Amity's intro
Water. Earth. Fire. Air.
Long ago, the four nations lived together in harmony. Then, everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked. Only the Avatar, master of all four elements, could stop them, but when the world needed her most, she vanished. A hundred years passed, and me, Willow
and Gus discovered the new Avatar, an airbender named Luz. And although her airbending skills are great, she has a lot to learn before she's ready to save anyone.
But I believe Luz can save the world.
The episode opens under the water. The camera pans upward to sea level, and higher up into the city. The scene changes to where Gus is set to spar with a 17 year old boy named Sangok. He eyes his opponent with a look of determination. Sangok looks at him with a frightened expression on his face, shaking slightly. He summons a globule of water, freezes it into an iceball, and fires it at him. Gus, however, is quick to melt the ice ball and, turning around swiftly, bends a wave of water at him, which he proceeds to freeze, thus suspending Sangok in an icy trap.
(Displeased.) "Nice try, Pupil Sangok." (Shows Sangok trying to break free.) "A couple of more years and you might be ready to fight a sea sponge." (He unfreezes the ice, Sangok falls to the ground dazed.) "Would anyone care for a rematch with Gus?" (The scene cuts to several students sitting by the sidelines, the camera panning to the right showing all of them to be tired and unamused.) "Gus, you've advanced more quickly than any student I've ever trained." (Cuts to a shot of Gus, who smiles brightly.) "You have proven that with fierce determination, passion and hard work, you can accomplish anything." (Turns to Luz irritably.) "Raw talent alone is not enough." (Cut to Luz who is lying on the ground with a lazy smile, floating King around on an airball above her as Amity was trying to make a small snowman.) "Pupil Luz!" Pakku shouted
(Stops bending at the sound of her name, King lands on her head.) "Yes, Master Pakku?" Luz asked
(Sarcastically.) "Care to step into the sparring circle? I figure since you've found time to play with house pets, you must have already mastered waterbending." Pakku said
"I hope she did." Eda said
(Jumps off the ground with airbending.) "I wouldn't say mastered, but check this out." Luz said
She twists around, bending some snow around her to make a snowman of herself, which King knocks over making Amity let out a small chuckle. Cut to Gus, Eda and Pakku who wear similar expressions of disdain. Pakku shakes his head in disappointment, while Gus looks on in irritation, with Eda pinching the bridge of her nose annoyed. The scene changes to another part of the city
where Willow and Loe are taking a walk along a bridge. Willow is walking along the top of the bridge's wall while balancing.
"So they don't have palaces in the Southern Tribe?" Loe asked
(Sitting down on the ledge.) "Are you kidding? I grew up in a block of ice. It's not exactly a cultural hub." Willow said
(Laughs and places his hand on Willow's shoulder, when Willow smiles at him, he gets a little upset and looks at her seriously.) "Willow, this is wrong." Loe said
(Protesting.) "What's wrong? We're taking a walk!" Willow said
(Unsurely.) "I'm engaged. It just feels …" Loe started saying
(Brightens.) "I know what you need." (She hops off the rail to stand by his side.) "You need to meet my good friend, Appa." Willow said
(Curiously.) "Who?" Loe asked
The scene changes to where the two approach the stables, where Appa is resting.
(Opening her arms out in enthusiasm.) "Appa and I go way back, don't we, boy?" (The thunder of Appa's shifting bulk is heard and Willow's features turn to surprise. Appa enters from the left and lands on top of her and licks her, much to Willow's dismay.) "Ah, ah, easy! Down boy! Agh! No, up!" Willow said in panic
"Looks like you haven't been giving Appa enough attention!" Loe said
Loe laughs. Willow attempts to pull herself free of Appa, who continues to lick her face. The scene changes to the two sitting on Appa's saddle, Willow holding the reins in her hand.
(Excitedly.) "So, how does this work?" Loe asked
"Are you holding on tight?" (Loe nods, in a cool tone.) "Yip …" (Cut to a close up of Willow's face.) "yip." Willow said
The camera zooms out to a shot of the entire city as Appa takes off.
(Impressed.) "Oh ... my ... goodness!" (Cuts to where Appa is soaring over the ocean, Loe is looking over the saddle.) "Wow, I can't believe you do this every day." Loe said
(Stretches.) "Yeah, we pretty much live up here." Willow said
"Is it always this cold in the sky?" Loe asked (Moves closer to Willow.)
(Happily.) "Not when you're with someone." Willow said
(Turning to face Willow, blushing.) "It's beautiful up here." Loe said
"Yeah …" (The two turn to each other and slowly begin to lean in, but at the very last moment, Willow widens her eyes, turns away and pretends to act cool again.) "Woo, yeah! Ahhh, good times, good times." (Snow and black soot start to fall from the sky.) "Hey, look!" Willow said
(Camera zooms out to Appa flying through the gray snowfall, worried.) "What's happening?" Loe said
(Nervous.) "Oh no …" Willow said
The scene cuts to where civilians have stopped to observe the sooty snow. Cuts to Luz, who laughs as she gleefully rolls around in the snow in a circular pattern making Amity laugh from seeing. Cuts to King, who opens his mouth and catches a sooty snowflake only to bristle and spit out the contents. Luz stops playing around as she and Amity look up at the snowfall with concerned faces. Cuts to civilians standing near a fountain. Camera pans down to show the fountain's water turning black.
(Picking up a handful of black snow.) "Soot." Willow said
"What?" Loe asked
Scene reveals Willow, Loe, and Appa having landed right outside the outskirts of Agna Qel'a, near the shores of the North Pole seas. Willow is kneeling down, observing the snow.
"I've seen this before, right before my village was attacked. It's soot mixed with snow." Willow said (Rises.)
"But, why?" Loe asked
(Looking out over the horizon.) "It's the Fire Nation." (Looks at Loe concerned.) "They've closed in on the North Pole and from the looks of this stuff," (Camera zooms out to show the enormity of the sooty snowfall.) "I'd say there's a lot of them." Willow said
Cuts to the lead ship sailing toward the Water Tribe, under the command of Admiral Bhao and Kaldo.
(Voice-over.) "This will truly be one for the history books, General Kaldo." (Cuts to Bhao and Kaldo standing on deck.) "Just think, centuries from now, people will study the great Admiral Bhao, who destroyed the last of the Water Tribe civilization. You're lucky you're here to see it." Bhao said
(Tersely.) "Be careful what you wish for, Admiral. History is not always kind to its subjects." Kaldo said
"I suppose you speak from experience, but rest assured. This will be nothing like your legendary failure at Ba Sing Se." Bhao said (Walks forward.)
(Sadly.) "I hope not, for your sake." Kaldo said
"Tell the captains to prepare for the first strike." Bhao said
Kaldo walks away. Cuts to the bow of the lead ship breaking through thick ice floes floating in the water. Cuts to the interior of the ship, where Kaldo is confronting Lilith disguised as a Fire Nation soldier. Lilith is forced to wear the disguise to keep the secret from Bhao that she survived an attempted assassination.
(Secretly.) "We'll be landing soon. Do you have a plan?" Kaldo asked
(Removes her mask to reveal her face covered in cuts.) "I'm working on it, Kaldo." Lilith said (Puts covering back in place.)
The two head off in separate directions. Back at the Northern Water Tribe, citizens flee to the town hall, as two watchmen hit a drum to signal the Fire Nation's approach. Willow and Loe make their way up the steps, but Loe stops the approach.
(Trying to drag him along.) "What's wrong?" (Pointing up to the citadel.) "We have to go!" Willow said
(Sadly, lets go of Willow's hand.) "No, Willow, wait, I can't see you anymore. Not at all." Loe said
(Protesting.) "What? We're just friends." Willow said
"I wish we could just be friends, but I like you too much and it's too confusing to be around you. I'm marrying someone else!" Loe said (Turns away sorrowfully.)
"You don't love her, do you? You don't even seem to like her." Willow said
"But I do love my people." Loe said
(Objecting.) "You're not marrying them." Willow said
(Turns to face Willow.) "You don't understand. I have duties to my father, to my tribe. I have to do this. Goodbye." Loe said
He runs past Willow up the stairs quickly. Closes up on Willow, who looks on with dismay. The scene cuts to inside the chief's Royal Palace.
"The day we have feared for so long has arrived. The Fire Nation is on our doorstep. It is with great sadness that I call my family here before me, knowing well that some of these faces are about to vanish from our tribe," (While saying this line, the scene flashes from Loe to Pakku to a high ranking soldier.) "but they will never vanish from our hearts. Now, as we approach the battle for our existence, I call upon the great spirits. Spirit of the Ocean! Spirit of the Moon! Be with us! I'm going to need volunteers for a dangerous mission." The Chief said
(Rising from her seat.) "Count me in!" Willow said
"Willow …" Amity said
"Be warned, many of you will not return." (Several Water Tribe men rise and walk forward.) "Come forward to receive my mark, if you accept the task." The Chief said
The Chief paints three red line marks with his fingers on one man's forehead. The man walks away, slightly sorrowful. Willow steps forward and the Chief paints the same three marks. She begins walking away sadly and turns to look at Loe. After staring at each other for a few moments, Willow continues walking. Loe averts his gaze, closes his eyes and begins crying.
The scene changes to outside Agna Qel'a where Luz is perched on a snow mound, holding her staff. The Chief approaches her.
"The stillness before battle is unbearable. Such a quiet dread." the Chief said
Amity joins them.
"I wasn't there when the Fire Nation attacked my people." (Determined.) "I'm going to make a difference this time." Luz said
She rises and holds her staff behind her back in a similar pose as seen in the opening sequence. The camera pans upward to the sky. The scene changes to where Luz, Amity, Gus, Willow, Eda, Appa and all the warriors are gathered at the wall. Something distant can be seen soaring toward Agna Qel'a from the horizon. Luz squints her eyes before realizing the object is a fireball. Cuts to Amiity, Gus, Willow and Eda, who look on in terror. The fireball collides into the wall of the city, sending Team Avatar and several warriors flying back. Cuts to the wall of the city, damaged and beginning to fall apart.
Cuts to another fireball being launched into the air. The fireball disintegrates a bridge within the city. Cuts to a trebuchet operator launching another fireball into the air, which hits the wall.
"Yip-yip!" Luz said
She and Appa take flight, heading toward the fleet. Cuts to the warriors who regather themselves, helping each other up.
(Pulls her arm free from the snow.) "Amity! Gus! Eda!" Willow shouted
Eda uses waterbending to free Amity, Gus and herself from a snow mound they became buried underneath. Willow smiles and hoists her friends onto their feet. The four cast their eyes upward, catching sight of two fireballs that soar overhead. Cuts to Appa who grunts, Luz guiding him, a determined look on her face. Cuts to a bird's-eye view of the ocean, Luz flying toward a single Fire Navy ship. Two fireballs are launched. Cuts to the deck of the ship, where trebuchet operators
launch another fireball back to Appa and Luz. Cuts to fireball soaring straight toward Luz, who uses her glider to direct it into an icy cliff side near Agna Qel'a.
"I'll take it from here, boy." Luz said
She jumps down from Appa and flies downward on her glider onto the first ship. Using airbending, she sweeps several trebuchet operators off their feet and leaps onto one trebuchet. An operator comes forward and slams a sledgehammer onto the machine, nearly striking Luz who manages to back-flip away. Cuts to where she stands on top of the contraption, two more operators approaching her from opposite directions, each holding a sledgehammer. The one on her right brings the sledgehammer down preceded by the one on her left. She jumps into the air, avoiding both blows and completely collapses the trebuchet with her glider and the use of airbending. She lands onto the deck, triumphant.
She runs over to an unoccupied trebuchet, already loaded with a flaming boulder. She sticks a sledgehammer in another launcher's chain. When a soldier approaches her, Luz blasts him away, activating the catapult which launches the fireball straight into the deck, leaving a large hole. The camera zooms out on the damage.
Cuts to Luz, who runs past two operators who quickly chase after her. She arrives at two trebuchets, one before her and one behind her, and tangles their chains together. She leaps onto the machine before her as the soldiers approach and slams her foot onto the pedal that activates the catapult. The catapult lunges forward, causing the second trebuchet to collide into the first, destroying both.
Smiling happily, Luz proceeds to another machine. Cuts to a burly man, who observes her evilly. Luz prepares to strike the machine with a sledgehammer only to turn around and catch sight of the man who attempts to land blows from afar with two sledgehammers, each attached to long chains. Luz jumps out of the way of several blows. Cuts to the man who swings the chains around. Luz leans against a beam only for the two chains to wrap around the beam thus trapping her. She struggles to break free.
Cuts to the soldier, who is suddenly knocked over by Appa's paw. The chains snap and Luz breaks free.
(Brightening.) "Appa!" Luz said
Appa leans over the deck of the ship and tosses the man overboard before turning to Luz, who runs over and embraces him.
"Thanks for the rescue, buddy!" Luz said
Her expression of relief becomes one of alarm when the ship begins to rumble. Cuts to an undamaged trebuchet that collapses when a gigantic spike of ice pierces straight through the hull and deck of the ship. Cuts to dozens of Water Tribe warriors riding on boats, who are using waterbending to suspend the ship. Cuts to the entire ship being uprooted. Cuts to Appa, who stands
on the sloping deck, the ruins of machinery sliding downward past them. He and Luz take off. Cuts to the horizon, where an entire fleet comes into view, the ships large in quantity.
(Shocked.) "You've got to be kidding me …" Luz said
The scene cuts to the training for the mission.
"Men, you'll be infiltrating the Fire Nation Navy. That means you'll all need one of these uniforms." the Chief said
The camera pans upward, revealing a young woman, Lana, who appears in the uniform that will be used. Willow laughs. The rest of the warriors turn to stare at her.
(Angrily.) "What's your problem?" Lana asked
"Fire Navy uniforms don't look like that." Willow said
(Irritably.) "Of course they do. These are real uniforms captured from actual Fire Navy soldiers." Lana said
(Sarcastically.) "When, like, a hundred years ago?" Willow asked
"Eighty-five." the Chief said
(Walks over and flings one of the shoulder spikes with her finger.) "The Fire Nation doesn't wear shoulder spikes anymore. The newer uniforms are more streamlined." Willow said
Willow bends the tip of one of the shoulder spikes back with the tip of her finger and lets go. It bounces back to its original shape with a little comic sound effect.
"How do we know we can trust this girl?" (Turns to growl at Willow, who glares at her in return.) "Such bold talk for a new recruit." Lana said
"Willow is from our sister tribe, Lana. She's a capable warrior and I value her input." (Willow shoots Lana a smug look, the chief turns to the rest of the regiment.) "Now, our first objective is to determine the identity of their commanding officer." the Chief said
"His name is Bhao. Middle-aged," (Tracing imaginary sideburns with her fingers.) "big sideburns, bigger temper …" Willow started saying
"Willow, I want you to tell everything you know to Lana. She's leading this mission. Lana, show Willow your respect." (Beginning to walk away.) "I expect nothing less from my future daughter-in-law." the Chief said
(Stares at Lana, mouth agape, points at her and narrows her eyes.) "Prince Loe's marrying you?" Willow asked
(Irritated.) "Yeah, what of it?" Lana asked
(Turns away from Lana, upset.) "Nothing. Congratulations." Willow said
Scene fades to sunset where fireballs are continually launched. A bird's-eye view is shown of the fleet attacking Agna Qel'a. Cuts to several fireballs, camera pans downward to show them hitting the city.
(Pointing to the sky.) "Stop those fireballs!" Pakku shouted
Cuts to shot of oncoming fireball. The waterbenders bend up a column of water and freeze it, capturing the fireball. Cuts to a side-view of the leading ships of the fleet, the uprooted ship in view. The scene cuts to the interior of Bhao's ship.
"It's almost twilight, Admiral. As your military consultant, I must advise you to halt your attack." (Cuts to shot of the ship, sailing past a rising moon.) "The waterbenders draw their power from the moon, and it is nearly full tonight. You should wait and resume the attack at daybreak." Kaldo said (Cuts back to Kaldo and Bhao.)
"Oh, I'm well aware of the moon problem and I am working on a solution. But for now, daybreak it is." Bhao said
The lead ship drops its anchor, followed by the rest of the ships, who drop their anchors and cease the attack. Cuts to a shot of Agna Qel'a, smoke billowing from several spots. Loe can be seen looking out over the horizon.
"They've stopped firing." Loe said
Loe, Amity, Gus and Eda stand side by side, viewing the city. Appa appears over the horizon, flying toward them.
"Luz!" Eda said
Luz lands on the ground, exasperated. Amity, Gus, Eda and Loe approach her.
(Clearly exhausted, placing her hands on her head.) "I can't do it ... I can't do it." Luz said
"What happened?" Gus asked
(Dimly.) "I must have taken out a dozen Fire Navy ships, but there's just too many of them. I can't fight them all." Luz said
(Pleadingly.) "But, you have to. You're the Avatar." Loe said
(Solemnly.) "I'm just one kid." Luz said
She buries her face in her arms. Amity kneels down beside her in an attempt to comfort her. The scene changes to nightfall on the lead ship. Cuts inside a room where Lilith prepares a boat, winding up some rope. Kaldo enters.
"If you're fishing for an octopus my commander, you need a tightly woven net, or he will squeeze through the tiniest hole and escape." Kaldo said
"I don't need your wisdom right now, Lieutenant." Lilith said
"I'm sorry. I just nag you, because ... well," (Voice breaking slightly.) "ever since I lost my son …" Kaldo started saying
"Kaldo, you don't have to say it." Lilith said
"... I think of you as my own daughter." Kaldo said
(Faces her lieutenant, a softer expression on her face.) "I know, Kaldo. We'll meet again." (Kaldo hugs her.) "After I have the Avatar." Lilith said (She turns away and gets on the boat.)
"Remember your breath of fire. It could save your life out there." Kaldo said
"I will." Lilith said (Lowers the boat, suspended by ropes, down the side of the ship into the water.)
"And put your hood up. Keep your ears warm!" Kaldo said
"I'll be fine!" Lilith said
The shot cuts to Agna Qel'a, several ships lying stationery ahead of her. Back inside the warriors' base. Lana and Willow sharpen their axes against grindstones.
(Smugly.) "Let me tell you Willow, I've courted a lot of boys, but Loe is the finest and he comes with the most perks." Lana said
(Annoyed.) "Perks? What does that mean?" Willow asked
"I mean, Loe's nice and everything, but the points I'll gain with the chief aren't bad either." Lana said
(Angered.) "Prince Loe is wasted on a self-absorbed weasel like you!" Willow said
(Camera begins closing up on Lana.) "Whoa, hang on. What do you care?" (Willow closes her eyes sorrowfully.) "You're just a simple rube from the Southern Tribe. What would you know of the political complexities of our life?" (Smirking.) "No offense." Lana said
(Shouts and tackles Lana, the two begin rolling around on the floor in a struggle.) "You're just a jerk without a soul, no offense!" Willow shouted
The two continue to roll about on the floor. Cuts to a shot of Willow and Lana, each pulling the other's pigtails in fury. They are suddenly separated by the Chief.
"That's enough! Willow, you're off the mission!" the Chief said
Willow, her hair loose and hanging in locks, appears stunned before crossing her arms in anger.
"All right, fall in troops! Everybody listen to what I say and we'll take out this Admiral Chō in no time!" Lana said
(Irritated, waves arms in gesture.) "It's Admiral Bhao!" Willow said
The scene changes to outside on the water where Lilith rows past, navigating her way through the path of ice spikes. Cuts to a view of a Water Tribe guard on patrol, pausing and looking out over the horizon just as Lilith's canoe disappears behind an ice spike. The guard continues walking. Cuts back to Lilith who continues to paddle toward the wall, before switching to a shot of her peering from behind an ice spike, her canoe pulled up onto the ice. Camera cuts to and zooms in on a shot of several Water Tribe guards marching atop the wall. Lilith turns around and sees a group of turtle seals resting by a hole in the ice. One seal plunges head first into the icy water. Lilith looks back up to the wall and begins approaching the hole.
(Peering down into the hole.) "Where are they going?" (Cuts to a shot of the hole, her face reflected in the water.) "They're coming up for air somewhere." Lilith said
She pulls down the mask covering her mouth and nose and inhales deeply. Cuts to shot of Lilith from beneath the water, she plunges into the water. The scene changes, cutting to a shot of the waxing gibbous moon hanging in the sky.
(Off camera.) "The legends say the moon was the first waterbender." (Cuts to shot of him, Luz, Amity, Gus and Eda standing on a balcony, looking up at the sky.) "Our ancestors saw how it pushed and pulled the tides and learned how to do it themselves." Loe said
"I've always noticed my waterbending is stronger at night." Gus said
"I've been wondering how it's like that." Eda said (writes it down in her book)
"Our strength comes from the spirit of the moon. Our life comes from the spirit of the ocean." (Camera pans slightly downward, showing Luz with a dull expression on her face.) "They work together to keep balance." Loe said
(Brightening.) "The spirits!" (Raises head, startling King.) "Maybe I can find them and get their help!" Luz said
"How can you do that?" Loe asked
(Approaching him.) "The Avatar is the bridge between our world and the Spirit World! Luz can talk to them!" Amity said
(To Aang.) "Maybe they'll give you the wisdom to win this battle!" Loe said
(Waves arms out in gesture.) "Or maybe they'll unleash a crazy amazing spirit attack on the Fire Nation!" (Amity, Gus and Loe looked at her oddly, Luz looked at them and straightened up.) "Or wisdom. That's good, too." Luz said
"The only problem is, last time you got to the Spirit World by accident. How are you going to get there this time?" Amity asked
"I have an idea. Follow me." Loe said
He begins walking away. Cuts to a shot of the chief's Royal Palace, the camera panning downward to the ground where Loe walks by, followed by Luz, Amity and Gus. Cuts to shot of Loe standing by a small, round wooden door, Luz approaching close behind.
(Walking up to the door.) "So, is this the way to the Spirit World?" Luz asked
(Laughs.) "No. You'll have to get there on your own." (Leans inward.) "But I can take you to the most spiritual place in the entire North Pole." Loe said (Opens the door.)
Luz steps inside. The camera pans upward and zooms in to reveal a small verdant oasis lying ahead, a waterfall flowing directly behind it. Zooms in on Luz, who gasps in amazement.
(Grabs Amity's wrist and runs to the back of the oasis and rolls around on the ground with Amity flopping down onto it face forward.) "I never thought I'd miss grass this much!" Luz said
(Approaching the oasis.) "It's so warm here! How is that possible?" Eda asked
"It's the center of all spiritual energy in our land." Loe said
Amity, Gus, Eda and Loe removed their coats. Cuts to a view of two fish, one black and one white, swimming about in the pond. King sticks his hand in the pond and tries to grab the two fish in the water. Cuts to a shot of them standing over him, looking rather irritated.
"You're right, Loe. I can feel ... something. It's so tranquil." Luz said (Positions herself to meditate.)
Meanwhile, Lilith emerges from the water through another hole in the ice. She lies on her back on the ice and catches her breath. She rolls over onto her side, begins shivering and breathes fire to warm herself.
(To the barking turtle seals.) "Be quiet!" Lilith shouted
The pack of seals quiets down. Cuts to shot of several seals, who watch as Lilith walks past, pushing aside the heads of two of them. They resume barking. She makes her way through another opening where water is pouring out. Cuts to shot of her foot boring into the wall as she tries to steady herself and make her way through the channel of water. Cuts to inside the channel, where she slowly crawls her way through. Cut back to the warriors' base. Willow is crouched on the floor, sharpening her boomerang when she is approached.
"Is something wrong, Willow?" the Chief asked
(Sarcastically.) "Oh, no. Lana's out there on the top-secret mission while I'm here sharpening my boomerang. Everything's fine." Willow said
"Listen to me. I took you off the mission for selfish reasons. I have a special task in mind for you." the Chief said
"What, you want me to scrub the barracks?" Willow asked
"I want you to guard my son, Prince Loe." the Chief said
(Rises and tries to act cool.) "Oh ... Sure. That ... shouldn't be too hard." Willow said
The Chief exits the scene, Willow's face falls. Lilith continues to make her way through the channel of water. She exits from the channel and floats to the surface of the water. She emerges from the surface and inhales deeply several times. She proceeds to duck her head under the water, surveying the area. The camera zooms in on another channel. Lilith swims toward the channel and upward. As she attempts to resurface, however, the surface of the water has frozen into a thick ice patch. Lilith tries to break through the ice. She suddenly exhales, signaling her need for air. She heats her hands using firebending and melts a hole in the ice. Cuts to a tunnel way in the city, the ice steaming and finally melting away. Lilith emerges and catches her breath. She relaxes against the wall of the tunnel. The scene changes back to the Spirit Oasis, where Luz is meditating, Amity, Gus, Eda and Loe watching her.
"Why is she sitting like that?" Loe asked
"She's meditating, trying to cross over into the Spirit World." (Luz scrunches up her face in concentration.) "It takes all his concentration." Amity said
"Is there any way we can help?" Loe asked
(Angrily.) "How about some quiet? Come on guys, I can hear every word you're saying!" Luz said
The camera zooms in on the pond, where the two koi fish are shown circling each other. Cuts to shot of beneath the pond, showing an underside-view of the two fish. Cuts to shot of Aang staring at the fish, seemingly mesmerized. Cuts back to two fish circling each other before switching back to Luz. Cuts back to an image of the two fish, which morphs into an image of the symbols for yin and yang. Cuts back to Luz, as her eyes and tattoos light up.
(Worried.) "Is she okay?" Loe asked
"She's crossing into the Spirit World. She'll be fine as long as we don't move her body." (Cuts to an overhead shot of the pond.) "That's her way back to the physical world." Gus said
"Maybe we should get some help." Loe said
(Smiling.) "No, she's our friend. we're perfectly capable of protecting her." Amity said
(Sarcastically.) "Well, aren't you a big girl now." a voice said
the group turned their heads to the source of the voice and saw Lilith walking towards them*
(Alarmed and dismayed.) "No …" Amity said
(Determined.) "Yes. Hand her over and I won't have to hurt you." Lilith said
"Stay back kids, I'll handle this." Eda said
Loe runs from the scene, with Amity and Gus stepping in front of Luz to defend her as Eda assumes a defensive stance, Lilith appearing on screen. Cuts to Lilith, who kicks up her leg, sending a fire blast Eda's way. She fires more blasts from her hands. Cuts to shot of Lilith and Eda, Lilith continually firing as Eda conjures up water shields to deflect the attacks. Cuts to Eda, who draws water from the pond and sends the stream at Lilith, who is preparing another attack. The blast pushes Lilith back several feet and knocks her to the ground.
(Rising.) "I see you still have your waterbending skills, but I didn't come this far to lose to you." Lilith said
She turns around and fires another blast which Eda blocks by summoning another shield of water. Cuts to shot of Lilith, Eda, Amity, Gus and Luz as Eda sends a powerful jet of water at her opponent. The jet collides into Lilith, who is sent farther back. As she attempts to steady herself from the impact, small juts of ice form around her feet for Eda to look to see who was controlling it. Cuts to close-up of Gus, a determined look on his face. Water begins rising around Lilith and encircling her. Gus waves her arms about wildly, forming a ball of water around her which he freezes solid. Cuts to close-up of him as he smiles triumphantly. Cuts to Lilith imprisoned in the ice.
"You little peasant. You've found a master, haven't you?" Lilith asked
The globule of ice begins glowing bright orange with heat and the ground rumbles. Cuts to a view of the entire globule as it heats up intensely before melting. She fires repeated attacks at Eda, who draws water from the oasis to deflect the attacks. She prepares to strike her with a water blast, however, Lilith manages to slip away and head toward Luz. Just as her fingers grasp Luz's collar, Amity fires a fire blast, throwing Lilith to the other wall. He whips up a large wave and sends the attack at Lilith. The rush of water sends Lilith up the side of the cliff; he freezes the water, encasing
her in ice. Cuts to Pakku who looks over the horizon in the city as the sun rises. The scene cuts to Bhao's ship.
"It's daybreak at last. Let's write history." Bhao said
Back at the Spirit Oasis, rays of sunlight beam down on Lilith, who remains imprisoned in the ice, her head bent down. She feels the heat and sharply raises her head. With a determined look on her face, she breathes steam from her nose, melting the ice quickly. Sje lands on the ground and fires a blast at Eda, who had her back turned to her at that moment. She turns around swiftly and attempts to deflect the blast by conjuring a water shield, however, she creates the shield too late. The blast sends her into Amity and Gus for all three to slam into the gate to the Spirit World, knocking them out. Smoke from the impact fills the screen. Cuts to shot of Lilith standing over them, holding Luz by the collar.
"You rise with the moon ... I rise with the sun." Lilith said
The scene changes to where Fire Navy ships break through the city wall, their bows crumbling the wall, allowing soldiers armed with spears to rush in.
"The Water Tribe can try to resist the inevitable, but their city will fall today." Bhao said
Cuts back to the oasis. Camera focuses on a close-up of Amity, whose eyes suddenly snap open as she regains consciousness, only to realize Luz is gone. She crawls around making Gus and Eda fall, stirring them awake, desperately searching for her.
"Luz!" Amity shouted
