Harold Angel was sitting at home, reading some comic books when he overheard his mother.
"Harold! Oh, Harold Angel!" Mrs. Angel called.
"Oh! Here I come, Mom!" Harold Angel called back as he put down his comic, and went to the front door.
"Hey, Mom." said Harold Angel. "So…."
"I've got some news for you." said Mrs. Angel. "You're going to be a big brother!"
"Really?!" cried Harold Angel. "Are you saying….?"
"That's right." Said Mrs. Angel. "I'm going to have another baby."
"I….. I…. I don't believe it!" exclaimed Harold Angel. "I'm gonna be a big brother!"
*Present day…..*
Harold Angel had arrived home from school. He had had a good day at school. Just as he arrived home, there were his parents, and his mother had an enormous belly.
"Harold." said Mrs. Angel. "So glad you could make it. We were just about to leave for the hospital."
"The hospital?!" cried Harold Angel. "You mean….?"
"It's time!" answered Mr. Angel. "Come on, Isabelle. We'd best go."
"Hold on, Kenneth!" said Isabelle. "We haven't told Harold the news yet."
"What news?" asked Harold.
"Harold, dear." said Isabelle. "For as long as we're gone…."
"Is Grandma coming?" asked Harold Angel.
"No. Your grandma isn't coming over." said Kenneth. "You're going to stay at a friend's house."
"A friend's house?" Harold Angel said.
"You'll be staying over at Charlie's house." answered Isabelle.
"For real?" Harold Angel said. "Alright! I get to stay with Sally for a while!"
So Harold Angel went up to his room, packed up some clothes and a sleeping bag, and headed out to the Browns' place.
"This'll be exciting!" said Harold Angel to himself. "My new sibling will be born soon, and I get to stay with my Sweet Butterfly!"
Harold Angel arrived at the Browns' place, and knocked on the door. And who should open the door but Charlie Brown.
"Oh. Hello, Harold." said Charlie Brown.
"Hi, Charlie Brown." said Harold Angel. "Is Sally home?"
"Yes. She is." said Charlie Brown.
"What's going on?" Sally asked as she came downstairs. "Who's at…."
Sally found out soon enough who was at the door.
"Hey! My sweet angel is here!"
"Hi, Sally." said Harold Angel.
"What brings you here?" asked Sally.
"Well," said Harold Angel. "I'm staying over for a while. My mom's in the hospital."
"Really?" said Sally. "How come?"
"You won't believe this," said Harold Angel. "But….. but….."
"Yes?" asked Sally.
"I'm gonna be a big brother soon!" Harold Angel said excitedly.
"A big brother? Wow!" cried Sally.
"I can't wait! I can't wait!"
Charlie Brown decided to kill some time by going to the park.
"I'm going out for a bit." said Charlie Brown.
"Okay, Big Brother." said Sally.
Sally had a thought.
"I know!" Sally decided.
"Get that thought out of your head, Sally!" called Charlie Brown. "You're not moving your stuff into my room!"
"Rats!" groaned Sally. "Go on, Big Brother. Enjoy your fun."
While Charlie Brown left, Sally escorted Harold Angel to her room, and Harold Angel rolled out his sleeping bag, which was green with angels.
"So beautiful!" said Sally.
"Thanks." said Harold Angel. "Say, how's Wally holding up?"
"Didn't I tell you?" asked Sally. "He can speak now!"
"I….. I don't believe it!" exclaimed Harold Angel.
At this moment, Wally waddled up to Sally and Harold Angel.
"Hawy!" Wally said. "Hawold Angew."
"Yes." said Harold. "I am Harold Angel."
"Aw, aren't you the cutest little brother of mine?" Sally said, tickling her little brother.
"Anyway," said Harold Angel. "My parents promised to phone me once my new sibling is born."
"That's wise of them." said Sally. "So, what do you wanna do?"
"Let's go and see Snoopy." said Harold Angel.
So Sally brought Harold Angel outside to see Snoopy.
"Snoopy!" Harold Angel cried.
"Hey!" Snoopy called back.
Snoopy ran up to Harold Angel, and hugged him.
"My sweet angel sure loves my brother's dog." said Sally.
"How I wish I could have a dog like him." Harold Angel sighed.
"Yet, my big brother wants a normal dog." Sally thought.
Harold Angel thought about what to do during his stay with the Browns just as Charlie Brown came home.
"I can feed Snoopy for you, Charlie Brown." said Harold Angel.
"You'll do that for me?" asked Charlie Brown. "Thanks, Harold."
"That's my sweet angel!" said Sally.
Harold Angel overheard Sally, and blushed.
"Well, better feed Snoopy." said Harold Angel.
So Harold Angel got out the dog food, plopped it into the dish, washed it, and brought it out to Snoopy.
"Snoopy! Dinner!" called Harold Angel.
"Oh!" Snoopy cried.
Harold Angel brought the food out, and Snoopy ate the food with no hesitation.
"Good dog, Snoopy." said Harold Angel.
That evening, it was time for the Browns and Harold Angel to go to sleep.
"Goodnight, my sweet butterfly." said Harold Angel.
"Goodnight, my sweet babboo." said Sally, as Harold Angel tucked himself in his sleeping bag.
"Goodnight." Charlie Brown said as he walked over to his bed.
"Oh, I can't wait!" Harold Angel said excitedly.
Soon, Harold Angel went to sleep.
"Hmm….. what could my new sibling be?" Harold Angel wondered.
*Harold Angel's dream*
Harold Angel had entered a room where his mother was cradling a baby in her arms.
"Wow! Is that my new sibling?" Harold Angel asked.
"It sure is." said Isabelle. "Well, one of them."
"One of them?!" asked Harold Angel.
"Yes." said Isabelle.
"So I have 2 siblings now?"
"Nope."
"5?!" exclaimed Harold Angel. "Good grief! I'm a big brother to quintuplets?!"
As Harold Angel looked around, countless babies crawled out of the cupboard, and up to Harold Angel.
"Bwuva!" called one.
"Big bwuva Hawold!" called another.
"I can't believe it! They can already talk?!" Harold Angel exclaimed.
"They're pretty fast learners." said Isabelle.
As Isabelle said this, one took Harold Angel's hat, untied his shoes, broke his trophy, and soiled their own diapers.
"Pee-yu!" groaned Harold Angel as he held his nose. "AAUGH!"
*Back to reality*
"Aaugh!" cried Harold Angel, waking up. "Phew! It was just a bad dream."
"You alright, Sweet Angel?" asked Sally, who'd also woken up.
"Just had a nightmare." said Harold Angel. "About being a brother to like a million babies."
"Like your mom will have that many!" said Sally. "Now go back to sleep, Sweet Angel."
And Sally got out of her bed and kissed Harold Angel's forehead, thus sending him back to sleep.
The next day, the 3 Brown siblings were having breakfast. Harold Angel came down to have his breakfast.
"Morning, Sweet Butterfly." said Harold Angel. "Morning, Wally. Morning, Charlie Brown."
"Hey, Harold." said Charlie Brown.
"Any word from my folks?" asked Harold Angel.
"Not yet." said Sally.
"They didn't call, but if they do, I'll let you know." said Joyce, the Browns' mother. "Anyway, have your breakfast, then it's time for school."
"Okay, Mrs. Brown." said Harold Angel.
After breakfast, the eldest Brown siblings and Harold Angel made it to the bus stop. Already there were Linus, Lucy, Heather, Janice and Lindsey.
"Oh. Hello." said Harold Angel with confidence.
"Hello, Harold Angel." said Linus. "Why in such a good mood?"
"It's a secret." said Harold Angel. "I'll explain when it happens."
As Harold Angel said this, the bus for Sparkyville Middle School pulled up.
"Oh, here's our bus." said Charlie Brown.
"Come on." said Heather.
"See you after school." said Janice.
"Enjoy your day." said Harold Angel. "Now to wait for the bus with my sweet butterfly."
"I know what you're thinking." said Sally. "Any word on what you're getting?"
"No." said Harold Angel. "My parents want to be surprised."
"Oh." said Sally. "I was surprised when Wally was born."
"I heard." said Harold Angel. "I hear Charlie Brown was like that when you were born."
"That's my big brother for you." said Sally.
The school day had finished, and both Sally and Harold Angel were on their way home.
"Enjoy your day, Sally?" asked Harold Angel.
"It was alright, I suppose." said Sally. "You didn't tell anyone about….."
"Not yet." said Harold Angel.
As the two kids got home, there, waiting for them, was Joyce Brown.
"Harold!" said Joyce. "Your father called, and….."
"Yes?" Harold Angel said.
"You're a big brother." Joyce answered.
"Big brother?" Harold Angel said. "Big Brother?!"
"That's right, Harold." said Joyce. "Your mother had a baby girl. She was born at noon."
"I have a sister!" cried Harold Angel excitedly. "I've got a sister!"
Harold Angel ran about the neighbourhood to tell everyone about his becoming a big brother.
"I'm a big brother now!"
Charlie Brown, Heather, Linus, Lucy and Janice were making their way home when Harold Angel ran up.
"Charlie Brown! Heather! Linus! Lucy! Janice! You won't believe this, but….."
"Yes?" Charlie Brown said.
"I'm a big brother!" Harold Angel replied.
"That was me when I became a big brother." said Charlie Brown.
"And me when I became a big sister." Heather added.
"Though I wasn't like that when I became a big sister." Lucy remembered.
"Yet Lindsey didn't act like this when I was born." Janice remembered.
"Say, where is Lindsey anyway?" asked Linus.
"She went ahead of me since I'm going to Heather's for a bit." said Janice.
The next day at school, Harold Angel went up to tell the class what had happened the previous day.
"Yesterday," Harold Angel said. "I just became a big brother."
"Well done, Harold!" called 555.
"Congratulations, Harold." Mimi added.
"How I wish I'd become a big sister myself." Tapioca Pudding began. "If I did, then my sibling could have their face on every piece of merchandise….."
"Yes, Tapioca, thank you." said Miss Cooper.
"I hope this sibling has a suitable name." Lydia said.
"Oh!" Harold Angel realised.
"So, Harold. What's your little sibling's name?" asked Miss Cooper.
"I wasn't told." said Harold Angel. "But the only info I got was that it's a girl."
"A girl!" exclaimed 555. "Well, I myself have little twin sisters."
During gym class, Harold Angel, feeling happy about being a big brother, decided to do all the instructions the gym teacher gave him.
"Wow!" said Harold Angel. "This feels wonderful!"
"Hope you enjoy being a big brother." Said Mimi.
"Thanks, Mimi." said Harold Angel.
"You're bound to be a great big brother." said Russell Anderson. "It's why I voted for Linus when he was elected as class president."
Harold Angel didn't expect that much congratulations.
"Mustn't let it get to my head." said Harold Angel. "You know what happens when you get too stuck up."
Meanwhile, over in Sparkyville Middle School, Charlie Brown explained all about Harold Angel becoming a big brother.
"Wow!" cried Schroeder.
"I hope to become a big brother myself one day." said Tommy.
"Well done to Harold Angel." Scarlet said.
"Siblings!" Emerald scoffed. "Got too many of those."
"That was pretty much me when I myself became a big brother." said Charlie Brown.
"It's too bad I can't become a big sister." sighed Peppermint Patty. "Since I don't have a mother."
"Well….." Marcie said. "If your father gets back in the dating game, Sir, maybe you will become a big sister."
"That's only maybe, Marcie." Peppermint Patty sighed.
"Harold Angel will need luck with his new sibling." said Lucy.
I have no time for babies at my place." said Violet.
"I've got an idea." said Charlie Brown. "Since today is Friday, you can all come to my place."
During lunch, Harold Angel was eating his peanut butter and jelly sandwich when Eudora sat with him.
"Hey, Harold." said Eudora.
"Hi, Eudora." said Harold Angel.
"Congratulations on getting a sister." said Eudora.
"Thanks." said Harold Angel. "For as long as she's in hospital, I'm staying with Sally."
"That's a good idea." said Eudora.
Sally walked over, and was surprised to see Eudora sitting with Harold Angel.
"What are you doing with my boyfriend, Eudora?" asked Sally.
"Just congratulating him on becoming a big brother." said Eudora.
"Oh. That's okay then." said Sally. "Carry on."
Later that day, as the school day was finished, Snoopy held out a box of chocolate logs, remembering that Charlie Brown handed out chocolate cigars when Sally was born.
When Charlie Brown got home, he was surprised to see this, as were his guests.
"Hey, Charlie Brown." said Harold Angel. "I see you brought some friends over."
"Just to congratulate you on becoming a big brother." said Charlie Brown.
"Congratulations, Harold." said Schroeder.
"Thanks, Schroeder." said Harold Angel.
"Too bad Lucy wasn't like this when I was born." sighed Linus.
"My worry was…." Lucy began. "Overpopulation."
"Aw, not to worry." said Harold Angel. "Even some families are aware of that."
"Congrats, Harold." said Pig-Pen.
"Was your sister born at Ace Hospital, Harold Angel?" asked Schroeder.
"No. She wasn't." said Harold Angel. "Why?"
"That's too bad." replied Schroeder. "If she was, she would have received all nine Beethoven symphonies free!"
"Oh, good grief!" sighed Harold Angel.
"Well done, Harold." said Franklin.
"I hear you're like Charlie Brown was when Sally was born." said Shermy.
Snoopy handed Harold Angel the box of chocolate logs, and he handed them out to everyone.
"Thanks, Harold." said Tommy. "I love me some chocolate logs."
"Congrats, Harold." said Patty Swanson.
"I hope your sister grows naturally curly hair." smirked Frieda.
"Oh, good grief! Again with her hair!" sighed Emerald. "Move over, Rita! I need me some chocolate logs!"
Emerald snagged 4 chocolate logs, and ate them all up, not bite by bite, but log by log.
"Good grief!" thought Scarlet, worried about her friend's health.
Sally came to the backyard just then.
"What's going on?" she asked.
"Just congratulating Harold Angel on becoming a big brother." said Linus.
"Isn't that sweet?" Sally swooned. "My former sweet babboo congratulating my current sweet babboo!"
"I'm not your sweet babb….." Linus was about to rap, but then….. "Oh. I see what you mean."
Whilst everyone spent their time congratulating Harold Angel on becoming a big brother, Snoopy went to Woodstock's nest to tell him what was happening. As he got there, he noticed Tammy, the pink bird Woodstock fell for back when Nell visited from Scotland.
"Huh?" Snoopy pondered.
Woodstock and Tammy looked over and were intrigued by their beagle friend.
"Oh ho ho!" Snoopy said with interest.
Woodstock chirped to Snoopy what was going on between him and Tammy, and how they'd been dating.
"Aw…." Snoopy said with love.
Then, Snoopy rejoined the rest of the gang, leaving Woodstock and Tammy alone.
Harold Angel came inside after Joyce called him.
"Hey, Harold." said Joyce. "Your mother called and…."
"Yes?" asked Harold Angel.
"You can visit your sister this evening."
"Really? You mean it?"
"Yes." said Joyce. "And you can bring some friends along."
"Really?" Harold Angel said. "Thanks!"
Harold Angel decided to invite Charlie Brown, Sally, Linus, Janice, Heather, Mary Stewart, Schroeder and Eudora to meet his little sister.
"I'm so glad my sweet angel is taking me to see his little sister." said Sally.
"Anything for my sweet butterfly." said Harold Angel.
"What's her name?" asked Heather.
"I wasn't told." said Harold Angel. "I was told to find out once we arrive."
"Sounds like it'll be a good name." said Mary Stewart.
"Too bad Henry couldn't come." sighed Heather.
"Henry's too little." said Mary. "He's like 4."
"I can't wait to see the name of my little tiny sister." said Harold Angel.
At last, the folks arrived at the hospital. Upon reaching the receptionist, Charlie Brown looked towards Snoopy, dressed as a doctor.
"There goes the World-Famous Doctor." Charlie Brown said.
"Mrs. Isabelle Angel." said Harold Angel.
"She's on Floor 6, Maternity Ward, Room 607." said the receptionist.
"Thanks, Ma'am." said Harold Angel, as he lead the rest of the gang to where his mother was resting.
The kids arrived, knocked on the door.
"Come in." said Isabelle.
The kids went in.
"Hello, Harold." said Isabelle.
"Hey, Mom." said Harold Angel. "And where's my sister?"
"She's right in the bassinet." said Isabelle.
Harold Angel looked over at the bassinet, and inside, wrapped in a pink blanket, was a little baby with a full head of dark brown hair.
"Aw! Is this my sister? She's such a beauty!"
Harold Angel looked at the writing on the label of the bassinet.
"Angela Pippa Angel….."
Harold Angel's sister, Angela, opened her eyes.
"Aw, such cute beady eyes." said Harold Angel.
Everyone else surrounded Angela.
"She's such a beauty." said Heather.
"So cute." added Sally.
"Gorgeous." said Eudora.
"She's so little!" said Janice.
"Mom. You wouldn't mind me holding my little sister, would you?" asked Harold Angel.
"Not at all." said Isabelle, as she got out of the bed and Harold Angel sat on a chair, and placed Angela in her brother's arms.
"Aw, the two sweet angels." swooned Sally.
Harold Angel looked down at his little sister.
"Aren't you the cutest little angel?" Harold Angel said sweetly to his sister.
Angela opened her beady little eyes and looked at her brother.
"I think Angela likes you." said Harold Angel.
Harold Angel just smiled.
"I hope she turns out to be a great little sister." thought Harold Angel.
Then, he turned to his mother.
"Mom. You wouldn't mind if Sally held my sister, would you?"
"Not at all." said Isabelle as she took Angela out of Harold Angel, and in Sally's.
"Aw, aren't you the cutest little one?" Sally smiled.
"Reminds me of when Wally was born." said Charlie Brown.
"And me when Britney was born." said Janice.
Soon, visiting hours were over, and all the kids were making their way home.
"So what do you all think of my little sister?" asked Harold Angel.
"She's so cute." said Sally. "A cute little angel."
"Adorable I have to say." added Janice.
"She sure has a lot of hair." added Eudora.
"Many babies are born like that." said Charlie Brown.
"You're free to stay with me for as long as your mom's in hospital." said Sally.
"Really? Thanks, Sally." said Harold Angel.
The next day, Harold Angel went around the neighbourhood and told everyone all about his little sister.
"What's her name?" asked Russell Anderson.
"Her name is Angela." said Harold Angel.
"Angela Angel." said Mimi. "Sounds like a true angel to me."
"Sounds like a beautiful name." said 3.
"An angelic name as well." added 4.
After Harold Angel had told everyone about his sister, he returned to the Browns' house.
"Did you tell everyone?" asked Sally.
"Yes." said Harold Angel. "They say I'll be a wonderful big brother."
Then, Joyce came up.
"Harold." said Joyce. "Your mother called. She just got home with Angela."
"Wow!" exclaimed Harold Angel. "That was a short stay in the hospital!"
"I know." said Joyce. "Guess the doctors said your sister was in perfect health."
Harold Angel went upstairs to pack everything up, ready to go home.
"Going home already?" asked Sally.
"My sister is home now." said Harold Angel. "So that means my parents are home now."
"Well," said Sally. "Come over anytime."
"Any you, my sweet butterfly, are welcome at my place too." Harold Angel replied.
As Harold Angel was making his way out the door, there, waiting for him, was Charlie Brown.
"Going home already, Harold Angel?" asked Charlie Brown.
"I sure am." said Harold Angel. "Mom's home, and so is my sister."
"Hope you had fun with us." said Charlie Brown.
"I sure did, Charlie Brown." said Harold Angel.
Sally came down to see Harold Angel off. Then, she hugged him.
"Goodbye, my Sweet Angel." said Sally. "I hope you have fun with your little sister."
"Thanks, Sally." said Harold Angel. "Come visit us anytime."
"Anything for my sweet angel." said Sally.
Then Sally kissed Harold Angel's left cheek.
Unbeknownst to either of them, Heather Wold was watching from across the street.
"Looks like Sally's found her Little Red-Haired Boy." Heather thought to herself.
As Heather thought this, Henry waddled up to her.
"What is it, Big Sistaw?" asked Henry.
"More love across the street." Heather smirked.
Harold Angel, now a big brother, agreed to do anything to care about Angela. Well, except changing diapers, he'd leave that to his parents. Harold Angel agreed to take Angela out for strolls when the weather was fine.
The next day was a Sunday, and Harold Angel agreed to bring his sister to church.
"This is it, Angela." Harold Angel said. "Your first day at church."
When the two Angel siblings got there, they were most surprised to see Sally, up on the podium, singing a hymn.
"Beautiful!" Harold Angel said. "She sings so beautifully!"
Harold Angel decided to take his seat with his parents, while passing his sister to their mother. All Harold Angel could do was listen in aw to Sally singing the hymn, until….
"Hockey Stick!" Sally called.
Everyone was confused at this, only for Harold Angel to chuckle.
That afternoon, as church had finished, Harold Angel decided to take Angela in her stroller for a nice walk. There, walking past, were Charlie Brown and Sally.
"Oh. Hi, Charlie Brown. Hi, Sally." said Harold Angel.
"Taking your sister for a stroll, I see." said Charlie Brown. "That was what I used to do with Sally when she was a baby."
"Did you like my hymn, Sweet Angel?" asked Sally.
"Did I ever." Smiled Harold Angel.
"Thanks, Sweet Angel." said Sally.
Sally wrapped her arms around Harold Angel, whilst Angela looked up at her brother, confused as to why Sally was hugging him.
"Sally calls your brother her sweet angel." Charlie Brown whispered to Angela.
