The hot chocolate tasted good and being at the table led to a discussion. "First off, I am not sure if I am happy about you following me here, it is dangerous and you don't know the half of it" Lancex started off with. Optimus and a Predaking had the grace to look remorseful. "Secondly, I am going to ask you a question, and I want an honest answer. Is it true what Miko said of you two? Do you really have feelings for me?"
Optimus coughed to clear his throat before answering. "First off, Slugbug came to us, concerned about you returning here. That is partly why we came. The second part" Optimus started with, "was that we do in fact have feelings for you." Predaking nodded to what Optimus had said.
Lancex was stunned beyond belief. "O…Kay. But, I am nothing special. Why me?" Lancex asked, somewhat innocently.
Optimus was the first to respond. "Lancex, ever since I met you and you saved me from the cons, my spark has reacted to you. I tried so hard to fight it, but the more I fight it, the more I see you lift my spirit and can easily help us end the war with the cons." Lancex blushed as he realized that Optimus did have genuine feelings for the bot.
Predaking then added his piece, as Lancex looked to him to answer the question. "Lancex, ever since I met you, I have felt something for you. You revealed a truth to me that I didn't know and actually saved me as well. I have never had a mate before, but you are one I love and cherish."
Lancex blushed, as he wasn't expecting this, but he feared it might be due to his princely status, not remembering they k ew nothing of that. "But why me? I am nothing special and I don't have anything to offer. I am also not worthy of being a mate to bots of such standing."
While Optimus and Predaking were stunned by the lack of confidence Lancex showed in himself, Optimus was the first to speak. "Lancex, I can understand how you feel in that sense. For most of the time that my spark has been reacting to being around you, I fought it by trying to believe a bot like you wouldn't want a bot like me, an old war horse who has seen too much devastation. I thought you would go for someone younger. But when I finally stopped lying to myself, I realized what you meant to me. I fell for you because you are a caring, kind bot who is quite capable of taking care of yourself and protecting all those you hold dear." Lancex was stunned to hear that. It was way more than he expected. Now all Lancex wanted to know was what Predaking thought.
