Mama Mirajane-44
~BNA~
"Scythe, that was amazing, I've never felt any sort of rush like that." Wendy exclaimed, sounding all giddy.
"Glad you agree, those Re-Agents were just the power boosts we needed for taking down Beo and Ginger. Speaking of which, if I'm not mistaken, Virgo said that grandma and grandpa have located their current whereabouts." Scythe said as they entered the war room.
"Ah good, you both made it." Shirou exclaimed, looking up at the two of them from the charts below him. "I trust you've both completed a substantial amount of training during your years on the fifth level?"
"We did gramps." Scythe said.
"Good. Your targets have relocated themselves. However, there seems to be a slight issue with their location." Rin exclaimed.
"What's the problem?" Wendy asked.
"They're in a world where Beastmen are known everywhere, but are hunted down like wild game by certain factions who believe in human supremacy." Shirou explained.
"Sounds like a bad place for me to be in." Scythe growled.
"There's a city completely safe for Beastmen, known as Anima City. It's where they've cultivated their own stomping grounds and territory." Rin stated. "They look to a deity known as the Silver Wolf. We know for a fact he exists, but he's no god, he's just an immortal being with healing properties similar to yours Scythe."
"He's also a Celestial Knight we recruited a couple years back before our deaths." Shirou finished. "His name is, Shirou Ogami. He's a Wolf Beastman, Canis Lupus. He's got the strength to match a herd of rhinoceros, and the speed of a cheetah, all benefits to how he became immortal. Find him, you find an ally."
"How do I show him we're allies?" Scythe inquired.
"You show him your badge." Shirou exclaimed. "You'll be sent to that world immediately, but there's been another hiccup. There are two people who have been infused with the same Re-Agents you both took down on the fifth level."
"You knew I took the bags."
"Of course I did. I intentionally had you take them, knowing you'd infuse them into your bodies. But back to business." Shirou exclaimed. "One of the girl's is Michiru Kagemori, a human girl turned Beastman. One of you is gonna have to protect her, and keep your eye on her, and keep her safe."
"You got it." Wendy exclaimed.
"Who's the other?"
"Her name is Nazuna Hiwatashi, she's acting as the Silver Wolf, and leading a cult of religious followers, all because she's obsessed with becoming an idol, whether it's pop, or deity." Rin explained. "If you happen to find her, reveal the truth, that she is not the Silver Wolf, but an imposter, just seeking attention and fame."
"Got it."
"Also, and this is very important. Scythe, the Beastmen can be emotionally unstable, if they get too riled up, too anxious, or too emotional, they'll turn into literal monsters." Shirou explained. "Also, keep an eye on a man named Alan Sylvasta, if he ever makes it into the city. He's bad news, and he's not to be trusted not one bit."
"Understood." Scythe said.
"Now get going you two, times a wasting." Rin exclaimed. "You'll find Michiru on a bus, bounded for the border between Japan and Anima City."
"Got it." Wendy said.
~Bus for Anima City Border~
"Finally I made it on the bus." A blue haired tanuki girl said, sitting atop the roof of a moving bus.
She pulled out her phone to look up what she might expect to find in Anima City. But she wouldn't be alone on the bus for long.
"Hey there, mind if we join you?"
The Tanuki girl looked up to see a blue haired girl and a dual colored hair boy, with scars traveling up his right arm, and the same side of his neck and face, sitting in front of her. Both of them were wearing matching outfits of black with a red skull spider on the left pectoral.
"Yo." Scythe smiled.
"Huh, where did you two come from?"
"We hopped on the bus before you, you just didn't notice until now." Wendy chuckled.
"Oh I guess I must have been in such a rush that I didn't notice." The Tanuki girl exclaimed. "My name's Michiru Kagemori."
"Scythe Strauss."
"Wendy Marvell."
They both agreed they'd only let people know they were married if it was required, so Wendy would go with her maiden name, when introducing herself.
"I hate to be a stick in the mud, especially after just meeting you but, GET DOWN." Scythe practically shouted the last part forcing Michiru to duck, narrowly avoiding an arrow that shot past her, but hit Scythe in the side.
"Scythe." Michiru gasped.
"Looks like this is our stop." Scythe said catching the second arrow that came at them from the air. Tossing the arrow away, Scythe grabbed Michiru fireman style and jumping off the bus, with Wendy following. "Wendy, take Michiru and run to the bay, I'll meet you there."
"What about you?" Michiru asked.
"I'll be fine." Scythe grunted, pulling the first arrow out of his side. "Now go."
Wendy took Michiru by the hand, and pulled her towards the bay as the bikes and van came approaching him at fast speeds. Putting one foot back, Scythe lunged forward just as the two bikers came to swing at him with led pipes, knocking the trio off their motor bikes, while catching the crossbow one of them had been using.
"You know, it's not very nice to shoot at someone." Scythe said, bending the crossbow until it snapped.
"Filthy Beastmen like you disgust me." One of them said.
The trio jumped out of the way, as their van driver, came to ram into Scythe. The dual color haired boy held up his hands, just before the van hit him, forcing him to slide back about a dozen feet or so, before the van was forced to stop, and Scythe, with a grunt of effort, lifted it above his head, front bumper first.
"All right, I tried to be civil about this, I was hoping to talk this out, but you don't see to be in the mood for that, so violence it is." Scythe growled, before throwing the van into the side of the mountain as hard as he could, causing the gas in the tank and the fuel containers, to ignite and explode, getting him caught up in it.
"We might have lost some of our fellow brother of the hunt, but at least we got that freak." The one with the crossbow said, bowing her head.
"Oh, I'm not dead." Scythe's voice reverberated from the flames, as he stepped out of them, unscathed, the flames behind him, making him look more intimidating than he was. "I'm just mad." Scythe punched his fist into his hand, cracking his knuckles as his body grew fur, and his face elongated into a muzzle. "Who's next?"
~The Bay~
"Where is he? An' what was that explosion?" Michiru wondered.
"You seem awfully concerned for someone you literally met five minutes ago." Wendy chuckled.
"He took an arrow for me, of course I'm gonna be worried. He could be bleeding out as we speak." Michiru exclaimed. "I would just feel awful if he died because of me."
"No need to worry." Wendy smiled, pointing behind Michiru. "He's right there."
Michiru turned around to see Kaen coming towards them, a smile on his face, and bandages visible through the hole of his shirt the arrow made.
"Sorry for the wait, none of them were cooperating." Scythe chuckled. 'I really hate that a restraint seal was put on my Celestial Strength and speed. It made the fight that much harder.'
"Oh thank goodness you're alive." Michiru sighed.
"So, what's keeping us from the city?" Scythe asked.
"The weasel over there is only willing to take us if Michiru and I give her every cent we have." Wendy exclaimed pointing to the woman by the boat with dreadlocks and green shades.
"I'm a mink, not a weasel." She exclaimed.
"Same thing." Wendy said.
"We are not the same."
"Hey, don't worry about it, you both can ride on my back." Scythe smiled.
"Wait, you're planning on swimming there, in your condition?" Michiru asked.
"Swim? Ha, no I ain't swimming." Scythe smiled, sprouting a pair of feathery wings from his back. "We're going there with air travel."
Wendy hopped on Scythe's back, but the problem was there wasn't enough room on his back, so he took Michiru in his arms, like he had when jumping off the bus.
"Wait, let's not be rash, how about half the price I was asking?" The mink girl tried to negotiate.
"Sorry, but we're not interested." Scythe smiled, before taking off.
~Anima City Three Hours Later~
"That took a bit more flying than I thought." Scythe exclaimed, landing on the ground, Wendy hopping off, and Michiru standing on her own feet.
"I'm sorry you had to exert yourself like that." Michiru said. "Especially when you're injured like that."
"It's fine. I'm more than happy to help." Scythe smiled.
"So, I wonder where everyone is." Michiru exclaimed.
"If I remember correctly, it's the tenth anniversary of the founding of Anima City today, the festival actually starts in a bit if I'm not mistaken." Wendy said as they reached the city square.
"Hey look up there." Michiru said, pointing upwards.
Scythe and Wendy looked where she was pointing and saw what looked like a silver wolf, made of ethereal energy.
'There he is, Shirou Ogami.' Scythe thought, before they were all caught off guard by a howl, before there were multiple howls and dozens of glowing eyes of people surrounding them. "Looks like we made it just in time for the festival to start." Scythe smiled. "Wendy, what's say we indulge ourselves a bit before we get to work?"
"I don't see why not." Wendy smiled.
The lights around them brightened, and all the Beastmen began to celebrate their national holiday.
"It's a festival." Michiru cheered.
A minute later the large screen above activated, showing a hairless cat, Beastman. The mayor of Anima City, Mayor Rose.
"Anima City was established ten years ago, however, the division between Beastmen and humans, still remains." Mayor Rose exclaimed.
"Got a hole in my side to prove it." Scythe chuckled.
"Never the less, this land has continued to serve as a place where Beastmen can exist in peace." Mayor Rose continued. "So with that said, let's commemorate the last ten years, as well as the next ten years and our future. By celebrating our anniversary."
"They're really Beastmen, all of them." Michiru cheered, before Scythe gripped her cloak and removed it.
"Now you no longer have to hide who you are, Michiru." Wendy smiled.
Over the next couple hours, Scythe, Michiru, and Wendy began enjoying themselves, purchasing snacks and drinks, while they enjoyed the festivities Anima City had to offer. The bumped into a silver furred Beastman Wolf, but he disappeared before Scythe could say anything to him.
"By the way, about what you said earlier Scythe, what do you do for work?" Michiru asked.
"It's a job Wendy and I do together." Scythe smiled.
"Scythe and I are bounty hunters of sorts, we've tracked one of our targets here to Anima City." Wendy explained.
"Oh that's so cool." Michiru said. "So what about you two? Are you dating at all?"
"Dating?" Wendy asked.
"Eh-heh, well it's a little more than that." Scythe said, scratching the back of his head with one hand on his hip.
"More, what do you mean?" Michiru asked.
"Scythe and I… well, we're already married." Wendy chuckled, Michiru's mouth hanging open. "Marvell is my maiden name. I took Scythe's name when we got married a few months ago."
"Wait, how old are you both?" Michiru asked.
"I'll be sixteen in a couple months, Wendy will be fifteen a little while after that." Scythe exclaimed.
"You're high school age, and you're already married?" Michiru asked in shock.
"Yep, and you should really watch where your tail is." Scythe said, drop kicking a monkey with piercings in his ears, away from Michiru, and over the horizon. "He was inches away from pickpocketing you."
"Thanks I really owe you one." Michiru sighed.
Scythe chuckled, before he smelt something in the air.
"Wendy, you smell that?" Scythe asked.
"I do." Wendy exclaimed.
"Stick to Michiru, I'm gonna investigate." Scythe exclaimed.
"Wait, Scythe your side, it's still…"
"Don't worry about it, I'll be fine. I'm just going to investigate, nothing more, I'm not expecting to get into any trouble, and if I do, I'll be careful." Scythe smiled. 'I can't let her know about my healing factor, it would draw too much attention. Her heart is too big for her own good, then again, I'm not one who should talk.'
"Just be safe Scythe." Wendy exclaimed.
"I will. You watch over Michiru." Scythe exclaimed, before heading off.
After Scythe left, Wendy pulled a bottle from her pocket, six inches tall and chugged the contents down with ease. Putting the bottle away, Wendy drowned the bitter taste with her milkshake remembering the risk that came with the formula.
~Flashback~
"Wendy, I need to talk with you for a moment." Rin said, taking Wendy by the arm, and leading her away. "Wendy, do you remember this?" Rin asked, holding up a bottle filled with liquid.
"Formula125, yeah the formula Rose had made for me and you." Wendy said.
"I'm warning you now, I'm not sure what kind of effects it's gonna have on you with the Re-Agent coursing through your body. We won't know the repercussions that will come with mixing them. If you're still going to go through with it, be careful."
"I will, don' worry, I'll be fine." Wendy smiled.
~End Flashback~
"You doing okay Wendy? You drank that weird stuff and blanked out for a sec." Michiru said, shaking her shoulder.
"Hmm? Yeah sorry, it happens sometimes when I take my special vitamin mix. It's kinda bitter, but the benefits will be worth it." Wendy said.
"Oh, I see." Michiru smiled. "So what's Scythe like when he's not hunting?"
"I believe you've experienced that firsthand yourself." Wendy smiled. "He's a big hearted teddy bear, and he's very protective. He's like an alpha wolf protecting his pack when it comes to those he cares about, being in danger."
"So, what species of Beastman are you? I know Scythe is some kind of bird but…"
"Actually it's a bit more complicated than that." Wendy chuckled. "So, why'd you come to Anima City? Won't your friends and family miss you back home?"
"Yeah, they will miss me, but there's one friend, I haven't seen in about a year, and I miss her dearly." Michiru said, sadly. "Her name's Nazuna, and I don't know if she's still alive or dead, but I saw her from a far distance being taken into a van, being kidnaped by some men in black suits."
"I'm sorry." Wendy said. 'If Nazuna and Michiru were friends, then that means they were both given the Re-Agent together.'
"So, in the last year, did you get into an accident or anything?" Wendy asked.
"Why do you ask?" Michiru questioned.
"You've got a small limp in your step, it's hardly noticeable, but I've noticed it for a while, since I myself am a healer, plus I've been spending some time around you for a while." Wendy exclaimed.
"Oh, yeah Nazuna and I both got into an accident about a year and a half ago. I broke my leg, she broke her arm. She was about to get hit by a bus, so I jumped out to help her. It could have been a lot worse, if I hadn't jumped in." Michiru said.
"That's very brave." Wendy smiled. "Hold on, let me see your leg."
Wendy knelt down and examined Michiru's right leg, and pulsing some of her healing magic through it, fixed the problem with the limp.
"There, the limp should be gone." Wendy smiled.
"Wow, that's amazing, what did you do?" Michiru asked.
Before Wendy could answer, there was the sound of an explosion, and metal creaking before the large television that Mayor Rose had broadcasted her message on, began to fall, and the crowd began to run away. Just as Michiru and Wendy were about to run, Michiru caught sight of an old goat, literally, being too slow, and about to get crushed.
"Time to move it old man." Michiru called out, running to him, and pushing along his back and forcing him to go faster.
"They're not gonna make it." Wendy panicked.
"Oh no." Michiru gasped. "It can't end here, it can't."
Michiru closed her eyes as she continued to run, expecting to be crushed along with the old goat she risked her life to save, but the crushing never came as the sound of the screen glass cracking echoed around her as she tripped, while the force of her push, got the goat man out to safety. She looked up, and her eyes widened with shock, as she was looking at a red furred wolf holding up the large screen just like how the statues of Atlas depicted him holding the sky above his head, but the most surprising thing about him, were the white angelic wings upon his back. Looking closer, she recognized the clothes he wore, as he struggled to keep the giant monitor off of her.
"Scythe?" Michiru questioned.
"Michiru, get up and hug yourself around my torso." Scythe ordered.
Without hesitation, Michiru did just that, right before Scythe threw the screen a few feet above him, quickly grabbing Michiru before it crashed down on them both. There was a still silence in the air as the dust settled, the Beastmen gathering around the downed monitor, before someone of the canine race, began to howl, before there was a loud bang, and a spot on the back of the screen began to bulge before it burst open, Scythe giving off a mighty howl of victory, as he held Michiru in his arms, bridal style, showing they both survived.
"Scythe." Wendy smiled running up to him. "You're okay, what about Michiru?" Wendy asked, noticing the Tanuki girl was unconscious.
"She'll be fine, she passed out from the shock." Scythe said, returning to his human form, and setting Michiru down and leaning against the fallen screen.
"Hey you." Scythe looked up and over his shoulder to see the wolf from earlier, looking at him with a questioning look. "Were you the one who ruined the festival?"
"No, I was actually looking for the guy who did." Scythe exclaimed. "He's a wolf, just like you. I'm pretty sure we can track him down if we put our minds to it."
"Thanks but no, I'm fine working on my own." Ogami said, as he began to walk off.
"Shirou Ogami right?" Scythe asked, causing him to stop in his tracks. "Or do you prefer the Silver Wolf?"
"How do you know my name, and who I am?" Ogami asked.
"We're on the same side." Scythe said, flipping his badge to Ogami like it was a coin.
Catching the badge, Ogami looked at it expectantly, before looking back up at Scythe.
"Emiya send you?"
"If you mean my gramps, then yes, Shirou Emiya sent us." Scythe exclaimed. "This is my spouse and partner Wendy."
"Fine, follow me, but the girl stays to take care of any injured."
"I was thinking the same thing." Scythe said. "You okay with that Wendy?" He asked, looking to her.
"I'm fine with it. Go after the ones who ruined the festival." Wendy exclaimed.
Scythe stepped next to Ogami, as they both turned to their animal forms, and began to track the scent of the attacker.
"This way." Ogami said, catching the scent, and running off with Scythe following him. "So you're a winged wolf huh?"
"We both are, me and Wendy." Scythe said.
"How'd Emiya manage to pull that off?" Ogami inquired. "I thought he was human."
"He is, but he had a DNA Re-Agent that turned Wendy and I both into Beastmen." Scythe explained. "It gives us more special abilities than just being able to turn into Beastmen."
"Such as hyper regeneration?" Ogami asked.
"Nope, that's all me." Scythe smiled, as they reached their targets. "Let me show you."
Scythe began to run faster, as he transformed his legs into those of a cheetah's, grabbing the bomb that had been set as a trap, and threw it through the jeep window, before the bomber could get in. The bomb went off, taking out anyone inside, and sending the bomber back, from the blast wave.
"Hello bomb boy." Scythe smiled, as Ogami reached him, blocking the terrorist's only way out. "Let's chat."
~Beastman Co-Op Office: Sometime Later~
"Hmm…" A Beastman with red hair and a red beard said, before tearing a bandage like thing off Michiru's nose. "Yep, you're a Beastman all right."
"What? You can identify it just from that?" Michiru asked.
"Oh yes. If the fabric turns blue it means you're a Beastman, if it's red it means you're a human imposing as a Beastman." He said.
"But, I keep telling you I am a human, I just woke up one day like this." Michiru exclaimed.
"Hmm… do you have anything that could identify you as human?" Wendy asked.
"Oh yeah, I have my student ID. It has my blood type and species written on it in case of situations like this." Michiru exclaimed. Michiru reached into her pockets, then her tail, but couldn't find her wallet. "What the, where'd my wallet go?"
"You think you might have dropped it in all the chaos at the festival?" Wendy asked.
"If she did, then it's as good as gone, and lost forever." Mr. Horner sighed.
"In the meantime, why don't you fill this out if you're gonna be staying here for a while?" Mrs. Horner said, handing them both citizen application sheets.
"My husband and I won't be in the city for long. We're just gonna be here long enough to find and eliminate our targets." Wendy explained.
"That could be a while, it might be best to get citizen ship while you're here just in case it takes months for you to find your bounties." Mr. Horner exclaimed.
"I guess you're right. I'll talk with Scythe about it." Michiru exclaimed.
"I'm back, and I brought a friend." Ogami called out entering the room, with Scythe following, both of them in human form.
"Hey." Scythe smiled.
"Oh, it's the Silver Wolf." Mrs. Horner said, as she and her husband bowed to him.
"I'm not the Silver Wolf." Scythe sighed. "I'm just a winged wolf. An' my fur isn't even silver."
"He makes a good point." Wendy chuckled.
"So, what's the deal with you Tanuki girl?" Ogami asked, looking to the blue haired Tanuki.
"I'm not a Tanuki, I'm a raccoon." Michiru exclaimed.
"No, raccoons have striped tails, you're a Tanuki." Scythe said.
"Oh shut it you. An' what was that transformation you pulled? I thought you were an aerial type Beastman, but you're actually a wolf? What the hell?"
"You'll understand in a couple days." Scythe sighed. "Now I think it's best we all get some sleep, we've had a pretty exhausting day."
"That's true." Wendy agreed.
"We've got a spare bedroom on the roof if you two don't mind sharing with Michiru." Mr. Horner exclaimed.
"I think I'd rather give the married couple their privacy." Michiru exclaimed.
"We have a cot in the closet attached to Shirou's office." Mrs. Horner offered.
"You're more than welcome to join us in the room on the roof Michiru." Wendy said. "Scythe and I might be married, but we're way too young to be doing anything adults do."
"Yeah, I can take the couch."
"I think I'm good on the cot for now. But I might take you up on your offer later." Michiru exclaimed.
"Suit yourself. Offer still stands." Scythe chuckled, before Wendy fell into him, leaning against his chest. "Wendy, you oaky?"
"I'm fine, just really tired." Wendy yawned. 'I guess this is why it's best to take the formula a little while before going to bed.'
"All right, I guess being attacked, and then having to deal with a bomber a few hours later can become pretty exhausting." Scythe chuckled taking Wendy into his arms.
"You were attacked?" Mrs. Horner asked.
"On the way to the city. A bunch of Beastman Hunters, thought it would be fun to attack us." Michiru said before realization hit her. "Scythe wait, the arrow wound in your side, you still need to get it treated. You should have done that the moment we got to the city, not join in on the festival."
Ogami looked at Scythe with a questioning look, and the Celestial Knight replied with a look that told him to remain quiet and not to tell anyone about his hyper regeneration.
"I'll take care of his wound as soon as he puts his wife to bed." Shirou exclaimed.
"I'll sew up the hole in your shirt." Mrs. Horner exclaimed.
"Thanks." Scythe said.
Shirou went to grab the first aid kit, and followed Scythe as he carried Wendy bridal style, while following Mr. Horner to the guest room up on the roof, while Mrs. Horner lead Michiru to the closet with the cot in it.
"Here it is, it's not much, but it should be enough for you for now." Mr. Horner exclaimed. "We've done our best to maintain it for if it's needed."
"Thank you." Scythe said, taking Wendy to the bed, and lying her in the bed as she slept.
"I'll take your shirt to my wife." Mr. Horner exclaimed.
"Oh, right." Scythe said, removing his shirt, handing it to Mr. Horner.
Taking the shirt, Mr. Horner couldn't help but stare, as his eyes were locked on the scars on Scythe's body.
"You've been through a lot, haven't you young man?" Mr. Horner exclaimed.
"You could say that." Scythe sighed. "I'd rather not talk about it right now, if you don't mind."
"Of course, my apologies, I didn't mean to be rude. Shirou once you finish tending to his wound, I'd recommend you head for bed yourself." Mr. Horner exclaimed.
"Right." Ogami exclaimed.
After he left, Ogami set the first aid kit on the desk, and sat on the couch across from the bed, as Scythe tore the bandages from his waist, showing there was no wound.
"So what is it Emiya is wanting this time?" Ogami asked. "I'm not leaving my universe, my world, and risking the lives of the Beastmen for a mission."
"Well that's good, because you won't have to." Scythe said, tucking Wendy under the covers. "The job will be taking place in Anima City."
"Explain."
"A being, known as Velhallen Beo and his accomplice Ginger Morgue, have come to this world, running from me, as I was able to inflict some serious damage to Beo. He's come to this world to lick his wounds, and turn the souls of all its inhabitants into a buffet for Ginger Morgue."
"He wouldn't…"
"He would, and he will. He's done it before, and he'll do it again." Scythe growled, clenching his fists. "I failed to destroy him in the world we faced off in, but I won't fail this time."
"What do you need?" Ogami asked.
"A meeting with Mayor Rose." Scythe exclaimed.
"Done." Ogami exclaimed. "She knows I'm the Silver Wolf, and that I'm a Celestial Knight. So she'll accept your help as well."
"Then we should get some rest. We're gonna have a big day tomorrow." Scythe said.
"Sweet dreams kid." Shirou said, grabbing the first aid kit, and leaving.
~Sylvasta Building~
"Are you sure you grabbed the completed formula?" Ginger questioned Beo as she prepared to enter the stasis pod.
"Yes I'm sure. Now relax, you'll be able to defend yourself with the power of this formula as soon as you take all the doses." Beo exclaimed, his body covered in bruises that were slowly healing.
"You better be right, I am not wanting to become a big chested bimbo like that Drake girl." Ginger exclaimed, getting in the stasis tube.
"I assure you, this won't do that to you." Beo exclaimed.
The stasis tube began to fill with fluids as Ginger put the breathing mask on, allowing the sedative to take effect before the first injection pierced her neck, filling her with the finished formula.
"Sleep now, my darling, for when you wake up, you'll be a whole new being." Beo smiled, as he added an I.V bag filled with red liquid to the vitamin pack connected to the I.V tube on her arm.
Bing-Bing-Bing-Bing…
"Yes what is it, I was just about to start my maniacal laugh?" Beo said, answering the communications signal.
"I hope you haven't forgotten our arrangement Beo. I help you and your beloved recover and strengthen by providing you a place in the Sylvasta Industries Basement in Anima City, and you help me with my plans."
"Of course I haven't forgotten." Beo exclaimed. "Send me the research notes you have on your current stage of the project, and I'll do my part to improve it."
"You'd better." The caller said, before hanging up.
"Damn three headed mutt." Beo exclaimed. "He's completely ruined the mood for me to do my Maniacal Laugh. Oh well, might as well still do it." Beo said before taking in a deep breath. "Hahahahahahahahahahahaha."
~Next Morning~
"All right, we have our day planned out for all of us." Scythe said, talking with Ogami and Michiru in the office, with Wendy bringing in some tea Mrs. Horner made for them.
"Yeah, but given last night's exploits, people are gonna recognize you, and worship you like a God." Ogami exclaimed.
"Well that shouldn't stop us." Wendy said. "We're technically royalty where we're from, so we're kinda used to it, even if it is very annoying."
"Seriously? Man, just who are you people?" Michiru asked.
"Not anyone you need to know." Ogami exclaimed.
"I'll stick with Michiru and have both mine and Scythe's citizenships filled out." Wendy exclaimed.
"That leave Scythe with me. I have a meeting with the mayor today, so this is actually fortuitous timing." Ogami stated drinking his tea.
"One thing, I still need to find my wallet." Michiru exclaimed.
"No worries, we can spot you for the citizenship fee." Scythe smiled.
"Thanks, but that's not the problem." Michiru stated. "My wallet has a photo of me and my best friend, in the hospital together. It's very important to me, and it's the only photograph I have of her."
"I see." Scythe exclaimed. "Last night on the way here I heard talk of someone who comes into possession of all lost or stolen things in Anima City. She goes by the alias, Grand Grandma. After you fill out your registry, try going to look for her, she might have your wallet. She's supposed to be in a place called Rabbit Town."
"All right." Michiru exclaimed. "Thank you so much for your help."
~City Hall~
"So this is where we're to get our registry filed?" Michiru asked.
"Yep, looks that way." Wendy said, adjusting her shirt.
"You've been readjusting your clothes all morning, are you all right?" Scythe questioned, looking to Wendy.
"Huh?" Wendy asked. "I'm fine, my clothe are just feeling a bit tight is all."
"Scythe and I are going to the mayor's office for a meeting, we'll…"
"Move it, I was next in line." A gruff voice said, pushing to the front of the line.
"Hey, I was next to go."
"Oh yeah?" The first guy questioned, changing into his animal form, a bull dog.
"Yeah, you wanna fight about it?" The second guy questioned, turning into a bull.
"Hey, aren't there any rules against something like this?" Michiru questioned.
"There are." Ogami said, as Scythe went to break up the fight.
As the two were struggling to push back against one another, Scythe grabbed each of them by the ankle, and threw them into the air, before slamming them on the ground, effortlessly.
"The strongest survive." Ogami exclaimed. "It's the only rule."
"All right, everybody's gonna wait in line like they're supposed to, no questions asked." Scythe directed.
After that Michiru and Wendy waited in line, Wendy holding two forms, while Michiru held only one.
~Mayor's office~
"Ogami, welcome. An' thank you for bringing your friend." Mayor Rose exclaimed. "We greatly appreciate you bringing in the bombing perpetrators, and putting an end to their threat. Turns out they were terrorists hired by the Human Anti-Beastman Organization."
"They would target their fellow Beastmen to make money. It's really quite tragic. The two in the ICU won't be able to talk for a while, as they are comatose, and the one that is still awake, seems to have been severely traumatized, to the point where he's gone completely insane."
Ogami turned to look at Scythe, who just turned his head away, and whistled innocently.
"They bring shame to every Beastman on this planet." Ogami exclaimed.
"On that note, before you leave, I have another request to make of you." Mayor Rose exclaimed.
"First let me introduce my compatriot." Ogami exclaimed. "This is Scythe Strauss, he's a Celestial Knight, and he's also with winged wolf that I'm sure is all talk all over the internet at this point." Ogami exclaimed.
"A pleasure to make your acquaintance Mayor Rose." Scythe said, bowing to her.
"It is an honor for your visit. What brings you to our fine world Mr. Strauss?" Mayor Rose asked.
"Currently, my wife and I are on a dual job mission. We're hunting down a couple of our targets, and we've tracked them to Anima City. Unfortunately, we don't know where they might be hiding." Scythe explained.
"I see. What is the other part of your current job?" Mayor Rose asked.
"My wife and I are to guard Michiru Kagemori." Scythe explained. "An' if we come across Nazuna Hiwatashi, we're to keep guard on her to."
"Ah yes, the girl who used to be human, but was turned into a Beastman." Mayor Rose exclaimed.
"Wait, you already know about that?" Scythe asked.
"My dear boy, there's nothing in this City that takes place, and I don't know about it." Mayor Rose chuckled. "Are you to guard her because of this?"
"Pretty much. According to my grandfather, Shirou Emiya, she's to play a special role in the near future." Scythe exclaimed.
"I'll see what I can do about finding your two targets. I'll have a sketch artist from the police station take your description, and put out an APB for them." Mayor Rose said. "I'll also have the police keep an eye out for Nazuna Hiwatashi."
"Thank you." Scythe exclaimed.
"Now before you both go, I'd like to discuss that favor with you." Mayor Rose smiled, knowingly.
~Rabbit Town~
"Nothing about this place says Rabbit." Michiru said, Wendy standing beside her.
"Yeah, let's hope Scythe's intel was correct." Wendy exclaimed, gripping her wrist.
Taking a single step into the town, Wendy and Michiru instantly found themselves being surrounded by a group of women.
"What do you two think you're doing?" One of them asked.
"Um, hi we're looking for someone who goes by the alias Grand Grandma, we think she might have something that belongs to my friend here." Wendy explained. "We mean no trouble, we just came to see if she had seen it or is in possession of it."
"If you didn't want trouble, then why is your friend already changed, looking for a fight?" A woman in a black top with blonde hair, questioned.
"Forgive her for that, she… doesn't really know how to revert back to human form." Wendy exclaimed, to which Michiru nodded profusely.
"Are you serious?" She questioned. "Fine, follow us."
A short while later, Wendy and Michiru found themselves standing across from a rather hefty looking rabbit woman, smoking a pipe.
"So, I hear you're here because you think I might have something of yours?" She asked.
"Uh, yes Grand Grandma. I was hoping you might have received an orange wallet with a multiple square design on the sides of it." Michiru exclaimed.
"Hmm, I might have come across something like that." Grand Grandma said, holding up the wallet Michiru was talking about.
"That's it." Michiru exclaimed.
"What's it worth to you?" Grand Grandma asked, before there was a gust of wind, and she found the wallet missing from her hand.
"Tsk-tsk. Trying to extort someone to pay for something that already belongs to them? How shameful." Wendy exclaimed, showing she was holding the wallet now, before putting it in Michiru's hands. "Tell you what though, we can do a favor for you as a thank you for finding her wallet, and so long as it's reasonable, we'll be more than happy to do it."
"Hmph, you got guts on you kid, I like that. Wanna join my crew?" Grand Grandma asked.
"Sorry, but my husband doesn't really like the thought of me being involved with anything illegal." Wendy exclaimed.
"You are a sly one." Grand Grandma smiled. "All right. Tell me, do either of you know how to read or write?"
"Of course, I was a student before I was forced to come to Anima City." Michiru exclaimed.
"Yeah, I know how to read and write." Wendy said.
"Excellent." Grand Grandma exclaimed.
A bit later, Wendy and Michiru found themselves in what looked like a play room with a chalkboard, and little over a dozen children who didn't look old enough to even know what writing was.
"I'd like for you two to teach these children how to read and write." Grand Grandma exclaimed.
"I had no idea, that there were kids here." Michiru exclaimed.
"The fact of the matter is, that this rabbit town is where all those betrayed by men, eventually end up." Grand Grandma exclaimed. "For female Beastmen, with no other clear path to take in life, they are forced to choose one that is more or less a dead end."
"Prostitution." Wendy said.
"The pain and struggles of a Beastman life, is all these children have ever known." Grand Grandma finished.
"If they could at least read and write, they would certainly have a brighter future in this world." The lion woman exclaimed.
"I understand, we will do it." Michiru exclaimed.
A short while later, Wendy and Michiru were up front by the chalk board, with the children gathered in front of them in their human forms, and their names written on the board.
"Now, what's this say?" Michiru asked tapping the chalk board with a piece of chalk.
The kids were quiet as they didn't know what the answer was.
"C'mon now, give it a try." Wendy encouraged.
"Can anyone here read it?"
There was one kid who raised his hand.
"Yes you?"
"It's poop." He said. "And the one under it is wind."
Wendy giggled at how Michiru's name was depicted as poop.
"Close but not quite. You got the first letter of the second one right. These say Michiru, and Wendy." She explained. "I'm Michiru."
"An' I'm Wendy. We're gonna be teaching you how to read and write." Wendy smiled.
"Now is anyone here able to write out their own name?" Michiru asked, before kneeling down in front of one of the little boys. "Why don't you tell me your name?"
"It's Youta."
"So you're Youta." Michiru smiled, as Wendy wrote it down on the chalk board. "This says Youta. Yo-u-ta. Wanna give it a try?" Michiru asked, holding the piece of chalk to him.
"Just copy what you see." Wendy gave a little encouragement.
Youta looked at the piece of chalk he took, before he went up and wrote his own name. His hand writing would need a bit of work, but that's to be expected from a child who didn't know how to read or write.
"Right, that's Youta, you've written your name." Michiru smiled, causing Youta to smile.
"Is there anyone else who wants to give it a try?" Wendy asked. They all raised their hands.
~Outside of Rabbit Town~
"Let me out of these restraints Ogami." Scythe growled, as he was being dragged by Ogami to Rabbit Town.
"Not until you calm down. You need to have a level head for this job. You can't just go running in their guns blazing." Ogami explained.
Scythe growled and sighed.
"If she is guilty, I'm gonna kill her."
"We might be Celestial Knights, but we do have to follow the laws of where our jobs take us you know." Ogami exclaimed, dragging him into an alleyway and jumping up the sides of the buildings, with minimal effort of dragging Scythe with him. Once on the roof, he undid the restraints, and Scythe was free to stretch out and pop his joints. "Besides, Michiru and Wendy might be involved at this point."
"Fair enough." Scythe sighed, joining Ogami in spying on the building, both of them in their Beastman forms, noticing a car pull up, with several well-dressed mafia looking men stepping out, with a big, black suited man following suit. "Hey, nine o'clock."
Ogami looked where Scythe was looking and he glared as he squinted his eyes.
"I should have known." He said as the well-dressed men enter Grand Grandma's establishment.
"Who are they?"
"They're part of the gang, a Mafia group here in Anima City run by a Beluga Beastman. That big guy we saw, he's Flip, the Mafia Boss in charge of the Gang." Ogami said. "Even if we've spotted him, we can't act out on it, just seeing him, is circumstantial evidence at best. But we've got another problem."
"Let me guess, Wendy and Michiru?" Scythe asked.
"Yeah, I noticed their scents within the building. They appear to be with a group of children." Ogami exclaimed.
"That's still only circumstantial at best, we need to catch them in the act." Scythe growled, before an idea popped into his head. "Jackie." There was a flash of light, and Jack was sitting beside Scythe with a bright smile on her face, looking up happily at Scythe.
"Hi daddy. Do I get a new toy today?"
"Maybe later, but right now, I need you to infiltrate that building and find mommy, act as one of the children in that playroom to blend in, and keep an eye on her. Don't act until I do okay?" Scythe explained.
"Okay daddy." Jack smiled, before disappearing.
"Daddy?" Ogami asked raising a brow.
"Jack's a wraith, whose wish was to have loving parents. It's a long story, but because Wendy and I far surpass her own power, she's taken to calling us her parents. We've gotten used to it, it's been going on for so long it'd be weird to tell her to stop." Scythe explained.
"An' you think she'll be able to protect them?" Ogami asked.
"Tell me something Ogami." Scythe smiled. "Have you ever heard of the legends of Jack the Ripper?"
~Play/Classroom~
"First you've got to memorize all the hiragana characters, an' then… hey are you listening to me?" Michiru asked, giving the lesson while Wendy was helping others with practicing writing their names. One kid wasn't even listening, he was just busy drawing and coloring the silver wolf. "Uh, wow, is that a wolf?"
"No it's not, it's the Silver Wolf." He said.
"What's the Silver Wolf?" Michiru asked.
"The Silver Wolf is the legendary protector of Beastmen everywhere. The people of Anima City, and Beastmen all over the world, worship him like a deity." Wendy explained.
"Yeah Michiru, the Silver Wolf is our protector. I heard he even appeared last night at the Festival saving someone from being crushed by the falling television." Youta exclaimed.
"Oh no, that wasn't the Silver Wolf." Wendy laughed patting his head.
"How do you know?" Youta asked.
"Because Michiru and I were there last night. It was Michiru who was saved from being crushed, and it wasn't the Silver Wolf, it was my husband who saved her." Wendy exclaimed.
"You're married?" One of the other kids asked.
"I am. My husband is currently out on patrol right now. He's a bounty hunter, and he's looking for some of our targets." Wendy exclaimed. "Besides, my husband's fur is red not silver, so there's no way he's the Silver Wolf. He's just a winged wolf, nothing more."
"Wow, that's so cool." Youta smiled. "He's gotta be just as cool as the Silver Wolf."
~Grand Grandma Meeting Room~
"All right Kusakabe, what are you doing here?" The lion woman, in human form, asked a blue suited individual with brown hair with a tan streak on the right side.
"I'm here for business obviously. Why else would anybody come to this hellhole?" Kusakabe questioned.
"Business huh? I'm sure you're here to extort more money."
"I already told you that we don't have the money for you right now." Grand Grandma exclaimed.
"No money? That's not gonna cut it. If you ain't got it, then you better find a way to get it. Who should you girlies be thanking for letting you operate under the gang? Give that a little thought would ya?"
"What was that?"
"You're asking for it." Kusakabe said, as he and the lioness were in the Beastman forms, his being a hyena. The two of them got in each other's faces, until a deep gravelly voice intervened.
"Cool your head Kusakabe."
"B-Boss…" Kusakabe exclaimed as Flip came marching into the room.
"I have no intention of fighting with women. This will all be resolved, once you pay what you owe." Flip exclaimed.
"It's not very often that we get a visit from you personally Flip. Why now?" Grand Grandma asked.
"Well naturally, I have to pay my respects to the Grand Grandma from time to time." Flip exclaimed.
"No need to be facetious. I can't pay, what I can't pay, your presence doesn't change that." Grand Grandma exclaimed.
"Is that really true? Haven't you gotten some new goods in recently?" Flip asked to which caught Grand Grandma by surprise. "Sell that off, and you'll have your money."
"How'd you know that?" Grand Grandma asked.
"Did you think you could hide it? Well the officials have started to take notice." Flip exclaimed.
"What did you just say?"
"Leave it to a woman, and this happens. They're way too sloppy." Flip stated, turning to leave. "If you won't sell, before it's too late, you won't make a cent."
"So, get it through your heads. It's thanks to us that you can even exist." Kusakabe exclaimed as Flip walked out, none of them noticing the two wolves spying on them.
~The Harbor that Night~
"What is going on?" Michiru questioned, as she, Wendy, and all the kids were in a barred crate. "What are you planning on doing with us?"
"I just thought I'd have you all take a little trip together." Grand Grandma exclaimed.
"I get it, you plan to sell us off don't you?" Michiru inquired.
"I could have gotten a higher price for them if they had learned to read and write a little bit." Grand Grandma stated. "Unfortunately, it turned into a bit of a rush order."
"So that's what you were doing, with all these children, who didn't even share your scent." Wendy exclaimed clutching the bars tightly, causing a creaking sound to echo. "You're despicable you know that? Treating innocent children just like merchandise…" Wendy reared back her fist before throwing a punch into the bars as she took on her Beastman form.
The lioness and Grand Grandma were forced to duck down as Wendy's punch had forced the entire front of the crate to fly off, into steel cargo crates, further back. The two looked up to see a sky blue furred winged wolf, stepping out of the crate with her wings spread, defensively in front of Michiru and the children.
"It's people like you, who are the reason why my husband has suffered."
Without thinking the lioness leapt up at Wendy, taking on her beast form, prepared to pounce and pin her down, but Wendy was quick to maneuver away and dodge the attack, before she stopped spinning and slammed her elbow into the nape of the lioness's neck.
"You are fierce today honey."
Wendy and Grand Grandma looked up to see Scythe standing atop the crane machine with the driver tied up and by his side, dangling from the rafters and gears. Scythe was in his Beastman form, which had all the children and Michiru, in awe when they saw him. This was Michiru's first time seeing Scythe's Beastman form, as she was unconscious last time, he was in it, and he impressed her greatly.
"Jackie, it's time to act."
"Right daddy." The kids parted as Jack removed her disguise and jumped out from the crowd. "What should I do first?"
"Guard Michiru and the children." Scythe said cutting the cables to the crate, to make sure it was immovable. "Mommy and Daddy will handle the bad people."
"Yes daddy." Jack smiled.
Scythe jumped from the cab of the crane machine, and landed in front of Grand Grandma, restraining her with a sector of the cable.
"Get your hands off her." The lioness shouted, lunging at him, before she was interrupted by a funnel of air hitting her, and knocking her back.
"Hey kitty cat." Wendy exclaimed, straightening herself after her roar attack. "Your fight's with me, not my husband."
"Fine, I'll cut you to ribbons first bitch." She shouted lunging at Wendy.
The lioness's claws stopped short as Wendy ran for her, propelling herself with air blowing from the bottom of her feet, and slammed her elbow into the lioness's stomach, rendering her immobile.
"Nice work." Scythe said tossing the final unconscious girl on a piled up heap of them. "But you're gonna have to work a lot harder if you're wanting to catch up to me."
"Oh it's on. Next time we're up against the odds, we're totally seeing who can defeat the most opponents first." Wendy smirked.
"Winner chooses something the loser has to do?" Scythe asked.
"Sounds fair." Wendy chuckled.
"I hate to break up this wager, but who the hell are you?" Grand Grandma questioned. "No normal Beastman could have beaten all my top girls in mere seconds. Are you the Silver Wolf?"
"Me? I'm not the Silver Wolf." Scythe smirked squatting down to look her directly in the eye. "Call me the Crimzon-K9."
~The Following Day~
"Wendy, have you seen Michiru anywhere?" Scythe asked, coming into the rooftop room with a towel around his neck, as he just finished his morning workout.
"No, why?" Wendy inquired.
"I promised her I'd train her in controlling her abilities." Scythe exclaimed.
"I think I saw Ogami drag her away to his office a bit earlier." Wendy exclaimed.
"Thanks." Scythe said, leaving and heading for Ogami's office. When he got there, he found an unexpected visitor there. "Oh, Mayor Rose, this is unexpected. What brings you by?"
"I just wanted to come by and say my thanks for…"
"HEY GET ME OUT OF HERE OGAMI IS KEEPING ME HOSTAGE IN HIS CLOSET." Michiru's voice echoed from the side.
Scythe turned to look at where the voice came from, and deadpanned when he saw that all of Ogami's furniture, desk included, was piled up against where the closet door should be.
"Ogami, please tell me you didn't." Scythe groaned.
"I have no clue what you're talking about." Ogami exclaimed.
"Fine play dumb, but I'm getting Michiru out of there." Scythe said, removing the furniture, and opening the door. "Michiru, you doing okay?"
"Ogami freaking locked me in his closet, what do you think?" Michiru questioned.
"No need to get hostile." Scythe exclaimed.
"Ah, so this is Michiru Kagemori. I've heard so much about you." Mayor Rose exclaimed.
"Wait you're…"
"Michiru, I'd like you to meet Mayor Rose. She already knows about the human to Beastman transformation thing, so she doesn't need to be kept in the dark about it." Scythe exclaimed. "As for you Ogami, just what the hell were you thinking?"
"It was for her own protection. You're lucky I didn't do the same thing to you and Wendy. Think of the panic it could cause." Ogami exclaimed.
"What does he mean by that Scythe?" Mayor Rose asked.
"Wendy and I are just like Michiru, we were human, but were turned into Beastmen. It was through a Re-Agent with Beastmen Cell Structures, meant to help stabilize Beastmen DNA when they become ill or to help replenish blood if injured." Scythe explained. "I think that might have been what happened to Michiru, and her friend Nazuna. A couple bags of the Beastman Re-Agent were accidentally shipped with blood bags, and found their way to Michiru and Nazuna sometime when they were both in the hospital." Scythe said. 'Can't let them know that's actually what happened. Otherwise Michiru would question how I know it.'
"So how'd you end up with it?" Ogami asked.
"Hmm? Oh, if you're thinking mine and Wendy's transformations were an accident, you're mistaken there. Wendy and I knew what we were getting ourselves into when we injected the I.V into our veins." Scythe said.
"But how did you acquire the Re-Agents?" Mayor Rose clarified.
"Oh well… my grandpa confiscated an entire icebox full of them from some drug dealers during a job he took a few days ago, and knowing I would grab a couple bags, asked me to take them to the contraband vault, where all the confiscated evidence is stored and locked up, never to see freedom again." Scythe explained.
"So you stole evidence from an evidence vault." Michiru exclaimed.
"On my grandfather's whim apparently. He knew all about it the entire time, even knew Wendy wouldn't let me go through the I.V infusion alone." Scythe stated. "So I guess you could say he planned for me to take them."
"Remind me what you do for a living exactly? Bounty Hunting was it?" Michiru questioned.
"Scythe, does she not know about what you really are?" Mayor Rose asked.
"What are you talking about?" Michiru questioned.
"She has a right to know Scythe. She is one of your targets to guard." Ogami exclaimed.
"What are you three talking about?" Michiru asked.
"All right. Michiru, there's something you should know. Wendy and I aren't really Bounty Hunters, hell we're not even from anywhere around here." Scythe started. "Wendy and I are what's known as Celestial Knights, beings capable of traveling through space-time, to other worlds, dimensions. We're like the Bounty Hunters of the Multiverse. An' right now, Wendy and I are on a job that involves two parts, hunting down some very bad and powerful beings who will destroy the world if they choose to, and guarding the only other two girls, who had the same Beastman Re-Agent infused with them. What I said earlier wasn't just speculation, it was hard fact supported by evidence that was acquired through research."
"Where's Nazuna now?" Michiru asked sounding concerned.
"Currently, she's gathering followers as a false Silver Wolf, rallying Beastmen under a single banner." Scythe exclaimed. "Her current whereabouts however, are a complete mystery to me. Which is why I have a specialist in hunting and tracking, looking for her."
"What is she doing, thinking she can get away with falsely leading a group of Beastmen like that?" Ogami asked.
"She's accepted it as her only way to become an idol since becoming a Beastman." Scythe exclaimed. "Which is why when she's found, I'll be revealing the truth."
"So, I'm guessing the guy clinging to the ceiling is your hunter?" Ogami asked.
Mayor Rose and Michiru looked up to see a green hooded cloak wearing man clinging to the ceiling, on his hands and feet, crouched like an upside down frog. Neither of them had even noticed him, not by smell, not by sound, and certainly not from the change in air pressure from the added person in the room. It's as if he didn't even exist to them.
"Robin, what have you learned?" Scythe asked, not even looking up before Robin Hood dropped down behind him, remaining crouched.
"She's located near a Beastman settlement on the mainland. These are the coordinates for the location, but there's a small army of Anti-Beastmen Extremists marching for it as we speak." Robin Hood said, handing him a slip of paper, which was a small map of where the settlement was on the mainland.
"I'll be going there after I finish showering up, and have my breakfast." Scythe exclaimed as he started walking off, before he stopped when Michiru grabbed his wrist.
"What are you going to do to her when you find her?" The Tanuki girl questioned.
"I'm going to take her to the Celestial Armory to get her some mental help. It's clear she's not right in the head if she's willing to risk the sanity of dozens of Beastmen." Scythe exclaimed.
"Will she be able to leave?" Michiru asked.
"Once she's cleared, and has a clean bill of health, yes." Scythe stated. "We're going to have to reschedule your training Michiru, either that or ask Wendy to train you."
"All right." Michiru exclaimed, letting go of his wrist.
"Robin Hood, what of the snake?" Scythe questioned.
"Boris has been doing just as we speculated my Lord. He's been saying these little things to Nazuna, convincing her that what she's doing is right, and he's been creeping around her, like a yandere stalker. I suspect she fails to notice because of one particular thing." Robin exclaimed.
"An' that is?"
"He rescued Nazuna from… a lab that was treating her like a science experiment. It's obvious she fails to notice his yandere tendencies because she's not willing to look past his efforts that saved her." Robin exclaimed. "I say this with reluctance as I know how you feel about people being forcefully used in experiments against their wills my Lord."
"Tell Jackie, to grab Boris, and that will be her new toy I promised her for completing her work yesterday. But be sure she knows to grab him, when no one else is around to catch her in the act." Scythe exclaimed, exhaling an agitated breath. "An' send Berserker on a rampage through the labs that experimented on Nazuna."
"Of course my Lord." Robin Hood exclaimed, before disappearing.
"Whoa, he just vanished in a burst of light. Was he a ghost?" Michiru asked, a little freaked out.
"Sort of. He's actually a heroic spirit, summoned from the past, he and several others are in the service of the Celestial Knights." Scythe exclaimed, scratching the back of his head. "An' to be honest, the only reason why he calls me by the title you heard, is because my old man is the king of dragons in the world I'm from, so I technically am a prince."
"What exactly is that wraith gonna do with Boris?" Ogami asked.
"Well… you know how she's Jack the Ripper right? Well, I sometimes allow her to collect irredeemable souls, whether they be human, yokai, Beastman, or even alien, I let her nab them, and take them to her playroom, which is basically just a medieval torture chamber, equipped with all sorts of torture devices." Scythe explained. "The people she takes to her, playroom, are nothing but toys to her, and I honestly have no objections to it, so long as she doesn't take any innocent people who don't deserve her playtime."
"That's… creepy." Michiru exclaimed.
"You get used to it, the longer you're around her." Scythe exclaimed.
~Sylvasta Underground Basement~
It was dark in the underground basement of the Sylvasta Medical Center. The only source of light, being the luminescent cryo-stasis fluid shining from the tank Ginger was suspended in, her body already starting to look different. The silence of the dark room was disturbed by the sound of someone playing the song, Summoning Satan, on the pipe organ.
Deep in the darkest corner of the room, Velhallen Beo was playing the pipe organ, playing each key perfectly, to the right tune, to the right rhythm, and to the right notes played at exactly the right moments, as if a master organist was playing.
After the song ended, Velhallen Beo closed the lid the keyboard musical instrument, and turned to look at Ginger, and sighed softly as he got up, walking towards her cryo stasis tank, as he was not dressed in his usual armor, but rather a three piece suit, with a rose in his lapel.
"Ah my sweet darling. I hope you were able to feel the love I put into playing our song for you." Beo smiled. "Grow stronger, and gain more power as your grow. For the next time we face off against the Celestial Knights, we shall crush them beneath the heels of our boots."
Beo disappeared into the darkness his wicked grin and his glowing eyes, remaining illuminated, as his wicked laughter echoed through the room.
~Wendy and Michiru~
"Hey Wendy, can I ask you something?" Michiru asked, sitting beside the bluenet as they were both taking a break from combat training. Michiru was currently, wearing a sports bra, with her normal shorts, and a pair of open heeled compression foot sleeves, and MMA training gloves on her hands.
"What's up?" Wendy inquired, using a towel to wipe the sweat off her brow.
"Earlier, Robin Hood mentioned something about Scythe hating people being forcefully used in experiments against their wills. I mean, I get it, that'd make anyone mad, but he passed an order through Robin to someone named Berserker, to rampage and destroy the labs Nazuna was rescued from. Do you know why he might feel that way?" Michiru asked.
"I suppose you were gonna find out sooner or later about his past." Wendy sighed. "Scythe and his twin sister Miia, both happen to be the only surviving citizens of the village they were raised in. When he was five, he found someone badly hurt, and he helped him. That man was a front, for an invasion that took place a week later. All the adults were killed, and the children were sold into slavery for a group known as Grimoire Heart, and one by one, all the children died in the experiments, a man named Hades put them through. By some miracle, Scythe and Miia were the only ones to survive, but their bodies shut down in near death states, so they were left for dead in the middle of a field, when in actuality, their bodies were just in a sort of hibernation state, to fully assimilate the power the experiments gave them. From there, they swore revenge on the man who led the invasion to their village, not just for themselves, but to prevent it from happening to other villages as well."
"Sounds like a comic book hero's backstory." Michiru sighed.
"Now you know why he's so serious all the time, and why he's so protective of children, and hates hearing about illegal experiments being done to unwilling participants." Wendy exclaimed.
"I mean, can you blame the guy?"
Unbeknownst to them, Ogami was on the platform above their seats, having heard all of Scythe's backstory, and couldn't help but to relate to him, now that he knew of his past.
'Guess the kid and I are more alike than I first assumed.' Ogami thought.
~Order of the Silver Wolf Main Camp~
"Rejoice my brethren, for our Goddess praises us with her glory and divine presence." A tall, blonde haired man, wearing a mask, called out as he stood on a podium before dozens of Beastmen, adorned in green robes with the hoods resembling wolf ears, and kept together by silver wolf chain pendants. "Now give thanks, as our Goddess, greets us for the day. I give you, our Goddess, the Silver Wolf; Déesse Louve."
Boris stepped aside, clutching the false bible in one hand, as a figure wearing a white cloak, stepped forward, acting with a holy air to her.
"Thank you my people, now let us give thanks to this wonderful day, as we celebrate another day of survival." Nazuna exclaimed.
"Though you're not gonna be surviving here for much longer." A voice echoed out from the trees surrounding them.
Nazuna and Boris looked around, trying to figure out where that voice came from, not noticing the figure standing behind them until he spoke again.
"Just so you're aware."
Nazuna and Boris quickly turned around to see Scythe standing there, dressed in his Celestial Knight uniform, and a cheeky smile on his face.
"Who are you? Did you come here to threaten us?" Nazuna questioned, as Boris put an arm out to protect her.
"Threaten you? No, warn you however, that's a different story." Scythe exclaimed. "About three miles to the west of here, there's a small army of Anti-Beastmen extremists, heading this way to hunt down and kill all Beastmen present and accounted for here, and that's including the children."
"An' why should we trust the word of a human?" Boris asked.
"Because…" Scythe said, before entering his Beastman form. "I'm a Beastman just like you. Now I can have the entire army eradicated just like that." Scythe said, emphasizing with a snap of his fingers. "But it won't come for free. I expect something in return."
"I'll do anything you request, of me." Nazuna exclaimed. "So long as you protect these innocent people."
"Do I have your word, on your family's honor that you'll do whatever I say?" Scythe asked.
"Yes, you have my word, on my family's name and honor that I will do whatever you request of me, in exchange for eliminating the army heading for us." Nazuna exclaimed.
"I was hoping you'd say that." Scythe smiled stepping up to her, only to stop as Boris put a hand on his chest.
"That's close enough." Boris exclaimed.
"Step aside Boris the Creeper." Scythe sighed, raising his right arm and backhanding Boris in the ribs, sending him flying off the podium and into his tent, causing it to crumble, while also destroying his belongings. Standing in front of Nazuna, and leaning closer, so his mouth was right beside her ear. "I want you to confess to everyone, here and now, that you're nothing but a fake. You and I both know you're not the Silver Wolf, you're just someone who claimed to be the Silver Wolf, to make them feel safe, to give them something strong and hopeful to look up to. I do not however, want you to mention anything about how you're a human, who was somehow turned into a Beastman. Just revert to your actual Beastman form." He whispered to her.
Nazuna's eyes shrank when he revealed he knew her secret. But they returned to normal, when she thought of something.
"There's just one problem with your request." Nazuna responded, before stepping back, and dropping her robes. Nazuna's body began to glow before she began to grow in size, and had turned into a fifteen foot tall wolf, with pink flaming fur, and a star on her forehead and chest.
"Impressive, but that's still not enough to get me to change my mind on my request, as…" Scythe stopped talking for a second, to crack his neck. "You're not the only one capable of doing that."
Scythe's body began to glow, as it increased in size, and continued to, before a large paw slammed down on the podium. Scythe had turned into a giant red flaming furred winged wolf, with a nova star on his forehead, and chest, standing twice as tall as Nazuna.
"Now confess." Scythe growled, his voice deeper, and gravellier as he starred down at Nazuna, who curled up on her legs, like a wolf submitting to its Alpha under their gaze. "What is more important to you? The lives of these people, or your own selfish ideals? CONFESS."
"As you wish." Nazuna replied before reverting back to her wolf form, and dawning her cloak once more, turning to the Beastmen of the gathered in front of the podium, obviously shocked at what they had just witnessed. "Good Beastmen of the Order of the Silver Wolf, there is something I must say to you all, and I pray to the Silver Wolf…" Nazuna paused to look up at Scythe for a second, before turning back to the crowd. "That you may find it in your hearts to forgive me." Nazuna took in a deep breath. "I am not the Silver Wolf."
The crowd began to murmur, and Boris, who had picked himself up from his ruined tent, starred horrified at her sudden confession.
'No, no-no-no-no-no-no-no. This is too soon, her confession to not being the Silver Wolf is still a month away, she's ruining everything that's been planned. How can she be mine, if she's disposed of by the boss?' Boris thought.
"In truth, all I wanted, was to give you all hope, and a sense of security, that kept you calm and at peace of mind. I did not mean for any of you to get hurt, I only wanted to make sure, you all had something that drove you, to keep on living. An' so, I claimed to be the Silver Wolf, even though…" Nazuna stopped before her body glowed and she reverted to a fox. "I'm nothing more than a fox with shapeshifting powers. I took it upon myself to keep you all calm, to keep you all united as one, until the actual Silver Wolf appeared before us, and he has." Nazuna exclaimed, motioning with her hand towards Scythe, still in his full wolf form.
'Ah shit.' Scythe thought.
"My fellow Beastmen, I am but a humble disciple of the Silver Wolf, and as he stands before you, before us on this stage, bask in his glory, as he is a wonder to behold." Nazuna exclaimed, looking up at him, with a gleam in her eye.
'Cleaver girl. You redirected their attention towards me, by claiming I am the Silver Wolf. Looks like I don't have any choice but to play along.' Scythe thought as he returned to his human form, his clothes remaining somehow. "My fellow Beastmen, I say this to you now. Though I am humbled and honored you would make a church to worship me, I ask that you disband it. You are free to continue worshiping me however you see fit, but I ask that you disband this church, as I fear that as you gather in such large numbers, you will become easier targets for the humans. I will continue to watch over you, alongside my two disciples, who I bestowed my power upon. Nazuna Hiwatashi, and Michiru Kagemori."
Speaking that other name took Nazuna by surprise. She wasn't expecting him to say her actual name, sure, but she definitely was not expecting him, to say her best friend's name.
"Therefore, the church is disbanded, as I take my disciple back to my home with me, to further discuss our plans for the future of the Beastman kind's safety." Scythe smiled, noticing her shocked look.
Putting a hand on her shoulder, Scythe began to take them both to the Celestial Armory, and just before they finished the Celestial Teleportation, Boris had managed to grab his wrist, and hitch a ride there with them, as they were in the dining hall.
"Well, would you look at that? Seems the pedo creep is itching for a fight." Scythe exclaimed, raising his arm as Boris still held on to it.
"She is mine, and no one else's. You cannot have her." Boris hissed in a silent whisper.
"Stop it, Boris isn't a creep." Nazuna exclaimed.
"He is a creep and you know it Nazuna." Scythe stated. "Jackie, I brought you your toy."
In an instant, Boris was gone, nabbed by Jack as she came running down the hall, and grabbed him, pulling with enough force to make him let go of Scythe, as Jack dragged him to her, playroom.
"Now, let's get down to business." Scythe said rubbing his wrist.
"What did you do with Boris?" Nazuna asked.
"A creep like him, is getting exactly what he deserves." Scythe said, as Virgo brought a tray of tea and cakes. "Tea?" He asked, sitting at the head of the table.
"Soda." Nazuna exclaimed, sitting in the chair to his right. "Boris isn't a creep you know, he's…"
"The guy who rescued you from the labs, I know." Scythe exclaimed. "But did you ever stop to think, that maybe, just maybe, he only rescued you, because he wanted to make you his, to make you his woman?"
"What are you saying?" Nazuna asked.
"Virgo?"
"Yes my Lord." Virgo said, pulling a file out from under the tray, and handing it to Nazuna. The file was quite thick
"What's this?" Nazuna questioned accepting the file.
"Boris's entire criminal record. I had Virgo retrieve it form police records while I was having you confess to the cult that you had formed." Scythe explained, accepting a cup of tea from Virgo. "Everything in there, is a crime he committed against young girls. The guy is a creep, a pedophile. Everything you can think of and more, involving some form of sexual assault, is in that file, and they were all done, to girls who were either in their early, mid, or late teens. He'd sometimes target children who weren't even in the double digits of age yet. The creep's even gone so far as to kidnap little girls from their beds at night. Trust me, I did you a favor by getting rid of him."
"I… I don't believe it." Nazuna exclaimed reading over the files. "I was so infatuated with him rescuing me, that I didn't even notice what was obviously right in front of me."
"You wanna know what he was gonna do with this?" Scythe asked, holding up Boris's fake bible, and flipping the pages in front of her, showing the entire thing was blank. "He was gonna turn it into a photo album for all the pictures he's no doubt taken of you, and has yet to either print, or process from the film. That's his MO. Once he has collected enough inappropriate and sexual pictures of his victims, he fills an entire book with them, a single picture on each side of the page."
"I… I didn't… I couldn't have…"
"Now then, back to what we were originally gonna discuss." Scythe said, putting the empty book down on the table.
"Right." Nazuna exclaimed, happy to change the subject.
"I want to know, why you were so obsessed with becoming an idol, that you were willing to impersonate a deity and become a religious figurehead, to do so. You could have become a singing idol."
"Most of the world, is against Beastmen even existing, do you honestly think I'd be accepted as a singing pop idol as I am now?" Nazuna exclaimed.
"Yes, I honestly do, because believe it or not, there are more people out there, accepting of the Beastman race, than you realize, or give them credit for." Scythe exclaimed. "You can still become a Pop Idol, it'll just take some time. I can help you kick start your carrier if you wish."
"We'll talk more on that later." Nazuna exclaimed.
"Yes, we will." Scythe stated. "I'm assuming there are some things you're wanting to know?"
"Where we are for starters." Nazuna exclaimed.
"We are in what's known as the Celestial Armory. It is the home of all Celestial Knights, and you just so happen to be sitting across from a Celestial Knight." Scythe explained. "Celestial Knights are the Bounty Hunters of the Multiverse. An' the job I'm currently on had two parts to it, hunting a monster that can destroy entire planets if he wanted, as well as his partner, and protecting both you, and Michiru Kagemori." Scythe said, taking a gold ring out of his pocket and spinning it in the table.
"If you're here, who's protecting Michiru?" Nazuna asked.
"My wife." Scythe exclaimed. "A Celestial Knight, usually partners up with their spouse or lover."
"I see." Nazuna exclaimed.
"So let me ask you this." Scythe said. "What are your thoughts, on Michiru's personality?"
"What are my thoughts?" Nazuna asked.
"Yes, I'd like to know what you personally think of her." Scythe explained.
"Well where do I begin? She's not right in the head. Her sense of justice, and doing what's right, is really just her pitying others to stoke the flames of her own ego, and make her feel superior and better about herself. It's what got us both hospitalized." Nazuna exclaimed.
Scythe stopped spinning the ring on the table, and looked towards Nazuna.
"Did you ever perhaps consider you're wrong?" Scythe asked. "Everyone is entitled to their own opinions of others, I'm not saying you aren't entitled to your own thoughts and feelings. But did you ever stop and think that, maybe she wasn't stoking the flames of her own ego, that perhaps, it's just in her nature to rush in and help someone in need?"
"No, I honestly think that's why she helps people, because she wants to inflate her own ego." Nazuna exclaimed.
"You know I read the report on the incident you two got hospitalized for." Scythe said. "In all honesty, if Michiru hadn't rushed in, to push you out of the way, you would have died from getting hit by that bus, instead of just suffering from a concussion, a couple cracked ribs, and a broken arm. You have your whole life ahead of you now, thanks to her, and I can tell you, she honestly doesn't expect any sort of thanks from people when she helps them. Just yesterday, she helped me and my wife, along with a fellow Celestial Knight, to bust up a child trafficking ring, and she didn't ask for any sort of thank you in return, she didn't ask for any payment, or compensation for risking her life. She was satisfied, with seeing the smiling and thankful faces of those children she helped save."
"It's all an act you know." Nazuna stated. "She's just waiting on the right time to request a reward for her good deeds."
"Okay, I can see we're not getting anywhere with this." Scythe said, flicking the ring at Nazuna.
The ring began to glow, and burst into a ring of flames that seemed to have a mind of its own, before it circled around Nazuna's wrist on her right arm. The flames disappeared, showing the ring took on the form of a Chinese dragon double circled around her wrist, and holding the end of its tail in its mouth.
"What the hell is this thing?" Nazuna asked.
"That, is a restraint guard. It will prevent you from leaving the Celestial Armory, and won't be removed until you either get through whatever mental and emotional troubles you're having that are in regards to Michiru and her heroic sense of justice, or I remove it myself, as only the one who put it on you, can take it off before it's done its job." Scythe explained.
"You can't do this to me." Nazuna exclaimed. "You can't keep me prisoner here."
"I can, and I have. It's clear your hunger for fame and power has clouded your judgement of Michiru, so this is needed. An' you're not a prisoner, you're a patient." Scythe exclaimed, standing up from his seat. "Now, I had a feeling you might try to remove it, on your own, which is why I put it on your wrist. Each time you try to forcefully remove it to escape, the dragon devours more of its tail, and tightens its grip on you, so you're lucky I didn't put it around your neck. It'll only loosen on the tightening when you stop with your escape attempts."
"Why are you doing this?" Nazuna questioned.
"Because you obviously have some issues that need to be resolved, and having you out and about in Anima City right now is not a safe, or sane, idea at the moment with what's going on with the humans hiring terrorists to attack the city." Scythe explained. "Capricorn."
"Yes my Lord?" Capricorn asked, appearing next to him.
"You wouldn't happen to have a Masters and PHD in Psychology and Psychological Therapy would you?" Scythe asked.
"I have a dozen of each my Lord." Capricorn exclaimed.
"Perfect. I'd like you to help Nazuna with any issues she has towards Michiru." Scythe explained.
"As you command my Lord." Capricorn smiled, with a bow.
"Wait, before you leave, tell me why you mentioned Michiru's name in your speech to the Beastmen?" Nazuna questioned.
"Oh, that's simple. Michiru has the same abilities as you and I. She's just not as skilled in using them. She's in Anima City right now, trying to learn how to master them." Scythe explained.
With that, Scythe disappeared from the Celestial Armory, leaving Capricorn to start his first therapy session with Nazuna.
"Now then, shall we get started?" Capricorn asked, moving them both to what looked like a stereotypical therapist's office. "Where shall we begin?"
Nazuna sighed, realizing she didn't have much of any choice in the matter, and decided to bite the bullet and go through with the therapy, as she laid down on the couch.
"Well Doc, it all started on the day I first met Michiru…"
~Anima City~
"I'm back." Scythe called out, appearing on the rooftop of the Co-Op building.
"Welcome back Scythe." Wendy exclaimed. "How'd it go?"
"Sort of good. I had Iskandar deal with the Anti-Beastmen Extremists before I even got there, but I didn't let her know that. She confessed that she wasn't the Silver Wolf, but that kinda backfired." Scythe sighed, leaning against the basketball hoop.
"What do you mean?" Michiru asked.
"She told them all I was the Silver Wolf, putting me in a corner, and I was forced to comply with her ploy. The church was disbanded, but now I'm pretty sure all Beastmen who see me, will see me as the Silver Wolf." Scythe explained.
"That could be a problem." Michiru exclaimed. "But where is she now?"
"She's in the Celestial Armory, going through therapy with Capricorn as she's developed some sort of mental instability with being a lab experiment, combine that with her ego growing from fame and popularity she was getting, she's got some major problems to work out." Scythe sighed. "What about you two, how's training going?"
"It's going somewhat good. Michiru is having a little trouble with controlling her species manipulation." Wendy explained. "I've been doing my best to teach her to control it, but it's not working."
"Take her to the Celestial Armory's fifth level, after we've worked on another case." Scythe explained. "Right now, I think we need to take care of some stuff at the hospital/research center. The goods that had been attacked late last night, were supplied from there to begin with."
"He makes a valid point. Let's get cleaned up and check it out." Wendy said.
~The Hospital/Research Center sometime later~
"So, this is the main computer room for all the servers and data processors for the hospital huh? Gotta say, I'm kinda impressed." Michiru exclaimed.
"This room is meant for storing all patient, scientific breakthroughs, and other such related data within the facility." One of the doctors said, looking at Michiru nervously.
"I see, so what you're saying is, all processor data and data involved with any medical research is stored here?" Scythe asked.
"That's correct, your Grace."
"Looks like word about Scythe being the Silver Wolf, has already been broadcast as public knowledge." Michiru exclaimed.
"Good to know. At least now we know what one of the terrorist's targets might be." Wendy stated.
"So what now?" Michiru asked.
"We wait." Scythe exclaimed.
"Daddy…" Jack said, popping up from out of nowhere.
"What is it sweetie?" Scythe inquired.
"Master Emiya wants to speak with you. It's something super secretive, and very important." Jack exclaimed.
"All right. Jack, you stay with Wendy and Michiru, you three could use a little girl time." Scythe said, before disappearing in a burst of sparkling light, like a Celestial Spirit, returning to the Celestial Armory, where Shirou was waiting for him. "What's up gramps?"
"Scythe, perfect timing. I had a thought, it's most likely Beo will be trying to empower his lover with that Super Soldier Syrum from the last universe he tried to destroy, so I thought, why not even the odds by giving Wendy a power boost?" Shirou exclaimed pulling a box from the drawer in his desk. "We're going to be paying a visit to an old friend of mine. He owes me quite a few favors, and I plan on calling in on one of them for that boost we're making for Wendy."
"Who exactly are we paying a visit to?" Scythe asked.
"He's a brilliant mind, and is the smartest within four, arguably five, galaxies. He's not human, but he's not a threat to humans either." Shirou exclaimed, putting a hand on Scythe's shoulder, before they both disappeared in flashes of light, and emerged within a high tech based facility.
Scythe was astonished that he was in a place like this, and it mesmerized him to see such innovative and advanced technology being used.
"Scythe, this way." Shirou said, calling for Scythe to follow him.
As they went through the halls, Scythe couldn't help but look in fascination and wonder at all he could get his eyes on. He had to double back and look when a tall, feminine figure, with a squid like face walked past them, but Shirou seemed to greet her with familiarity.
"Um…"
"She's a Chimera Sui Generis. A species of alien that are humanoid with a squid like appearance. That was Myaxx, personal assistant to who we're going to see." Shirou exclaimed. "She's quite sweet once you get to know her."
"Okay, guess there are still some things that surprise me. Even after everything I've seen." Scythe said, before they stopped. "We're here?"
"We've arrived at his lab." Shirou smiled. "Let's go inside." He exclaimed before the doors opened, and Scythe followed him in.
Inside the lab, there was plenty of technology and equipment that Scythe had never seen before, but he also found that there were tiny froglike alien creatures running around, dressed as scientists, and carrying different equipment. But the one Shirou and Scythe were walking to, was dressed in green, gray, and black robes, with a belt, and two long antenna like whiskers running down the sides of his face, and two more running down his chin, as he was directing his other assistants.
"That, goes over there. Raise the calibrations to that one by ten, and make sure it's stable." The little creature said.
"Long time, no talk, old friend." Shirou smiled, the little creature not even flinching when hearing his voice.
"Shirou, what is it I can do for you today?" He asked.
"Uh, gramps, quick question. What are these little guys?" Scythe asked.
"Scythe, these are Galvan's. The smartest race of aliens in this known universe. What they lack in size and muscle mass, they make up for with brains and tech." Shirou exclaimed, before turning back to the Galvan in front of him. "My apologies old friend. This is my grandson, Scythe."
"Hello young man." The Galvan said.
"Nice to meet you."
"Scythe, this is Asmuth, and we're here, for some blueprints, and to possibly use your lab, if you're all right with it?" Shirou asked, turning to look back at Asmuth.
"Which blueprints, to which of my devices are you needing Shirou?" Asmuth questioned.
"We're needing your blueprints, for the Omnitrix." Shirou exclaimed with a smile.
A/N: Heyo, just gonna let you know, there's been a couple changes in the story list, so you're just gonna have to wait and see what comes next.
