So this is my idea of what would happen if Luz had the powers of Wolverine. Why Wolverine? For two reasons. One, a very specific scene plays out much more comically if she had those powers. I won't write that one yet, but it made me want to write it. And two, I don't think Wolverine's been done yet. Now, I'm going to give her the full healing factor, along with Logan's full metal skeleton, but she'll have Laura's claws because I think they'd fit Luz a little better. She'll also have the enhanced senses that come with it. Most importantly, her metal is mutant because that would open at least eight cans of worms for Vee if it was scientifically done.

Now, I'm already writing two other Aus along with a retelling, so I'm not going to write the whole thing. Just specific scenes that change with the powers. Otherwise I'll burn myself out watching and rewatching episodes.

Luz fell from the top floor of the Conformatorium, landing on her head as Eda and King rolled with the impact. She felt a huge chunk of skin missing from the side of her head, but she could already feel the wound closing up, barely any blood escaping.

"Ow, my bones!" King yelled in pain as Eda fished the portal key out of her hair.

"Luz, go back to the Human Realm," she ordered, turning to face Warden Wrath.

"What about you guys?" Luz asked, worried that the warden might be too much for her to handle.

"If you think this guy's bad, you should have seen her last boyfriend," King joked, annoying Eda as she picked him up to get him away from Wrath.

"Not my boyfriend," Eda corrected, trying to dodge back. She put Luz on the staff, swatting the butt of it. "Go! Go!" Before Owlbert flew off to safely evacuate Luz while leaving King and Eda behind, she instinctively rolled off, landing on the ground.

"Come on, kid, this isn't your problem!" Eda yelled, countering Wrath's fire breath by sending it back at him. The impact sent him flying into a wall, opening it up so that the three prisoners could see what was happening. "Get yourself out of here before you get hurt,"

"No!" Luz yelled, glaring at Wrath. "I'm always running away from bullies but I'm tired of it. If this guy wants to fight…" She raised her fists in front of her, making an X with her arms. "…then let's fight," She threw her arms out in front of her, making two long claws appear from her fists, taking Eda by surprise.

She ran forward, letting out a battle cry as she did. Warden Wrath saw her coming and let out a fire breath, which she ducked under but not enough to dodge completely. Eda and King watched in horror as Luz's head was engulfed in flames. They thought she was done for, but once the fire had stopped, they saw her jump up from the ground, head completely charred but otherwise fine. And even then, the burn marks on her scalp had quickly faded away, almost as if they were never there. Even her hair grew back to the length it was a moment ago. The excessive healing took the warden off guard, leaving him vulnerable to Luz's slash. She purposely pulled her attack, trying only to wound the demon. As mad as she was, she wasn't about to kill another living being. Regaining his focus, Wrath pulled back his hand, making a large axe, and swung it down on Luz's shoulder. A normal person would have lost an arm. Luz, having adjusted her clothes to handle her own claws accidentally popping out, just had the axe brush off her shoulder, slicing her arm on the way down. Her arm sealed itself completely and she got back to work. She reared her foot back, another blade popping out, as she kicked the warden in the shin. He howled in pain and fell back, unable to stand with the new injury. On the ground, he still tried his best, attempting to catch her with tendrils from his arms, but she sliced them with ease. They grew back as well, but it hurt the warden just the same. He crawled back, hoping to get away but found himself with his back to a wall.

"Who… what are you?!" he demanded fearfully.

"Do not underestimate me, Warden Wrath," she said dramatically. "For I am Luz the Human, warrior of peace." She took a quick pose before returning to what she was doing. "Now eat this, sucka!" She pulled a bundle of fireworks out of her messenger bag and threw them into the warden's open mouth. He reacted instinctively, trying to blast the projectiles with a blast of fire, but it backfired, setting off the fireworks only a foot from his face. In shame, he hobbled himself back inside the Conformatorium, utterly defeated by a teenage girl. Once he was out of earshot, she took a deep breath and spoke to herself. "I'm done running from who I am. I'm done hiding what I am," She looked up and saw Eda and King walk up to her.

"Can… can all humans do that?" King asked hesitantly.

"Only two others that I've heard of," Luz answered honestly, "but there are other types of mutants, like Ice Man,"

"Okay, I need more info, but we should probably bounce first," Eda said, getting Owlbert ready to go. Luz nodded, boarding the staff.

"So humans are mostly normal, probably the way you picture them," Luz explained on the flight back to the Owl House. "but a small percentage of them carry a gene that makes us mutate," She pulled up her arm and flexed her fist. "When I mutated, my skeleton became metal and I got these claws in both hands and feet. Some people have telekinesis, others can change their entire body into diamond, I just happen to heal really fast and slice things up,"

"That's convenient," Eda remarked.

"It has its perks," Luz agreed. "but mutants are kind of ostracized. I'm already an outsider because of some weird things I do. My skin color doesn't help. If I were outed as a mutant there, I don't know what I'd do. I gotta keep it under wraps as much as I can, but I tend to get mad easily. Then my claws just pop out and I have to hide it. Mom was going to send me to a school so I can suppress my powers better,"

"Ugh, school," Eda repeated, disgust.

"Oh, here we go," King groaned.

"It's just another word for an institutionalized prison where they chew up anything unique and spit out bland mush." As she said this, they landed outside the Owl House, hopping off the staff. "But I guess I can't stop you from going, though,"

"Well, actually, I was thinking about maybe… staying here," Luz said hesitantly.

"Wait, what?"

"I want to stay and become a witch, just like Azura." Luz pulled out her book while they walked in to show it to Eda.

"What? Okay, now that's crazy. You might be a mutant but you're still human and humans can't become witches,"

"Have any of them ever tried?" Eda opened her mouth, but shut it because she didn't have a good answer. "The thing is, I used my mutation on purpose today. It's the first time I've ever done it. And I felt… free," She remembered her duel with Warden Wrath. She might have been full of rage at the time, but it felt like the first time she'd ever truly let herself be completely herself. "I doubt I could do it again in the Human Realm, especially if I'm supposed to suppress it. And I've always wanted to learn magic. So if you let me stay and teach me to become a witch, I'll do anything you ask,"

"Let her stay!" King demanded. He pulled Eda close, whispering conspiratorially to her. "She can make us snacks," Eda smiled at King's statement.

"Well, I could use some help keeping this goofball out of the cupboards," she said jokingly, picking up King. "And I do want to know anything else you know about mutants. All right, I'll teach you to become a witch. But you have to work for me before I can teach you any spells, got it?" She reached out her hand, intending to seal the deal with a handshake, but Luz pulled her into a bone crushing hug. Literally.

"Ow! Let go, let go, let go!" Eda yelled.

"Oh, sorry, I forgot that I also have super strength," Luz apologized.

"It was too tight," King groaned, rubbing his back.

And that's what changes in the first episode if she has super strength. I've got an idea for the next episode, too, but only if people really want me to write it. If the next one does get written, Vee will also be mentioned.
