Sleepless Nights

For months, Katsuki Bakugou and Izuku Midoryia had disappeared along with Ira Akoi, who also disappeared a few months prior. Aizawa had been working to find them but came up dry every time. Soon the new year started up, and he and his class were attacked. Now he has to protect his class and deal with the missing cases.

25. Chapter 24 - Fire Zone

Fire Zone:

The heat was overbearing. Aoyama and Koda were hiding from villains in alleyways and buildings. Unfortunately, Koda couldn't be of much help since no animals were around, so they were in a world of trouble. And Aoyama had a limited number of shots he could make before the stomach pain would become too unbearable. So they had to resort to their only option, hit and run.

Twenty minutes, that was how long they had been going for. 'Two villains coming from the right,' Koda said with hand signals. Aoyama knew the animal boy wasn't much of a talker. Koda had been a shy boy since the first day of school when they first met. He managed to say a few words here and there once he got comfortable around them, but his mouth was zipped shut because of the two's situation. So Aoyama just nodded and charged his naval laser.

"Where are those two brats?" a villain said, "I want to hit something."

"Be patient, will you?" another said, "You'll get your chance soon. Just be patient." The first villain rolled his eyes. They continued to walk past the two boys, somehow not noticing the heavy breathing coming from the two boys or Aoyama's naval laser. Once they entirely passed, the French blonde shot at the two, knocking them out. Then, the two boys sprinted away.

"We need to get out of here," Aoyama said, fear lacing his voice. Koda shook his head rapidly in agreement. Sweat dripped down from their brows. The heat from the flames rose around them. They knew they needed to get out of there, or they may not last much longer. So the two made their way toward the exit, running into a few villains here and there. Running through flames and climbing over debris, the two pushed on despite the sweltering heat. Finally, after what felt like hours, they made it out, and Aoyama used his quirk to weld the door shut. Now that they were out of danger, Koda and Aoyama fell to their knees in exhaustion. But as he did, he started to think. 'How did they plan this so well? How did they know Koda's weakness? Why were we paired up together?'

So many questions swirled around in his head, but he didn't have time to answer them; they had to rejoin the group. "Let's go find the group," Aoyama said while afraid. Koda just nodded. So they just ran to the front to rejoin the group, but they went the long way around to avoid confrontation with any more villains.
