2: Bow Etiquette
O.O.O
Prompt: Red Ribbon. Aino Miwako=Aino Minako Jr. from Parallel Sailor Moon.
O.O.O
"I'll wear the red ribbon," Ceres proclaimed.
"But mommy wears the gold bow during formal occasions," Miwako reminded her sister. "This isn't really a formal occasion."
"But I wear yellow everyday," CereCere pointed out as she looked at all the ribbons and bows in front of her. "It's not special enough."
"Girls, I don't think it matters," Kunzite began, clearing his throat. After getting himself ready for dinner, Minako had suggested he help the girls to finish their own preparations. "I'm sure whatever you pick will look beautiful.
CereCere and Miwako turned and looked at their father as if he had a third arm growing out of his chest.
"Father you must be joking," CereCere scoffed at her father's suggestion. "Bows and ribbons and their symbolism is an essential part of fashion. Not to mention the historical significance they have held over centuries."
"Where did you hear that?" Kunzite asked, already knowing the answer.
"Mommy taught us," Miwako mused with a side smile. "She said what type of bow and placement is essential.."
"A bow on a maiden's head sends a message. CereCere added. "Proper placement in the hair can convey status in court as well as if the maiden is welcoming suitors or not."
"Dinner is just the monthly extended family meal all of us have with the royal family," Kunzite reminded them trying to stay on track. "Besides, neither of you need to worry about suitors. You are never dating."
"Which is why proper selection of a bow is essential," CereCere insisted, turning to admire all the different bows on her makeup table. "We need to wear bows that convey we are off the market and not able to receive suitors."
"Fine," Kunzite relented, trying to keep the girls on track. "Wear black."
"Black is for mourning," Miwako disagreed. "It only works when you wear all black which turns from mourning to a fashion statement."
"Alright, gray," Kunzite grumbled, trying to retake control of the conversation.
"Grey actually means you're expecting," CereCere informed her dad. "Or attempting to become pregnant with your partner."
"Pink?" Kunzite grunted through gritted teeth. "Is pink acceptable but doesn't broadcast I'm trying to marry you off?"
"PInk…would be perfect," CereCere announced. "And it looks so good with our dresses."
"Fantastic," Kunzite breathed out, "Then wear pink."
"We can't," Miwako chimed in.
"Why?" Kunzite asked as his entire body tensed up.
"Our pink ribbons are at the dry cleaners," CereCere clarified. Kunzite could feel a vein throwing on the side of his template and began to rub it.
"How's it coming girls?" Minako asked as she entered the room, ready for dinner.
"Mom, we don't know what bows to wear," Miwako whined, with her little fists clenched tightly. She looked as if the decision for what bow to wear was the most important she'd made in her entire young life.
"That's not a problem," Minako chimed in as she pulled a small box from behind her back. "I got us a matching set of golden bows to wear."
As the girls cheered, Kunzite gave his wife a firm stare. "Why didn't you tell me you planned on them wearing bows you were going to provide?"
"And ruin the surprise?" Minako chuckled as she smiled at her husband. It was hard to miss the frustration radiating off him. Minako knew their daughters had a way of pushing their buttons. They took after her so well. "Besides I thought you could use a lesson in bow etiquette.
Kunzite took a deep breath and released it. When he had taken a moment to compose himself he watched as his beloved wife worked to help get their two precious daughters ready for dinner. Sure they outnumbered him and they were a handful but frankly he wouldn't have it any other way.
O.O.O
A/N: 2 down, 5 to go. Finally I have a story where CereCere is shown to be the daughter of Minako and Kunzite. Much like in my story, Miwako's Bedtime Story, both Miwako and CereCere take after Minako. This means Kunzite now has three girls who have a way of pushing his buttons but he loves them with all his heart.
Reviews are love and they keep me going.
