Mal and Rashid were in the White Queen's garden when the girl felt a terrible pain in her chest and had to stop walking.

"Mal, what's up?"

Rashid went over to her, trying to check if everything was all right.

"Call... call... ask... the guys."

She said between several attempts to breathe normally. It took Rashid a while, but he understood that she needed to get news from the fairy kingdom.

"Okay." He teleported into the bedroom, leaving Mal still kneeling in pain. But he was back in seconds. "No one answers the calls and Clarion is out of my magic range."

"We need to get back."

She said, trying to get up.

"You can't."

"What? Nobody's the boss of me."

"Hey, listen to me, if something had happened I'm sure they would have come running to warn you. And I honestly think the Fairy Queen and Helena have enough power to take care of whatever it is, besides Agatha can't enter the kingdom if that's what you're worried about."

"I..."

She was about to argue against it, but was interrupted.

"If you insist, I'll be forced to do something I really don't want to do."

"Seriously, Rashid, you don't..."

She laughed at the possibility of him doing anything against her, but was surprised when she was hit by a blow that sent her crashing to the ground.

"What did it say? Battle stance, Maleficent."

"You know that's not my name."

If it was anger he wanted to cause her, he was succeeding.

"Really? You look like her, although she knew how to use magic and..."

She threw a strong spell in his direction, returning the blow.

"Don't compare me to her again."

"Okay, let's make it interesting.Déformez la vision et voyez vos peurs au même endroit. Seulement vous regardez le pire des scénarios."

He recited a spell in French, one of the things he had learned from some magicians.

*Distort your vision and see your fears in the same place. Only you are looking at the worst possible scenario.

"French? Really, Rachid?" Mal rebutted before receiving a pewter dusting in his eyes. "What the shit, Rashid?" She asked, trying to clear her eyes of the dust that seemed to have gotten inside them.

"Open your eyes and tell me what you see?"

As he opened his intense green eyes, what he saw had nothing to do with the garden of seconds before.

"What kind of joke is that, Rashid?"

It was not often that Mal found himself afraid of something and as he looked at where he was, his heartbeat quickened.

"What do you see? Where are you?"

"Island, on Uma's ship..." His eyes searched for more information to say, but his fear was greater. It wasn't just the pirate ship, it was worse than that. Ben was tied up and about to be thrown off the plank, Evie and the boys with swords around their necks and... their parents? It was the Vk's parents threatening them with guns. "What spell is that?"

"It makes you see your worst fears in a worse place."

"So, we're back years ago, on Uma's ship?"

"Why does a ship make you afraid?"

"It's not the ship, it's the situation or part of it. Ben was almost dying, but now it's worse. He's one step away from being thrown overboard, why are Evie, Jay and Carlos being threatened by their parents?"

"It scares you to see them in danger."

"Yeah, my friends being threatened and..." Before he could finish his sentence, he saw his mother in the shape of a huge dragon. "You always impress me, Rashid."

"Ready?"

"For Cruella, the Evil Queen, Jafar, Uma or a giant dragon?"

"Don't worry, they won't do you any harm, they're just part of the scenery, I mean, ask yourself if you're prepared to face me."

"Are you serious?"

"Do you really think Maleficent would go this long without throwing even a fireball? Unlike me."

Again, he attacked her

"You've got to stop doing that."

"Funny, I haven't even started..."

Three hours later Mal didn't even want to get up from the floor anymore. Her back, arms, neck and every other part of her body ached, thanks to Rashid's incessant blows

"Okay, you win."

"Seriously, girl, I haven't even started."

"Whether you started or not, it's over now."

"Get up."

He used good old-fashioned magic and brought her to her feet.

"No, Rashid, I can't, okay? I'm bruised, tired and in pain, I'm not sixteen anymore."

"And not even fifty years old, Mal. Take your position, this is a battle and believe me, I don't have a third of Agatha's magic."

"No way."

"So, you really are as weak as your mother used to say?

"Shut up."

"The daughter of the most evil fairy isn't capable of leaving a scratch on a guy who doesn't even have a history."

"If only she'd stop disappearing."

"Everyone has their tricks."

"Enough, okay? You're my friend, give me the magic and that's that."

"I hate you Mal."

He whispered before transforming and taking on his original appearance. The strange creature.

"Oh, man! What is that?"

"Certainly not your friend."

"Rashid, I'm serious, stop."

"Attack me!"

"What? No!"

He pointed at the then-frozen Harry Hook who had the king pinned to the board and unfroze him, making Mal watch Ben fall into the water helplessly.

"If you don't want to see what Cruella can do to her own son, you'd better attack me."

Mal was stunned by this, but his bright green eyes spoke for themselves.

"That's not funny."

A blow to his left arm made his anger boil over, but not enough to finish him off.

"It's not about anger, it's about control."

"Isn't that what you wanted?"

There was literally smoke coming out of her nostrils."

"You're not going to attack me using anger, calm down."

"Try." He was about to disappear, but was stopped. She grabbed his neck and squeezed it tightly. "You're not going to hurt my friends."

"Do you doubt it?"

And so, he snapped his fingers and Jay's arm was severed

"What's the matter with you? You have no idea, do you?"

Rashid didn't know how strong Mal was, especially when she grabbed him by the arm and threw him away.

"Wow, I love that one, if I do something to Evie what will happen?"

"Make sure you don't need that cat moustache..."

Half an hour later it seemed that her eyes had that color naturally and Rashid was perhaps a little sorry for provoking her anger.

"défaire." He said, ending the magic and returning to the garden. "It's over Mal."

"What?"

"We'll be back, you can get rid of the internal hatred there."

Rashid said, throwing himself down on the grass.

"Don't ever tease me again."

"Keep that anger up and Agatha will be gone."

He coughed.

"I'll remember that. Home?"

"Of course."

(...)

The fairy kingdom wasn't exactly home, but they liked it there. At night they were getting ready to leave and the old cat remembered what he had to do.

"Mal?" He went towards her room and after much thought prepared himself for what he was going to say to her. "How's your forehead?"

"It's healed, being part fairy really helps. Everything okay?"

In the short time she had been living with him, she had noticed the different types of countenances he presented when he was worried.

"No, but it will be."

"Bad news, isn't it?"

"Mal, now I'm going to tell you something that only two people know the truth about, Clarion and Helena."

"I don't like this."

"I was one of the people responsible for Agatha and Harry's love."

"What? I didn't quite understand."

Worried and feeling a spark of anger, she tried not to attack him.

"Let me tell you everything, then you can judge me. If I knew it was her, I swear I'd be against it." He became apprehensive just remembering the meetings between the two he had always supported. "When he came to us from the council and said it was Agatha I wanted to be in favor. Mal, I swear to you, I wanted to say that I didn't see a problem, but it was Agatha. After a while I heard about all the bad things she'd been doing, but Harry had already decided to marry her." His breathing was labored and he was exploding. "Helena, Colbi, Cirse and Demetrius had the idea of killing him in combat."

"Rashi..."

She couldn't believe he was capable of it

"I couldn't do that to him. Harry was good, he would never hurt anyone, he thought of everyone, he loved the kingdom, he had no idea what Agatha was capable of. So, on the night of the war, when the soldier was going to kill him, I showed up. I disappeared with him from there"

"What?"

Even though she was used to big twists and turns, Mal hadn't expected this.

"I took him from the battlefield and disappeared."

Flashback

"You'll hate me, but I don't want you to die."

The cat man took the king in his arms and carried him to a hiding place

"Rashid? Is that you?"

The white-haired creature with red eyes, a coat and a pocket watch was startled to see the man who had been missing for years.

"Hi Rabbit, I know you hate me, but I need a favor."

"Favor? I don't think you have that right, young man."

"Just listen to me, this man is hurt and he's a good guy, just take care of him and keep him safe."

"If he lives, right? He's hurt too much."

"Please try. "

He begged the White Rabbit.

"Fine."

As controversial as his presence there was, Alice's friend would not deny help to one in need.

"You're going to hate me for this, Harry, but it's what's best for you "Disparaître comme um brouillard, ne vous souvenez plus de votre passé, tout est dans le sentiment, vos souvenirs n'existent plus sans mon consentement"

Another great spell.

"Disappear like a fog, don't remember your past, everything is in the feeling, your memories no longer exist without my consent"

"When I got back to the kingdom they already thought he was dead and Agatha had already started killing everyone."

"Wait... Harry's alive?"

Mal asked, unable to believe that the information was real.
