Auradon

A new day began and with-it new discoveries and problems. If in the secret world of the fairies all Ben and Mal did was sleep, in Auradon Agatha and Chad had a very lively evening. She had been dead for more than two decades, she needed to cheer up, even if it was with Chad Charming.

"Now I understand why Ben prefers a villain." Chad said, looking up at the ceiling while Agatha was getting herself together again. "Hey, where are they?"

"Who?"

"Ben and the others."

"Underground, but since I haven't been there since I arrested them and so far I haven't brought them any food or water, they must have died, I think."

She spoke.

"What? Did you kill the king?"

He shouldn't have been surprised at what she was capable of.

"Chad, haven't you realized that a new time has come in Auradon?"

She said, giving the boy a quick kiss and leaving.

"She must have destroyed it to practice magic."

Rashid told Clarion.

In the morning he had gone to meet the queen to take the report of Mal's trip to the first master. The queen was currently updating him on the damage done by Agatha to Audrey's kingdom.

"She's done a lot of damage."

Helena said. Clarion had invited her to the meeting.

"She's not fully powered up yet, she hasn't destroyed the whole city."

Clarion replied, showing them some photos taken by one of his fairies.

"I did think none fairies went up to the human world."

He spoke to the queen, while looking at one of the photographs.

"These are new times, dangerous times for all of us."

The queen said, making clear her fear for the worst.

"She must be planning to destroy other kingdoms."

"But which one? There are so many..."

"Camelot!"

Rashid said out loud when he had this flash of insight into her next destination.

"What?"

Clarion asked, not understanding his reasoning.

"Merlin."

Helena said having the same thought as Rashid.

"Camelot is one of the oldest and most magical kingdoms we have, if she plans to destroy a place, it's there."

"But she's still weak, destroying two kingdoms in two days is almost impossible."

The queen reminded them.

"That's why Merlin, he already knows her magic." Helena also reminded them. "Merlin is the only one besides us who has met her and knows the extent of her powers. He knows better than anyone how to expand them."

"He's one of the masters."

The queen recalled in distress.

"We need to go there now."

Rashid said worriedly.

"But Mal needs to rest."

Helena reminded them.

"Helena's right, Rashid, Mal needs to rest, but if you don't go now, you run the risk of Agatha destroying Camelot and Merlin."

Queen Clarion said, believing it was better to listen to Rashid.

"I'll call the others."

Rashid evaporated from the scene.

They were all having breakfast, laughing and telling each other about their "trip" to Neverland. For a moment it seemed just like before, Mal with his head resting on Ben, Lonnie and Jay hugging and Jane sitting next to Carlos as if they were fifteen.

"Did you threaten a child?"

Ben asked frightened.

"They had spears."

Mal defended himself.

"They were children."

Evie said, while feeding her son.

"They had swords."

"Give it up, in Mal's head it makes sense."

Carlos said, making everyone laugh.

"And we thought her magic was good." Jay said, eating another typical fairy fruit. "Seriously, we need to take these things to Auradon." Without realizing it, Jay mentioned Auradon, which automatically made most people's countenances change to sadness. "Sorry."

"So, Mal, what exactly happened to your magic?"

Doug asked, curious and changing the subject.

"In nerd terms I can't explain it to you, but I know that I've been feeling better than ever before and that now my magic turns purple. Which is pretty cool."

The future queen said excitedly.

"Basically, Mal has magic because she's half fairy and she's the daughter of you know who. She needed to have a reason to keep the magic inside her, a reason that didn't have to do with any genetic factor, Tinkerbell did that. Like a cleansing of her magic."

Evie explained what was obvious only to her.

"And what did she show you that made you glow in a very evil way?"

Carlos asked, remembering the scene.

"Nothing much, I mean I don't really remember."

She lied to them. She didn't want to talk about his past.

"We need to talk to you."

Rashid interrupted their peaceful moment. The wizard explained the whole situation to them.

"Okay then, let's go."

Mal stood up, even if he didn't have the strength to do so.

"Hey, didn't she need to rest?"

Ben asked Rashid.

"Yes, but we're afraid there won't be time, we don't know when Agatha will go there."

"That's fine with me, I just need to change."

Jay warned them.

"Clarion, Helena and I are trying to communicate with Merlin and we're also going to make another teleportation potion, we'll leave in two hours."

"Okay."

Mal agreed.

"Mal, this time we're staying much longer than a day."

Rashid said, but she was looking intently at Ben who was already frowning as Mal left again.

(...)

"Hey, can I come in?"

She would be leaving in an hour and went to her husband's room to talk to him.

"Sure." He took his eyes off the book he was reading and gave her a big smile as he entered. "I was reading this interesting book about fairies." He showed her the cover as he sat down next to her on the bed. "There are pages about your mother."

"Really?"

She showed interest and then took the book from him.

"Yes, it talks about "the most powerful fairy, despite her eccentric beauty, her long horns drew everyone's attention..."

"It's hard to see my mom as a fairy, to me she's the super villain who put an entire kingdom to sleep, you know?"

"She had her reasons, look Agatha, she's only like this because the love of her life was killed."

"Only? I kind of understand her, I mean, I wouldn't kill people, but I think I'd be devastated if I lost you."

She confessed, running her hands over his face.

"Me too."

"But I didn't come here for declarations, I'm leaving in an hour."

"I know."

Ben hated remembering that.

"And Evie's not going this time."

"No? Why?"

"Tommy's a bit feverish and she doesn't want to leave him alone."

"I'm sorry, I know how important it is for you to have her around.."

"Yeah, but then there'd be one seat left and since I now have to look after a certain king so he doesn't run away." She said, wrapping her arms around his neck. "And since we're going to be gone longer, there might be a remote possibility that I'd want to visit Camelot and I'd need a guide for that." Ben laughed, knowing what she wanted. "Will you come with me?"

He gave her the most beautiful smile, taking the opportunity to give her a kiss.

"It really has been a long time since I've seen King Arthur."

(...)

"Okay, I've told Arthur and explained the situation, you can go now."

Adam appeared and spoke to Rashid and the others.

"Merlin has also already received a warning to put a protection spell on the kingdom."

Helena warned them about the phone call she had made.

"We have to fight against time now."
