AJ had left and I was finally feeling normal again. The incident happened over a month ago. I was in therapy and it was helping. I texted Shaun daily and saw him usually once every two weeks. I was finally feeling like my old self again. Phil was coming in town this weekend, from Atlanta, and we were both flying to LA. I was going to stay with them while they did press out there for the next PPV for AEW. Tony was going to be out there with us, so it was going to be interesting. Shaun was already planning what we were doing when I was out there.

I was sitting in my office when someone knocked on my door. I didn't have a meeting until 1pm so I wasn't sure who it could be. I glanced up to see Max standing in the doorway. I smiled and motioned for him to come in. He brought me coffee and sat down. I swear I liked more than coffee, but it meant that I got like 3 coffees through out the day.

"How are you?" he asked me and I nodded.

"I'm getting there. How are you?" I asked him and he nodded.

"I wanted to know if you wanted to have dinner tonight... as friends. I feel like I need to make up a lot to you after that night at the stadium." he said with a small chuckled.

"I wouldn't mind getting dinner, and you don't have anything to make up for. I promise." I told him and he nodded.

"Still, where do you want me to meet you?" he asked and I smiled at him. I did feel for Max. We had a rocky start, became good friends, and now it felt somewhat strained because of a dumb moment that we just needed to move past.

"Why don't you just come over and bring food? I can pay my half once you get it." I said and he nodded.

"I'll see you tonight around 5." he said and I nodded. I got off at 4 so that was plenty of time.

I finished up for the day and talked to Shaun on my drive home. He knew that I was having dinner with Max, and only sounded a little jealous. I reassured him that I had no plans of quitting our relationship. I felt really happy with Shaun. I changed and there was a knock on the door around 5. I opened it to see Max holding a bunch of food that smelled like Chinese.

"I wanted Chinese as a cheat meal, and I knew you ate it. I just didn't know what you ate so I got a little of everything." he said as I helped him sit it down.

"I love Chinese. How much do I owe you?" I asked him and he waved it off.

"Call it an apology." he said.

"I think the unicorn well made up for that." I said and he chuckled. He had gotten me a huge stuffed bear and Unicorn when I was hurt.

We both wanted to watch the movie 10 Things I Hate About You. I was glad because it was one of my favorite movies. Max had literally gotten us a Chinese buffet. We ate so much as we watched the movie and talked about different things. He was happy that I was talking to Shaun and I found out that he was talking to a woman who lived in his building. I was glad that he was talking to someone after his fiance left left around midnight, and left me some of the food. I told him to take it all, but he wanted me to have half. I knew that would be dinner for a few nights. I texted Shaun goodnight and that turned into me going to be around 2am.

Shaun POV

I couldn't wait for Rae to come to the west coast. I wanted nothing more than to spend time with her. I also had a surprise for her. I was sitting by the pool when Phil walked out. I waved him over.

"Hey man, when do you fly to Atlanta?" I asked him.

"Tomorrow morning. When is your next show?" He asked me.

"I fly out tomorrow night." He said and I nodded.

"Can I ask you something?" He asked me and I nodded.

"What are your intentions with my sister?" He asked me. I wasn't surprised he was going to ask me this since what Rae had just been through.

"I really like her. She is amazing. I want to see where this goes and if she doesn't then I'll walk away. I'll be sad as fuck, but I respect it." I said and he nodded.

"Just remember that if it goes wrong." He warned me and I nodded.

"I'm actually buying a condo in Orlando to be closer to her and the performance center. I'm going to rent this one out to a friend." I said and Phil looked surprised.

"I hated the idea of her dating wrestler. I wanted to protect her. She dated Wade fucking Barrett, and that went south. You saw what Michael did. I don't want her to be hurt anymore." He said and I nodded.

"I promise to do all I can to make her happy or walk away." I said and he nodded.

We sat out and talked about wrestling and life. I never in a million years thought I would be sitting with a top name in wrestling talking about life and dating his sister. He was one of the guys who made it from the indies into a large company. He gave other guys hope that you could build your own fan base to make it.
