Meanwhile Amelin and Draco had a real relationship. Draco still couldn't believe that Amelin just accepted him so impartially and was genuinely interested in his world. Amelin on the other side how Draco couldn't see what a good and endearing person he was and how different he was from boy he told her about when he told her something about his past. Once she even told him that this Draco wouldn't even have looked at her and he had laughingly agreed with her that he would probably have lost his interest in her as soon as he knew that she was a Muggle. Now Amelin stood happy in the kitchen of her parents helping her mother with the dishes. She had eaten dinner with them. "You seem to be in a good mood", her mother stated. "I am", Amelin said grinning. Since the night Draco had told her the truth about him and they had kissed she could barely stop it. "May I ask about the reason for this?" her mother asked. Amelin blushed a little and said: "I've had a boyfriend for a while." Pierrette froze in her movement looking at her daughter. "A boyfriend?" she asked. Amelin nodded. "Yes, his name is Draco and Mama he's so, I can't describe it." Pierrette smiled, her daughter had never talked about one of her boyfriends like that. "He must be something special", she noted. "He is Mama." "I would like to meet him." Amelin turned to her mother in surprise. "What? Why?" she wanted to know. "Well", Pierrette said taking a plate. "This young man seems to mean a lot to you, that's why I would like to meet him and I'm sure your father as well." "Maman", Amelin begged. "No backtalk you invite him to dinner next week d'accord?" Amelin sighed. "D'accord."
When Amelin met Draco a few days later she told him about the invitation from her parents and to Amelin's surprise Draco agreed to go to her parents' house for dinner. Now the two of them stood in front the door of Amelin's childhood home. "Hey don't worry I'm with you", Draco said and put a comforting hand on Amelin's back. She looked up at him smiling shyly. Then she turned away and rang the bell. A short moment later the door was torn open from Amelin's mother. "Amelin there you are", she said gladly and hugged her daughter. As she let go off her she turned to Draco. "And you must be Draco." "Yes Mam I'm happy to meet you Mrs. Smith." Draco took her hand and kissed her knuckles. "How charming. Come inside", Pierrette said and let them enter. While Draco and Amelin took off their jackets Pierrette had disappeared again and Amelin could only shake her head about her mother. Amelin took Draco's hand guiding him to the dining room where her father surely was waiting already. She was right her father stood with his back to them in front of the fireplace. "Papa?" Amelin said carefully. Max turned around slowly his gaze flew over his daughter and then to the blond man who stood behind her. "Papa that's Draco", she introduced Draco. "It's a pleasure Sir", Draco said reaching out his hand. Max briefly shook the hand and kept on eyeing Draco silently. He was probably trying to be intimidating, which was kind of funny since he also only reached Draco's shoulders. Amelin heard a clink behind her which probably meant that her mother had just entered the room with some glasses. Draco looked unsure down at his girlfriend, she was about to tell him something when a voice came from the kitchen. "Mum where did you but the gravy boat?" A moment later a young man entered the dining room and Amelin tore away from Draco's side. "Luc!" she screamed throwing herself at the young man. He laughed and hugged his sister. "What are you doing here?" Amelin wanted to know as she let go off her brother. "Maman said you were coming to dinner with your boyfriend, I couldn't pass that up." Lucien threw a glance over Amelin's shoulder at Draco who stood a little lost in the room. After he had looked at the blond for a while he let go of his sister and went to him. "Hi I'm Lucien Amelin's brother", he introduced himself. "Draco nice to meet you." "So", Lucien said turning around again, "Where is the gravy boat now Mum." Pierrette only shook her head. "You four take a seat on the table and I'll serve dinner." Amelin rolled her eyes and sat down at the table with the three men. Her father sat at the head off the table, on his wright sat Lucien on his left Amelin and Draco. Pierrette served the food and they started to eat. The conversation at the table was mainly carried by Lucien and Pierrette talking about Lucien's work until Pierrette suddenly turned to Draco. "And Draco what are you doing?" Draco looked up from his plate, then at Amelin who nodded at him encouraging. "Well I invest myself in integration", he said. "Oh then you work with all kind of people", Pierrette said excited. Draco nodded. "And how do you get to that?" Lucien wanted to know, shoving a fork of vegetables into his mouth. "Well my parents had a pretty old fashioned view on that subject and somehow I wanted to amend what they have done to those people." The way Draco spoke one could think his parents were some kind of nazi, what was kind of true in his society. "I'm sure it's not easy for you to go against the will of your parents", Pierrette said emphasizing. "My Mum gets it somehow she was never so grim but my Dad is quiet fixated on it." Amelin who felt that it wasn't easy for Draco to speak about his parents reached for his hand on the table squeezing it tightly. Draco first looked at her, then at their intertwined hands, then he raised her hand to his lips and kissed it. "You're a really cute couple", gushed Pierrette and Amelin blushed.
After dinner Pierrette asked her children to take care of the dishes while she and Max talked with Draco. Amelin kissed Draco's cheek before she retreated with her brother into the kitchen. "And did you prepare him for Mom and Dad's interrogation?" Lucien wanted to know as he poured water. Amelin shook her head. "That's not necessary." Lucien turned to his sister and looked at her wide eyed. "Are you mad, the two will scare him away and he's really cute at that." Amelin rolled her eyes, reached across her brother at the sink to shut off the water. "Draco won't be scared so easily besides I trust him." "What do you mean?" Lucien said grabbing the stack of plates. "I met him at work", Amelin said, earning an incredulous look from Lucien. "And" she continued determined, "he hasn't done anything in that direction yet." Lucien turned again to his sister crossing his arms in front of his chest. "You want to tell me, that he has already seen you half naked but hadn't made an effort to sleep with you", he asked looking at Amelin insistent. "Correct. He respects me, he didn't even wanted a lap dance from me", Amelin said giggling. "Are you sure he's not gay?" Lucien asked turning back to the dishes. "According to his reaction he had as I sat on his lap despite all he's definitely not gay." "To bad, he must be quite endowed if you could feel him through his clothes." Shocked Amelin looked at her brother and then slapped him with her towel. What Lucien defended laughing. Half an hour later the sibling came into the living room and were amazed to see that Draco was obviously getting along with their parents. While Lucien took a seat beside their mother on the couch Amelin sat on the armrest of Draco's armchair. "And you made it through the interrogation?" Amelin wanted to know kissing Draco's cheek. "Your parents only wanted to know if my intentions are honorable", Draco said tacking a sip from his glass. Amelin took the glass from him smelling it. "Papa that's your good whiskey", she said amazed looking at her father. He smiled at her raising his own glass. Never before had her father his whiskey to one of her boyfriends and that they were sitting together so relaxed probably meant that Draco had done well with her parents.
After dinner Amelin accompanied Draco to his home. She wanted to speak with him and spend the night at his. "Did you putt a spell on my parents?" Amelin asked from the bathroom to Draco's bedroom where she was changing for the night. "Only with my charm", Draco replied. "Dray", Amelin said a little annoyed. Draco chuckled taking off his shirt. "I know it would have annoyed you if I had used magic on them so I let it be", he said just as Amelin left the bathroom. He saw how her eyes traveled over his naked chest and quickly pulled on an old t-shirt. "You really didn't putt a spell on them?" Amelin wanted to know stepping closer to him. Draco wrapped his arms around her and looked down at her. "Really I didn't, they just seem to like me." Amelin put her forehead against his chest. "Papa doesn't really like my boyfriends," she muttered. "I guess you just couldn't stand up to his interrogation," Draco said, stroking her back. "Then it's a good thing you've been to court before" Amelin said looking up at him. Draco smiled tiredly. She could be lucky that he liked her so much otherwise he would probably have been quite offended. Amelin let go off him and went to bed. Draco lay behind her pulling her to his chest. He could have held her like this forever but he noticed that something was bothering her. "What's wrong?" he wanted to know laying his head on her shoulder. "Nothing", Amelin waved off. "Amelin please talk to me." Draco had raised his head again and looked into Amelin's face. She released his arm from her waist and turned to him. "I would like to meet your parents", she finally said. "Excuse me?" Draco asked stunned. "I would like to meet your parents", Amelin repeated. "Why that?" Draco wanted to know. Amelin shrugged she couldn't explain it herself. Draco sighed and ran his hand over his face. "Amelin I told you what they're thinking about muggles." Amelin took his hand squeezing it tightly. "It's not like we have to tell them straight away I'm not a witch." Draco looked at her for a long time thinking about it. "I don't know Amelin." "Why not? Are you ashamed of me? Do your parents even know about me?" hurt Amelin let go of Draco's hand and sat up. Draco sat up as well and took Amelin's face into his hands forcing her to look at him. "On the contrary, I'm more ashamed of my parents. They know that I'm meeting someone." Draco saw in her eyes that she was still hurt. He sighed and pulled her closer. "Alright I'll send an owl tomorrow and ask when they can meet us."
True to his words Draco send an owl to his parents the next day, they insisted on inviting the couple to brunch on the next Sunday. Draco had given Amelin the last information before he apparated with her to the cottage of his family. The house was smaller than the one Draco lived in but still bigger than what Amelin was used to. Draco looked at Amelin once again before he knocked on the door. A moment later it was opened by a house elf. "Master Draco", the elf said bowing deep. "The masters are awaiting you in the garden", it continued and led Amelin and Draco through the house. On the other side was a large porch with a table and a man sitting at it. Amelin only got a quick glance at him before her view was blocked by a woman. She was a bit taller than her, had dark blond hair and was wearing an expensive cloak. "Draco", she said happy and hugged him. "Hello mother", Draco said a little stiffly. "Look at you, you should come by more often. You must be Amelin", she suddenly turned to Amelin. "Ah yes nice to meet you Mrs. Malfoy." "Call me Narcissa dear." Amelin was surprised about the kindness from Draco's mother but smiled at her thankfully. Behind Narcissa someone cleared his throat. She turned around. Behind her stood the men who had been sitting on the table before and for Amelin there was no doubt that it had to bee Draco's father. He had the same light blond hair and pointy features, even the eyes were the same even though Draco's were warmer then his fathers. "We shouldn't exchange too many comforts right away shouldn't we my dear," Mr. Malfoy said, putting an arm around Narcissa. She rolled her eyes and mentioned for the three to take a seat. Although the atmosphere was tense the brunch was going well. Amelin excused herself once to go to the toilette and as she went back to the porch she could hear Draco's parents talking in the parlor. "And what do you think about her?" Narcissa wanted to know. "She seems to be good for Draco", she heard the dry voice of Mr. Malfoy. "I find her lovely, she's such a good match for our boy Lucius. Please don't scare her away", Narcissa asked. Smiling Amelin went on and sat grinning beside Draco at the table. "Why are you grinning like this?" he wanted to and took her hand. "I think your parents like me. Don't you think we should tell them?" she asked, looking hopefully at Draco. "It's worth a try", Draco said after looking into her eyes for a while. Amelin couldn't say something back because Draco's parents returned at this moment. "Well Amelin you haven't told us yet where you were educated. Have you been to Hogwarts as well?" Narcissa wanted to know tacking a seat across from her. "No and I wasn't at Beauxbaton either." "Oh then you were homeschooled that's what we had in mind for Draco," Narcissa said excitedly. "No I attended an ordinary high school." "A Squib?" Mr. Malfoy snorted scornfully. "No, I'm not a Squib, I'm a Muggle", Amelin said proud. The smile on Narcissa's face froze and Amelin could she how she got even paler than she already was. "Draco", Mr. Malfoy said cooly looking at his son. "Father?" Draco said carefully. "You will obliviate this person at once and then leave her." Draco's eyes widened. He looked from his parents to Amelin then he said determined: "No." "Excuse me", Mr. Malfoy said perplexed. "I won't obliviate her and I'm not going to leave her either father." "Draco she's a Muggle, she's not worth anything." Draco had now jumped to his feet. "She's worth more than anything else on the world. Father it doesn't matter if she's a witch, a Muggle or some other creature I love her and that's all that matters to me." Amelin looked at Draco stunned, until now none of them had told the other that they loved the other but that he said it to his father's face in such a situation touched her. "Is that so?" Mr. Malfoy asked cooly. Draco nodded determined. "Then you're no longer welcome here until you get to your senses." Draco snorted. "Fine, Amelin let's go." Amelin stood up and took Draco's hand but before they left, she turned once more to Draco's parents. "Narcissa I know that you like me and Mr. Malfoy if you just don't like me because I'm a Muggle you're a weak men." With this words Draco and Amelin left Draco's parents.
As soon as the two landed in the living room of the manor Draco let go of Amelin's hand went to the fireplace and punched his fist against the bricks. "I'm sorry you had to experience that," Draco apologized. "You don't need to apologise. Your father should apologise for being so narrow-minded," Amelin said, stepping up to Draco. He turned around looking down at her. "Still", he said shacking his head. "Dray that doesn't change anything", Amelin ensured him and laid a hand against his cheek. "Really?" he asked unsure. Amelin nodded, she wondered if he even realized what he had said to his father before. "Draco." "Yeah?" "I love you too." It took a moment for Draco to process what Amelin had said then he smiled at her softly. "Sorry, I wanted to tell you under other circumstances." "It's alright. It was something different", Amelin said laughing and pulled Draco down so she could kiss him. When they separated she took his hand und dragged him with her. "Where are we going?" Draco wanted to know. "I want to take your mind off things," Amelin said, smiling mysteriously at him. Draco didn't know if he wanted to know what she was thinking about but willingly let himself be pulled along.
