Sleepless Nights

For months, Katsuki Bakugou and Izuku Midoryia had disappeared along with Ira Akoi, who also disappeared a few months prior. Aizawa had been working to find them but came up dry every time. Soon the new year started up, and he and his class were attacked. Now he has to protect his class and deal with the missing cases.

24. Chapter 23 - Landslide Zone

Landslide Zone:

"DARK SHADOW!" Tokoyami yelled. The dark creature listened to the bird head's command and attacked the villains advancing from the right. Then, to the left, behind, and front. Villains were everywhere. Tokoyami cursed to himself. Whoever devised the plan on who would go to which zone was intelligent knew his strengths and weakness, almost as if they watched him. The boy looked to his left and jumped out of the way of an attack from a villain. Dark Shadow soon came to his rescue and countered.

Now that he thought about it more, if they watched him, they probably watched the rest of his class, too. But the next question was when. He thought about possible times someone could have watched him and his class. Then, it hit him, literally and figuratively. 'The quirk assessment exam!' He thought to himself after a villain had hit him in the back. Luckily, Dark Shadow had his back and protected him from another attack by the villain.

The more he thought about it. Maybe because of this, Mr. Aizawa and the other teachers were on edge. But he couldn't think about this for too long. He had to get out of here. "Dark Shadow, cover me!" Tokoyami shouted.

"Got it!" the shadow bird replied. They ran through the villains while Dark Shadow would go around his master and attack villains. One villain even dropped his weapon, which Tokoyami picked up and used to defend himself. 'Maybe I should be a weapon for myself. I can't rely on Dark Shadow all the time.' He thought to himself since it was working well. After ten minutes of running, the two finally managed to distance themselves from the villains. Soon, Tokoyami and Dark Shadow found a part of a building to hide behind and catch their breath.

Once he was sure they were out of danger, Tokoyami looked around and found that he could hide in the building. So he crawled into it and hid there till he knew he was safe. Then, he started to contemplate more about the villains and how much they actually knew. If they took notes about him and his classmates during their quirk assessment, this so-called 'League of Villains' must have someone good at quirk analysis.

"I'll have this to report this to the teacher," Tokoyami said, "Dark Shadow, any villains near by?"

"None near us, but we still shouldn't linger here for Tokoyami," the shadow bird replied. That's good for now, but he knew they were looking for him. Soon, they would be near him, and he would have to fight for his life again.

"Let's move before they find us," Tokoyami said while crawling out of the building. Then, he started running farther anyway from the villains still at large in the area.
