Amelin didn't know how she deserved so much luck, with Draco's help she had been able to finish her studies sooner then planned and worked since this summer at the local preschool. Her students were adorable and so cute, that she sometimes wished for her own child. She and Draco were not ready yet, they had been together for more than two years but the family planning would still wait although it was clear for Amelin that she wanted to spend the rest of her life with Draco. At least at Harry's and Ginny's wedding, which had been earlier in the year, she had realized that. Ginny's family and some friends of the two had looked confused when she had shown up with Draco there but Draco and Harry were getting along quite well by now and she had found a good friend in Ginny. Besides she didn't know what was going on with Draco lately, he had closed himself of in his study in the last few days and seemed to avoid her. So Amelin had to be content with her students and Ted for now. It was November and the first snow covered the grounds. Amelin stood in the living room looking out the window. It always put a smile on her face to see the landscape around the Manor covered in snow, there was something magical about it. As she had once tried to explain it to Draco he had only laughed, but Amelin wasn't mad about it she had already thought that Draco as a wizard wouldn't get it. Suddenly she felt how two strong arms were wrapped around her waist, a well-toned body pulled her close and Draco rested his head on her shoulder. "Are you watching the grounds again?" he asked. Amelin leaned a little away from him so she could look at him. "Yeah, but the more important question is where have you been?" She could see how Draco swallowed, he had disappeared in the morning after a brief goodbye and had just returned now. She had been worried, because she knew that he had no business in the ministry and hadn't told her where he was going. "So?" she presses when Draco said nothing. Taking a deep breath Draco let go of her und pulled her with him by her hand. "Come", Draco asked her. He dragged her into the hallway and handed her, her coat. "Draco what are you up to?" Amelin wanted to know holding the coat in her hands. "Let you feel the magic." Amelin didn't exactly knew what he meant by that, but she put on her coat. "Close your eyes", Draco asked. Amelin raised her eyebrow and looked at him skeptically. "Please Amelin trust me." Sighing Amelin closed her eyes. Draco smiled, pulled Amelin close and apparated with her to where he had spent the day.

As soon as the crushing feeling left Amelin, she could feel a cold wind blowing around her nose. She knew she was outside, but she still didn't know where exactly Draco had brought her. "Draco, can I open my eyes again?" Amelin wanted to know. "Not yet", she heard Draco's voice, then steps in the snow and finally Draco's voice came again from further away. "Now." Amelin opened her eyes and looked around baffled. She felt like she had landed in a winter wonderland. There was snow everywhere, which glistened slightly and suddenly Amelin realized where they were. It was the playground were they had had their first date. The playground equipment was not only covered with snow but also decorated with fairy lights. "Do you like it?" Draco's voice pulled Amelin out of her wonder. "It's beautiful Dray but why are we here?" Amelin wanted to know and looked at Draco. "Well, this place has a special meaning for both of us. Amelin I hear the excitement when you talk about your students and I see how great you are with Ted. Whenever the three of us are out together people think we are Ted's parents and lately I wish it were true and even though I know we are not ready for that yet, I want to take the next step, then I know for sure that I don't want to live without you anymore," while Draco had been talking he had come closer to Amelin again and was now standing right in front of her. Amelin looked at him wide eyed and hoped she wasn't dreaming especially since Draco went to his knees in front of her and took her right hand in his. With his free hand he took a little box out of his jacket pocket. "Amelin Smith would you do me do honor of becoming my wife?" Draco asked opening the box that contained a plain silver ring with four small diamonds and one larger diamond. Amelin was speechless and tears streamed down her face. That was what Draco had been planning the last few days. Since Amelin didn't trust her voice she only nodded and Draco started beaming. He took the ring from the box and slipped it over her ring finger, then he got up and pulled her close. "I love you", Draco whispered before he kissed her.

"Who do you want to invite?" Amelin asked chewing on her pen. "Stop that", Draco said taking the pen from her. Amelin glared at her fiancé, but Draco just smiled at her. "So who do you want to invite?" Amelin repeated her question. "Blaise, without him we wouldn't be together. Potter, he also invited us to his wedding, otherwise I don't care as long as you wear my name at the end of the day." Amelin wrote the names down and then asked as casually as possible. "What about you parents?" Draco who was about to drink something froze in his movement. "No, they didn't want to know about me since we've been together, so they have no right to be there at this day." Amelin knew that Draco would have liked to talk to his mother again, because she wasn't the driving force behind all the muggle hate but it wasn't possible because none of them wanted to stand up against Lucius. Slowly, Amelin took Draco's hand. "Dray they are your parents. Don't you think they want to be present on the wedding day of their only child?" Amelin wanted to know. "I don't care what they want or don't want, they couldn't accept you and so they wont come." By his tone, Amelin knew she didn't need to talk to Draco any further about it, but she would still send Abraxas to his parents with an invitation.

Amelin was glad that she had send Draco's parents an owl, because a week after the invitations had been send there was an article in the daily prophet.

Malfoy heir marries Muggle.

The headline read, below was a picture of Draco and Amelin tasting cakes in a bakery and the ring on Amelin's finger was clearly visible. When Draco saw that he was mad as hell and paid a visit to the editorial office of the daily prophet whereby he luckily missed how a howler landed in the manor. It was from Lucius, who insulted Draco badly and talked about how his Muggle bitch could dare to send them an invitation to this impossible event. When Draco returned home and found Amelin crying in the living room he forgot his anger and hugged her comforting. His fiancée then told him what had happened and Draco only refrained from cursing his father into the next dimension because he didn't want to leave Amelin alone. It dismayed him that an event which was supposed to be the most beautiful in their lives brought them both so much pain.

Nervously Amelin played with her engagement ring and watched the hustle and bustle in the garden of the manor. The guests arrived slowly and Draco greeted them with a smile on his face. Amelin had to admit that he looked damn good in his dark suit. At her request he had tied his hair only loosely together so that they did not fall into his face all the time. "I still don't get why you choose this dress." Amelin turned away from the window and smiled when she saw Sophie in the door frame. "You know that I like it", she replied. Sophie snorted and Amelin rolled her eyes. She had chosen a simple wedding dress and if someone didn't know better they would think it was a ordinary summer dress. "You know if it wasn't for this belt, I would almost think that you're pregnant", Sophie said pointing at Amelin's waist who was surrounded by a silver belt. "Very funny Soph", Amelin said annoyed. Sophie smiled, went to her friend and hugged her. "Honestly Amy, I'm happy for you." Amelin returned the hug. She was glad that her best friend would support her today. There was a knock at the door and Amelin looked over Sophie's shoulder. "What are you doing here?" she asked. Blaise entered the room with a big grin. "Draco wanted for me to look for you and besides I wanted to get my escort here." Sophie snorted and turned forward the dark-skinned wizard. "For the last time Zabini I'm not your escort shouldn't you be watching that Draco doesn't get cold feet?" she wanted to know crossing her arms in front of her chest. Amelin had to grin, since the two knew each other, they were like cats and dogs. Blaise always tried to hit on Sophie and Sophie defended herself against his approaches with her sharp tongue. "Oh Draco's fine, he only worries that Amelin suddenly realizes that she deserves something better and runs off after all", Blaise said with a shrug. Amelin groaned and both in attendance looked at her in surprise. "Blaise you can tell Draco, that I only get second thoughts if he doesn't stop with this nonsense", she said slightly angry. Blaise nodded in understanding and disappeared again with Sophie. Amelin shook her head, he just didn't understand why Draco couldn't finally understand that she loved him without ifs and buts. "You know this is going to happen a lot, don't you?" Amelin heard her father's voice behind her. "Dad" she said exited and hugged him. "You witnessed this?" asked Amelin still in her father's arms. "Yeah. You shouldn't worry such things are completely normal. You can't imagine how often your mother and I had such differences." "Do think we can handle this?" Amelin wanted to know and let go of her father. "Sure. You love each other and love can overcome all boundaries." Amelin smiled. "Thanks Papa", she said and hugged her father once more. "Don't worry. Shall we then?" he asked offering her his arm. Only now Amelin realized that her father had come to pick her up and lead her to the altar. Taking a deep breath she nodded and looped her arm around his. Together they went through the manor until they reached the garden. When they reached the glass door through which they entered the garden, music sounded from somewhere. The guest turned forward them and Draco also beamed when he saw them. His smile was infectious and Amelin could do nothing but return it. Behind Draco stood the minister of magic who would wed them. Draco had explained her, that a wizard had to guide their ceremony, so the marriage would also be acknowledged in the magical world. Faster then she thought Amelin reached her groom.

The ceremony itself was kept rather short, as Amelin and Draco had already said their vows to each other the night before, and they merely contented themselves with the official vows. Ted brought them the rings, as he had at Ginny and Harry's wedding. Amelin smiled and tousled his blond hair and Ted grinned up to her. They had chosen plain silver rings to match Amelin's engagement ring. Whereas Amelin's ring still had a small diamond in the center. When Draco put on her ring, he kissed her hand, whereupon Amelin blushed, since Draco was not really inclined to public expressions of love, but today everything was different - after all, it was their wedding day. Finally Kingsley declared them husband and wife and when Amelin kissed Draco time stopped for her for a moment.

Exhausted Amelin sat in one of the chairs massaging her hurting feet. Draco had told her, that she didn't need to wear heels but then she always felt like a dwarf beside him. Her husband had disappeared somewhere in the crowd and was probably speaking with some guests. Amelin heard how a chair beside her was pulled back. She turned around and looked into Ginny's smiling face. "Hey Gin", Amelin said returning the smile. "And how does it feel to be Mrs. Malfoy?" the redhead wanted to know. "Not much different then before", Amelin admitted looking back into the crowd in the hope of seeing Draco. "You know I've never seen Draco like today", Ginny said and Amelin looked confused at her. "How?" she asked. Ginny giggled. "Well so relaxed and happy", Ginny explained. "Well Draco is someone who doesn't show his feelings so openly, I only know what's going on inside him half the time myself," Amelin admitted. "True but you will get there. You know, even if they would never admit it Draco and Harry are more alike than they think." Amelin laughed and saw how the two men appeared from the crowd and came forward their table. "I think you're right", she said just as Draco reached them. He bend down to her and kissed her. "What is Weasley right about?" he asked. "It's Potter, Malfoy and you don't want to know it", Ginny snapped at him. "Gin don't forget that I'm now a Malfoy too", Amelin said seriously. The two women looked at each other for a while, while Draco grinned and Harry rolled his eyes. Then they started laughing at the same time. "Thank you for coming", Amelin said when she had calmed down again a little. "No big deal, you are and I almost can't believe that I'm saying this, but you are our friends." Draco laughed. "Was that so hard Potter". Harry rolled his eyes and said laughing. "Shut up Malfoy." Ginny and Amelin looked at each other and rolled their eyes, no matter how much time the two spend with each other or how old they got, there would always be a competition between them. Draco bend down to Amelin. "Do you want to leave Mrs. Malfoy?" he whispered into her ear and a pleasant shudder spread down Amelin's spine. "What about our guests?" she wanted to know trying to defend herself against Draco's finger who caressed her back seductively. "It's getting late, I don't think they'll notice our disappearance," Draco remarked, and Amelin felt the last resistance in her break. "Alright", she whispered and let Draco pull her to her feet. "Potters have a nice evening", Draco said before he guided Amelin through the crowd to the manor to spend their first night as married couple.
