Like any couple who have been together for five years, Ben and Mal also fought, but not over a mysterious spell book. Ben couldn't accept that Mal continued to keep him out of his problems, the young king knew he had more secrets than the spell book, though he had no idea what they were.
In the meantime, Mal couldn't believe that her fiancé, the love of her whole life doubted her. Everyone could be suspicious, but not Ben. About the secrets, maybe he was right, but Mal couldn't understand why she had to tell him about it.
Mal felt so angry at Ben, at the reporters and at the whole situation. An anger that grew inside her and she could feel its magic running through every vein in her body as if it was going to burst. A thought occurred to her, she needed to get out of Auradon and go to the Isle. She remembered that Marlin had said that her magic always went into overload when unused and it had been months since she had done at least one spell. The Isle had no magic, going there could hold that energy. Without much thought he disappeared without explanation.
"What have you done?"
Grimhilde's daughter entered the king's office very angry with him.
"What?"
Despite the fight, he went on with his normal events.
"What is your problem Ben? How can you doubt Mal?"
Evie was so angry with him, you could see it in her eyes.
"Is that what she told you?"
"No, she didn't tell me, but I know."
"Evie, I didn't doubt Mal, we had a fight, because I can't stand Mal hiding things from me anymore."
"And that's why you yelled at her? When she needed you the most?"
"Look..."
"Ben, I know you like honesty, but we grew up differently. We never had to explain ourselves to anyone and Mal knows that better than anyone, she never had to be honest about anything until she came to Auradon and you came into her life."
Evie told what she thought was obvious to the king.
"You're right, I am stressed, about everything."
Already guilty he tried to justify himself.
"Mal is too, it hasn't been easy to cope with the wedding stuff on her own."
"I need to talk to her, do you know where she is?"
"She texted that she was going out and didn't know what time she'd be back."
"Evie, I need you to help me with something."

Isle of the Lost
Despite avoiding using her magic, Mal had managed to perfect it, and because of that, she was able to teleport into the Island. She only had to step on the island to feel her magic return and calm down in her body. The Isle has changed a lot over the years, those who now inhabit here are the old villains, their children or grandchildren are now in Auradon. But truth be told, Mal didn't just want to control her powers, she wanted to see an old familiar.
"Evil Queen."
She gave a shout as she entered the old house where the queen lived.
"Who is it?"
A woman much older than Mal remembered appeared, she might love beauty, but apparently not even the most beautiful of them could resist the power of time.
"It's me, Mal."
"Lady Mal? Did Evie come too?"
A smile appeared on her face as she asked about her daughter.
"No, I came alone."
"How is she? And my grandson?"
"She's fine and so is Tommy, he looks lovely."
"A little prince, he doesn't even look like the son of a dwarf."
"Evie loves Doug."
"I know, but she deserved better."
"You should try talking to her, Evie loves you very much."
"And I love her more."
It might be hard to believe, but apparently even Snow White's stepmother deep down was a good person and loved her daughter and grandson.
"I'll try to talk to her for you."
"But what brings you here? I don't think you came here to discuss my relationship with my daughter."
"No, I didn't come here for that. Queen, I was reading old papers and I sort of found this picture."
"Let me see it." The woman put on her reading glasses and took the photo in her hands. "Wow, this is a really old picture."
"Yeah, I know it's you and Mom, but who's the other woman?"
Grimhilde was startled by the photo and Lady's question.
"Agatha, a friend of your mother's."
"My mother had friends?"
"To achieve her purposes, yes."
She laughed remembering the woman who was now nothing more than a lizard.
"How did they meet?"
"Agatha helped your mother make that book she passed on to you."
"Who is this Agatha?"
"Why so curious?"
"It may sound strange, but this woman has been appearing in everything in front of me, but there's nothing about her in Auradon, it's like she's disappeared."
Mal was honest with her.
"They would comply with what they talked about."
The Queen assumed.
"They?"
"Sit down for a while, if this story interests you so much, I'll tell you from the beginning." The woman knew it would be a long story. She sat down facing the girl and thought about how to start the conversation. "A time before King Beast took the throne and unified everything, all the kingdoms were in chaos, your mother, me, Jafar, Ursula and all the villains tormented a different kingdom, good times those. Anyway, everyone who now lives on the Island was loose, including Agatha. Agatha was a witch, daughter of one of the greatest witches that ever lived, she knew spells like no one else, but she also had power inside her, but she wasn't like me or her mother, she didn't want revenge. She lived in a cabin in the woods, could be powerful, but she only used her power when necessary and believe me when she did everyone suffered consequences."
"What do you mean?"
"Your mother said she was a short fuse, just provoke and that was it, war was certain. I think she was insane, at the same time she wanted to be good, she wanted to destroy kingdoms, one time she managed to haunt Neverland for no reason, just because she wanted to. One of Agatha's greatest powers was to incite people. It was her mother who introduced me to her and we became very good friends, my book was hers, most of the spells in my book came from her. The photo was taken in front of her house, in our glory days. When the wars started, each kingdom against its villain, King Harrison, the king of Origon organized a huge witch hunt throughout his kingdom and especially in the Enchanted Forest, where it was the land of magic. Every villain who needed magic went there, because magic was born there."
"Is Queen Tulip from that kingdom, Origon?"
"Queen Tulip? Impossible, Origon was extinct."
And so, Mal was learning that there was something very wrong going on.
"How?"
"As I told you the story is long. King Harry, he was the kindest and most warlike king that ever lived. He went to the Enchanted Forest to understand how he could end all the chaos, but then he met Agatha. We always believed that he just appeared in the dark woods and met her there. He didn't know Agatha was a villain, he just fell in love with her as soon as saw her, she didn't know it was love, but the witch fell in love."
FLASHBACK
"Do you know which way the fairy house is?"
The handsome blue-eyed king asked feeling lost walking in the forest. As soon as he laid eyes on Agatha he didn't notice that everything about her showed that she was a witch.
"It's quite far from there, you'll have to go back a few miles."
Usually, she didn't answer and if it was someone else she would get a gift spell right then and there, but he really seemed lost and she didn't want to do him wrong.
"Pleased to meet you miss, I'm Harry."
"Just say hi.
"Well, I think I'm done with my first impression."
"Wouldn't that be King Harry?"
He asked pointing to the crown.
"Being king doesn't make who I am."
She smiled. It had been a while since she had smiled.

"There love was born, Harry loved Agatha even though she was a witch, because he saw goodness in her and in the same way she, Agatha loved him, even though she was royalty. They kept their romance a secret, but he didn't want that, he wanted Agatha as his queen and his wife, so he asked her to marry him. As crazy as it sounds, she accepted, Agatha was someone else around him, she loved him with madness. It seemed abnormal, yet a villain fell in love and all she wanted was her happily ever after. However, when they went public with their relationship, no one accepted it.
"Why?"
It seemed crazy, but Mal remembered her and Ben. A villain's daughter who fell in love with a prince.
"There's an order in the midst of so much chaos, villains hate good and the reverse happens, it's always been like that, good versus evil. When we saw the threat of that changing, the two poles saw it wouldn't work. Her mother tried to talk to Agatha and convince her that she shouldn't marry and the Council tried to tell the King that it was madness, but they wouldn't listen. The Council were the rulers of the kingdoms and would not allow each kingdom to do what they wanted, they could not accept that. A while later Harrison went to war and ended up dying, even if they never assume it, we knew his death was not an accident. As soon as the news of his death reached the kingdom, they didn't think twice and blamed Agatha for his death. They condemned her and executed her, but first she swore revenge, swore that she would get even with everyone who prevented her happy ending. She cast a spell and after that they erased everything that referred to her or the king."
"But why didn't they just throw her on the island?"
"Not even the barrier would hold her, they knew that. Killing her was the best thing, make no mistake Mal, people aren't completely good."
"What was her curse?"
"Maleficent went to her house and found a piece of paper and obviously her mother did what she was supposed to, she cast the spell, "When the next heart finds a home and the day and night together come and I will do what has been prevented, I will fulfill what has been promised". We don't know when, but that promise will be kept."
