Optimus sat there patiently waiting as Ratchet finished up with the new bot and Lancex left. Thankfully for Optimus, he only silently sighed as Lance left the med bay. Ratchet didn't hear the sigh but he saw that the Prime appeared off, though that could have been from the fight at this point. Optimus was glad that he managed to hand Lancex's sword back to the bot just before he left. "Nope it is your turn to be examined" Ratchet said to Optimus, who merely nodded for now. Optimus hadn't seen or heard that Bulkhead and Wheeljack had come to the med bay and offer Lancex a tour around the base, as Optimus was a bit lost in his own world.
Ratchet scanned over the Prime and while the medic found lots of expected results such as the matrix of leadership and the wounds, which Ratchet made quick work of. Ratchet also found a few unexpected results, like Optimus' spark was acting off. Ratchet scanned further and found that The prime's spark had recently reacted to another bot in a way Optimus' spark hadn't responded in a very, very long time.
Meanwhile, outside the med bay, Bulkhead and Wheeljack enjoyed taking Lancex to see all the sights around the base and meet all the bots and humans in the base. Lancex found Jack and Rafael okay but Agent Fowler and Miko annoyed the new bot. Lancex made note to keep clear of those two. While they walked around, Bulkhead and Jack tried to flirt with Lancex, but being the dense yet focused bot that he was, Lancex had no clue.
Meanwhile, realizing what he had discovered, Ratchet felt like he knew what was going on. "Well, you are all patched up, Prime" Ratchet stated.
"Thank you old friend, but where did Lancex go?" Optimus asked
"Wheeljack and Bulkhead came a picked him up to take a tour around the base" Ratchet replied honestly, having no idea how that piece of information would cause the Prime to react.
Optimus appeared less than pleased to learn that. Ratchet secretly scanned the Prime and found that Optimus' spark had reacted to Ratchet talking about Lancex being with the other bots. It appeared that the green eyed monster was coming forth in the medic's old friend. Of course, Ratchet being Ratchet, he knew he would have to tease his old friend about this. "Interesting" Ratchet mentioned casually.
"What's interesting?" Optimus queried, shooting a look at the medic.
"Judging by the reaction in your spark, you seem to be highly interested in the new bot" Ratchet replied, playing to coolly. Optimus blushed but also shot a dirty look at the medic. Ratchet ignored the look. "Oh, come off it, Optimus. I've known you for a long time. If you are so interested, go after Lancex."
"First off, we have a mission we must complete. He is merely a new soldier in our troop. Secondly, he just arrived here. What makes you think he wants a bot?" Optimus replied.
"Optimus, I think you deserve to be happy… for once" Ratchet replied.
"I'll be happy when the war is over old friend" Optimus stated.
"But you deserve more happiness than just that" Ratchet answered. Optimus sighed and just thought. Did he really want that? Did he deserve that after all that had happened? Only time would tell.
