Hey guys, The Vaudevillain Veteran here. Just wanted to say wow! This is my longest chapter yet and that I hope you enjoy it! Please review if you can, they are much appreciate and I hope that my fanfic gets a TV Tropes page one day :) Anyway, on with the story!
Shortly after passing the trials of heroism, Sariel guided Shisui to a secluded room that very few mortals knew of it's existence.
"Where are we going?" Shisui asked, hoping Sariel would give him a concrete answer.
Sariel merely smiled warmly at his answer. "You'll see."
Shisui was rather eager to coax the answer out of Sariel, before deciding in the end that it is best to just be patient instead (that and because he didn't want to annoy Sariel.)
10 minutes had passed of walking down a dull grey corridor when Sariel came to an abrupt halt in front of a large stone door.
"Here we are." She announced.
Shisui looked on complete awe at the beautiful and prestigious room. It was adorned in the finest silks Shisui had ever seen and was populated by many Golden statues of various individuals Shisui didn't recognise except-
"The Fourth Hokage?" He asked in surprise.
"Yes. Individuals who possess, lived by and encouraged the shining aspects of humanity have their statues erected in the Hall of Heroes due to their selfless actions being deemed as exceptionally worthy by the Chief Goddess to be seen as a shining example for future generations of heroes to follow." Sariel explained.
Shisui continued to stare at the Fourth's statue in awe whilst Sariel continued to talk about the Hall of Heroes. Looking at the statue reminded him how were it not for the Fourth, he would've fallen into darkness and succumb to the curse of hatred that plagued his clan.
(Flashback)
Minato Namikaze always had a knack for being able to read people solely on their body language, which was an especially important skill he perfected ever since becoming Hokage.
It had been four days since the Nine Tails attacked Konoha. Although he had managed to save many lives on that faithful night he unfortunately couldn't save the life of his dear wife Kushina, who passed away shortly after he sealed the Yin half of the Nine tails into his body and the Yang half into his newborn son Naruto Namikaze.
He walked at a slow and steady place towards his wife's grave, the slight breeze making his white cloak flail around him.
Arriving at his recently deceased wife's grave he breathed in deeply. It had still not fully sunk in that the love of his life was taken away from him, Minato had rarely felt at a loss on what to do. First he had lost two of his precious students two years ago to war, and now he had lost the voice of guidance in his life.
Minato gently placed down the bunch of flowers in his hand on his wife's grave, he looked at her tombstone one last time, remembering all the fun memories he had with Kushina. Sighing again he stood up and proceeded to make his way back to the Namikaze estate.
Until he noticed a black haired boy, no older than ten, also standing in front of a grave, and guessing from the red and white Uchiwa fan symbol on the back of his shirt, was an Uchiha.
"Hi there." Minato said warmly to the child.
The child turned his attention towards Minato, wearing a seemingly indifferent look on his face. "Hello Lord Fourth." He muttered flatly.
Minato approached the child, placing a hand on the young boy's shoulder. "So what is your name, if I may ask?"
"Shisui Uchiha." He replied coldly.
"Shisui huh? I see you...lost someone dear to you also." Minato replied in an empathetic tone.
"Yes Lord Fourth. I lost my father, mother, sister, sensei and friends during the war...to those Iwa scum." Shisui muttered darkly as he clenched his fist.
"I swear on my family, sensei and friend's grave that I'll kill any Iwa nin I come accross!" Shisui declared as he activated his Sharingan.
Minato looked on at the boy in a mixture of sadness and worry; he had seen too many Uchiha fall down this path of darkness which ultimately destroyed them in the end.
No, today he will make sure this boy doesn't get consumed by hatred instead. As Hokage it was his duty to care for his village, his family.
"I would advise against that." Minato said flatly.
"Why?" Shisui asked shakily.
"Because holding a grudge is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die, in the end it'll only harm you." Minato advised the Young Uchiha.
"So what do you suppose I do then? Just forget that all of those close to me have their deaths be unavenged?" Shisui asked in anger, raising his voice as well.
"No, do not forget about your loved ones. Instead see their deaths as motivation to protect any future friends or loved ones you will meet with your life." Minato said.
Shisui thought about the Fourth's words, they struck a cord in his heart, his words were eerily similar to those his mother, father and sister had told all told him before their deaths.
Minato noticed Shisui taking his words to heart. "Believe it or not I understand your pain, as I too also lost two students of mine during the war, Rin Nohara and Obito Uchiha." He said.
"Obito? Obito-san was a part of your team?" Shisui asked in awe.
"Yes he was. Bright boy with a bright future ahead of him, which was sadly taken away from him by war. When he died, he died with a smile on his face, do you know why he died with a smile?" Minato asked the boy.
Shisui thought hard at what the answer to Minato's question was. Ultimately in the end, he sighed in defeat. "No Lord Hokage, I do not." Shisui admitted.
"It's because until his last breath he lived by the will of fire, swearing to protect those precious to him, even at the cost of his own life." Minato said proudly.
"Even at...the cost of his own life?" Shisui muttered.
"Yes. Never forget being a shinobi is meaningless if you do not have any bonds to protect. It is these bonds that give us purpose in life, and a reason to keep on fighting no matter what." Minato said wisely.
(Flashback End)
Shisui smiled warmly as he reminisced about the events of that day. Ever since that fateful encounter with the Fourth he had since lived by the Will of Fire. Sariel called out his name, instructing him to follow her. Wanting to see more of this grand Hall Shisui followed her, curious to see who else was placed in this grand hall of heroes.
Noticing a statue of a man who looked uncannily like Might Guy, Shisui asked Sariel who the man was.
"This is Might Duy. Labelled as the Eternal Genin by the Hidden Leaf Village he possessed a heart of gold only found in very few individuals. He died a heroic death by protecting those he loved, which earned him the Chief Goddess' praise and a place in the Hall of Heroes." Sariel answered.
(Meanwhile...)
Jashin was currently skulking about in his lair. In the near millennia he had been trapped in this world, he had been formulating a plan to get back to his original world and reclaim his rightful throne, initially he had tried creating a portal back to his world a few days after being banished to this world, however that attempt ended in utter failure as the portal closed violently on him and created a small shockwave that created a small crater in the area of land he tried it on. Jashin then quickly realised why his portal spell failed; he thrived off of negative energy, and when he arrived in this world at the time, there was little to no conflict and thus, no negative emotions to feed on. Noting this he discreetly instigated conflict in this world.
Looking back at it Jashin did find it funny how he had been overthrown, minus the wish to turn every monster into human loving whores it was virtually identical to how he had planned to overthrow Mephiles all those millennia ago, until he was slain by that Elven warrior Lothos Dawnfall. Pouring himself a glass of wine he continued to reminisce about all the events that had led him here. He remembered the day when Lothos barged into the Royal Makai palace and slaughtered every single monster in his way. Knowing that Elf's power Jashin secretly hid and observed the battle between Mephiles and Lothos. When Lothos defeated Mephiles and interrogated him for answers, what Mephiles revealed to Lothos even shook him when he heard it.
(Flashback)
Mephiles the Dark coughed up blood as the Elven Hero Lothos continued to bury his sword deeper into his abdomen.
"I want answers, is it true that the Chief God is secretly allied with you monsters?" Lothos asked with venom in his voice.
Mephiles chuckled. "Since my time is about to come to and end I shall answer your question. Yes, it is true that we are all pawns of the Chief God. She secretly gives us orders to attack you Elves when she feels you lot are getting too strong, and orders us to hold back our attacks when she feels we have gotten too strong. Of course she does reward us for our loyalty by deliberately leaking information on how to beat you Elves." Mephiles croaked out as he then laughed manically before dying shortly after.
Watching from afar even Jashin couldn't believe what he was hearing, they were all just pawns in a game of holy war? Whilst Jashin never held the Elves in very high regard to begin with, he couldn't help but feel pity for the Elven Hero who looked completely broken at this revelation. From the shadows he watched the Elven Hero exit the palace with his head slumped.
A few days after Lothos slayed Mephiles he appointed himself as the 13th Demon Lord, albeit not without having to spill the blood of his fellow monsters. When news reached that the Elves were secretly planning to rebel against the Chief God, Jashin ordered his subordinates to not attack Asfaleia during this time, and even to the shock of many in the monster realm, ordered them to secretly assist the Elves in their rebellion. Despite the Elven rebellion failing and the leader of the rebellion Lothos dying at the hands of the Chief God, he managed to sever the Chief God's connection to the Earth and in turn, the monsters, meaning that Jashin and his underlings could operate outside the Chief God's influence. Out of respect for Lothos severing this slave-like bond the monsters had with the Chief God, he ordered that no monster shall harm any Elf nor attack any Elven settlements while he was in power.
When the humans came around though, that pardon did not extend to them.
(Back to the present)
Jashin took a few more sips of his wine. Now that he thought about since he was banished to this world of ninjas when he was overthrown by Lilith, did any of the previous Demon Lords, especially Mephiles, meet the same fate as him? He would never know. In his many years of living this adopted home world Jashin studied the magic, or 'jutsu' as this world's inhabitants called it. to increase his arsenal of techniques. One particular jutsu caught his interest, the Impure World Resurrection jutsu created by the second Hokage Tobirama Senju. This jutsu greatly impressed Jashin, the technique was far superior to the reanimation spells his old Lich subordinates used as this jutsu restored the resurrected soul to near the power and intelligence they possessed in life instead of as a mindless zombie.
Another interesting detail of this world Jashin admired was the Tailed Beasts, such as power truly impressed him, and after studying the nature of the Tailed Beasts for nearly a century (and also reaquiring his God like powers he had lost since being losing his title as Demon Lord via sacrifices made in his name) finally learned how to make a tailed beast. It was a far from perfect design, but he was eager to see if he could find a suitable host to bee it's jinchuuriki.
Two days remained until his conquest of the Mist would commence, Jashin decided that he would first check up on the Kaguya clan, particularly Kimimaro, to see how their preparations were coming along.
(At the Kaguya Clan hideout)
Clan leader Yoshanai Kaguya watched on with a sadistic smile as the Kaguya clan children all accepted the virtues of Jashinism without question. He had just supervised a group of Kaguya clan children savour their first kills for Lord Jashin, making him swell with pride.
Rising from beneath the ground next to Yoshanai was Jashin, also watching the initiation ceremony with keen interest.
"I see more children of the Kaguya have embraced me it seems?" Jashin asked with a smirk.
"Yes my lord, all preparations are going according to plan. The Hidden Mist won't know what's going to hit them." Yoshanai declared confidently.
"Good. Has Kimimaro awakened his killer instinct yet?" Jashin asked.
"No my Lord, he hasn't talked to anyone for nearly a week now, I fear I may have to put him down as you requested. Such a shame really, he-"
"No need for that." Jashin interjected.
"Why my Lord?" Yoshanai asked in suprise, baffled at Jashin's change of tune.
"I will talk to Kimimaro myself, I know just how to win him over." Jashin announced.
"I see...you are the most wisest Lord Jashin." Yoshanai praised Jashin.
Almost instinctively, or perhaps because the boy never moves from one spot, Jashin found him rather easily. The boy was currently sitting alone in a room, just staring at a flower.
"Hello Kimimaro." Jashin greeted formally.
"Hello Lord Jashin" Kimimaro muttered with his back turned towards Jashin.
"Your father has told me that you are still being reclusive. Why if I may ask?" Jashin asked as he squatted next to Kimimaro, flashing him a warm smile in the hope that he can gain the boy's trust.
"..."
"Please tell me Kimimaro, I promise I will not judge you for your answer." Jashin added.
"I just...wish I had a genuine purpose you know? I want be able to fight for a cause instead of just mass slaughter." Kimimaro revealed.
Jashin smirked, finally he knew just how to win over Kimimaro to his side.
"I see...well then Kimimaro, have you ever wondered why this world is filled with only war, segregation and hatred?" Jashin asked, trying to hide a devillish grin from forming on his face.
"No." He answered.
"You see, I am not from this world. A long time ago the creator of the world I originated from, the Chief God created two beings two be in internal conflict. The two groups were humans such as yourself and "monsters" as she liked to call my kind." Jashin revealed
"For thousands of years the Chief God secretly manipulated both sides to always be in eternal conflict because she secretly feared both monsters and humans coming together to take her down. When I was appointed Demon Lord I learned of this horrible truth, and tried to overthrow the Chief God and end this horrible cycle once and for all, however before I could do that a succubus by the name of Lilith overthrew me before I could begin my plan, and banished me to this world." Jashin continued to explain, taking deep pleasure at Kimimaro's shocked expression.
"Why? Why did she do that?" Kimimaro asked, eager to hear Jashin's answer.
"Because." Jashin paused. "She was a nymphomaniac who only cared about sex. Not only that, but she only overthrew me because she wanted to complete control of the world I came from. She also claimed that she did it out of a love for humanity. Now tell me Kimimaro, if she loved humanity so much why did she allow this world, populated by the humans she loved so much to go to hell?" Jashin asked Kimimaro, sensing the anger grow within him.
"I...don't know Lord Jashin.." He said through gritted teeth and clenched fists.
"I will tell you this...it is because to as long the humans and monsters in her world are good, she couldn't give a damn about the suffering of others not from her world. What I mean Kimimaro...is that she robbed you of a future...she made her world a utopia...in exchange for making yours a living hell, sacrificing the lives of many...for the lives of a few." Jashin explained.
Kimimaro gritted his teeth even tighter, his anger about to reach boiling point.
"When your clan and countless others prayed for someone to save them did Lilith answer their prayers? No. Did that hypocritical God answer their prayers? No. Only I did, because I understand the pain of betrayal. Swear loyalty to me Kimimaro, and I shall grant you the power to avenge yourself and countless other children that the Chief God and Lilith allowed to die. Swear fealty to me, and I shall create a world where you will become the master of your own destiny and live your life as you see fit. Now...what do you say...Kimimaro?" Jashin.
"I accept your offer Lord Jashin. I'll do whatever it takes it kill Lilith and the Chief God. I will make them feel the pain and despair I've suffered all my life." Kimimaro declared.
"Good, now just one last thing." Jashin said as a dark purple chakra emitted around his body. He directed said chakra towards Kimimaro.
Kimimaro looked at his right arm in awe, it was now also emitting that same dark purple chakra. For some reason this chakra amplified his negative emotions, which in turn he noticed he felt an increase in power. "This chakra...what is it?" He asked in amazement.
"It is a creation of my own called Dark Chakra. Dark Chakra becomes more potent when a person or a group of people's negative emptions are at their most potent. It is also these negative emotions that make me more powerful. Since you are my chosen champion I have transferred a being of my own creation called the Zero Tails inside of you." Jashin said
"Zero Tails? I thought the tailed beasts only were from 1 to 9 tails?" Kimimaro asked.
"You are most correct Kimimaro. The Zero Tails is indeed not one of the original nine tailed beasts, but instead a creation of my own. From this day forward, you are now the jinchuuriki of the Zero Tails and my champion."
(Back with Shisui)
"So this Might Duy, how did he die?" Shisui asked Sariel.
"He used the forbidden Eigth Gates technique, greatly increasing his strength at the cost of his own life." Sariel explained.
"I see, could you perhaps teach me this technique?" Shisui requested.
"No, it is too dangerous and besides, I can teach you far more powerful techniques without the cost of you life." Sariel firmly stated.
Shisui was bummed that Sariel turned down his offer, but shrugged it off since she promised to teach him more powerful techniques instead.
"Also, we need to find a solution to your ridiculously long cooldown period of your Kotoamatsukami." Sariel added.
'How the hell does she know about my Kotoamatsukami? I never told her about it.' Shisui thought to himself.
"You looked puzzled, no doubt curious as to how I know about your Ultimate Genjutsu?" Sariel asked, almost as if she was reading Shisui's mind.
Shisui nodded in agreement.
"I am your Guardian Angel Shisui, I watched over you from the day you were born. I was the one who protected you when you were sent onto the battlefield when you were barely able to walk. Every good and bad life experience you had I witnessed it." Sariel explained.
"Now then, close your eyes." Sariel instructed.
Shisui did as instructed and shut his eyes tight. He felt a warm energy surge through his body, it felt almost as if he were bathing in a hot spring. The sensation was very relaxing for him, so much so that he felt his consciousness slipping.
Instinctively Sariel caught the young Uchiha before he slumped on the ground.
"If you found me gifting you the Chief God's Divine Energy that relaxing, then that means you truly are worthy of being her chosen one, as only those who are pure of heart find the experience relaxing." Sairel said.
Waking up with a jolt Shisui stammered out apologies.
"You needn't apologise Shisui, as I said you finding the experience relaxing is a good thing; it means you are worthy to wield the Chief God's Divine Energy." Sariel said.
Sariel gasped for a moment, and quietly nodded as if someone were talking in her ear.
"The Chief Goddess has instructed me that I take you back to Lescatie now as there is a very important mission where that you will be needed in." Sariel announced.
"I understand. Let's go." Shisui said confidently.
(Meanwhile in the Hidden Rain Village...)
A man with waist length unkempt silver hair and a dark blue funnel collar jacket gently knocked on the door
"You're late Jashin." A voice muffled by rebreather stated.
"My apologies for the delay Hanzo, I had to finalise the plans for the conquest of the Hidden Mist to make sure everything goes according to plan." Jashin explained.
"(Sigh) Fine. This matter better be of great importance if you needed to organize a meeting with me at such short notice." Hanzo groaned.
"Hanzo Hanzo, you know I wouldn't just ask to speak to you so soon if it were not such an important matter. Nullus!" Jashin called out as an individual wearing a black cloak and white mask appeared from out of thin air.
"Yes Lord Jashin?" He asked nonchalantly.
"Please tell Lord Hanzo about your recent findings." Jashin said with a wide grin.
"Ah yes. I've managed to track down the HQ of a certain thorn in your side, what was name again? Oh yes it was Nagato, although these days he goes by the alias Pain." Nullus announced casually.
Hanzo's eyes widened in disbelief.
"You've tracked down Nagato? Take me to him now so I can finish him off once and for all!" Hanzo ordered.
"Tsk tsk tsk, nothing for nothing Hanzo. Me and my subordinate will gladly help extinguish Nagato, under the condition that you swear loyalty to me." Jashin offered, his smirk growing ever wider.
Hanzo tried to think of a way out of this tight spot, on one hand he knew that this man's help would be extremely crucial in eliminating Nagato once and for all, thus securing his position as leader of the Hidden Rain, but on the other hand he absolutely despised being indebted to another. Swallowing his pride Hanzo accepted the offer.
"Pleasure doing business with you Hanzo. Nullus! Let us fulfil our end of the deal shall we?" Jashin said.
"Of course Lord Jashin." Nullus replied in a monotone voice as he teleported himself, Jashin and Hanzo to the entrance of a cave just outside the Hidden Rain Village.
A ripple in the air appeared with a man wearing an orange mask drapped in a black cloak with red clouds appeared.
"My my, it appears that this location has been compromised. I must admit you are smarted than I inititally thought Hanzo. How are these two fine gentlemen with you if I may ask?" The masked man asked in a smooth voice.
"A pleasure to meet you. I am Lord Jashin and this is my aide Nullus." Jashin announced.
"It is an honour to meet you Madara Uchiha, or should I say Obito?" Nullus greeted.
The masked man made a barely audible gasp of surprise.
"I assure you that I am none other than Madara Uchiha." The masked man said as he regained his composure.
Suddenly a man with orange hair and a woman with purple hair appeared next to the masked man, both wearing neutral looks on their faces.
"So you've finally come to meet your end you piece of trash? I will wipe you and your allies off the face of the Earth." The orange haired man declared.
"Almighty Push!" He cried out.
When the wind cleared, all that was left was a small crater where Jashin, Hanzo and Nullus used to be.
"You are tougher than I thought, as expected of Hanzo of the Salamander." Pain commented as he looked up to see Nullus, Jashin and Hanzo levitating in mid air.
Jashin smirked, which turned into a fit of laughter.
"You sure are brave to laugh in the face of a God." Pain commented as the trio gently landed on the ground.
"Look at you. A mere mortal who thinks himself as a God. Well then if that's how you want to play, I will show you the power of a true God." Jashin said smugly as he did various handsigns.
"Summoning! Impure World Resurrection!" Jashin cried out as a wooden coffin rose from the ground. The lid of the coffin opened and fell to the floor.
"No! it can't be!" Madara said in disbelief.
"Shocked I see? Yes 'Madara' this is indeed none other than the Sage of Six Path's son, Indra Otsutsuki, standing before your very eyes." Jashin stated.
"Son? I thought the Sage of the Six Paths had no children." Konan stated.
"No. He had two sons in fact. Indra and Ashura Otsutsuki. Indra was initially chosen to be the Sage of Six Path's successor, but because he believed that peace could only be achieved through force, he instead picked his younger son Ashura to be his successor, who believed that peace should be achieved through love. Jealous Indra fought his brother for the rest of his life." Madara explained.
"If the Sage had sons, then why did they seemingly vanish from history?" Konan asked.
"I'm not certain, but my best guess is so that nobody would try to exhume their bodies to study their abilities." Madara explained.
Jashin made a hand sign that made the seemingly sleeping Indra wake up.
"What? Where am I?" Indra asked.
"I shall explain all in good time Indra, now I simply need you to defeat those three first." Jashin ordered, gesturing towards Pain, Konan and Madara.
Indra snarled at the man. How dare this man order he, Indra Otsutsuki, the Son of the Sage of Six Paths and his true successor around like some kind of minion. With all his might Indra tried to instead kill this man who dared to talk down to him.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you." Jashin said as he reinforced his control over Indra.
(Damn...you..) Indra thought to himself.
"Amaterasu!" Indra cried out as black flames made their way towards Pain. Almost instinctively he jumped in the air to avoid the attack, with Konan and Madara retreating to the sidelines.
"Nagato!" Konan cried out.
"Konan. You and Madara stay back. I will handle him myself." Pain told her.
"Inferno Style: Flame Lighting!" Indra said as he held out his arm, drawing Pain closer to him.
Pain's thoughts: (What technique is this? It is just like the Deva Path's ability to attract objects to and from it.)
When Pain was within arm's reach of Indra a black sphere of chakra developed in his hand. Indra then unleashed the attack onto Pain, which sent him flying towards a nearby rock, smashing it into pieces.
Pain stood up from the attack barely fazed by it as he fixated his gaze upon Indra.
"It seems you are a formidable foe Indra, but today you shall witness pain." Pain declared as all of the Six Paths of Pain appeared next to him.
"Fool, you're barely a scratch to me, I'll show you what real pain is." Indra stated as he summoned his complete body Susano'o which was a bright purple and possessed six arms instead of the standard two.
"Impressive, I have never seen such a Susano'o before." Madara commented from the sidelines.
"I have a bad feeling about this, especially those two men next to Hanzo. We should help Nagato now before it is too late." Konan said.
"Do not worry. Nagato has this situation under control and besides, in the event the tide of the battle turns against him or Hanzo and his friends interfere we can simply step in." Madara reassured Konan calmly.
Without warning the space around Madara distorted as a kusarigama aiming for his heart simply struck thin air.
"You are going to have to try better than that if you ever hope to get the upper hand on me." Madara stated as he appeared behind the attacker, who was none other than Hanzo.
Hanzo kept his silence as he launched his kusarigama into the air.
"Dance of the Sickle Blade: Falling Descent Blade!"
Hanzo's blade descended towards Madara's position at a breakneck speed. Merely looking up it seemed as if Madara had wanted the blade to strike him until he used his intangibility jutsu again right before the kusarigama was about to strike him.
Taking note that Hanzo had complete forgotten about her, Konan used this opening to finish him off once and for all.
"Shikigami-" A blade pierced her abdomen before she could complete her jutsu.
"Y-you..." Konan croaked as she coughed up blood.
"Nothing personal Konan. But for Jashin's plan to succeed Hanzo must live and you must die." Nullus said cooly.
"You know I just realised it now, you bear an uncanny resemblance to Wilmarina." Nullus commented.
"Wil...ma...rina?" Konan muttered as she collapsed onto the rain soaked ground, dead.
Teleporting not too far away from the cave Madara analyzed the situation, qucikly realising that the odds were currently not in his favour.
Madara's thoughts: (These opponents are quite the strong foes indeed, Right now it would be suicide to fight all of them, especially with the Sage's son there. This is an annoying delay in my plans, but nothing I can't fix) And with the space around him distorting again, Madara quietly retreated from the battle.
The Asura path was the first to charge towards Indra's Susano'o. Indra scoffing at such a foolish charge merely grabbed the Path.
"How foolish." He remarked arrogantly as the Asura path's head opened up to reveal a cannon charging up chakra. Confident in his power Indra allowed the path to charge up it's cannon to maximum power, unleashing a devastating beam of chakra in it's wake.
Only except Indra and his Susano'o were left completely unfazed by the attack.
"Pathetic..." Indra derided as he pierced the Asura path with his Susano'o sword, making sure to destroy it completely by engulfing his sword with Amaterasu.
Indra then used his immense chakra reserves to summon a purple coloured lightning shaped arrow, with the Deva Path being the main target.
"Lightning stirke!" Indra cried out as the lightning bolt snaked it's way toward the Deva Path.
At the last moment the Human path jumped in front of the Deva Path, sacrificing itself in the process as it was vapoirsed to the atomic level.
Jashin: (Smart move Nagato. Under normal circumstances it would be the more logical choice to instead use the Preta Path to absorb the Ninjutsu attack. But because Indra's Amaterasu flames does not stop burning until for 7 days and 7 nights, it would not be worth the risk to sacrifice such a powerful path, hence why you used the Human Path to act as a Shield for the Deva Path instead.)
The remaining Paths; Deva, Animal, Preta and Naraka all regrouped together.
"Summoning jutsu!" The Animal Path said as it summoned a giant Multi Headed dog, Giant Ox and a Giant Drill beaked bird.
"(sigh) This battle will drag out too long with those annoying paths still there, let us even out the odds shall we?" Jashin suggested.
"Understood Lord Jashin." Nullus said as he, Jashin and Hanzo decided to enter the battle.
"Hanzo, all the paths are merely just reanimated corpses, so your poison would not work on them. I'd recommend summoning Ibuse to deal with the Animal Path. Nullus will deal with the Naraka Path and I shall handle that troublesome Preta path." Jashin stated as the trio readied their battle stances.
"Hanzo...now!" Jashin ordered.
"Ibuse!" Hanzo shouted as he summoned his signature summon. Ibuse breathed out a large purple cloud of poison which in this battle functioned more as a distraction than as a way to kill his opponent.
Hanzo threw his kusarigama towards the Animal Path, who dodged the blade with ease.
"Got you." Hanzo whispered as he pulled back his kusarigama. The Animal Path looked on in shock as the blade sliced it clean in half.
Nullus sprinted towards the Naraka path, intent on defeating it as quickly as possible.
"Disappear." He said as he extended his hand towards the Naraka path, enveloping it inside of a black sphere. When the Black Sphere disappeared there was nothing of the Naraka path left.
Now it was Jashin's turn to deal with his path; the Preta Path.
Jashin too began charging up a sphere of dark red chakra in his hand.
"You fool. I'll just absorb your ninjutsu." The Preta path said.
"Who said anything about this being ninjutsu?" Jashin asked confidently as the sphere grew to the size of a grapefruit.
"Wicked Annihilation Eruption!"
The red sphere of energy made it's way towards the Preta Path like a homing missle. The Preta Path placed it's right arm in front of it's body, expecting to simply absord the ninjutsu. What happened next was something it wasn't expecting. The red sphere instead sank into it's stomach as if were made of quicksand. For a few seconds nothing happened until the Preta Path's body began turning red. The Preta Path looked at both it's arms began to bubble. The bubbling eventually spread to it's entire body until the Path's entire body was destroyed in a violent explosion.
Pain's thoughts: (How is this possible? These people defeated the Paths as if they were Genin.)
"Indra. Deactivate your Susano'o." Jashin commanded.
"Consider myself lucky that you're just a lifeless puppet of Nagato and that I need him alive." Jashin declared.
Pain noticing how the battle had quickly turned against him, attempted one final Almighty Push on the group.
"That's enough." Indra declared as he grabbed the Deva Path's body with a Susano'o arm.
"He is inside this cave, follow me." Nullus advised as he leaded the group into the cave.
Indra during this time remained quiet with many thoughts running through his head. Just how had this man resurrected him from the dead? And not only that restored him to his physical prime, around 21-22 years old. Most baffling however, is how this man is able to control him to his bidding.
The group finally arrived in a large clearing inside the cave, where they noticed a pair of metal rods descending from the ceiling, all leading towards a humaniod figure.
"So...you've finally found me?" A weak voice called out.
"Nothing personal Nagato, I just happen to need those eyes of yours to complete my plan." Jashin explained.
"You know...nothing...I am a God...who will bring peace...to this world..." Nagato muttered weakly.
"You are such a naive child Nagato. No matter how many tantrums you throw or sob stories you spew the world will never work the way you want it to. You are merely just a deluded living corpse who surrounds himself with yes-men to inflate his own ego." Nullus spat out harshly.
"Gentlemen I understand you both want to engage in a philosophical debate but we're really on a tight schedule here gentlemen and need to get things done snappy. So, any last words Nagato?" Jashin asked.
"I...will-" Nagato was interrupted as Jashin yanked out both of his eyes, which made a wet squelching noise. Nagato screamed his lungs out as his bloodied eye sockets poured out blood like a waterfall. Even Indra didn't dare to look at the repulsive sight which almost made him feel like throwing up. Nagato violently thrashed his body and until he bled to death, which in turn caused the Deva Path being held by Indra's Susano'o arm to turn into ash.
"What? Never seen eyeballs before?" Jashin asked innocently
"I have, but I'd do not enjoy such sights and would rather avoid them when possible." Indra answered bluntly.
"Anywho...now that our mission here is done and Nagato is out of the picture, it's time to initiate the next phase of our plan. Hanzo, you will head back to the Hidden Rain Village and publicly announce the defeat of Pain. Nullus you are to head back to our world for the time being and gather more intel on Lilith's whores and those Orderite bucketheads." Jashin announced
"What about me?" Indra asked.
"You'll be coming with me Indra. The main reason I took Nagato's Rinnegan was so I could implant his eyes over my own and use the Samsara of Heavenly Life Technique to fully restore you back to life." Jashin explained.
"Rinnegan? I thought only father possessed it?" Indra asked curiously.
(Back at Lescatie)
"Your majesty." Shisui called out as he arrived at the Royal Chamber. Standing next to him were Sasha, Merse, Wilmarina, Primera, Mimil, Vermut and Paula all greeted him formally.
"Are we all here?" The King called out, with all the heroes in the room saying yes simulteaneously.
"Good. I have important announcement to make. Our scouts-" King Castor was cut off as several ear piercing screams were heard in the distance, which gradually grew louder and louder.
"Brace yourselves everyone." Merse instructed.
"Tense are we?" A mysterious voice called out. Everyone in the chamber all looked to see a man draped in a black cloak and white mask sitting relaxed on one of the enormous Chandeliers that hung above the court.
"You!" Merse spat out as she recognised who the source of the voice was, the same man who murdered all of those villagers on Shisui's first mission.
"I did not come here to fight." The man stated calmly. "I merely came here to deliver a message to you.
"Spit it out! Before I kill you on the spot!" Merse ordered.
"Feisty aren't we Merse? How rude of me, we've known each other for so long and I haven't even introduced myself. You may call me Nullus." Nullus introduced himself in a sarcastic manner.
"Before I begin though, I have something that may be of great importance to you." Nullus announced as he pulled out the head of-
"Father...?" Wilmarina said in disbelief.
"You...you monster!" Merse shouted.
"Hmm yes this is indeed the head of Casper Noscrim. You should've seen his final moments on this Earth, whimpering on the ground, praying to his God and beginning for me to spare his life..." Nullus monologued as he continued to look at the Priest's decapitated head.
"To think...he actually had the audacity to beg me to spare his life...when he and his goons denied that mercy to the mamono they slaughtered...and that's why killed that son of a bitch like the dog he was."
"Say that again!" Wilmarina dared Nullus as she gestured her sword towards Nullus.
"Allow me to cut to the chase. I have come here to kindly inform you all that this is just a taste of what's to come under my New World Order. One by one you will all face judgement." Nullus stated as he threw Priest Noscrim's head towards Wilmarina.
"Come back here you-"
"Wilmarina. He's gone." Shisui stated as he placed a hand on her shoulder. Wilmarina hurled various insults at the window where the man sat before slumping down on the ground, sobbing silently.
