Mama Mirajane-39
"Come at me with your best shot." Scythe growled, glaring at Azuma.
Azuma lunged himself at Scythe with as much force as his legs could muster, ready to strike Scythe with a pointblank ranged explosion. Ducking under Azuma's arm, Scythe with his fist gripped in his other hand, slammed his elbow into Azuma's stomach, and with the added force of Azuma's own attack, there was a bone chilling crack coming from Azuma's body, as he coughed up an immense amount of blood.
"That's one down, only six more to go." Scythe said, as Azuma dropped to the ground, either unconscious due to the force of the hits, or dead from instantaneous amounts of internal bleeding.
"Scythe… you just took him out in two blows." Wendy said, looking down at Azuma.
"An' I've got six more to deal with, but the one I'm wanting to take out the most, is the one who burned the people who raised me, to ashes." Scythe exclaimed veins bulging on his tightly clenched fists.
'That fire in his eyes, he's serious.' Wendy thought.
"So what are you going to do now?" Lily asked.
"First, I'm gonna dispose of the idiots trying to surround us." Scythe exclaimed, kicking Azuma's body over the cliff.
Wendy's head popped up in surprise before she looked around, noticing that they were indeed surrounded by a bunch of masked men with the Grimoire Heart Emblem on their masks.
"So you found us out huh?" One of them asked.
"Wendy, you think you got enough strength left in you to get the others back to camp with a Celestial Teleportation? I'm sure mom and Aunt Lisanna could use the backup." Scythe said.
"But what about you?" Wendy asked.
"Oh, don't worry about me." Scythe said, his gaze never leaving the masked men surrounding them. "But Touko is at the campsite, it's a long story, but I'll fill you in on it later as to why she's here."
"Right." Wendy said. "Everybody hold hands and hang on tight."
"What are you going to do child?" Carla asked.
"I'm gonna get you all to the campsite." Wendy exclaimed.
Grabbing each other's hands, Wendy focused her energy, before Celestial light illuminated the three exceeds and human.
"Velvet, be sure to tell Mira about who Mest really is, and you along with Lily protect Touko with your lives, you got me?" Wendy said, before letting go of the hands she held.
"Wait, Wendy." Carla cried out before they disappeared.
"I thought I told you to go with them Wendy?" Scythe asked. "This is my fight, and my fight alone."
"Sorry honey, but what kind of wife would I be if I abandoned my husband in his time of need?" Wendy asked, reequipping Ulster's spear from the Celestial Armory.
"Gáe Bolg? Interesting choice of weaponry." Scythe smiled. His clothes glowing as he reequipped them to his Celestial Knight Uniform.
"Well, let's just say the sniper rifle wasn't the only weapon that chose me." Wendy smiled doing the same with her clothes. "I could feel this weapon pulling at me, like it was made for me."
"Interesting." Scythe smiled, reequipping Grimm Reaper into his hands, and making the blade enter it Shikai form. "Bankai."
With a rush of power, the twin blades entered their Falchion Bankai forms, and Scythe stood back to back with Wendy as both their eyes burned with a fiery passion.
~Celestial Armory~
"Interesting." Shirou smiled as he and Rin were looking through the crystal ball that was in the study. "They're not entering this battle as Meister and Weapon, but as two warriors, both of Archer, Saber, and Lancer classes in their own rights."
"I find their forms and their weapons interesting. Reminds me of when Ulster and you would fight back to back during the Great Dragon King Festival when we first came to Earthland." Rin smiled.
"I agree. Wendy's hair is the same color as his, and if Scythe's hair were white, then this would be the spitting image of us, except with a female Ulster." Shirou smiled.
"I'll send the others to round up the rest of the Seven Kin back onto their flying ship." Rin said, walking away with a smile.
~Tenrou Island~
"You ready Wendy?" Scythe asked.
"Do you even have to ask? You've helped me to grow, not just as a Sorceress, but as a person, and because of that, I'm able to face this horde of people down without feeling any of the same fear of who I was before. You've helped me learn to stand out." Wendy smirked.
"Then let's get to it." Scythe stated.
(Cue Music… Hero Too: My Hero Academia-NWTB Cover)
"ATTACK." One of the masked goons shouted as they ran for the Celestial Knight duo.
Wendy smiled as she spun the crimson red spear around, and used it to knock several of the Grimoire Heart goons in the head, knocking them away, and unconscious. Scythe went on the attack and fought off his opponents with ease.
Wendy rolled backwards on Scythe's back, and over his shoulders, bringing his head down with the body of her spear on the back of his neck, forcing him to duck with her, evading a swing from a masked goon with a broad sword.
Sheathing his falchions on the small of his back, Scythe gripped the handles of the spear, both Wendy and him smiling, before he hoisted himself to his feet, and swung hard and fast enough for Wendy to kick each of the goons as they spun around in a circle, increasing the speed and strength of the attack with each kick.
Building up some more momentum, Scythe tossed Wendy into the air, both of them still keeping smiles on their faces as the bluenet came falling down to the ground, before landing feet first on Scythe's shoulders.
Jumping from her husband's shoulders, Wendy flipped forward, with her magic ready to strike.
"Sky Dragon: TALON." Wendy cried out, using the attack on several of the Grimoire Heart goons.
Scythe, pulled his falchion out from where he put them, and ignited them with his flames.
"Flame God: RIGHTEOUS HEAVEN'S SLASH." Scythe called out destroying their weapons, and cutting them down.
(End Song…)
"Alright, I'm going to ask you this only once." Scythe shouted as Wendy rejoined his side. "Where the hell is Zancrow and Hades?"
"Why would you care? You're just a lowly Fairy Tail fly." One of the goons said, as they were all waiting for an opportunity to strike.
"I have something I wanna say to them. An' it ain't something pretty." Scythe growled.
"I can give them your message." One of the higher ranking goons said. It was obvious he was higher ranking by the horns on his hood. "After I burn you to ashes."
"Scythe behind us." Wendy cried out.
"FIRE BULLET." The goon cried out as he sent the spell at them.
Scythe quickly wrapped himself up around Wendy, to keep her from getting hurt from the attack.
"Hold on Wendy." Scythe said, before they were enveloped by the flames.
All the goons began cheering on and praising their superior for, taking care of, Wendy and Scythe.
"Hehehe, my fire bullets are hot enough to melt solid rock. I don't care if he was a fire wizard. Neither of them could have survived… WHAT THE HELL?" The goons stopped his bragging when hearing a slurping sound, turning around to see Scythe sucking the flames down like ramen noodles.
"What is this guy?"
"He's eating fire? Impossible."
"Wait… is he… the one all the Seven Kin and Master Hades talk about?"
Scythe finished devouring the flames, and glared at them menacingly.
"Didn't Hades warn you about his, ultimate weapon, being on the island?" Scythe questioned.
"The Godslayer… Scythe, the God of War?"
"Ow." Wendy whined.
"Wendy, what's wrong?" Scythe asked, kneeling next to her.
"It's nothing serious, my arm is just burnt a little at the shoulder, that's all." Wendy said. "It just really stings."
"That's a third degree burn." Scythe said, covering her shoulder in Godslayer ice. "I'll have to treat it after I'm done dealing with these idiots."
"What are we going to do? We're dead." Two of them panicked as Scythe stood back up and glared at them.
"Flame God: WING ATTACK." Scythe shouted, using the attacks designed for Dragonslayer Magic, with his Godslayer magic.
"AH, we should get out of here."
"He's too much for us."
"No matter what we throw at this monster, we can't even touch him."
"Who the hell are you calling a monster? I'm a monster just because I'm pissed my wife was hurt by your flames?"
The goons backed up in fear, as the glare in his eyes, told them he was out for blood.
"Enough already." A voice Scythe recognized and hated with every fiber of his being, said making himself known. "I can't watch anymore."
Standing up on the boulder, was a man, with long blonde hair, dressed in robes, with half his Grimoire Heart emblem visible on his right shoulder, and an insane look in his eyes.
"It's…"
"ZANCROW." Scythe shouted his eyes locked on the man who played the red herring, as veins bulged on his forehead and arms, his whole body shaking in anger.
"Oh, if it isn't little Connor. How you been kiddo? Say, you've grown up quite a bit since the last time I saw ya. An' is that a ring I see on your finger? Oh who's the lucky girl? Is it that bluenet behind you?" Zancrow asked mockingly.
"You know it's me." Scythe said, seething in anger. "You murdered my entire village, killed every single adult, and child who fought back. Worst of all… You murdered the man and woman, I called mother and father, after we took you in, and healed your wounds."
Scythe glared up at Zancrow, the Flame Godslayer smirking devilishly.
"That is a crime… I will never forgive you of…" Scythe stated as tears streamed down his cheeks.
"Well, you want revenge right? Come and get it." Zancrow smirked, turning to look at his squadron. "Leave these two to me. I was hoping to get some exercise on this trip. I'll pound this runt and his wife into submission, and force them to join our ranks, while you go look for Zeref. Judging by what I've seen so far, it shouldn't take more than a few minutes."
"So Grimoire Heart's goals really are Scythe and the Black Wizard." Wendy said. "We're just collateral caught in the middle of it."
"Thanks a lot Zancrow." One of the goons thanked as they marched away.
"We owe you one."
"I didn't think they had anyone that strong."
"He definitely lives up to his rep." Zancrow's smirk turned into a scowl after hearing that last comment.
"Hold it right there." Zancrow called to them. "He's strong? This Fairy Tail pansy, scares you?"
"Uh, well…"
"It was a slip of the tongue."
"Please forgive us."
"There's no guild in this world that can come close to the strength of Grimoire Heart." Zancrow said, as black flames began surrounding his body. "Understand?"
"Black flames?" Wendy gasped.
"If you think he's stronger than us, then you don't belong here." Zancrow stated.
"That power. He's strong. I've only ever felt Scythe with power like this, when he fought Jack." Wendy gulped, remembering feeling the crushing weight of Scythe when he fought her ex-boyfriend.
"An' as of right now, you're all out of the guild." Zancrow cried out as all of the Grimoire Heart goons burst in a flurry of black flames.
"No way, he just killed them all… like they were nothing." Wendy said in shock, seeing the ashes the goons became as the Flame Godslayer laughed insanely. "Burnt them all to ashes."
"ZANCROW." Scythe shouted.
Zancrow looked forward, confused as to where the voice came from if Scythe was no longer where he was standing a few seconds ago, before he was hit in the back of the neck by a sturdy metal covered leg that sent him falling to the ground.
Scythe leapt from the top of the small cliff and scooped up Wendy in his arms, taking her to a safe distance away from the fighting area.
"You'll be safe here. Call for any of the available servants to help you if needed." Scythe instructed, putting her down.
"What about you?" Wendy asked. "What are you going to do, you're not gonna fight him alone are you?"
"Heh, I'm the best there is at what I do." Scythe smiled. "But what I do, isn't very nice." He said, stealing Logan's line.
~Unnamed Bar in Magnolia~
"Achoo." Logan sneezed.
"You doing all right there bud?" The bar keep asked.
"I'm fine. Someone's just talking about me." Logan said, before taking another drink of his beer.
"LOGAN." A woman's voice said, taking him by surprise from behind, as she appeared out of nowhere.
"AH." Logan cried out as he fell off the barstool and onto his back.
Looking up after clearing the stars from his vision, he saw a face he thought he'd never see again.
"Oh, uh… hi honey. How's the Celestial Realm treating you?" Logan asked, sweating nervously.
"It's treating me good. Would be better if I didn't have a chronic alcoholic husband who was bar hopping the entire continent." Amaterasu said tapping her foot.
"Heh, what can I say? I'm looking for the right place to settle down for my retirement." Logan chuckled nervously.
"Our grandson is out on Tenrou Island, fighting Grimoire Heart's Zancrow for his life, and you're just sitting here drinking your life away." Amaterasu exclaimed.
"Hey, how was I supposed to know he's in trouble?" Logan asked instantly on his feet, facing her.
Amaterasu reached into his shirt pocket and pulled out his P.C.L, and shoved it in his chest. Logan looked at it, and saw the front was flashing red, signaling an alert from Scythe had been sent to him, nearly twenty minutes prior.
"Oh, okay yeah. That's on me." Logan sighed.
"If the fight between Grimoire Heart and Fairy Tail keeps progressing as it is now, Ragnar, our son, will be drawn to the chaos, and even with all his power, Scythe won't be able to stop him." Amaterasu exclaimed. "I've already enlisted the help of one of his friends from the gym he runs. But you're his grandfather, and right now he's facing off against the man who destroyed his entire life, within a single night."
Logan sighed and tapped the screen on his P.C.L, signaling that he got the message, and put it back in his pocket, before paying his tab, and turning back to Amaterasu, a serious look in his eye.
"Let's go save our grandson." He said sternly.
~Tenrou Island~
"C'mon, don't tell me that's the best you got." Zancrow laughed, upper-cutting Scythe, sending him flying back into a rock wall.
"No, I'm just getting started." Scythe shouted picking himself up and running for Zancrow, with his claws out.
"Oh, shiny. But useless if you can't land a single hit on me." Zancrow smirked, before hitting Scythe in the stomach with his knee, and kicking him away back into the rock wall. "You really are pathetic. You surround yourself with people weaker than yourself, just to feel strong and loved. When in reality, you're nothing but a weakling, who's afraid of being alone again."
"Then it's a good thing, he's not alone."
Zancrow looked to where the voice came from, before his face was hit by a metal fist, painted gold and black, as the blonde bombshell of an MMA Fighter sent him flying.
"Yang?" Scythe asked, as she helped him to his feet.
"Hey boss, your grandmother thought you could use a hand." Yang smiled as Logan and Amaterasu appeared.
"I see you've already made your whereabouts known to him." Amaterasu said, trapping Zancrow in a cage of fire, not even he could devour.
"Yeah, I thought he could use some help since that creep was pounding his face in." Yang said.
"You know he's the gender opposite you right?" Scythe asked.
"I actually can see that." Yang sighed. "What's his name, magic, and deal?"
"His name is Zancrow, he's a member of Grimoire Heart's Elite Seven Kin of Purgatory, and he's the man who killed my adoptive parents." Scythe exclaimed. "He's also a Flame Godslayer."
"Ironic, since I'm the Fire Demonslayer." Yang smirked. "But unfortunately I'm only at half strength with one arm, so I'm not sure I'll be able to battle him head on."
"I can help with that." Amaterasu said, gripping Yang's mechanical arm, before it shimmered and turned a molten red, like it was gonna melt, before the molten color died down, and her arm looked like it was flesh and blood again. "I did the same thing with your mechanical arm that I did with Scythe's artificial eye, and turned it from inorganic to organic matter. The only way it could be removed now, is if you took an axe or a chainsaw to it and cut it off."
"I can actually feel it." Yang smiled, tears welling up in her eyes. "It's real again, and made of flesh and bone."
"You're going to need these." Amaterasu said, creating two red bracelets and giving them to Yang.
Yang put them on and thrust her fists forward, turning into black and red gauntlets.
"What are they?" Yang asked.
"They're called Ember Celica. Gauntlets that fire off shotgun blasts and have a real kick to them. In another dimension, you're actually quite good at using these, and since I made them with my divinity, the rounds are endless, you just need to give them five seconds to automatically reload after you go through the twelve rounds in each barrel." Amaterasu smiled. "I'll explain more on the other dimensional you later, right now, we have a job to do."
"Scythe." Wendy cried out running towards them.
"Wendy, I thought I told you to stay somewhere safe?" Scythe asked.
"I'm not gonna let you fight him alone." Wendy said. "We can fight him together."
"She's right kid. You're gonna need her." Logan smiled.
"Fine. Gramps, Yang, I want you both to head north, run far enough in that direction, and you'll get to the campsite. Granny, I want you to make sure Hades doesn't leave that flying guildhall of his." Scythe exclaimed. "Wendy and I will finish Zancrow."
"What's the objective of the fight?" Yang asked.
"Don't die, and strike them down without mercy." Scythe said, taking Wendy's hand.
"My kind of fight." Logan smirked, lighting a cigar. "We'll see you at the end of this kid."
Logan and Yang went running through the woods as Amaterasu dispelled her fire cage from Zancrow, who was now beyond pissed off.
"You think that just because you got some backup, means you can defeat me?" Zancrow asked. "You're delusional if you think that'll happen. There's no one in the world stronger than any of the Seven Kin of Purgatory, or Grimoire Heart."
"That's where you're wrong Zancrow." Scythe said, holding Wendy's hand a bit tighter. "There's always someone stronger than you, even if you think you're the strongest."
"You are completely unfit to wield the power of a Godslayer." Amaterasu said. "I wish I could stay and take your power from you, but my grandson has a personal score to settle with you first. Plus, I have to make sure Hades doesn't leave the airship. Tata."
"Now it's just you and us Zancrow." Scythe stated.
"Not quite." Zancrow smirked, before whistling with his index finger and thumb, as if calling for some dog or animal. "We've still got another weapon at our disposal. I believe you both know him already. His body was in pretty rough shape when Master Hades brought it to his lab. But that hasn't stopped him from tinkering with him, and bringing him back from the dead."
The ground beneath their feet began to shake, and the trees began to quiver, as whatever Zancrow called for, got closer, and closer. There was a foul stench in the air, that neither Scythe nor Wendy could identify the scent of. But something did come to both their minds. Who did they both know, whose body was roughed up, who was dead, and who would catch Grimoire Heart's eye? Their answer came when a seven foot tall Lava Demon, known as Jack, came into view, with the pieces of his body Scythe destroyed, replaced with stone and lava.
"About damn time you called me out to play. I was starting to get bored just sitting on standby." Jack exclaimed, his voice sounding completely different.
"Oh quit your whining, and get ready to fight." Zancrow exclaimed.
"Wendy, so good to see you again my darling. I think we're overdue for a night of passion and love." Jack smiled spreading his arms expecting a hug.
"How the hell are you still alive Jack?" Scythe questioned.
"Oh it's you. I honestly have no idea, one minute I'm burning in hell, the next I'm waking up on an examination table, with my body fully restored, better than new." Jack exclaimed. "Now if you'd be so kind as to step away from my girlfriend."
"I'm not your girlfriend Jack." Wendy said. "We broke up the moment you decided to try and force yourself on me."
"Oh beloved don't say that, I promise you that I had every intention of making it as pleasurable for you, as it was for me." Jack exclaimed. "Please come back to me, and we can start over again, with a clean slate."
"News flash Jack. Wendy is off the market." Scythe said. "She's my wife."
Jack's eyes shrank hearing those words, and his smile turned insane.
"No, no. Nice try with the joke, but I'm not so stupid that I'd fall for that." Jack smiled, with a light laugh.
"He's telling you the truth Jack." Wendy said, holding up her left hand, showing the wedding band. "We got married three weeks ago."
"Hate to say this man, oh who am I kidding I love being the bearer of bad news, but they're both wearing wedding bands, so they're not lying, or joking." Zancrow smirked.
"No. Nononononononononononononononononononono." Jack kept repeating the same word over and over again, his face contorting as if trying to comprehend quantum physics equation. "My darling Wendy, stolen away from me and deceived by someone who isn't deserving of her."
(Cue Music… Fighter: Christina Aguilera)
"Oh boy, I think he's snapped." Scythe said. "Wendy, I think it might be time to put some of our DWMA lessons to practice."
"Good idea." Wendy said, as Scythe took weapon form, and she gripped the hilt tightly.
"Oh, that's cool. Takeover Magic? Or Transformation Magic?" Zancrow asked.
"None of your business Zancrow." Scythe said, his silhouette appearing on the metal of the crescent blade over Wendy's shoulder. "You ready Wendy?"
"As I'll ever be." Wendy said.
"I won't let her love be given to anyone but me." Jack said, sounding like he was straining to make sense of something. "I'm the only one who deserves her love, and her mine. I will make her see the light, and return to me."
"Looks like he's actually lost it." Wendy said taking a battle stance.
"Let's go." Scythe called out, before Wendy went running towards their opponents.
Wendy rushed towards Zancrow and Jack, ignoring the pain in her shoulder, as the ice melted from the heat of the burn. Just as she was about to reach the duo of enemies, Wendy took one more step forward, before using her wind magic to send her to the side, while swinging Scythe at the red eyed blonde, taking him by surprise.
"Not good enough." Zancrow shouted, using his flames to propel himself up into the air, and over Scythe's blade before it could strike him. "Now's the part, where you die."
"I don't think so." Scythe cried out, as the three serrated tips on the top curve of his blade extended, and cut Zancrow's side, just as he landed on the ground beside Wendy. "So that's what happens when I try using my claws in weapon form, nice."
"You little bitch." Zancrow shouted. "Hey Demon Boy, you gonna fight or not?"
"Don't…" Jack began. "Don't you dare, put your filthy hands on my precious Wendy."
Jack went running at Wendy, aiming to grab Scythe by the hilt, and break him into pieces.
"Wendy, I'm gonna channel my lightning magic through you. You should be able to move as fast as I do when I use it if I do that." Scythe exclaimed.
"Then what are you waiting for?" Wendy asked, jumping back, and forth, evading and blocking attacks from the duo of enemies. "An invitation?"
Scythe concentrated on coursing his lightning magic through Wendy's body, like how it would course through him. Wendy's eyes went from hazelnut brown, to glowing a neon blue, as she began to run around the area, striking both Jack and Zancrow with Scythe's blades, leaving cuts all over their bodies.
"That's ENOUGH." Zancrow shouted, clapping his hands, sending a wave of flames out, knocking Wendy back. "I've just about had it with these games. It's time to end this."
"Aw, come on, it was just starting to get good." Wendy joked.
"Hey Zancrow, Jack. I know you two aren't smart enough to realize what we were up to, but surely you know what you're standing in."
Zancrow and Jack looked at the ground, their eyes widening as they recognized it as a magic circle, one Wendy was safely outside of.
"Goodbye, and good riddance." Wendy smirked slamming her hand on the circle and channeling some of Scythe's lightning magic through it.
The circle began to light up, before both Jack and Zancrow screamed in pain as royal blue lightning coursed through their bodies. With Wendy's temporary immunity to lightning, she raced through the active circle, at high speeds, landing on her feet on the other side, just before it died down.
(End Song…)
"An' that's checkmate." Wendy said, snapping her fingers, right before Zancrow and Jack's heads slid off their bodies, as they imploded, leaving their souls behind. "Interesting." She said as Scythe returned to human form.
"Look at that. If someone's killed with a normal weapon, their souls just travel to the afterlife." Scythe said, grabbing the orange and black soul that was Zancrow's, and the purple and green soul that was Jack's. "But if they're killed by a weapon with a soul or Kishin Soul, then they stay where they are, and manifest for that weapon to consume."
"Scythe, you know if you eat those souls you'll start becoming a Kishin right?" Wendy asked, a little concerned.
"That would only happen if the souls were pure, but look at them." Scythe said, showing them to Wendy.
"They're tainted with dark magic and insanity. It looks like none of what made them human remains." Wendy said.
"Which means that they're safe for a weapon like me to eat." Scythe said, before devouring the two tainted souls.
"Feel any different?" Wendy asked.
"Besides a boost in my power reserves? Nothing." Scythe said. "C'mon, let's get to the flying guildhall."
"Right." Wendy said.
"Wait Daddy." Little Jack girl said, appearing next to them.
"Gah, don't scare me like that." Wendy exhaled in relief.
"Sorry Mommy." She smiled.
"M-Mommy?" Wendy questioned, her face going completely red.
"Calm down Wendy, just breathe. What do you need Jackie." Scythe said, calling her by her nickname, as to not get her confused with Wendy's ex.
"Master Emiya wanted me to report to you that the rest of the Seven Kin that remain have been put back on the flying guildhall, and the rest of the foot soldiers have been taken care of, thanks to the efforts of the rest of us summoned servants, however one of the Seven Kin is a Celestial Spirit being possessed by a former man servant of the Heartfilia Family." Jack exclaimed. "So, he'd like you to try and separate them if you could."
"It's possible, I suppose. I'd just have to directly infuse some magic energy to the spirit's core to give him strength to break free of the hold that's on him." Scythe exclaimed healing the burn on Wendy's shoulder.
"What's the name of the spirit?"
"Capricorn. A large goat man in a tuxedo vest wearing sunglasses." Jack exclaimed.
"Good to know. Report back to my grandfather, and tell him it's being handled immediately." Scythe said.
"Yes Daddy." Jack said saluting before dissipating to the Celestial Armory.
Scythe took Wendy's hand, and they both used their Celestial Teleportation to get to the flying guildhall of Grimoire Heart, where the remainder of the Seven Kin were forced to reside, thanks to Amaterasu's spell, making sure Hades wouldn't be able to leave the ship, and by extension, the rest of the Seven Kin, that have been returned to it.
Scythe and Wendy went walking into the flying guild hall, following the sensation of powerful magic coming from the center of the ship. Upon arriving in the main hall of the flying guild, they both weren't too surprised at the sight of Amaterasu sitting in a chair, dressed in a somewhat revealing police uniform, reading the latest issue of My Hero Academia Manga, while eating from a bag of potato chips, as there were six people trapped in cages made of fire. Beside her was a table with confiscated items piled high on it. But judging from the looks of things, they took a guess to say four of the six had already taken pretty nasty beatings, not doubt from the other members of Fairy Tail, still on the island.
"What are you doing Granny?" Scythe asked, alerting her to their presence.
"Oh, nothing. Just making sure the prisoners are locked and secured sir." Amaterasu said, saluting him.
"Why are you addressing me like that?" Scythe asked raising an eyebrow.
"I thought it'd be fun to play the part of a lazy security guard who got caught slacking off." Amaterasu said, changing back into her normal clothes, in a pillar of fire.
"Alright well, don't release all of them. Just release them one at a time when I tell you to." Scythe chuckled. "First off, release Ultear and Meredy."
"Both at once, are you sure?" Wendy asked.
"I'm sure. These two are the most harmless out of all of them." Scythe said.
"What would make you say that?" Amaterasu asked.
"Well, Meredy didn't exactly hide herself from me when she'd bring me helpings of properly cooked food during my enslavement here." Scythe snickered, seeing the pink haired girl blushing.
"What about Ultear?" Wendy asked.
"Let's just say, she wasn't exactly big on Grimoire Heart's plans for genocide. An' that lead to her and Meredy forming their own plans of keeping Zeref out of Hades reach." Scythe exclaimed. "So let them out. But keep their magic locked."
"As you wish Scythe." Amaterasu said, dispersing the cages that held two of the remaining five Kin of Purgatory.
The duo stood up from where they had been sitting and walked up to Scythe, hesitant about going to a head on attack, with or without their magic, as they didn't know the extent of his relationship with the Goddess.
"You both look like crap." Scythe exclaimed.
"I took a beating from Juvia." Meredy said.
"I got my ass handed to me by Grey."
"Oh you mean one of your honorary siblings." Scythe smiled.
"I guess you could say that." Ultear sighed.
"So, you two were going to abandon Grimoire Heart as soon as you got your hands on Zeref, is that correct?" Scythe asked.
"Pretty much." Meredy confirmed.
"All right. You two can go to the boat you had stashed away on the other side of the island. Just don't go blabbing to anyone I let you two free." Scythe sighed. "An' please, try to make a better living for yourselves. But also." Scythe stopped as he punched Ultear in the stomach then face, knocking her down. "I know you only tortured me to keep up appearances with Hades, but trust me when I say, I took it personal, and consider those payback."
"Noted." Ultear wheezed as she stood back up.
"Now get going, and don't forget you thing on your way out." Scythe said.
As Ultear and Meredy went to leave, Scythe put a hand on the pink haired girl's shoulder, keeping her there for a second.
"Hey, I'm only going to tell you this, because we experienced the same thing involving the places we grew up in, but you should know who was responsible for your town's destruction." Scythe said. "I overheard Zancrow talking with Bluenote and Rusty about how Ultear should have just finished you off, like she did with the rest of your town."
"What are you saying?" Meredy questioned.
"I'm saying I overheard Zancrow admit that Ultear was the one leading the charge that destroyed your home and family." Scythe exclaimed. "Now get going before she gets suspicious as to why you're not following her. But do ask her about what I've just told you."
"Uh… right." Meredy said, before running off, following Ultear.
"Uh, hey why did he let Ultear and Meredy go?" A big blubbery pale skinned man asked.
"His sympathy towards traitors knows no bounds." A man in an overcoat, and silvery hair said.
"Now then." Scythe said, looking at the confiscated items, finding a peculiar doll there. "Well what do we have here?" He asked, picking it up.
"Ah, no not Mr. Cursey." Hikaru said, trying to reach through the flaming bars but retracted his hand as he felt it burn. "One of my quills are still stuck in him."
"Now what is it you had me do Hikaru?" Scythe asked, noticing the black strand of hair, in the doll, causing the big guy to quiver. "Oh that's right. You did this."
Scythe bent Mr. Cursey's arm in a way it wasn't supposed to, and Hikaru screamed in pain when the sound of bones snapping echoed through the room.
"An' this."
Scythe twisted Mr. Cursey into a pretzel, Hikaru mimicking the pose against his will as his spine cracked, from bending in a way it wasn't supposed to for someone his size.
"Let's not forget about this."
Scythe pulled on Mr. Cursey's arms and legs at the same time, causing Hikaru to scream out as not only did pain run through his broken arm, but all the joints in his arms and legs became dislocated.
"I think that's enough for now." Scythe said, tossing Mr. Cursey back to the table. "If I were to inflict everything you did to me, onto you right now, you'd die from the shock and pain."
"I must say boy, I've never seen this side of you before. I'm surprised it's only revealing itself now." Hades said.
"Oh trust me. Your little trespassing of Fairy Tail's sacred ground, has only scratched the surface of what I can do when mad, Second Master Precht." Scythe growled.
"What?" Wendy asked. "He was a master of Fairy Tail? But how is he still alive if he's older than Master Makarov?"
"The same way he was able to accelerate Scythe's age to what it is now." Amaterasu said.
"His longevity is due to his spiritual connection to the Demon Heart powering the ship. It's a demon from the Book of Zeref, that doesn't seem to have an actual weakness." Scythe said. "Originally, if I remember what Hades told me of it correctly, Zeref created it to put in the corpse of his dead little brother, and bring him back to life, but that experiment turned out to be a failure, and added it to his library."
"You remembered the lessons I gave you child?" Hades asked.
"Only the lessons that didn't involve using me as a moving target for Zancrow, Azuma, and Rusty, or a punching bag for Capricorn and Ultear, and Azuma's hand to hand combat training." Scythe exclaimed. "If I'm being honest, those were the only times before your experimentation on me, that actually made you seem like a decent person."
"I see." Hades exclaimed, stroking his beard.
"But that's all in the past. Right now I have a duty to avenge my village, even if they hated me for who I am." Scythe said clenching his fists in anger. "So many innocent lives lost, innocent women, children, men, grandparents, and parents dead."
"I can see you're angry boy, so just spit it out." Hades exclaimed.
"You die today. Here and now." Scythe declared, the air pressure around him changing as he let his power leak out.
"I'll move the others to the rafters." Amaterasu said, snapping her fingers, moving the prisoners and their cages up higher where the battle couldn't reach them. Wendy and Amaterasu appeared on a different rafter, having a good view of the ground below, as the cage Hades was in, just dispersed into smoke.
"You're a fool boy, if you think you can beat me in a fight." Hades said.
"I'll never know unless I try." Scythe said, taking a fighting stance.
"It seems you've learned some Kung Fu, from John Wick no doubt." Hades exclaimed, staying in place. "But your power is still pitiful."
"You have no idea how powerful I am." Scythe said, from behind Hades, as his only visible eye widened in surprise as he didn't even see Scythe move, let alone sense the boy get behind him.
Hades didn't even have time to dodge the roundhouse kick to his head that sent him flying, and into the wall.
(Cue Music… Indestructible: Disturbed)
"If you've been spying on me, like I know you have been, then you already know I've had a large portion of my power sealed away as to prevent any deaths in the MMA Battle Royal Wendy and I fought in a couple months back." Scythe said.
"You broke that seal when Adam killed Wendy in the fight." Hades said, picking himself up, like Scythe's attack didn't even phase him.
"Wrong." Scythe exclaimed. "The seal is still active as we speak. I can't remove it myself, only my mom can remove it, or I could break it will enough anger. But I'm not gonna need the power I've got locked away, at least not yet."
Scythe and Hades ran to one another, with Hades starting off by using his Chain Magic, and sending it off to latch onto Scythe's throat.
Grabbing the chain, after dodging its grasp, Scythe spun around like a mini tornado, pulling Hades in like a yoyo, before using the momentum to slam Hades to the ground, by a fist to the head.
"You're finished Hades." Scythe shouted, as the magic chain disappeared, with Scythe igniting his fists in flames.
"Not yet." Hades snickered, snapping his fingers.
The flames around Scythe dissipated, causing him to look on in confusion.
"What the?" Scythe began to question, before he was slammed into a wall, by Hades and his Chain Magic.
"SCYTHE." Wendy cried out, attempting to make a run for her husband, but stopped when Amaterasu put a hand on her shoulder to hold her back.
"Just wait child. My grandson is like a fierce animal when pushed into a corner. An' you know what they say about cornered animals, they're the most dangerous." Amaterasu exclaimed.
"You didn't really think I'd inject you with enough Etherion Godslayer magic, to start you off on rivaling your father's power, without having a contingency plan did you?" Hades asked slowly walking up to him. "Along with the liquefied lacrima I also injected you with a failsafe that would eliminate any trace of Etherion Godslayer magic it could find, making you pitiful and weak normal boy."
"You bastard." Scythe growled.
"Now this is what's gonna happen. You're going to go find Zancrow and Jack, and help them find Zeref, before returning here. If you don't, then everyone on this island that you love, will die." Hades exclaimed, tightening the chains he had wrapped around Scythe's neck.
"Hate to break it to you Hades, but those two assholes are dead." Scythe said with a snicker. "Wendy and I killed them personally, since we both had personal scores to settle with them, and let me tell you, their souls weren't particularly tasty."
"You killed them, then devoured their souls?" Hades questioned, sounding surprised.
"I did. But to be honest, Jack's soul kinda tasted like rotting meat, while Zancrow's soul tasted like overcooked meat pies. Disgusting." Scythe smiled.
"I see. So you've already transcended the realm of possibilities and became what you are now." Hades exclaimed, before he reached up with his left hand, and grabbed a knife that came flying at him from behind.
"Get your hands off my daddy." Jack cried, her eyes burning with anger.
"Annoying little pest." Hades said, turning to the little girl and pointing at her.
"Jackie no. Get out of here." Scythe called to her.
"Magic Bullet." Hades chanted, firing a round of purple bullets at Jack, several piercing her shoulders and torso.
Scythe's eyes widened in horror as he saw her fall to the ground. Something in him snapped, when seeing Jack lie there, a pool of blood forming around her.
"I'll have to clean that up when I'm done. Now where were we?" Hades asked, turning back to Scythe. His eyebrows raised in curiosity when he saw Scythe was shaking.
"Now you've gone and done it Hades." Amaterasu sighed, speaking only loud enough for Wendy to hear her.
"Jackie." Wendy cried out.
"She'll be fine Wendy. She's a Summoned Spirit after all. She just needs to spend a few days in the Celestial Armory, and she'll be all healed up." Amaterasu said. "But Scythe seems to have forgotten that. Just take a look at how he's shaking with anger."
"You… bastard." Scythe growled, pushing against the chains. "Do you have any idea what the hell you've just done?"
"Oh come now. What is a child's life in the grand scheme of the dreams of Grimoire Heart?" Hades questioned.
"You bastard… I'M GONNA KILL YOU." Scythe shouted as nine golden fox tails sprouted from behind him, and went for a straight shot at Hades, as the sound of shattering glass filled the air. (A/N: For those of you who don't remember, Scythe inherited the spirit of the Nine Tailed Fox Demon from Rin, take that and Yan's soul jump starting his healing factor, near the end of the Oracion Seis arc, this manifestation of the fox tails was bound to happen sooner or later.)
The Grimoire Heart Master was forced to let go of his chains, and jump back to save his own skin, thus causing Scythe to fall to the ground from where he had been pinned to the wall. Scythe's eyes were locked onto Hades, and in a flash of blue lightning, he was in front of the old man, his fists ignited in blue fire, his mask having manifested, and changed as it now had two pointed ears on the top part.
"What? But I thought I had erased your Etherion Godslayer Magic?" Hades questioned.
"You forget Hades. Some of my power was sealed away." Scythe said, his voice sounding more demonic. "Your failsafe couldn't reach what was sealed, and eventually burned away before it could. Now I'm gonna MAKE YOU PAY."
Scythe slammed his fist into Hades stomach, before he reeled it back and repeated the hit with his other fist. Scythe continued to rapid fire punch Hades to the ground for a good ten minutes, building up a cloud of smoke and dust.
(End Song…)
As the cloud dissipated, Scythe came walking out, with Jack resting in his arms, comfortable resting her head against the crook of his neck.
"Scythe." Wendy smiled.
Scythe smiled under his mask. The nine flowing tails behind him were shining like polished gold with scarlet red tips, looking like liquid metal. The tails began to recede back into him as his mask dispersed and he was smiling again.
"C'mon, let's get going back to camp." Scythe said. "Oh and Hades." Scythe called to the old man, lying beaten and battered on the ground. "Leave this island, and never return. Your life will not be taken, by my hands, as I already have enough blood staining them, just know that if we do meet again, you won't be so lucky."
