Foci, Humunculi, and Hoki.

The shocked and now very polite and respectful goblin led the strange Elf and child into the back area where the vault cars were, and then past it much to the curious look of a wizard sat in a car although he disappeared after a moment with a startled yelp and the car shot off, they passes through a large ornate and heavily reinforced door, on the other side waiting was Ragnok, her greeted them and explained that the deep vaults were the oldest vaults gringotts had, one belonged to the founder and his family the vault of gringotts and was the largest, but the other vaults owners were unknown and were thought to be dead and it had been quite a surprise that not only had one had turned up, but it was owned by Harry potter.

Ragnok showed them to an ornate gold carriage with plush red leather interior seats and magically provided drinks, Silky had a smooth fruit wine while Harry had a bottle of pepsi which he loved, they sat inside and were surprised that Ragnok didn't join them,

"The deep vaults allow ONLY their keyholders and bound beings like hou.. er.. assistant elves, if I were to go I would not likely survive, I will wait for you here and we can deal with our other matters when you return,"

With that he closed the door and the carriage moved off although Harry couldn't feel any movement he could see the environment speed past the window, mostly rock and shadow as there wasn't much to see but after about ten minutes the carriage came to a stop and the doors opened, Silky stepped out first followed by Harry.

They were in a large cavern and before them stood several large ornate doors, the central one was made of gold with a large 'g' on each panel, the others were silver but all the doors had no lock or handle, as they walked forward one door to the right of the gringotts one began to move and flow like mercury until a keyhole appeared at just the right height for Harry to be able to place the key comfortably in, and with Silky's encouragement he did so, the door seemed to melt into the key until it was gone, inside was a bare room with a crystal ball set into a pedestal slap bang in the center of the room, as Harry walked in Silky couldn't follow,

"Master it seems that you must go on without me, I am but a servant and not permitted, I am sure though that there will be no danger to you inside, I will wait right here," Silky stated calmly,

Harry took a breath and hesitantly placed his hand on the crystal ball the feeling of being span about at high speed kicked in for a few moments before he fell backwards into a soft chair, before him was a simple wooden desk with a smaller crystal ball and a blank book, beyond the book there were shelf upon shelf of books and scrolls, there was no real light source it just seemed to diffuse from every surface, harry walked into the stacks looking at various books but seeing how little knowledge of the wizarding world he had most made no impression on him, but there was three titles he noticed that he knew but try as he might he couldn't move the books, he spent several minutes looking around but couldn't find a way to remove the books and so he headed back to the desk he had arrived at.

Harry rounded the table and sat back down, looking back down at the desk he saw a nameplate 'Evans Inspiration vault' and now written on the book was a set of instructions on how to call for certain books or information, and also how to file new books into the vault, all he had to do was state what he was interested in and it would be provided, the originals were stored and protected here and any he called for would only provide a copy so as to protect the original, apparently if a copy was stolen or lost he could use to vault key to make it disintegrate wherever it was.

Silky waited patiently for her master, instinct told her he would be perfectly safe but she still worried a little, fortunately she didn't have to wait long as Harry reappeared holding three tomes, the first two made sense to her a book on Foci and one on Homunculi, but the last one she didn't recognize the subject Hoki, Harry handed her the books and asked her to put them into the cottage which she did with a snap, they then took the carriage back up to meet Ragnok to continue the business they had come here for.

Ragnok met them at the carriage station and then led them to his office, they were escorted by a large number of heavily armed guards which Ragnok explained, as the holder of a deep vault key Harry was now considered not only an honorary member of the goblin nation but also a highly ranked one, when Harry looked confused he explained that the deep vaults were very old build by not only Gringott himself but his investors who personally created the other vaults, as a recognized holder of a deep vault key he is in fact a member of gringotts founder families and since his family helped create gringotts he is a partial owner of the whole bank,

"It seems that once you entered your vault the central Ledger itself was altered, it now lists you as the owner of the Grongott's Invention division, since there is no magical invention lab in any branch we assume your family were the inventors and we merely helped with the business side of things, and would be happy to do so again should you wish it, but for today we should complete our business,"

they arrived at his office where the guards waited outside, Ragnok poured himself a glass of firewhisky and Silky transfigured a glass of water into Harry's new favorite drink, they first filled out and filed the paperwork to change Harry's name, and also Ragnok helped Harry, sorry Harold (harry for short), fit his color change contacts which made his eyes a dark blue color, they then discussed what Harry could do as head (and only employee) of Gringotts invention division, but it boiled down to if he came up with an idea for an invention the goblins would help develop it, if he created a prototype first the patent would be his solely and anything developed from just an idea would be shared ownership between him and the bank, it was time to go as Harry was flagging and it was getting late, Silky popped them home and took the now asleep Harry to his bed and tucked him in.

Over the next year Harry began his studies Homunculi were first, the only true race created by this method so far were house-elves, they were classes as a living race because they could learn, reproduce, and deduce to Harry's sadness Silky was different, she couldn't learn anything other than things needed for service such as foods for Harry to eat, and things needed for His continued well being such as deflecting a search spell, and she couldn't reproduce, she knew this herself but it didn't seem to bother her, it only took Harry a few weeks to learn all he could since he decided this wasn't something he wanted to do, creating an entire race was huge and he wanted no part of it, he did learn that as a member of the family that created House-elves he could give them an order and they would obey even if it went against the wishes of their current master and he could also sever the bond between master and elf if the needed to.

Foci was interesting, he discovered that the wands most wizards use was the first studied by his family and they reached several conclusions, wands provided a focused and slightly more powerful magic but had a huge downside, dependence, use of one forced the magical flow in the body into a certain path making use of wandless magic nearly impossible and some wizards had an interruption to their magical flow making wands useless to them, gloves, rings, bracelets, and necklaces had similar problems for humans, although other races may not have this problem. He also found a diagram of the human body showing the path through the body that this 'flow' seemed to follow, the notes indicated though that this diagram was incomplete, and it did look a little crude but there was something slightly familiar about it.

Hoki was the last he had from the vault and talked about a method of immortality, one could remove a part of their soul and store it in a suitable container to make it impossible for them to truly die, there were two known methods and both were difficult, the first required the wizard to spend years focusing on themselves and nothing else until they arrived at a point of complete self awareness, they could then carefully separate a part of their soul and store it, it was a difficult and long process but it would have resulted in perfect immortality, the second method was more common, one would forcibly damage their soul by committing an act of utter vileness which would cause damage to the soul and allow the wizard to literally tear a part of themselves away and store it, the downside was what their soul would become unstable leading to madness and a loss of humanity, although committing an act needed for this meant they didn't have much humanity to begin with, the soul parts would become corrupt and act like an infection anyone unfortunate enough to posses one ran a big risk of being possessed and consumed by it, Harry sent the book back he now felt a little ill that he had one of those 'things' in him, he would study it more some other time.

Harry focused on the key and asked for subjects he could study that did not require being able to use magic directly, two books appeared, potions, and Occlumency.

Harry spent time studying, hanging around Diagon ally, and also talking with many goblins at Gringotts, he would have some of them help him with his studies and test his potions, he also would ask about goblin crafting about how metals were molded and shaped, ideas would pop into his head which he would write down in a notebook which would go into his vault when full and he'd buy a new one and proceed to fill that, a few times a wizard would spot him just casually walk into the back area of gringotts and ask a teller about it only be told that no wizard could enter gringotts so easily and then be intimidated into not asking again, Harry was not a wizard in their eyes, but a fellow goblin.

Albus Dumbledore was having a bad time, he could find no trace of Harry Potter, the few spells capable of searching for the boy came up empty, the Dursleys told him (yelled at him) that the freak had ran off and hopefully been hit by a London bus, he had searched London and Diagonally but nothing, the order had also come up with nothing much to Molly Weasley's distress, but what Albus didn't expect was that things were going to get much worse.

THE APPALING TRUTH ABOUT HARRY POTTER by Rita Skeeter.

When we think of the boy who lived, we picture him living in luxury his every need taken care of his every whim done.

Unfortunately that fantasy is just that a fantasy, after his defeat of he who must not be named you would expect him to be whisked away to a loving family who would do all that they can to ease his pain, but reality is cruel, as that was not to poor boy's fate he was dropped at the stroke of midnight on a cold October night at No. 4 Private Drive and left alone by his Magical Guardian, they didn't even knock the door, instead of a large room full of toys he got a cupboard under the stairs, instead of expensive food he had scraps when he could steal them, instead of love and comfort he had yelling and beatings with a belt, instead of friends to play with he was forced to cook and clean, instead of a childhood he spent his schooldays hiding from his own cousin and his friends who would beat him badly, instead of being cared for he was forgotten and ignored by those who owed him most.

Hidden under an age restrict below is a list of his injuries and mistreatment, I worn you dear reader it's not for the faint of heart:

REDACTED PG

I am sorry to say it gets worse, according to a healer as st. Mungos there is evidence in the report that the boy has received magical medical attention several times, but there is no official record of it, and who is responsible for this horror that has befallen the boy who lived, who is the Magical Guardian who has now had Harry Potter removed from his care?

ALBUS PERCIVAL WULFRIC BRIAN DUMBLEDORE!

Rita stared down at her framed copy of the story, proud and surprised, this story was 100% completely true not a made up word in it, and after so many of her publications being a little fanciful, this one, her best to date filled her with a sense of pride and satisfaction she had never felt before and she wanted more!

Dumbledore sat in his headmasters office looking at his copy of the Daily Prophet in abject horror, he had covered up the report from child services how had this happened? he had to do something before *tap tap tap* the window open on it's own to admit the post and several red smoking letters landed on his desk.

Quick stepping out of his office Dumbledore tried to maintain his dignity as several howlers hurled abuse and insults at him, it was then her ran into Professors McGonagall and Flitwick, madam Pomfrey and Hagrid, 3 looked furious and Hagrid looked like a kicked puppy, they didn't say anything but Filius kicked him in the shin and left followed by Minerva who slapped him and Pomfrey who kicked him between the legs, Hagrid just said "I trusted you," before following the rest out, on the floor was their resignations, Dumbledore just stood there in shock he had just lost some very important support he didn't even seem to notice the howlers still abusing him.

Rita's next article would be just as scathing and insulting as any other with one sharp extra, it was all true, and now Dubledore was scrambling to limit the damage.

Meanwhile at Gringotts laughter could be heard coming from Ragnoks office, not only had he received copies of the Daily Prophet, but had filed charges against Dubledore for attempted unauthorized withdrawal of funds from Harry's Potter trust vault as he had tried to withdraw gold to bribe the Dursleys with unaware that he was no longer Harry's magical guardian and had been in such a rush when they refused he didn't have time to think about the meaning of the refusal and left.

Harry was progressing well in his studies, his potions were 'satisfactory' according to the goblins which considering the standards of the goblins was high praise indeed, he was now working on one that was incomplete called 'the kingdom potion' it was extreamly difficult even with the extensive research his ancestors had done they had only completed the prototype potion, he was now working on the final product but progress was slow and frustrating.

He though his Occlumency studies were going well but with no one he could trust able to test his defences he just had to hope they would be up to snuff if and when he needed them.

He was having a breakfast of bacon eggs sausages and ice cream when his copy of the Daily prophet arrived and a thought occured to him,

"Silky? where are the other Wizarding papers?" Harry asked,

"Master there is only the one, there is one called the Quibbler but it has a very small following and is considered mostly fiction,"

"what about the rest of the world?"

"I don't know master I am sorry,"

Harry remembered one of the very few useful lessons he learned from Vernon, he had noticed his uncle had daily delivered many papers, the sun, guardian, daily mail ect. and would read them all usually only the stories that interested him but this had made Harry curious and so he had gingerly approached his uncle and asked why, and to his shock his uncle had answered him,

"That is simple boy, the papers don't give just facts they give opinions, mostly opinions, you want to know what actually happened you read them all and compare that will let you see the truth,"

It had been one of the few times his uncle had not yelled at him for asking a question and Harry had worked out what his uncle was hinting at so when Silky told him that wizards only read the one paper he had been horrified for a few minutes before a smile crept on his face and he sent a letter to Gringotts requesting that should the daily prophet or any share in it become available they were to immediately purchase them for him.
