As Lancex headed out for the chocobo ranch, Optimus and Predaking studied the scenery out the windows, each surprised by how beautiful this place seemed to appear during the day time. Both were aware, though, that looks could be deceiving.
After about half an hour, they reached the chocobo ranch. This world was strange to Optimus and Predaking, but they felt better being with Lancex who knew this world inside and out, seemingly. Lancex soon parked the car. The three got out and Optimus and Predaking followed Lancex as he went to meet the rancher. The rancher was pleased to see Lancex and greeted him. Lancex greeted the rancher and soon the three headed onto the ranch. Lancex went with the rancher to help him while Optimus and Predaking were encouraged to check out the ranch.
As the pair wandered, a familiar yet strange sound drew them to an area. Upon reaching the area, they both saw something strange. The thing looked like a white feathered earth chicken with two major differences – there was some metal on it and the thing was the size of an earth horse if not bigger. Optimus and Predaking attempted to touch the thing but it pecked at them.
Having finished his task, Lancex couldn't help but laugh at the pair. "I see you met silver" Lancex piped up, announcing his presence.
"Silver?" Predaking asked.
"What type of being is this?" Optimus asked, a bit confused but very curious.
"This is a chocobo" Lancex explained. Predaking and Optimus nodded, neither mentioning about the earth chicken comparison. Lancex offered to help Optimus and Predaking feed the oversized bird. And as they fed it, they found that the bird felt very soft with soft feathers except in the areas where metal covered. Optimus was amazed at this while Predaking was not quite as interested. Both enjoyed learning more about Lancex and his world, though.
After finishing with feeding the chocobo, Lancex led Optimus and Predaking back to the rancher as things were not over just yet. Their was some monster/ demon hunting to complete. Lancex asked about it and was told about the dead eye den, which caused Lancex to sigh. This was not going to be easy, but when Optimus and Predaking assured Lancex that they would help with everything they had, Lancex smiled. Now, it was time to complete this mission – together.
