A/N: The Vaudevillain Veteran here. Whew! This is my longest chapter yet at 21,454 words! So sorry for the wait everyone and sincerely hope you enjoy this chapter.
The morning sun rose over the Hidden Leaf Village and from afar the village looked peaceful as the sun's rays illuminated over the various buildings.
But amongst the common populace and even the council, gossip and news was hushed in almost every corner over what had transpired in the last 48 hours.
There was talk about the Uchiha clan's swift and sudden departure that left many confused. Overnight the Uchiha compound went from an isolated but bustling part of the village to becoming a ghost-town overnight. Those who did not know where left scratching their heads as to how and why Konoha's strongest clan just vanished overnight without a trace.
Then rumours began to arise that Danzo, the infamous war hawk of the Konoha council had died under mysterious circumstances that same night. Also to add fuel to the metaphorical fire it had been rumoured and later confirmed that Kakashi Hatake and Might Guy, two very promising Jonin of Konoha were currently MIA and no-where to be seen.
The whispers and murmurs were frantic in Konoha but were currently most prominent in the chamber another council meeting was called forth upon by the Fourth Hokage Minato Namikaze. The members of the Konoha council were currently engrossed in chatter with one another, discussing the last frantic 48 hours that the village was still trying to understand.
"Enough! All of you!" Minato's voice boomed, silencing everyone in attendance.
"I summoned you all here today because I had a very important announcement. A man claiming to be a god kidnapped my son on the same night the Uchiha clan left the village." Minato announced, causing the entire chamber to gasp in shock.
"Unbelievable!" One council member muttered out.
"Lord Fourth! Naruto! Is he still alive and safe?" Hiashi spoke up.
"Yes he is. And while they are not here at the moment I must offer my utmost thanks to the few remaining shinobi of the Village Hidden in the Mist who provided the necessary help to rescue my son." Minato stated.
"But a man in a white mask was there. It was the same man who I saw on that day that the Uchiha left fighting none other than Itachi Uchiha. I do not know who he is but I suspect he has malovent intentions. It was also this man who eliminated the cultists holding my son hostage and gave the Demon Brothers a brief yet vital window to find and rescue my son." Minato added, with the entire chamber eagerly listening.
"Lord Fourth! What about Kakashi Hatake and Might Guy!? Are we not going to send a search party to find them?"
"No. There is no need to since they left out of their own volition." Minato calmly said, surprising everyone.
"What do you mean Lord Fourth? Are you saying they willingly abandoned the village?" Hiashi asked Minato
"No not abandoned Lord Hiashi. I simply gave them my blessing to leave." Minato answered.
"But why Lord Fourth?" Hiashi asked again, trying to understand the reason behind Minato's decision.
"Because..." Minato sighed as he trailed off.
"Because Kakashi is my student, and the amount of pain and suffering he went through is something no person should ever have to experience. At first I was adamant about the Uchiha clan and Kakashi leaving Konoha, but a friend from long ago whom I and everyone in Konoha believed long dead convinced me that it was for the better that the Uchiha clan leave. Who was this old friend? It was Nawaki Senju, the younger brother of Lady Tsunade and grandson of the First Hokage." Minato explained himself.
The chamber again gasped in disbelief, the murmurs from earlier returned and were even more frantic than before.
"N-Nawaki Senju? But he's been dead for over twenty years! How could he have possibly come back from the dead?" The leader of the Inuzuka clan Tsume Inuzuka asked Minato.
"According to him he did in fact die, but his soul did not depart to the Pure Land. Instead he mentioned that these beings called "mamono" restored him back to life." Minato answered.
"Amazing. And what exactly are these mamono Lord Fourth? And what are they capable of?" Hiashi frantically asked Minato.
"To be honest I do not truly know the extent of their powers. But if they could bring back Nawaki from the dead then I believe they are not to be underestimated. However though from what Nawaki told me they are benevolent beings who only desire to live in peaceful co-existence with humans and find husbands to marry." Minato said.
"Husbands to marry? That sounds rather too good to be true Lord Fourth." Shikaku commented.
"Perhaps you are right Shikaku. But I trust Nawaki's word in that these mamono are righteous by virtue. Which is why I allowed the Uchiha clan and Kakashi to leave our village for they deserve to live better lives there." Minato stated.
"And what about Might Guy Lord Fourth? Why did he leave as well?" Inochi spoke up.
"Guy claimed he wanted to leave with the Uchiha clan to be there for Kakashi. I had no reason to deny his request especially since he was the perhaps the only true friend Kakashi had after Rin and Obito's deaths." Minato said to Inoichi.
"I see. I will not question your judgement Lord Fourth, for you have helped us through our darkest times when our village was nearly destroyed by the Kyubi all those years ago." Inoichi stated.
"Thank you Inochi. I can assure you your faith in me is not misplaced." Minato replied.
"But Lord Fourth. What do we do about those crazy cultists who took over the Hidden Mist Village and kidnapped your son? Surely we cannot allow them to just continue as is." Hiashi asked.
"You are right Hiashi. I fought their leader, and I must say he was perhaps one of the toughest opponents I have ever fought." Minato said.
"(Sigh) But I am afraid that I cannot defeat him and neither can our village take him on at this moment. We will need allies, powerful allies who can help us defeat him for good." Minato woefully added.
"Don't tell me...are you saying that we must ally with the other Great Shinobi nations to face this threat in the Mist?" Homura asked Minato.
"No Homura. We are not going to ask them for help. We are going to ask the ones who brought Nawaki back to life, the mamono, to help us." Minato answered.
"Lord Fourth are you serious? Not only do we have no means to contact them we also do not know these beings and what their true intentions are. Surely there must be another more reasonable way to attain allies." Homura calmly objected.
"Yes I am serious Homura. Did you forget how the Cloud reneged on their deal and attempted to kidnap Hiashi's daughter? How the Stone responded to our offer of peace by outright declaring war against us in return? Or how the Sand too has constantly waged war against us under the belief that they are entitled to half of the Land of Fire's land? Rest assured we will find a way to solve that issue soon Homura, but right now it is not in the best interest of Konoha to ally with the other major villages given our history with them." Minato answered.
Homura's frown deepened further at Minato's statement. He knew that the Hokage's mind could not be changed no matter what. Sighing to himself he could only comply with the Hokage's demand and hope for the best.
"Very well then Lord Fourth. You make a good point in that the other villages are not to be trusted given our history. So therefore I shall place my complete and utmost trust in you to find and hopefully begin an alliance with these 'mamono'. Homura stated.
"Thank you Homura. I appreciate your trust in me and assure you it is not misplaced. This session is now over!" Minato announced as the Clan leaders and council members rose from their seats to leave the chamber.
Minato had plans on the other hand and teleported away once the session was over, however he did not teleport to the Hokage mansion as would be expected of someone of his position but instead teleported to an outpost on the outskirts of the Hidden Leaf Village.
"You're late Minato." Zabuza groaned, sitting on the cold stone floor of the hideout.
"I'm sorry Zabuza. The meeting went on far longer than I had anticipated." Minato apologised, before sighing softly.
"Where are the Demon Brothers?" Minato asked.
"They went out to go train. They should be back soon." Zabuza answered the Fourth Hokage.
"And what about that little boy you took in? Does he need any food or water? I can-"
"He's fine. And that boy's name is Haku, and I will make sure he is fine no matter what." Zabuza confidently interrupted Minato.
"I see. That's good to hear then. When the brothers get back I-"
As if on cue said Demon Brothers opened the door to the hideout. Their clothes were tattered but were overall fine.
"Gozu. Meizu. It's good to see you." Minato greeted the Demon Brothers, who answered him by uttering out a weak and nonchalant hello.
"I'm sorry for what happened to your village. I understand we were not the best of allies but-"
"Cut the crap Minato. I know you didn't come all this way just to do a wellness inspection. What is it you really want to say to us?" Zabuza irritably asked Minato.
"Well I guess you figured it out huh? I have a mission for you three, but before I can issue said mission I want to ask a question. Gozu, Meizu, is it true that you both found a highly advanced room of the coast of the Land of Water?" Minato asked the Demon Brothers.
"Yes. We stumbled upon it while on our way to the Mist to rescue your son. The room was akin to a floating island off the coast and when both me and Meizu entered the room we saw these colourful buttons, but one blue one stuck out to us. It was the biggest one there, no doubt the most important one. I was about to press it until my brother told me we still had a mission to do, which was saving your son of course. I will admit I was annoyed, but left nonetheless." Gozu explained to Minato, who listened very attentively.
"Interesting. So the rumour is true then." Minato commented.
"Why exactly do you ask about that room Minato?" Meizu now asked.
"I suspect there is more than meets the eye with that room. I have a mission for you three. The Leaf is in need of powerful allies to stand against the cultists that took over your village, however at the moment the Leaf doesn't have the manpower to stand up to them." Minato stated.
"And what are you proposing Minato?" Zabuza asked Minato.
"That you help find the allies who can stand up to the cultists." Minato stated.
"Oh really? And what are they called?" Gozu asked.
"They are a species entirely different from humans. They call themselves mamono. Find them if you can, and tell their leader or one of their higher ranking superiors that the Fourth Hokage of the Village Hidden in the Leaves requests their assistance in fighting a being named Jashin." Minato announced the new mission for the trio.
"Alright Minato, we will do this mission for you, but under the condition that this mission be declared an S-Rank mission." Zabuza told Minato.
"Understood." Minato firmly said as he offered a handshake.
"Very well then. A pleasure doing business with you, Lord Fourth." Zabuza said as he shook Minato's hand, particularly saying Minato's title in a sarcastic manner as he and the brothers used the body flicker technique to teleport away, beginning their new mission.
(With the third Mizukage...)
Ketsueki jumped through the trees of this world's forest at a steady pace. Due to his status as a rouge Edo Tensei he did not need food water or rest and he had still yet to fully come to grips with his newfound freedom. The thought of being controlled against his will by some insane god disgusted and frightened him at the same time.
Ketsueki's mind: (Just who in the world was that Jashin commanding me around like a puppet? Why was he forcing me to go after a shinobi of my own village? What is his endgame? What is my part in all of this?)
The third Mizukage continued to wonder about his thoughts, he heard a defeaning cry that made the birds in the forest fly into the air.
"What was that?" Ketsueki spoke out, rushing towards the source of the noise. Finally arriving at the scene of the commotion Ketsueki spotted three men adorned in elegant metal armour all surrounding a kneeling woman who to the Third Mizukage's confusion, had wings were her arms should have been and claws for feet.
"I-I'm only a m-messenger." The woman weakly croaked out.
"Lies! You are on your way to the Demon Lord's castle to inform her of how to attack Siliria!" The Knight bellowed, gesturing his swords at the Harpy.
Ketsueki's mind: (Amazing? Could that be one of those so called "monster girls" Jashin told me about? She has to be but then why are those men threatening her?)
Having enough of what he was seeing Ketsueki's shinobi instincts kicked in when he saw one of these men punch and then kick the harpy whilst she lay on the ground with his two comrades joining in.
"Ahhhhh!"
All three men frozen in place. The Harpy looked on in confusion at why all of a sudden the three men stopped attacking her.
"You whore! What magic is this you've used on us!" One of the knights angrily asked as he tried in vain to regain control of his body.
"That would be me gentlemen." Ketsueki smoothly answered as he finally revealed himself to the three knights
"Just who in God's name are you? Release us at once!" The red haired knight ordered.
"You imbecile? Why are you restraining a fellow human? You should be doing this instead to this whore as he slit her throat ear to ear!" The brown haired knight commented, trying in vain to convince Ketsueki to release them.
"No. I don't think I will until my conditions are met." Ketsueki calmly said.
"And if you don't comply..." Ketsueki trailed off as without warning the man who held the Harpy hostage blew up in a bloody mess.
"That, will happen to you all." He finished, not even acknowledging the gory sight before him.
"U-understood. What are your requests?" One of the knights begrudgingly asked.
"First, you will release the girl. Second, you will take me to your leader."
(In the Hidden Mist village...)
The leader of the Akatsuki sat around a table in deep thought. Today was finally the day he will eliminate the r thatoot cause of all the suffering in his life; the Chief God of Jashin's world. The being who who was responsible for everything bad that had happened in his life.
Nagato's mind: (Yahiko, mother, father...today I shall finally avenge your deaths. That false god who sentenced you all to death will feel all of your pain.)
Pain's hands trembled in anger at the thought of the Chief God, so much so that he had failed to notice a certain red haired man enter the room he sat in.
"Good morning Lord Pain." Sasori formally greeted the Akatsuki leader.
"Good morning Sasori. To what do I owe the pleasure of your private audience?" Pain asked Sasori, not even looking at him.
"I wanted to ask if we will still be moving forward with our plan to invade this Heaven since Nullus informed me via his ring that he had been captured." Sasori informed Pain.
"Yes we will. The plan shall continue with or without Nullus." Pain sternly answered Sasori.
"I see Lord Pain. But what about Nullus? Are we going to rescue him?" Sasori asked Pain.
"Maybe." Pain nonchalantly answered Sasori.
The door to the room where Pain and Sasori conversed was swung open by a member of the Kaguya clan. His facial expression was one of anxiety and worry.
"Lord Pain! Lord Jashin has personally requested your audience!" The Kaguya clan member frantically informed Pain.
"Hmmm. What does Jashin want to discuss with me?" Pain asked the clan member.
"H-he never told me Lord Pain! He only requested that I inform you that you are to meet with him at the top of the Mizukage building!" The clan member answered Pain.
"Very well then. Sasori. You are to remain here while I discuss matters with Jashin. Am I understood?" Pain announced to Sasori, who replied with a formal "yes"
Arriving at his destination Pain found Jashin smoking a pipe as he looked down upon the Village Hidden in the Mist with a smug expression.
"Hello Nagato. I sincerely apologise for calling you up here so early but there was an urgent matter that I needed to discuss with you." Jashin said to Pain.
"And that would be?" Pain spoke out.
"I was conducting research on the Village Hidden in the Whirlpools and when I scoured for more information on the survivors of it's destruction well... what I found was rather interesting...You and Sasori have much more in common than you think." Jashin cheekily answered Pain.
"What do you mean Jashin?" Pain asked the former Demon Lord.
"I discovered that your mother and Sasori's father were brother and sister. Meaning that you and him are in fact cousins." Jashin revealed to Pain.
Despite this revelation though, Pain was seemingly indifferent towards it.
"Does Sasori know of this?" Pain calmly asked Jashin.
"No, he does not. At least not yet." Jashin answered Pain.
"Good. Do not tell him that just yet." Pain told Jashin.
"Why if I may ask?" Jashin asked the Akatsuki leader.
"Because now is not the right time. Once we have accomplished our goals only then I believe it will be the right time to do so." Pain answered Jashin.
"Understandable." Jashin said with a smile on his face.
"Are all of our preparations complete for the invasion?" Pain asked Jashin.
"Yes. I even took the liberty of temporarily recalling Indra and Orochimaru from their missions to provide assistance." Jashin answered Pain.
"Good." Pain simply answered.
"Before we go, I advise that if you do happen to cross paths with Nullus again you should kill him." Jashin advised.
"Why?" Pain asked, curious as to why Jashin would want one of his subordinates dead.
"He's a traitor simple as that. The backstabber has secretly been leaking our plans to Lilith and her whores this whole time." Jashin spat out.
20 Minutes later and the entire Kaguya clan, Akatsuki, Obito and Jashin all stood in front of a massive metal ring in the centre of the Hidden Mist Village. Indra and Orochimaru too were in attendance and were both eager for what was to transpire soon.
"My devout followers! All of us today have waited years for this moment! Patiently we waited for years in the cold and damp caves of the Land of Water for this day to come! Yagura and his forces foolishly believed they would be able to take us on! Little did they know that our might and determination was simply too much for them! Now on this day we will finally kill the Chief God and become one step closer to achieving our dream!" Jashin bellowed out to his fanatical followers.
"PRAISE BE TO LORD JASHIN!" The entire Kaguya clan, including Yoshanai, shouted in unison.
"Crazy lunatics." Kakuzu muttered under his breath.
"Lord Pain, do you have anything to add?" Jashin asked the Akatsuki leader.
"No." Pain said.
"Alright then...my loyal followers! Let us commence the Falling of the Skies!" Jashin cried out. Turning around smug, Jashin held his hands out in front of him, which glowed a bright reddish orange as the metal ring suddenly activated, revealing a landscape on the other side where golden clouds below the pathway shone brightly. A path connected the portal and the pristine golden gates that protected Heaven.
"For Lord Jashin!" Yoshanai cried out as he charged in first, with the hundreds of other Kaguya clan members charging in after him. From a watchtower on the other side two Valkyries spotted the charging Kaguya clan members.
"How did they get here?" One asked.
"I do not know, but we need to warn everyone and inform the Chief God at once!" The second one answered as she flew away and into the citadel.
Next to charge in after the Kaguya Clan where Kakuzu and Sasori, who carefully inspected their surroundings to ensure they were not snuck up upon.
The rest of the Akatsuki, including Indra and Orochimaru followed suit until it was only Pain, Obito and Jashin left.
"Pain, Tobi, anything to say before we kill the Chief God?" Jashin smugly asked Pain.
"No." Both Pain and Tobi said in unison.
Jashin shrugged, before entering the portal to Heaven with Pain and Tobi close behind him.
Heaven's backup had finally arrived as the Valkyrie reinforcements finally showed up. Their numbers easily numbered in the hundreds and potentially thousands. The Valkyries that arrived quickly disposed of a good amount of the Kaguya clan.
Whilst Pain ran towards the gates two Valkyries attempted to ambush him.
"Almighty Push."
Pain calmly muttered as he outstretched his arms, sending the two Valkyries flying away.
Continuing on his quest to locate the Chief God Pain ran towards and upon reaching the gates jumped over them.
Upon landing on the other side another Valkyrie waited there with an entire battalion.
"What business do you have here mortal? You are neither dead nor worthy of being here." The Valkyrie sternly said to Pain.
"I am here on a mission to kill the Chief God once and for all." Pain answered the Valkyrie, unfazed by their superior numbers.
"Hmmpf. And just who do you think you are barging into this holy domain believing a mere mortal such as yourself can single handedly bring down the Chief God?" The Valkyrie angrily asked Pain.
"How you ask?" Pain asked the Valkyrie.
In a poof of smoke five other people all with the same hair colour and piercings as Pain all showed up beside him.
"We are Pain! We are God!" The Six Paths of Pain declared in unison.
"Lies! You are nothing but a false God! I will show you what real pain is!" The Valkyrie angrily declared as she flew at Pain faster than the eye could see.
Her sword that she intended to strike the Deva Path with was intercepted by one of the blades of the Asura Path.
"Impossible! What sorcery is this?" The Valkyrie uttered out in confusion.
"I told you. We are Pain, and until you have truly felt what real Pain is like only then you will understand. Now..."
"Accept Judgement!" Pain cried out as he punched the Valkyrie square in the chest, sending her flying. The other paths of Pain quickly joined in to all simultaneously pummel the Valkyrie before the Asura Path threw the Valkyrie into the air.
The Valkyrie's eyes widened as she saw these six humans all descend upon her with black rods, all hitting her with deadly accuracy.
Battered, beaten and with six rods embedded in her body the Valkyrie looked up at Pain with a hateful glare.
"Y-you w-won't get away with t-this." The Valkyrie croaked out as her breathed gradually became slower and slower until all life in her ceased.
Pain merely looked at the dead Valkyrie and nonchalance as he continued his quest to locate and kill the Chief God.
Meanwhile the other shinobi were doing reasonably well against their formidable foes. Indra unleashed his full body six armed Susano'o to fight the Valkyries and had currently killed close to 50 of them. Currently only two Valkyries remained to fight the elder son of Hagoromo, and both of them held their shoulders to ease their pain.
"Is that all the so called children of Heaven have to offer?" Indra's voice echoed from his Susano'o.
"Just what are you?" The one Valkyrie asked him.
"Who am I you ask? I am the rightful heir to Ninshu, soon to be God and son of the Sage of Six Paths. My name is Indra Otsutsuki." Indra introduced himself to the Valkyries.
"Otsutsuki? That name sounds familiar." The second Valkyrie commented.
"It does. That's because it's the same name of that human man who helped that succubus overthrow the previous Demon Lord. I believe his name was Hagoromo." The first Valkyrie answered the second's question.
"Unbelievable! That's his son!? If his father was allied with and helped Lilith overthrow Jashin then why is his son allied with Jashin?" The second Valkryie asked.
"Why did I ally myself with Jashin you ask? It's simple. He has offered me power and wealth far beyond you could ever imagine." Indra answered the two Valkyries.
"Wealth? Power? You really believe that is a good reason to betray your own species? You would willingly abandon humanity simply for earthly desires?" The first Valkyrie asked Indra.
Indra rolled his eyes at the Valkyries statement, before softly chuckling.
"Yes. Humans are at the end of the day nothing but an ungrateful, self serving, vile, greedy and warmongering species. I once used to naively believe in the good of people like my idiot brother and father thinking that the so called innate "good" of humans would prevail no matter the circumstances. That was until I saw first hand the barbarity they killed each other with." Indra passionately explained himself before the Valkyries.
"I learnt the hard way that humans cannot be left to their own devices. They need to be controlled in order for peace to be maintained in the world. And that is why I want to become a God King so that I may ensure this peace is never broken!" Indra added to his previous statement.
"You'll be very disappointed to learn that humans will not simply allow themselves to-"
A fireball made of a mixture of normal and black flames shot out from Indra's Susano'o, hitting the Valkyrie with pinpoint accuracy and sending her tumbling to the floor below.
The final remaining Valkyrie could only look on in horror as her comrade was obliterated by a hellish fireball that continued to burn despite her already being dead.
Slash
The final remaining Valkyrie was cut clean in half by the sword of Indra's Susano'o.
"Pathetic." Indra muttered to himself as he flew away from the scene and towards the tallest tower in the Heavenly citadel.
Standing at the base of the tower were Jashin, Pain and Obito. All three looked up in wonder at the massive structure that appeared to be made out of solid gold.
"So she's inside there?" Obito curiously asked Jashin.
"Yes. This is the same tower where I would conduct my secret meetings with the Chief God." Jashin confirmed.
"Good." Was all Obito said as he took out the giant gunbai placed on his back.
"Would you look at that? We have company gentlemen." Jashin commented as dozens more Valkyries descended from the higher floors of the tower. Also from behind them hundreds of more Valkyries beelined towards their location.
Pain was unfazed however and merely stared down the hundreds of furious Valkyries all wanting his blood.
"Jashin, Tobi. You take on the Valkyries coming from the tower. I will take on the ones behind us." Pain instructed the other two.
Pain outstretched his right hand and in it a black orb the size of a grapefruit formed. Now he just had to wait for the right moment to begin his attack.
"Die." Pain muttered out as he threw the black orb into the sky, which sucked in not only most of the Valkyries but also all matter nearby, effectively creating a miniature planet.
The Asura Path readied it's gun and fired a beam of energy at the miniature planet without hesitation, killing all the Valkyries trapped within it.
The few that remained alive looked in disbelief in horror at what they had just witnessed.
"Do you see know what real pain is like? You all have gotten soft because of Lilith showing you all too much mercy and thus became weak. Now that you all face someone who will not hesitate to kill you you can do nothing but look on helplessly as I kill your comrades." Pain declared.
"But you are not who I am here for. The Animal Path shall deal with you vermin." Pain added as he used his gravitational manipulation to fly up the tower and into a nearby window that was broken by a Valkyrie most likely. To his fortune he entered a staircase and soon ran up it.
Meanwhile with the other Akatsuki members Sasori and Kakuzu were both holding out rather impressively.
"(Pant) Damn (Pant) These cockroaches are tougher than I thought." Kakuzu uttered out between breaths.
"(Pant) Indeed (Pant) perhaps we (Pant) might have underestimated them?" Sasori asked his colleague.
"No. We can still beat them, but not with just brawn. A fine shinobi must also know how to analyze his opponents, discover their weaknesses and strike when the time is ready." Kakuzu explained to Sasori.
"Good point Kakuzu. I will begin my 100 puppet performance and at the same time you will utilise all five of your masks. That way we can overwhelm our opponents and kill them." Sasori answered Kakuzu.
"Understood. Here they come and..." Kakuzu said as dozens of more Valkyries charged at the duo. Anticipating their attack Kakuzu prepared all his masks in advance
"Lightning Release: False Darkness!"
The first Valkyrie had barely dodged his jutsu, albeit at the cost of severely burning the right side of her body and three of her wings and thus, sent her crashing.
"Water Style: Water Dragon Jutsu!"
The water mask's jutsu completely missed the Valkyrie. much to Kakuzu's chagrin.
Kakuzu had one final trick up his sleeve though. That being combining his fire and wind masks to create a nearly unstoppable jutsu.
The Valkyrie was less than 5 metres away from him and Kakuzu readied his masks to unleash his hellish jutsu on her.
Clang
Only except her blade was intercepted by one of their newest Akatsuki members Yamikura Kaguya.
The Valkyrie looked on surprise as her blade was intercepted by a sword that looked to be made of bone, before pushing this new foe away with her tremendous physical strength.
"Filthy abomination." The Valkyrie coldly muttered as she looked down upon Yamikura.
Raising her hand the Valkyrie summoned forth a lightning bolt, which Yamikura dodged with relative ease.
"Kakuzu! I have a plan." Yamikura called out whilst she was engaged in an intense battle of blades with the Valkyrie.
"Hmmm? What is it brat?" Kakuzu asked in his usual cranky tone.
"Your masks! Hit me with all of their jutsu so that I can kill this one." Yamikura further explained as she continued her dance of blades.
"Smart move brat. Let me know when you're ready." Kakuzu complimented Yamikura.
Yamikura, smirking, created distance between herself and the Valkyrie by creating multiple water clones to confuse her.
The Valkyrie frantically looked around in an attempt to find the real Yamikura. She spotted her in the process of her ritual and beelined toward her position.
Slash
The third Kazekage puppet of Sasori slashed the Valkyrie through the chest, and while it did not harm her too much due to her divinity it created a necessary window for Yamikura to complete her ritual.
Wasting no time Yamikura dashed towards the distracted Valkyrie and upon nearing her jumped a good 30 feet into the air to slash her with one of her bone swords.
"Kakuzu now!" Yamikura issued the signal.
Kakuzu swiftly unleashed all five of his masks high up into the sky right above Yamikura before all unleashing their respective jutsu upon Yamikura, who welcomed their attacks with open arms.
Closing her eyes in satisfaction Yamikura reveled in the shared pain between herself and the Valkyrie. She knew that due to Jashin's blessing she would not be killed by Kakuzu's attack, but the Valkyrie would.
The Valkyrie that Yamikura had stabbed to create a "link" between them had effectively been turned into ash by Kakuzu's attack as there was nothing left of her.
"You're welcome brat." Sasori spat out from afar.
Yamikura merely shot Sasori a look of disproval before walking away from the master puppeteer and towards Kakuzu.
"I haven't seen Kabuto or Orochimaru. Do you reckon they are still alive?" Yamikura asked Kakuzu.
"Most probably." Kakuzu responded.
And speaking of the devil, Yamikura spotted in the distant Kabuto and Orochimaru. Approaching them Yamikura noticed that Kabuto's Akatsuki cloak was mostly in tatters, blood seeped from his head and his glasses were cracked. Orochimaru too was in a similar condition, albeit not as severe as Kabuto's.
"Where were you two? We thought you died along with most of my clan" Yamikura asked the duo.
"Sorry about that. I-I just took a breather. Those angels really done me in." Kabuto explained himself with an exasperated voice.
"Pity. You're in no condition to continue." Yamikura commented.
"Yeah you got that right. I'll just stay behind here with Orochimaru while you and the others assist Lord Pain." Kabuto said.
"Alright. Orochimaru, watch over Kabuto while me, Kakuzu and Sasori provide help for Lord Jashin and Lord Pain." Yamikura told Orochimaru as without another word, body flickered away.
Once she and the other Akatsuki members were gone Kabuto chuckled softly, before erupting into laughter.
"They are so naïve Lord Orochimaru." Kabuto chuckled as he used his medical ninjutsu to treat his injuries.
"Indeed Kabuto. Such feeble minds that are easily deceived." Orochimaru chuckled in agreement.
"Now...let us begin our true mission." Orochimaru added.
Kabuto nodded in agreement and upon healing himself sufficiently enough walked up to the Valkyrie that was incapacitated from Kakuzu's lightning jutsu. She lay on the ground, her entire right arm burnt to a crisp by Kakuzu's attack.
"G-get a-away from m-me you monsters!" The Valkyrie objected, scurrying away from the duo.
"But if I did then that would defeat the purpose of me being here." Orochimaru answered the Valkyrie in his usual sinister tone.
"W-what d-do you want from me!?" The Valkyrie asked with panic evident in her voice.
"Many things dear. But for starters I want your body." Orochimaru answered, causing said Valkyrie's eyes to widen in fear.
"M-my body!? N-no! I would r-rather be killed first than have my purity taken from m-me!" The Valkyrie protested.
"Oh he doesn't mean it in that sense." Kabuto clarified, wearing a sinister grin on his face that easily rivalled Orochimaru's.
"No. I will simply impart my soul into your body." Orochimaru added.
"Heretics! Monsters! You both deserve to rot in hell for all eternity!" The Valkyrie angrily stated.
Orochimaru in response laughed at the Valkyrie's weak attempt at defiance. He raised his hand in front his face and in a swift motion ripped it off as it were a mask.
Beneath his so called "mask" was still Orochimaru's face, albeit it was one of a woman and bore more of a resemblance to a doll than an actual human.
The Valkyrie gasped in disbelief at what she had just witnessed. In all her life never had she seen a human peel of their face as if it were nothing but a layer of skin to be shed. Even the mamono, who were sworn enemies of her leader and creator the Chief God were nothing in comparison to this...thing.
"You! You're not human! You're a demon!" The Valkyrie cried out.
Back with Pain he had upon reaching the top of the tower of gold spotted both Obito and Jashin eagerly waiting for him in front of a giant golden door.
"Behold Pain. For this is the door where the Chief God dwells on the other side." Jashin commented.
Smirking slightly Jashin used his powers to destroy the door.
The other side of said door was rather underwhelming considering that a God dwelled here. It was merely a medium sized room with various bookshelves and a fireplace, akin to a cabin one might find in the forests of Earth.
"So Jashin. You finally revealed your face to me after nearly a millennia?" A soft feminine voice echoed.
"You knew I would be coming back Ilias. You know full well that Lilith has tampered with the cycle that we need to fix." Jashin cheekily answered.
"I am indeed very aware of that Jashin. But if you could not even defeat a penis loving whore what good are you to me?" The Chief God asked Jashin.
"Oh I wouldn't advise counting me out just yet Ilias. You see unlike you I actually learn from my mistakes." Jashin confidently answered the Chief God.
"The only mistake I made was trusting you to defeat Lilith and her traitor husband." The Chief God Ilias snapped back.
"You underestimate Lilith Ilias, and that will be your downfall. However I did not come here to enforce our deal." Jashin replied.
"Then what did you come here for? To kill me?" The Chief God angrily asked.
"Not exactly per se. Let's just say that in your actions to continue your cycle of suffering you had angered many humans who want your head served on a platter." Jashin answered Ilias.
Pain then stepped forward. He said absolutely nothing as his hateful glare met the eyes of Ilias with his fists shook in pure anger
"I know who you are, I know your real name. You are Nagato Uzumaki of the Hidden Rain Village, son of Fuso Uzumaki and Ise. Am I correct?" The Chief God spoke up.
"Nagato Uzumaki is dead. I am a survivor of the cruel world you had created. I, am Pain." Pain introduced himself.
"Pain?" Ilias asked curiously, before chuckling softly.
"I know how everything about you Nagato. I know your ideals, views on how this world should be run and of course the suffering you have witnessed in your twenty six years of life. Please do not hate me, you must understand that there cannot be peace without suffering. Think of it as taking one for the team as you humans say." The Chief God attempted to reason with Pain.
"And what about my friends and parents? Were their lives not useful enough for you to save?" Pain asked the Chief God.
"You do not get it do you? Your parents and Yahiko needed to die to ensure the cycle must continue. Everything has to be equally balanced. And if you have too much peace or too much suffering than you will disturb the balance. You are looking at this from a mortal perspective and not at the bigger picture." Ilias told Pain.
Pain's arms shook in anger at the Chief God's statement. She saw no value in human life, and only saw others as a means to an end in her grand game.
"That is your problem. You are not human and do not understand human emotions, what makes us love and what makes us hate. Love is both a blessing and a curse for love breeds sacrifice, which in turn breeds hatred. Only then can you know pain." Pain stated.
"When you are a God you cannot allow emotions to cloud your judgement." Ilias simply answered Pain back, completely ignoring his previous statement.
"You are nothing a representation of everything that is wrong with this world. You have the means to bring out peace but willingly chose not to do so out of arrogance. Even the most ignorant, innocent child will eventually grow up as they learn what true pain is. It affects what they say, what they think and then...only then do they become real people." Pain stated without a silent anger in his voice.
"Is that so? The cycle of life is a necessary evil to ensure balance in the universes. If there is no balance than all of reality will collapse in on itself. Which is why even if by some unlikely chance you kill me it will only cause more bad than good in the long run." The Chief God nonchalantly responded.
"This desire for vengeance, is that what too brought you here Obito?" Ilias curiously asked the masked man standing beside Pain.
"Obito? Is that your real name?" Pain asked Tobi.
"Yes it is." Obito responded as he took off his mask, dropping it and shattering into a dozen pieces upon impact with the ground.
"That doesn't matter to me anymore who I was. All that matters right now is killing you." Obito declared.
"Very well then. Let us commence our battle so that I may end your miserable existence." Ilias replied as she assumed a battle position.
Wasting no time Pain fired a black energy sphere at Ilias.
To his surprise though she merely responded to his attack by outstretching her right arm from where a white light glowed.
"That is the first time someone has ever absorbed my Planetary Devastation." Pain commented.
"Where did you think the power from your eyes came from boy?" Ilias smugly stated.
"So you created the Rinnegan?" Pain asked Ilias.
"Indeed. Although I only put about 10% of my power into those eyes as a safety precaution that whoever wielded them could not successfully use them against me." The Chief God explained.
"Fire Style! Bomb Blast Dance!"
Obito's jutsu completely enveloped Ilias. Although once the flames cleared she remained unharmed.
"Pitiful." Ilias commented as in an instant she teleported to Obito and held him by the neck.
Obito through sheer resilience broke free from her grip and jumped a good 10 feet away from Ilias.
"Wood Style: Cutting Technique!"
Hundreds of wooden spikes shot out from Obito's hands.
Ilias smirked as she did not even move from the impending spikes headed her direction. Summoning a shield to protect her from Obito's attack.
Ilias noticed in the corner of her eye that to her left, a large black hand from Indra's Susano'o punched her shield, causing it to vibrate violently and even party shatter it.
"What!?" Ilias cried out in disbelief.
Ilias cried out in pain as a few of Obito's Wooden spikes hit her. They stung immensely, but were no where near enough to fatally injure her.
While the Chief God was distracted by both Indra destroying her shield and Obito's own wooden jutsu said Uchiha utlisied the opportunity to punch her square in the jaw.
"That was for Rin you bitch!" Obito spat out as he punched Ilias again, this time in the stomach.
Obito attempted a third strike aimed for the Chief God's head. Although unlike the previous two times she caught his hand.
"If that weak punch was for Rin then it is no wonder she died." Ilias commented whilst squeezing Obito's hand.
Obito growled in anger at the Chief God's comment. Then in an instant his wrathful facial expression turned into one of a smirk.
Ilias looked at Obito in confusion, just what was he smirking about she asked herself.
Then she noticed it, Obito's right eye began to distort in a spiral fashion and even sucked her in as well.
When it had ended Ilias noticed that she was in a black void where all around her were simply floating cubes that made up the "floor"
"Kamui huh? A clever technique Obito. But one that cannot work on a God." Ilias arrogantly stated as her voiced echoed throughout the dimension.
Obito however did not respond and continued to remain hidden.
"I have no time for a game of cat and mouse. If you do not desire to fight me head on then I shall simply dispel this cheap trick of yours myself." Ilias declared as with a swift circular motion of her hands, she and Obito were back in her room.
"No!" Obito cried out as he finally made himself visible to Ilias once again.
"Yes. You always were a weak and easily influenced child Obito. Your very existence is a mistake. But don't worry, I'll put you out of your misery soon enough." Ilias commented.
Ilias then noticed Indra looking at her, and chuckled at the irony of the situation.
"And well well well what do we have here? Hagoromo's son is here as well?" If there is one thing you and your father have in common is allying yourselves with Demon Lords." Ilias said sarcastically.
"I don't care about my deluded father. I want answers! How much did you meddle in my worlds affairs? Are you the reason why my mother died? And are you the reason my world was devastated by three great wars?" Indra barked out.
"You want answers hmm? Very well then, I shall oblige." Ilias responded as she cleared her throat.
"Let's go back to the beginning shall we? A long time ago your grandmother arrived on your world's version of Earth. She was a curious yet naïve individual when she first arrived. She met and fell in love with your grandfather and eventually they conceived two twins; your father and your uncle who exiled himself to the moon. It was this point I quickly realised that if I did not do anything the situation would become a repeat of Lilith and her traitor husband, so I pulled some strings to ensure that didn't happen." Ilias revealed.
"Pulled some strings? What do you mean!?" Indra asked aloud.
"That I sent some messengers of mine who whispered rumours into the ear of your grandfather to make him paranoid and fearful of Kaguya. To my utmost delight it worked and soon Tenji double crossed Kaguya under the belief she was to betray him, thus ensuring that the cycle had been saved and my experiment in creating my ideal world worked." Ilias smugly answered.
"What do you mean by 'creating your own ideal world'?" Indra snapped back again.
"What I mean boy, is that your world is simply an offshoot of the original. The one inhabited by those whores and my underlings was the original created by my predecessor. Now for thousands of years my predecessor diligently ensured the cycle of peace and suffering continued. He destroyed the mighty city states in the deserts that would eventually become the ruins where the Pharaohs slumbered for eternity, gave his blessing to the humans when the monsters were on the verge of killing them all and vice versa when humanity's might was too strong. The first sign of trouble began when the Elves, the original race that received Heaven's blessings learnt the truth and attempted to invade and overthrow Heaven shortly after their greatest hero Lothos Dawnfall had killed Jashin's predecessor Mephiles. Their short lived rebellion was swiftly crushed however, but Lothos Dawnfall had managed to sever the connection between the Demon Realm and Heaven." Ilias paused, before sighing in irritation.
"That incident was where all of the problems started. Most of the monsters became self aware and some even outright refused to kill humans and a few centuries later a certain succubus would gather enough followers and disrupt the cycle." Ilias finished.
"And let me guess, you got desperate right?" Obito asked sarcastically.
Ilias however shot Obito a death glare and completely ignored his statement.
"Moving on, Lilith's little uprising could have been stopped had the other Gods not double crossed me and pledged allegiance to her." Ilias added.
"And ironically the only person still on your side was me." Jashin said whilst smirking.
"Exactly. Me and Jashin made an agreement to eliminate Lilith and had Jashin actually been competent in his job we would not be in this situation right now." Ilias irritatly stated.
Ilias then chuckled before continuing on.
"But not all hope is lost though, for I found one way to hurt Lilith the most and severely hinder her plan."
"And what is that exactly?" Indra asked.
"I had managed to use my power to ensure Lilith and her whores would never be able to conceive sons, ensuring that the humans will have legitimate reason for worshipping me." Ilias arrogantly added.
"And even there not all humans chose to align with you. Did you forget about one particular human who despised his species so much that he even allied himself with me just to ensure humanity would be driven to extinction?" Jashin smugly reminded Ilias.
"Damian...yes I know about him." Ilias muttered out.
"Damian? Who is this Damian Jashin?" Pain now spoke up.
"Nullus. Damian is-." Jashin answered Pain.
"A traitor who I should have killed when I had the chance. Had he not deliberately sought out and revived Jashin all those years ago I would not be fighting a two front war as we speak."
"Hmmm, that does rather explain his misanthropy." Pain commented.
Jashin appeared to be in deep thought for a few moments and remained completely silent. Even Ilias looked at him in confusion before slowly growing irritated over his inaction.
"Are you just going to stand there Jashin?" Ilias asked him in a polite yet irritated tone.
"No actually, because..." Jashin trailed off.
Ilias felt something hard connecting with her skill, which sent her flying a considerable distance. The individual whom attacked the Chief God was a young man with long flowing red hair, red eyes with slits and most prominently three whiskers on each of his cheeks and pointed ears akin to that of an elf.
"You certainly took your time Kurama." Jashin commented.
"Grrr those pesky angels were a nuisance to deal with!" Kurama angrily retorted.
"Glad to see you though Kurama. Where are the other Akatsuki members?" Jashin asked the now human nine tailed fox.
"They should be coming soon." Kurama growled.
Without another moment's hesitation Obito lunged at the Chief God in a flash.
The Chief God smirked as she again caught Obito's fist effortlessly.
"Such fury." Ilias taunted Obito.
"Arrrrgggg!"
Obito screamed as he again attempted to punch Ilias to no avail.
"Water Style! Super Water Shock Bomb Jutsu!"
A barrage of water sharks hit Ilias to temporarily stun her and aside from partly torn and damp clothes Ilias was relatively unaffected by Kisame's signature justu.
Using the window Obito teleported back to his Kamui dimension.
"Who did that?" Ilias growled out.
Ilias looked around frantically. She then saw that a new individual, one with blue skin that wore the same cloak as Nagato now enter the scene.
"Kisame Hoshikage. A surprise to see you-"
"Red Secret Earth Grudge Technique! Performance of a 100 Final Shots!" Both Kakuzu and Sasori yelled in unison.
Descending from the "sky" where one hundred of Sasori's own puppets descended down upon Ilias.
Ilias scoffed at the large amount of puppets and raising her hand in front of her, fired a beam of light that instantly destroyed three quarters of Sasori's puppets.
"Dammit! We're no match for her as is!" Sasori stated.
"We can beat her. We just need to-"
Indra stepped between Kakuzu and Sasori, who moved aside to make space for him.
"Step aside." He ordered.
"Huh? What are you thinking brat?" Kakuzu asked Indra.
"Isn't it obvious? I'm going to kill her." Indra simply said.
"Have you lost your mind brat? You'll get killed if you take her on alone!" Sasori warned Indra.
"I'm not planning to." Indra answered Sasori.
"We will attack her all at once. Because I just realised that she wants us to attack her one by one since it's easier for her to pick us off that way." Indra added.
Even the usually grumpy Sasori and Kakuzu could not hide how impressed they were with Indra's thinking.
"Good thinking brat." Sasori complemented Indra.
Indra breathed in deeply to attain his perfect focus before stepping forward to face Ilias.
"Your mother was a very altruistic individual Indra. She was what one would consider the "ideal" human. Polite, selfless and loving. It was no surprise that when she met your father she instantly fell in love with and married him." Ilias commented in an attempt to gaslight Indra.
Indra remained ever silent and only activated his Sharingan in response.
"And if I must say. Her nature only made her even the more perfect sacrifice to ensure the cycle of suffering continued. For had she lived to see you and Ashura grow up you would have never turned against him and wanted him dead." Ilias added fuel to the fire.
"So you...you're the reason why my mother is dead!? Why I turned against and wanted Ashura dead!? Why I disowned my own family!?" Indra chuckled in barely restrained anger.
A very soft sobbing was heard coming from Indra. Even Jashin, notorious for his cruelty was taken aback by the usually stoic and calm Indra crying.
Jashin's mind: (Yes...allow your hatred to fester more Indra!)
"ANSWER ME! WERE YOU THE ONE WHO SENT ZETSU TO TURN ME AGAINST MY OWN FAMILY!?" Indra roared, as tears streaked his face and black flames danced around his body.
"Precisely. Zetsu was the perfect conduit to ensure that the cycle was not to be disrupted again. And it's all thanks to you Indra for ensuring that the cycle would remain stable for centuries to-"
Ilias raised her eye in surprise as she saw Indra summon forth his full body Susano'o and without warning fired a barrage of Amaterasu fire balls at her.
Indra's mind: (Father...Ashura. I'm sorry. All these years I mistakenly believed you were in the wrong, not realising we were all being played for fools. I swear on both of your graves I will make amends and avenge your deaths.)
Ilias continued to dodged the Amaterasu fire balls being fired at her.
So caught up was she in her battle with Indra, that she failed to notice a black orb blitz right above her and suck her in with it's gravitational pull.
Ilias tried to wriggle free from the rocks that soon encased her, creating a miniature planet.
"Kurama now!" Pain ordered.
"On it!" Kurama said he raised his hands into the air and using his chakra, created an enormous Tailed Beast Ball.
"Hyaaaaa!" Kurama groaned as he fired the tailed beast ball with all his might at the planetoid encasing the Chief God.
The ball hit with precise accuracy and created an explosion that rocked the entire "room" they were in.
For a few seconds after the explosion ceased everyone believed that surely that must've killed the Chief God and that there was no way she could have survived that.
To their dismay and shock Ilias was still alive, albeit unlike their last attacks the combination of the Planetary Devastation and Tailed Beast Bomb left her winded and even her clothes were partly torn by the attack.
"That's it...I've had enough of you insignificant insects thinking they can change their destiny. Now...I will show you all the real power of a God!" Ilias declared.
A bright flash of light accompanied by a violent rumbling noise boomed throughout the room the Akatsuki and their allies were in.
When they opened their eyes again, the Chief God no longer possessed her humanoid form and was now something that could only be described as otherworldly.
"What in the world...?" Kakuzu muttered out in disbelief.
"Are you amazed? This is my true form." The Chief God's echoing voice gloated.
"Just what the hell are you?" Sasori yelled loud enough for Ilias to hear him.
"What am I you ask? A being something your mortal mind cannot comprehend." Ilias answered Sasori.
"It's about time you showed your true self Ilias." Jashin commented.
"If I were you I would drop that arrogance Jashin." Ilias advised Jashin.
"Oh the irony. Have you already so quickly forgotten what happened last time I took your advice?" Jashin asked.
"I shall not be held accountable because you couldn't follow your orders properly. Now to finally put you and your entourage out of your misery."
"Pain, Indra! Do it now!" Jashin shouted.
"Summoning! Gedo Mazo!" Pain's voice boomed.
A grotesque humanoid creature made out of wood erupted from the ground. The created emitted a deafening howl as it rose from the ground.
Indra summoned forth his complete full body black six armed Susano'o. He spoke no words while doing so, only boring his loathing gaze at Ilias.
The other Akatsuki members could only look on from below cheering their leader.
"So this...this is the power of a god? I've never seen anything like it." Kisame said in an exasperated voice.
"Lord Jashin, we are all rooting for you. Defeat that false god once and for all!" Yamikura yelled words of encouragement.
"Thank you Yamikura." Jashin politely replied, grateful for her moving words.
"And now...my turn." Jashin said as he stretched out his hands. Red chakra violently flowed out of his body like steam from a kettle.
Jashin's body grew greatly in size until with a thunderous roar, his body cracked open like an egg.
A large amount of red smoke erupted from Jashin's body. Upon the smoke clearing up stood a legless yet towering red skinned figure posessing six arms. Adorning his torse where elegent free flowing black and purple robes. His face possessed six eyes and teeth far too enormous to keep closed inside his mouth. The only thing Jashin retained from his "human" appearance was his long white hair.
"Hehehe...after nearly a thousand years I've finally regained my full power. " Jashin arrogantly bellowed.
"This power...I've never felt anything like it before, it even eclipses my own..." Pain silently muttered from atop the Gedo Mazo.
"Enough chit chat. Why don't we settle this once and for all Ilias!?" Indra now angrily shouted.
"In that case please give it your all Indra. For when I do beat you I will ensure your death is a slow and painful one." Ilias tauntingly answered him.
Down below the Akatsuki members all continued to watch in awe at what they were seeing. This was undoubtedly something out of a fever dream, it all felt like something out a book or a legend long forgotten in time but alas what they were seeing with their own eyes was all very very real.
And without further due Indra was the first to attack the Chief God in her true form, thus finally beginning the battle for Heaven.
Indra's attacks sent shockwaves throughout the realm. Ilias dodged them and delivered her own equally powerful blows.
For a few moments it seemed as if Ilias and Indra were deadlocked with neither gaining an advantage over the other. That was until Ilias struck Indra with a beam of light emmited from the sky.
"Arrgh! Dammit!" Indra spat out as despite being unharmed, his Susano'o was completely shattered from where the beam of light struck.
"Impressive I know. That is the power of the Hammer of Dawn. Consider yourself lucky that your Susano'o protected you this time Indra, but you will not be so lucky the next time." Ilias warned him.
An hour of intense fighting had passed, and despite the best efforts of Indra, Pain, Jashin and even Kurama who joined in, they could not find a way to defeat the Chief God.
"Grrr. Why won't you just die already!" Indra angrily bellowed out.
"I already told you. A mere mortal such as yourself stands no chance against a god." Ilias calmly answered Indra, her voice echoing.
Indra's mind: (Indra. Indra. Can you hear me?)
Indra's mind: (Jashin? What are you doing in my mind?)
Indra's mind: Jashin (That doesn't matter right now. I've finally devised a plan to defeat Ilias. But it will require perfect timing.)
Indra's mind: (Alright, tell me the plan.)
(Indra's mind: Jashin: (I will launch a direct attack on Ilias. Once she is distracted me and Pain will both use our Rinnegan to form an unbreakable Planetary Devastation. Once that is done Pain will launch a highly powerful attack from the Gedo Mazo, I will launch my own attack and you shall finish her off by using the most powerful jutsu in your arsenal)
(Indra's mind: My most powerful attack...?)
In the real world Indra smirked, knowing just what jutsu he would use.
"Damn you traitor!" Kurama's voice angrily growled, surprising Indra. Looking at the Gedo Mazo he saw Kurama being absorbed by the statue
"The time of use has finally arrived for you Kurama." Pain calmly said as the statue continued to absord Kurama.
"I should have never trusted you human scum! Mark my words you will all-"
Kurama's voice was drowned out by the loud sucking noise of the Gedo Mazo, which shortly afterwards completely absorbed him.
Jashin initiated the plan by summoning forth six scythes to launch a direct attack on Ilias. Ilias, anticipating the attack diligently countered Jashin's attacks with her own.
Pain stretched forth his hand and launched forth the black orb of the Planetary Devastation.
The orb had not even reached halfway towards it's target when a beam of light completely shattered it. Pain growled in anger before quickly noticing above his head a beam of light about to envelop him.
"!"
Pain was surprised to learn when said beam never struck the Deva Path, as it seemingly disappeared into thin air.
"That can only be..." Pain trailed off, already knowing what the answer was.
In a flash of light the beam intended for Pain instead appeared from a wormhole above Ilias and landed a direct hit on her.
Ilias howled in pain as her own attack hit her.
"Grrrr. Damn you Obito! Come out and fight me you coward!" Ilias cried out to no avail.
Indra's mind: (Neat trick there Obito. Perhaps I might have underestimated you.)
"Planetary Devastation!" Both yelled in unison.
Wasting no time Jashin and Pain both created the black ball of the Chibaku Tensei in their hands and both fired it at a distracted Ilias.
The two black orbs did something never seen before to those unfamiliar with the Rinnegan; they fused and expanded greatly in size.
The gravitational pull of the black orb was estimated by Jashin to be ten times more powerful than the regular version of the attack, as despite her greatest attempts to resist it, Ilias soon became trapped within the planetoid.
The Gedo Mazo tilted it's head up into the air and with the power gained from Kurama, created a massive tailed beast ball.
Jashin too prepared his own attack to finish off Ilias once and for all; his one being a blackish red beam he charged in his hand.
Indra on the other hand had already prepared what jutsu he was going to use to assist in finishing off Ilias. It was a bow of lightning large enough for his Susano'o to use. Indra chuckled like a madman as he poured more chakra into his lightning bow, making it larger in size and brighter as well.
"Behold! Indra's arrow!" Indra bellowed out as he fired a lighting bolt from his bow that snaked through the air and hit the planetoid that encased Ilias.
A loud screeching noise emitted from the planetoid before it shattered into hundreds of tiny pieces. Amongst the falling debris was Ilias who had reverted back to her "human" form.
"Water Style: Super Water Shark Bomb Jutsu!" Kisame cried out as dozens of his water sharks simultaneously attacked Ilias before she could hit the ground.
The Akatsuki were not done as next to join in was Kakuzu, who wasted no time in continuing the assault by intercepting Ilias mid air with a series of physical attacks, before throwing her up in the air again and bringing forth all five of his chakra nature masks to unleash a hellish beam upon Ilias.
Sasori immediately followed up on Kakuzu's attack by summoning his third Kazekage puppet.
"Iron Sand: Gathering Assault!" He exclaimed, as he created a large sphere of Iron Sand via the Kazekage puppet and launched it at the falling Ilias.
Next in line was Yamikura who unlike the previous three Akatsuki members merely slashed at Ilias' body with her bone swords.
"Throw her to me." Indra ordered.
"Sure." Yamikura complied as she threw Ilias towards Indra, who had now deactivated his Susano'o
"My turn." Indra muttered out Sharingan activated as he prepared to unleash decades of pent up anger against the now overthrown god.
Indra jumped towards the descending Ilias, and unleash forth a barrage of rage filled punches that made the three previous Akatsuki members attacks look insignificant in comparison.
All the other Akatsuki members looked on awe at the brutal beatdown Indra delivered to Ilias. Kakuzu and Sasori were most intrigued by how powerful Indra's attacks were, as they could even feel them despite being a considerable distance away.
"Hyaaaa!" Indra cried out as with a chakra enhanced punch, sent a heavily bloodied Ilias crashing back down to earth.
A thunderous boom came from Ilias impacting the floor, leaving a giant crater where she had landed.
Pain dispelled the Gedo Mazo, going down himself to insure that Ilias was defeated and Jashin reverted back to his "human" form.
All thee cautiously approached the unconscious form of Ilias, careful in the event she was planning a surprise attack on them. To their avail Ilias was significantly damaged by their combined attack as her robes was torn and bloodied and her face was barely recognisable from Indra's punches.
Obito reappeared, shoving his way past the three men to grab Ilias by her collar and began pummeling her in the face without restraint or mercy.
"Obito, calm down." Pain advised the scarred Uchiha.
"Calm down? Calm down!? This bitch was responsible for everything bad that happened in our lives!" Obito angrily objected as despite Pain's efforts to restrain him, Obito broke free from his control and continued to punch Ilias.
"That's enough Obito." Jashin now spoke up as this time with success he managed to restrain Obito.
"(Cough) (Cough) If Lilith and her bastard husband...h-hadn't weakened me all those years ago...I-I would have been able to kill you all." Ilias commented as she barely rose her upper body from the ground.
"But you didn't Ilias. This time I had made friends with whom I shared a common goal; that being your downfall. And now that you're fast approaching death you still stubbornly cannot accept you've been defeated." Jashin stated.
"Y-you won't get away with this J-jashin. The humans and my a-angels will still continue to oppose you no matter what!" Ilias croaked out.
"It never should have been like t-this. It's a-all thanks to t-that traitor Damian bringing you back from the grave a-and hindering m-my p-plans. M-minato's son was the one whom I intended to be the saviour of the world, b-but he wasn't ready to take the mantle yet. H-he was still too young. So I was forced to bless the next best option available to me." Ilias added, smiling weakly.
"And who would that be bitch?" Obito snapped back.
"Why...your dear younger cousin..." Ilias smugly answered.
Obito's eyes widened in disbelief.
"S-Shisui?" Obito muttered out.
"P-precisely. He was t-the only one who had the n-needed s-strength and heart of a h-hero. And e-even though you will take my life and irreversibly break the cycle. H-he will a-at least s-stop you all." Ilias croaked one final time before collapsing from blood loss.
Jashin merely looked on at Ilias with a satisfied grin. His arm glowed a bright white as he absorbed the life force of the Chief God via the Preta Path. She howled in pain as he continued to do so for the next two minutes. Once he was done Ilias, now in a state of rapid decay had what was left of her soul sucked out from her by the King of Hell.
Jashin's eyes glowed by a bright yellow for a few seconds, before reverting back to their original red colour.
"Hmpf. Where do go forward from here Jashin? Now that Ilias is out of the way." Pain asked the former Demon Lord.
"Hahaha! Now that Ilias is gone the only obstacle left in my path is Lilith and then...I will have finally reclaimed my rightful throne." Jashin confidently stated.
"But to answer your question. I advise we move our headquarters back to the Hidden Rain Village for now, as my world is still heavily in Lilith's favour and it's only a matter of time before her whores figure out where we've been operating out of. It will only be a matter of time before one of Ilias' angels sends the message that she's been killed and whatever remnants that are left of the Order will attempt to feebly resist us." Jashin stated.
Obito on the other hand merely looked on at Ilias' lifeless corpse with indifference.
"Jashin. I have a request." Obito spoke up.
"What is it?" Jashin enquired.
"I want to be the one to confront Shisui and show him just how worthless this world and it's people are. I want to be the one to break his will down notch by notch until his idiotic principles and beliefs are shattered beyond repair." Obito requested
"Very well then Obito. I can comply with that request." Jashin answered.
"Pain. I have a mission for you." Jashin spoke to Pain.
"What is it?"
"Lilith's forces seek to invade Lescatie this afternoon and I feel this will be a perfect opportunity for you to meet them first hand. So tell me, how would you like to be the one to inform the citizens of Lescatie that their God is dead?"
(With Damian...)
Damian groaned in frustration as he sat in his cell awaiting execution. Not only had the guards taken away his mask and Akatsuki cloak, that annoying pest Wilmarina had also asked the guards to take away his Akatsuki ring and to top it off, had asked Mimil to magically enchant his cell so that he could not escape via teleportation.
Sighing in defeat Damian attempted to wriggle free of the handcuffs currently on his wrists. He did chuckle to himself though, as grim as his current situation was. What made him chuckle? Sasha's blessed sword had the effect of freeing him of Jashin's influence, meaning that the immortality he was previously bestowed upon by Jashin when he first encountered the former Demon Lord ten years prior was no longer in effect, making Damian mortal once again.
"My life feels like it was nothing but a failure, just a boulevard of broken dreams shattered by the unforgiving nature of those whom I thought meant good." Damian silently muttered to himself.
Soft footsteps echoed throughout the dungeons, getting louder by the second. Looking up Damian saw none other than Sasha Fullmoon standing on the other side of his cell.
"Good morning Damian. I-"
"Leave me alone." Damian snapped back.
Sasha gasped before sighing softly to herself. She knew this was not going to be easy but, she reassured herself that Damian, despite his actions still had a right to know.
"Ahem. Again I am sorry to intrude Damian, but I felt you deserved to know that I had managed to negotiate with what's left of the council and Francisca's regent to delay your execution until this afternoon." Sasha informed Damian.
"Why? So you can gather all of your friends to watch me die and laugh as you scheme to murder more mamono?" Damian snapped back.
Sasha looked in Damian in sorrow as he uttered out his remark. If only he knew the truth she thought to herself. Sasha so badly wanted to inform Damian that Druella's forces would be liberating Lescatie this afternoon, hence why she delayed his execution until then.
But she reminded herself that if she told Damian that information that he would most likely inform the guards once they had come to bring him to the gallows, potentially leading to her being sent to the gallows along with Damian and her orphanage being taken away from her.
"No Damian. I know my words do not reach you since I am human and you do not hold a very favourable view of humans. But, if I were a mamono and I told you that not all humans were evil and that your hatred has consumed you, what would you say then?" Sasha curiously asked Damian.
"Nothing. Because I wouldn't allow you to become a mamono believing you would be granted a blanket amnesty for your crimes." Damian answered Sasha.
"I should have known that you would have said something like that. I have to go now Damian, but before you are taken away by the guards and before I go I just want you to know that despite all you have done I do not hate you but instead pity you for allowing hate to consume your soul." Sasha stated in her usual polite and formal tone.
"I don't need your pity Sasha." Damian spat out.
"True, I cannot force you to feel my pity and you have every right not to. I simply only want you to find inner peace and realise that hatred only harms you and robs you of all the joys in life you deny yourself." Sasha advised Damian.
Damian merely scoffed in response at Sasha's advice. Sighing softly Sasha prepared to leave, but not before speaking to Damian one final time.
"Farewell Damian. I hope that you eventually find peace within your soul." Sasha said to Damian as she walked away, her footsteps echoing before growing softer and softer until all that remained was silence in the dungeons.
(At Sasha's orphanage...)
Sasha looked up and met the priest's gaze head-on as she spoke.
"If the conditions are the same as always, then so is my answer."
"You refuse, then?"
"I'm afraid so."
The priest leaned forward.
"Your achievements and prestige are practically unequaled. We have lost Vermut, Primera and Luciana all within the span of a week. Our strength has been greatly diminished since and the assassination of most of the Royal Family yesterday left a deep void in our leadership. You are one of our last remaining heroes whose power is only rivalled by Lady Wilmarina, Lady Mimil and Sir Shisui. Having you relocate from here to the upper district will not only allow you to be closer to the Heroes Headquarters, but it would be a luxury befitting of a heroine such as yourself. Surely such a personage ought to receive suitably compensation, don't you agree?"
The woman, Sasha Fullmoon answered clearly. Her gaze never wavered.
"I am a hero, and a hero is one who gives people courage, protects them, and supports them in their need. If I were to live in the palace, I could not help becoming distant from the people, and then I would be unable to give them hope. I want to stay here as the people's support."
The priest appeared stunned by Sasha's answer, delivered without hesitation.
"Humph. Fine, then. If you change your mind, come let me know any time."
"Thank you very much Father Theodore."
Sasha maintained her perfect manners, even faced with the priest's merely superficial courtesy.
An ornate carriage with the crest of Lescatié engraved on its roof, a rare sight in the slums, stood parked before the district's only church. Armed palace guards secured the area around it.
At length the door of the church opened, and an old man came out. His body, wrapped in a white robe, could be called robust or fat, depending on how the speaker was disposed to him. The guards formed a perimeter around him as he walked laboriously towards the carriage.
Sasha stood by the door and saw off the priest until he got into his carriage and departed. When it had completely vanished from her view, Sasha let out a sigh so small that no one but herself could notice it. It was probably because he feared assassination that he took such precautions. Even if that were not the case, he the slums were teeming with discontent and grumbling against the upper classes. Some might say that it was only natural for him to be wary.
It was a sad state of affairs when even a priest, who the masses ought by all rights to have greeted with open arms, had become a target of their animosity. It showed how twisted the country had become.
Sasha heard a soft rustle of leaves near her. Looking to her left she noticed standing right beside her was none other than Shisui Uchiha.
"Hey Sasha." Shisui half heartedly greeted Sasha.
"Good morning Shisui. Are you ok? You left rather-"
"I know. And I just...I came here to apologise for just leaving you last night without an answer." Shisui interrupted Sasha.
Deep in Sasha's mind she knew that something was completely off about Shisui. Perhaps it was because of the Royal Family's assassination yesterday? That seemed the most likely answer, it had to be.
But her sixth sense if you could call it was telling her that something else was bothering Shisui. Something more personal.
"!"
Shisui was taken aback by the firm yet gentle hug Sasha gave him.
"Shisui. It's not like you to look so solemn. Please tell me what is bothering you for I only want to help you." Sasha told Shisui in a warm almost mother like tone.
"M-may we head inside? This is something I only want to discuss with you in private." Shisui requested.
"Of course Shisui! We shall head to my office. Come come." Sasha with a joyous expression answered Shisui.
Heading inside the orphanage and to Sasha's bedroom/office the door was closed once again. And once it was Shisui breathed in deeply to gather his thoughts.
"I...I just feel guilt." Shisui admitted.
"Guilt? Why do you feel guilt Shisui?" Sasha asked Shisui.
"That I never came here sooner, never helped you all as much as I knew I could. It pains me everyday knowing how much you and the others have suffered and I had never done anything about it." Shisui softly answered Sasha.
"That is a matter out of your control Shisui. You were in another world at the time and I am certain had you known of us earlier, you would have still come to our aid." Sasha assured Shisui.
Shisui tried to answer Sasha, try and reason with her that she placed too much faith in him to do the right thing and not mess it up. But the more Sasha hugged Shisui, the more he was reminded of his late sister.
"Shisui..." Sasha cooed out.
"I- I... I understand how hard it must be, my friend... But there is no longer a need to linger on thoughts of what could have been... I believe that your emotional turmoil is truly like a storm... It is painful and destructive thinking about your failures, thinking about what you could have done to prevent an undesirable outcome. But believe me when I say this...as soon as that storm ends, there is a sense of peace... You must remember that the storm will pass... it always does... That sense of peace can fill you now Shisui. Please, try and remember that no matter what and I promise you will always find the strength you need. You are such a good and pure human being Shisui, and kindness like yours is worthy of praise." Sasha reassured Shisui.
A chord struck Shisui's heart upon hearing Sasha's soothing and reassuring words. Rarely one to show powerful emotions in front of others Shisui felt his own resistance weaken. Closing his eyes he felt a warmness in them flow down his cheeks.
"And about my own personal troubles from before I had met you please, do not worry about it Shisui... The past is in the past... We have the future in front of us and I promise that I will never let you sink into the darkness. You are my friend... and that will be the case forever..." Sasha declared as she smiled warmly at Shisui.
"You and I will be there for one another, to help and listen... and smile and laugh... That is the power of a true friendship... One that we shall share... forever." Sasha finished her moving statement.
Looking into the young Uchiha's eyes, Sasha saw that behind the strong and resilient protector was a man, nay a boy needed a shoulder of support to lean on.
"I've been meaning to ask you, Lady Ilassa offered you her hand in marriage, why did you reject her proposal Shisui?"
Shisui's eyes widened in surprise at the question.
"I told her that I...that I loved another woman and that marrying her would be a betrayal to the woman I loved." Shisui honestly admitted.
"Oh? And if you don't mind me asking, who is this special woman who captured your heart?" Sasha asked.
Shisui's breaths became quick with panic. It was as if the answer was stuck in his throat and he had to force himself to say it.
"That woman...that woman is you Sasha." Shisui.
Sasha gasped in shock at Shisui's answer.
"M-me? Well I am flattered you would desire my hand in marriage Shisui but I-"
"Love another man, I know." Shisui finished Sasha's sentence for her, avoiding eye contact as he did so.
"I am so sorry Shisui. But Elt is the one I've always had feelings for and wanted to marry and while I do care for you deeply, I cannot love you romantically." Sasha stated in an attempt to raise the young Uchiha's spirits.
"But please do not be sad, for I know without a doubt that there are many mamono would love to marry you like that purple eyed elf girl and Queen Maylin." Sasha added.
To her utmost sorrow Shisui still looked forlorn at her prior words and behind his eyes could see he was hurting.
A soft knocking came from Sasha's office door and the sound of two excited girls giggling emitted from the other side.
"Miss Sasha! Big bro is here and he wants to see you!" The voice of Lisia if Shisui recalled correctly happily announced from the other side.
Sasha smiled warmly as she uttered out a soft "coming" and opened the door. Standing on the other side were two girls with brown hair, one taller than the other and in the middle was a red haired teen.
"Good afternoon Shisui." Elt greeted Shisui, who completely ignored him.
Finding his behaviour odd, Elt shot him a concerned look before Sasha's embraced snapped him out of it.
"Elt. It's so good to see you." Sasha warmly greeted Elt with said teen and the two girls accompanying him hugging her.
Shisui looked on at the scene before his eyes indifferently for a few moments before without a word exited Sasha's office.
"Shisui! Shisui! Where are you going?" Elt's voice called out in vain as said Uchiha merely ignored him before jumping on the rooftops of the buildings, making his way back hone.
"What's wrong with him?" Elt curiously asked aloud.
"It's...nothing Elt." Sasha answered him as she too arrived by the entrance and looked on at Shisui darting across the rooftops.
"Are you sure? He looked at me earlier as if he wanted to punch me. Did I do something that might have offended him?" Elt asked again.
"We were simply discussing private matters." Sasha vaguely answered
(Back with Damian...)
"Get up." One of the guards ordered of Damian to do.
Damian scoffed at their request and merely continued to sit on the cold hard concrete in a futile attempt at defiance.
The guards entered Damian's cell without a single word and hoisted him up, dragging him out.
The late afternoon sun blinded Damian's eyes once he was dragged outside of the dungeons. Many civilians of Lescatie were gathered in a large crowd all jeering at Damian as he walked passed them and towards the fated rope that had ended the lives of mamono sympathisers, criminals and traitors, which Damian was all three of in the eyes of the people of Lescatie.
"Traitor! I hope you rot in hell with the rest of those monsters!" One bystander shouted toward Damian, who paid him no mind. A few moments later a middle aged woman ran up to and punched Damian square in the jaw, with said woman being hushed away by the two guards immediately afterwards.
A little while walking later and Damian could see the infamous gallows of Lescatie, with a noose specially reserved for him today.
"What's so funny traitor?" One of the guards hissed at Damian.
"I am just reflecting that even if I may die today, I at least took some of your brethren with me." Damian cheekily answered.
"You dare speak about the good men and women you murdered in cold blood traitor! They are in the heavens living amongst the Angels of the Chief God while you will rot in the deepest darkest pits of hell for all eternity!" The guard spat out, as the crowd cheered him on.
Walking up the stairs Damian looked down below to see that some civilians were chanting for his blood to be spilled. Such ignorant fools Damian though, he had no regret for his actions that led him to this situation, and he certainly had no fear for what was about to happen to him. Looking at the crowd he noticed that Wilmarina and Sasha were absent. What he did notice however, was Merse staring at him with a deep hatred behind her eyes.
One of the highest ranking priests of Lescatie, and also one of the few Damian had not killed was Father Theodore Fosagio. The man who was Casper Noscrim's right hand man and also the man who on that fateful day knocked on the door of Sophia Fullmoon's orphanage to announce Damian's acceptance into the Order's forces.
Lamenting on his past, Damian did remember how Sophia was the closest thing he had to a mother growing up. She was always there for him whenever he needed emotional support, always asked how he was doing and providing advice and food when he needed it and most importantly, showed him love and compassion at a time in his life when he was severely starved of it.
Now that he thought about it, once he was forced to move out of the orphanage and into the upper class district that was where he had started to change, started to become more apathetic and numb to the troubles of his life and the outside world.
In a way, Damian admitted to himself that he secretly missed Sophia.
"Damian Mars." Theodore's voice boomed, snapping Damian out of his trance.
"You stand before the gallows today on the charges of treason and for the murder of countless innocents and the Royal Family! For your crimes, you are hereby sentenced to death! Do you have any last words, traitor!?" Theodore's voice boomed.
"Yes." Damian muttered out.
"Well then, out with it!" Theodore snarled.
"I have no regrets for my actions. All of you demanding my head to be served on a platter are no better than the monsters of old. And you Theodore, all of you priests are lying hypocrites who abuse their position to acquire wealth while the people you preach to starve, not that I care about them as they bring their misfortune upon themselves when they want the mamono who only strived to make their lives better to be killed in cold blood. You humans only know how to conduct war and bring suffering wherever you go. If I must die because I do not support a species that thrives in greed, deceit and warfare then so be it. I will gladly sacrifice myself for the cause of the mamono. I may die today, but Lilith and her mamono will all prevail and win this pointless war." Damian passionately stated.
The crowd merely booed at his mini speech, with some even throwing objects onto the gallows where he stood. The executioner placed the noose around Damian's neck.
Damian mentally prepared himself for the inevitable drop. The pain would be quick he reassured himself. As the executioner walked towards the lever to pull it Damian's thoughts went back to the mamono he valiantly fought to protect. Looking up at the evening sky he could see the stars beginning to twinkle, as if some higher being watched below him.
Then he saw it, a black outline of a humanoid with wings flying at his direction. The spectators all watched in awe as they saw this black shadow creature be joined by dozens, if not hundreds more of these shadows.
"Monsters!" A woman in the crowd screamed out as she pointed towards the sky.
A swooshing sound was heard as a Manticore descended from the sky like a comet. The crowd dispersed in panic as said Manticore was joined by various succubi, Griffins and even a-
"Night Gaunt!" The executioner cried out as he was lifted into the air by said mamono.
The other guards valiantly attempted to fight the succubi but-
"You're gonna have to try harder than that." A succubus playfully answered as she dodged a strike aimed at her with ease
"You swing too slow." Another succubus taunted as she dodged the guard's sword strikes with minimal effort.
Theodore Fosagio in all the confusion and chaos ran away from the gallows. Damian on the other hand, was almost free of the ropes that had bound him.
"Come on...just a little more..." Damian muttered under his breath as he finally managed to break the ropes by channeling mana into his hands and heating it up, essentially burning it and in the process partly burning his hands. Next was the noose which he removed without much effort. Once that was done there was only one task left.
Kill him.
Grabbing the axe that the executioner dropped Damian picked it up and looked around. Much to his chagrin he could not spot out Theodore in all the chaos of the mamono and knights fighting and eventually fucking one another. Cursing himself that he could not find the priest he spotted him running.
Or rather trying to, as he had to carefully navigate between the various humans and mamono that greatly slowed him down.
Damian smiled like a madman as he charged at the confused and terrified priest at an inhumanly fast speed.
Theodore's eyes widened as he spotted Damian rapidly closing the distance between them. Panicking and out of breath, the cowardly priest ran into the nearest hovel he could find, foolishly believing the wooden structure would protect him from Damian.
For the first five seconds Theodore sighed in relief, believing himself safe from Damian's wrath.
Thud!
The fragile door was thrown out of it's hinges. Hiding under a nearby table in the hopes of avoiding Damian Theodore looked on anxiously as he watched Damian walk around the room.
For a moment the priest believed the coast was clear once he saw Damian's feet walk towards the exit; he had evaded that madman he thought to himself.
All hope drained from his body when Damian abruptly turned around, ran at and kicked over the table he hid under.
"Please Damian! I will give you everything you want! Just give me a chance!" Theodore pleaded as he held his hands up in the air.
"And what about the mamono you so mercilessly killed! Remember the Harpy you sentenced to the Bronze Bull despite her pleas for mercy!? Did you give her and the other mamono a chance!? Did you!?" Damian barked out as he readied his axe.
"W-wait! I-I'm sorry for what I did to those monst- I mean mamono! Spare me now and I promise I will-"
A loud screech, akin to a cry of pain echoed loudly for all in Lescatie to hear. Father Theodore's fearful eyes widened even more at the sound he heard whilst Damian smiled.
"Do you hear that? Your God is finally dead and gone, and you have no where to run, no where to hide and no one is coming to save you Theodore." Damian muttered as he slowly approached Theodore again.
The overweight priest scurried back on the floor until his back his something hard; a wall.
Damian's axe rose into the air slowly, before coming back down to earth like a guillotine.
"Aaaaaaa!"
Theodore's right leg was chopped clean off his body, causing the priest to cough up massive amounts of blood and the stump of where his leg used to be to pour out blood.
"S-stop, p-please!" The priest pleaded; his white clothes quickly becoming dyed red by his blood.
"No."
Another strike from Damian's axe and this time Theodore's other leg was cut off from his body, leaving him a paraplegic.
Damian scoffed at the dying priest's pathetic moans as he readied his axe one final time.
The axe landed a direct hit on Theodore's forehead. His eyes widened at the influx of pain before slowly closing for one final time.
Heaving slightly Damian looked on in content at his latest kill. It was a rather bloody one and some of the priest's blood splattered onto his own tattered clothes.
The door behind Damian creaked open. Looking behind him he saw it was three familiar figures, albeit different so to speak.
"Wilmarina." Damian said in a flat tone.
Wilmarina Noscrim, former hero of Lescatie now a succubus bore a gaze filled with pity and sorrow. Standing to Wilmarina's left was Paula Tronmain, member of the famous three musketeers of Lescatie and now a Holstaur. And standing to her right was Olivie Amaltia, leader of the three musketeers and now a Demon.
"Why Damian...why did you do this?" Wilmarina asked Damian.
"Why? (chuckle) because he deserved it...the bastard deserved to die." Damian answered.
"Just like you and your cronies beside you." Damian added, surprising Wilmarina, Olivie and Paula.
"So now what are your intentions Damian? Do you still hate us because we used to be human?" Wilmarina asked Damian.
"Yes. I don't care if you are a mamono or not, the crimes you three committed against them do not fall away simply because you are one of them."
"That is a shame Damian." Wilmarina said wistfully.
"We do not desire to harm you or anyone else here. We swore to Druella that no blood shall be shed today." Olivie declared.
"Like you I too had my suspicions that the Chief God was lying to us about the mamono's true nature. Do you remember Alameria?" Paula now spoke up, asking Damian a question.
"Yes I do. The Dhampir your people wanted dead despite her unwavering loyalty to Lescatie and the Order. What of her?" Damian replied in a harsh tone.
"Me and Olivie actually campaigned to have her freed. She was our friend, and we could not not let her die." Paula spoke up.
Snarling at her statement Damian gestured his axe toward them and it appeared as if he were about to answer them.
"Not so fast." Shisui's voice calmly said as said Uchiha tightly grasped the hand of Damian.
"What the?"
"Enough Damian. You will spill no more blood today. This unnecessary revenge of yours will end today." Shisui announced with authority in his voice
"Unnecessary...revenge?" Damian repeated Shisui's words before chuckling.
"Nothing about what I've done is unnecessary. Humanity's extinction is long overdue and by whatever god you believe in, you're not stopping me from making that a reality." Damian said with anger seething in his voice.
"In that case I'll just have to stop you by force." Shisui firmly said as he tightened the grip on Damian's hand.
Damian looked on in surprise, before chuckling.
"Lumos!" He shouted as a bright light engulfed the immediate area, blinding Shisui and the three heroes now turned mamono.
Ten seconds later the blinding light had mostly faded and for the most part the four heroes could see again.
"Where did he go?" Paula was the first to ask.
"I do not know. But he can't be far." Wilmarina answered.
"Don't worry guys, I'll find him." Shisui assured the trio.
Teleprting away, Shisui scoured all of Lescatie in an attempt to find Damian. Shisui utilised shadow clones to further speed up his search for Damian.
"Boss! I found his spirit energy signature in the Royal Palace!" One of Shisui's clones cried out.
"On it." Shisui said to his clone shortly before rushing toward the palace.
Arriving inside the Royal Palace Shisui ran towards the sounds of screaming he heard.
"My face! Where is my face!?" Shisui heard Damian's voice echo throughout the halls.
"I-I don't k-know." A woman's voice meekly muttered in response and between sobs.
Shisui's mind: (Oh no! I gotta save that woman before he kills her!)
Shisui rushed toward the source of Damian and the woman's voice as fast as he could.
Clang
Shisui attempted to strike Damian with his sword, which he had intercepted with a giant red and white fan he possessed.
"This isn't a place to fight. Lets take this outside shall we?" Damian sarcastically asked Shisui as he teleported both himself and the young Uchiha to a nearby field.
Shisui looked around the darkened field. Aside from the fading twilight of the sun it was completely dark all around.
"Why do you still continue to kill despite the monsters condemning such acts! Don't you realise it! Your obsessive hatred for the Order and all of humanity has made you no better than those you hate." Shisui attempted to reason with Damian.
Damian laughed at Shisui's response. Unlike the sarcastic laughter from earlier his laughter sound manical, akin to that of an insane asylum patient.
"The cruelty I have seen first hand committed by humans...the deceit, the barbaric killing of one another over trivial reasons and the pleasure they get in bringing suffering to those who only desired to help them, to love them unconditionally and until the end of time. Countless mamono had to pay with their lives for committing the "crime" of wanting a world without suffering. How could I not loathe my own species when they commit these acts on a regular basis?" Damian asked Shisui.
"Because most humans are not the sadistic warmongers you view them as! Many of them are like you and me, who only strive to do what's good and look out for those we care about! But you have allowed your own hate to fester and consume you!" Shisui objected.
"You think so Shisui? You really think that in the feces known as humanity there are these so called "good" people?" Damian sarcastically asked Shisui.
"Yes. But you have never seen that due to your own hatred clouding your judgment." Shisui retorted.
"You claim to look up to the mamono and view them as a beacon of peace. But have you ever asked yourself how they would view you? To them you are nothing but a cold hearted murderer." Shisui said.
"No Shisui. My actions are merely a public service to all those who suffered under humanity and the Chief God. But enough of that, I want to ask you a question. Do you know what this fan is by any chance?" Damian slyly asked Shisui.
Shisui analysed the fan Damian possessed and despite trying to recall where he might have remembered said fan from, he could not.
"No." Was all Shisui said as he unsheathed his sword.
"This fan is no ordinary fan. It is the bishonen. One of the treasured tools of the Sage of Six Paths himself." Damian revealed to Shisui.
"No way! I thought they were only a myth!" Shisui stated in disbelief.
"Oh they are very much real Shisui. But unfortunately..." Damian's voice trailed off as he looked to the sky, where he saw Druella, dozens of succubi, Demons and even that one highly powerful black Baphomet all rushing towards their location at full speed.
"Company has arrived. And my quarrel is not with them." Damian said as grasping Shisui's forearm again, he teleported them to another location.
The new location where Damian had taken them was an underwater base of sorts. The lighting in the base was a deep navy blue that smoothly blended in with the ocean surrounding it. The technology of the base appeared to be centuries more advanced than what the world currently possessed, and at the back of the room Shisui noticed 10 automatons, all currently deactivated.
"What is this place? Where did you take me?" Shisui demanded answers from Damian.
"The aquatic research base of the abandoned Elven city of Asfaleia. It was here where over a millennia ago that the Elves conducted their experiments to determine if alternate realities existed. The Elves tried for decades to create the necessary "link" to find another world although the first few endeavors ended in complete disaster." Damian explained.
"What happened?" Shisui asked, listening with keen attention.
"The first time the Elves tried to create a portal it led to a rocky desert where two men firing blue and purple energy beams at one another almost destroyed their lab from the sheer power of their attacks. The man firing the purple energy beam noticed the Elven scientists and flew at them with killing intent. The Elves quickly shut down and destroyed the portal." Damian further explained.
"Hmpf. And so what happened after that?" Shisui further asked.
"A few months later they tried again and that time the portal was a success. Why? Because it led to your world." Damian answered.
"My world? So the people in your world knew of mine all this time?" An amazed Shisui asked.
"Not exactly, for only the Elven scientists and the rulling monarch of Asfaleia knew of your world's existence at the time, and the knowledge of your world was lost when the Chief God and her angels destroyed Asfaleia." Damian again answered.
"However they did manage to briefly explore what is now the Land of Water and established a portal there connecting the two worlds. It was abandoned after the Elves were nearly exterminated by the Chief God but a few centuries later a certain Sage of the Six Paths somehow stumbled upon the deactivated portal during his travels in the Land of Water and from there he was the first human from your world to enter mine." Damian revealed.
"And how do you know all this?" Shisui now sternly enquired.
"I can't tell you that now can I? Let's just say I did a lot of research on your world during my time there." Damian answered Shisui.
Shisui disappeared from Damian's eyesight before reappearing from his rear.
"Lumos!" He yelled, blinding the young Uchiha and giving him time to develop a strategy to combat him.
"Don't think I am ignorant of your abilities Shisui. Danzo told me all about your Kotoamatsukami." Damian said to Shisui.
Shisui gasped in surprise at the mention of Danzo's name.
"How do you know about Danzo?" Shisui demanded answers from Damian.
Damian chuckled at Shisui's question.
"I would tell you but...I don't feel like telling you." He playfully answered Shisui.
Shisui charged at Damian again and this time managed to land a successful strike on him with his Demonic Energy Sword.
Damian inspected the cut on his abdomen and was surprised that aside from the cloth torn by the blade he was not bleeding at all.
"Demon Realm Silver..." He muttered out.
Without another moment's waste Damian waved the Bishonen in front of him and summoned forth a water dragon to attack Shisui.
Shisui dodged said jutsu with relative ease, but soon found himself face to face with a another dragon, this time a lightning one.
He again dodged this jutsu, but with much more difficulty than the water dragon jutsu.
"Uchiha Style: Halo Dance!" Shisui yelled as with three slashes of his sword three fire projectiles rushed toward's Damian's position.
Damian was caught off guard by Shisui's fire jutsu and took all three fire projectiles head on. The third one launched him a good 10 feet away onto the ground.
Ten seconds later he got up but most of his clothes were singed and most of his right arm, the right half of his face and torso had third degree burns.
"Damn you...Shisui." Damian growled out as he clutched onto the Bishonen with his good right arm.
"Just give up." Shisui said.
Damian chuckled in response to Shisui's request.
"Me give up?" He muttered out.
"Like hell that's ever gonna happen! Lumos!" He cried out as once again, the entire room was illuminated by the bright light.
Shisui once again squinted his eyes to shield them from the blinding light.
Shisui's mind: (Dammit! I have to find a way around this genjutsu or I'm toast.)
"Whoa!"
Shisui barely dodged a sword aimed for him and quickly turned around to disarm Damian.
Damian's eyes met Shisui and before he knew it he was surrounded by a reddish black void where the only objects in view were himself and Shisui, who stood on top of a 20 foot hill where the "moon" that was the eye of his Mangekyo Sharingan brightly illuminated behind him.
"So this is your Kotoamatsukami huh?" Damian begrudgingly asked Shisui.
"Yes it is. In this realm I control everything you see." Shisui answered Damian.
Damian scoffed in annoyance for he knew what fate would await him.
"I take no joy in this. But if this is the only way I can end your murder spree then I have no choice but to use it." Shisui announced to Damian.
Several beams of light erupted from the sky to form a circle around Damian. All of the beams quickly approached Damian and in only five seconds, completely engulfed him.
Back in the real world Damian was laying on the cold metallic floor unconscious. Shisui smiled weakly at his victory. While he had finally put an end to Damian's schemes once for all he still felt an immense sorrow for all the lives he failed to save from him.
Without warning a searing pain erupted from Shisui's right eye, the same one where he cast his Kotoamatsukami from.
Shisui shrieked from the immense pain, and he felt a warm dampness from the hand he covered his right eye.
Blood
Shisui's eye was partly covered in his own blood as the pain became more unbearable and more intense to the point that the young Uchiha collapsed onto the floor alongside Damian.
(?...)
Not too far away from the aquatic research base were a Gremlin and a Werewolf taking refuge inside of one of Asfaleia's many abandoned buildings currently huddled around a fire.
"Are you certain that contraption of yours will work this time Martha?" The pink haired werewolf curiously asked the Gremlin.
"I know it will this time Mavi! I've taken all the precautions and fixed up all potential faults in it! Once this baby works I know it'll lead us to our future husbands!" The Gremlin named Martha passionately exclaimed.
The werewolf named Mavi chuckled at her friend's enthusiasm.
"I respect your perseverance despite your contraption exploding a least a dozen times in the last week Martha." Mavi complemented her friend.
"Thank you Mavi. I promise you that this time I'll get it working! Without it blowing up in our faces of course." Martha enthusiastically answered Mavi.
The device in Martha's hand soon began to emit a loud beeping noise, earning a joyous reaction from the Gremlin.
"Mavi! My readings are going off the charts!" The Gremlin frantically announced.
"Really? That's lovely! What does it say?" Mavi asked Martha.
"It's telling me that it picks up two strong readings of Spirit Energy not too far from here." Martha said.
Using her Spirit Energy tracker as a GPS Martha noticed that it pointed her to the direction of the lake, utterly confusing her.
"Odd. It's saying that the two sources of Spirit Energy originate from the...lake?" Martha muttered out in confusion.
"The lake? How is that possible? You don't think they could have already been claimed by any aquatic mamono?" Mavi asked.
"No. Aside from us there isn't a single soul living in these ruins or the lake." Martha stated, not taking her eyes off her tracker once.
"Don't tell me..." Mavi trailed off, analysing what two human men in a lake could only mean.
Mavi and Martha both knew what that could mean without telling the other, and quickly rushed to their location
"Come on out you rapists!" A woman's voice called out to no avail.
Quickly taking refuge behind a fallen pillar, the two mamono peeked from their hiding places to see a group of Order knights and a woman who judging from the armour she wore, was very likely their captain.
"Search the entire area! I know there's one of those abominations here!" A female voice shouted out, startling both Martha and Mavi.
Mavi also noticed that standing next to the human woman was a green haired elf girl with her bow currently drawn. She looked familiar Mavi thought, before putting one and two together.
That green haired elf girl was famed hero of Lescatie Primera Concerto. But what was she doing here Mavi thought to herself. Wasn't she supposed to be in Lescatie?
"Arrggh! Where are the monsters half breed!? You said they were here!" The woman snarled.
"I-I sensed them here just a few minutes ago Lady Arlette! I sensed their energy up there in that abandoned building." Primera explained herself, pointing towards where just minutes ago Martha and Mavi were huddled around a fire.
"Well they aren't there now are they?" Arlette asked Primera in a sarcastic tone.
Gritting her teeth in annoyance, Primera mumbled out a weak "No."
"It doesn't matter right now. The sun is almost below the horizon and we need to leave now." Arlette stated.
"Aaaah!" Primera collapsed onto her knees and gasped as she held her shoulder.
"Hmm. Is it that mark again?" Arlette nonchalantly asked Primera.
"Y-yes." Primera muttered out.
Arlette sighed in annoyance before yanking Primera back onto her feet.
"Hmmm, that mark on your shoulder, it's glowing, definitely not a good sign. We'll take you back to Akreo and get you a priest who can get rid of it. That is, if Lord Sibrand is willing to help you. If not we'll just send you to the Leper colony." Arlette stated.
Failing to find what they were looking for, the group of Order soldiers departed the ruins of Asfaleia towards their home of Akreo.
Once the soldiers left both Mavi and Martha sighed in relief at narrowly dodging a bullet.
"How did you manage to mask our Demonic Energy?" Mavi was the first to speak as they contuined on towards the lake.
"I made a Mana silencer. It works the opposite of a Mana Marker in that it masks your Demonic Energy to allow one to hide from sensors like that Elf girl." Martha explained.
"Fascinating. Your inventions surely do help get us out of a lot of pickles Martha, why not sell them?" Mavi asked.
Martha's face become solemn at Mavi's question.
"I-I'm not as good as the other Gremlins. Did you forget how many of my inventions blew up in my face? Nobody would want to buy something's that's faulty now would they?" Martha despairingly answered Mavi.
"Don't put yourself down like that Martha. Just look at your most recent contraption that you made, it helped us find two humans who could potentially be our husbands." Mavi reassured her friend.
"Heh, I guess you're right. Thank you Mavi." Martha happily answered.
Two minutes later the two women arrived at a large metallic door that appeared as though it was floating on top of the lake.
To their immediate right Mavi and Martha noticed a Banshee appear out of thin air.
"What are you doing here?" Martha curiously asked the Banshee.
"The Goddess of the Underworld Hel sent me here. There is a human man inside on the brink of death and it is my duty to guide him to the afterlife should he not survive." The Banshee spoke with a soft Irish accent.
"Pffft. I know why you're really here, You're just trying to steal my future future husband from me!" Martha accusingly said to the Banshee.
Martha was not convinced however and continued to bore a gaze of suspicion upon the Banshee.
"Goodness gracious no!" The Banshee replied in a shocked voice.
"Alright well...maybe perhaps that was one of the reasons I'm here, but I swear on Hel's name that my main purpose was to sooth the dying human inside!" The Banshee further added to her previous statement.
"Did you say dying?" Mavi asked in a faint voice.
"Mavi! We need to go him now!" Martha frantically stated.
Without another moment's waste Martha had quickly figured out how to open the large metallic door that guarded this so called floating room. All three mamono rushed inside as quick as they could, time now their greatest enemy. Whilst navigating the base Martha noticed that it possesses technologies that were decades, no centuries ahead of what even the Royal Makai had.
But alas, she had no time to admire or study the base as with every second that passed she sensed the two human's spirit energy slowly growing fainter and fainter.
FInally, after what felt like an eternity of running thourgh seemingly endless hallways they reached an isolated room where indeed two humans lay unconcious.
"No way, it can't be, that's the Shisui of Lescatie! What is he doing here?" Martha asked.
Rushing towards the young Uchiha Martha turned him over onto his back. Using her magitech to inspect his condition Martha breathed a sigh of relief to find out that aside from damage to his right eye due to strain, his pulse was normal and condition stable.
The Banshee meanwhile tended to Damian by also turning him over so he lay on his back.
The Banshee wept silently at Damian's partly charred body; with some of her tears landing on him.
The Banshee's mind: (I sense an immense sorrow and regret within in his soul. Dear human, why are you so troubled?)
The Banshee held her hands together in prayer.
"Mo dhia riamh chomh trócaireach. Tabhair neart dom, le do thoil, chun corp, aigne agus anam an fhir seo a leigheas. Más gá dom é a thairiscint ina chorp chun sólás a thabhairt dó agus a chinntiú go mbeidh a shaol slán sábháilte i mo lámha."
The third degree burns that covered Damian's entire right side of his body and face slowly healed as the Banshee conducted her prayer.
Damian's breathing had become more stable now that his wounds and mind were healed considerably. But she knew he would need more rest, and a lot of that to ensure his recovery went smoothly and his Spirit Energy levels were replenished to healthy levels.
"Martha, give him to me. I'll take care of him from here." Mavi softly said.
"Hmm. S-sure." Martha meekly replied, moving aside so as to allow Mavi to inspect Shisui's unconscious form.
Mavi examined the unconscious Shisui. Smiling softly she hummed while continuing to brush her hand on Shisui's cheek.
"Ara-ara. You look so peaceful when you are asleep. I know I am but a stranger to you, and I do not know if you can hear me, but if you can, I want you to know that I will take care of you now. You have worked so hard to ensure the safety of both mamono and humans and you deserve nothing but the deepest love in the whole wide world." Mavi cooed.
Without another word Mavi picked up Shisui as if he were a fragile child. The Banshee did likewise and cradled Damian bridal style.
Martha pouted that she was the only one not holding a man in her arms.
"My apologies for not introducing myself earlier. My name is Juliette." The Banshee now known as Juliette introduced herself.
"Juliette. A pleasure to meet you, I am Mavi and this is Martha." Mavi introduced herself and Martha to Juliette.
"It is truly a joy to meet you both, but I must go now for I cannot properly tend to this human's wounds inside such a place as this one." Juliette politely stated.
"Why not stay with us? It is too dangerous to venture outside alone outside." Mavi warned Juliette.
"Juliette thought about the offer for a moment, before deciding to speak again.
"You do make a good point. On my way here I did notice a garrison of Order soldiers. So for the time being I shall remain amongst your company." juliette stated.
"Pfff great. I make the device to find husbands and yet I'm the only one without a husband." Martha whined out aloud.
Juliette look at her in worry and confusion.
"Did I say something wrong that might've offended you?" She politely asked Martha.
"No you did not." Martha answered in a deadpan voice.
Without another word Martha was the first to exit the underwater base. Confused at her sudden cold attitude Mavi decided it was best to ask her about it tomorrow and too left the base carrying Shisui, with Juliette not too far behind carrying Damian as well.
(Back in Lescatie...)
The leader of the liberation of Lescatie and fourth daughter of the current Demon Lord Druella frantically paced up and down the corridors of the Royal Palace. Everything had gone to plan, well almost everything, except Shisui and the self proclaimed mamono vigilante Damian currently being MIA.
"Where could Shisui be ?" Druella muttered to herself as she continued to pace back and forth.
A succubus flew inside the palace frantically, surprising Druella.
"Lady Druella! Lady Druella! There is a man outside who demands your audience!" A succubus cried out.
"A man? What are his intentions?" Druella asked, concerned who this man is?"
"I do not know Lady Druella! But I sensed a seething malice from him, so I doubt his intentions are good." The succubus answered.
Flying outside the palace Druella quickly spotted the man standing by the palace balcony that overlooked Lescatie. He wore a black cloak with red clouds, had spiky orange hair and most peculiar had several piercings on his nose, chin and ears.
"Greetings to you, I am Druella, fourth daughter of the Demon Lord and Princess of the Royal Makai, and whom might you be?" Druella introduced herself.
"I am Pain, leader of the Akatsuki." Pain said in his stoic and calm voice.
"Pain? That is a rather off name no?" Druella nonchalantly asked .
"What I have is not a name, but a representation of my beliefs. Once all humans have experienced Pain, then only can they achieve true peace." Pain explained his beliefs and life views to Druella, who listened inventively but internally did not like where this was going.
"What do you mean by that if I may ask?" She asked again.
"That love is the reason why there is pain, when we lose someone precious to us, hate is born. Vengeance is the product of that hate and so death follows. But in death there is only more death. This will give rise to more pains. In this cursed world we live in, it is a cycle of hatred that will not cease."
"You are correct that hatred only begets more hatred, I disagree with your methods of peace. Your methods are counter-productive and will only serve to continue the cycle of hate instead of ending it. I believe that love is the cure to the disease known as hatred and that your conclusions about war, pain, and justice all fall short and helpless before the power of true love that all mamono have for life." Druella passionately stated, with some nearby succubi cheering her on.
"All life? Including that of humans?" Pain enquired.
"Yes. Especially humans." Druella reaffirmed her previous statement.
"If you love humans so much then may I ask, why did your mother abandon my world when we needed you most? Why did she, despite proclaiming her unwavering love for humanity and your own words which echo her own merrily forget about my world?" Pain asked with a rising anger in his voice.
Druella gasped in shock at the question. Truly she was stumped at how to respond. It took her longer than she liked, approximately 10 seconds before she could conjure her own reply.
"Had we known about your world we would have entered it and helped improve the lives of every human in it. I am sorry for the all the hardships you and your world experienced but please I warn you that hate and revenge will not make you feel any better and instead only serve to destroy you. Come to us please, it's not too late for you, we will love you, shelter you and above all protect you at all costs." Druella pleaded with the leader of the Akatsuki.
"You're too late for that. Fifteen years too late. My only concern is ensuring that peace is achieved no matter the cost." Pain coldly rejected Druella's offer.
"And how would you go about ensuring your way of peace is achieved? By murdering countless innocents?" Druella asked him.
"Precisely. Humans despite their flaws have one redeeming trait; that being their empathy. Unfortunately when a group of humans have not experienced the same pain as another group they will never understand them and in turn, will never understand the suffering they went through. So by creating as much suffering for everyone only then will human society permanently change for the better." Pain explained.
"People do not need to die to make a peaceful world a reality. Us mamono are proof of that." Druella firmly stated.
"Then you will suffer with them. Anybody who gets in the way of my plans will be killed." Pain warned Druella.
"Seize him." Druella ordered her Dullahan underlings to do. When both attempted to restrain the Deva Path the Naraka and Asura path intercepted them.
"Where did they come from?" One of the Dullahans asked.
"I will not kill any of you know, as my only intent was to deliver a message." Pain said as he jumped on the roof above the balcony, looking down at Druella and the two Dullahans with nothing but the utmost disgust.
"Listen well for I shall not repeat myself. The Chief God is dead and you will all suffer her fate if you choose this foolish quest of yours. Give up now, or suffer the inevitable fate of death." Pain threatened the mamono below.
"Give up? Why? So we can go back to the era of old where there was just nothing but suffering and despair? No!" The Dullahan restrained by the Naraka path vehemently objected.
"Very well then, I gave you a chance to save yourselves but you instead chose to protect the worthless scum known as humanity. Marks my words I will be back, but will not be as merciful with Jashin and my Akatsuki by my side." Pain declared one final time before in a poof of smoke, he, the Naraka and Asura paths disappeared.
Pain arrived back at the Mizukage building in the Hidden Mist village. Every Akatsuki member minus Nullus was present and to his suprise the Kaguya Clan leader survied the invasion of Heaven.
"A pleasure to see you again Pain. What did Lilith's whore daughter say to you?" Jashin enthusiastically asked.
"She simply stated like her foolish mother that my methods are wrong and that she and her forces would still accept me." Pain answered flatly.
"Hmpf. Why am I not surprised. Anyway I have good news that I was rather eager to tell once you got back." Jashin exclaimed.
"Hmmm? Do tell." Pain said.
"When I absorbed Ilias' powers I gained a new ability; one that I myself in all my years had never thought possible to exist. What I mean is that with her power my Rinnegan was empowered ten fold and I gained a new power; one that allowed me to see into alternate realities of your own world." Jashin revealed.
The entire room was filled with simultaneous gasps. Surely everyone believed that Jashin had to be bluffing.
"Here. Allow me to demonstrate. Bring forth to me the most recent reincarnation of Indra Otsutsuki!" Jashin's voice bellowed out as a portal opened in the meeting room.
On the other side of the portal stood a young raven haired man who wore a white kimono shirt with black trousers held together by a purple rope. The young man looked on curiously before entering the portal with extreme caution.
"And now! Bring forth the adversary who almost bested him in combat!" Jashin yelled, as a similar portal appeared right beside the first one where a man with long blonde hair stood looking around the room with an annoyed expression.
"Where am I? And what is this?" The raven haired boy curiously asked.
"Where the hell am I hmmm!?" The blonde man angrily asked.
"Sasuke. Deidara. A pleasure to meet you both. You may not know me, but I know you."
A/N: In case you are wondering, the Sasuke and Deidara summoned by Jashin are from the main timeline. Also, I wonder who of you caught the Green Day refence? I know that it's been a while since we've seen Mangetsu, Guy, Kakashi and the Cloud ninja. But I assure you that they will make an appearance in the next chapter.
