Day 1: Your Typical Owl House Morning
Barely able to keep her giggles at bay, Luz tip-toed into her witch mother's room. Once she crossed the threshold, the "knocked-down" human ran at full speed and jumped.
"Mowning, Mommy Edy!" Luz screamed as she landed in an empty nest.
Luz was confused; she knew her witch mother would usually be sleeping now. So where was Eda?
The human witch got her answer a second later. She gasped as she grabbed and was taken out of the nest. She was turned around and came face-to-face with a 14-year-old Eda Clawthorne.
"Mommy Edy?" Luz gasped.
"Surprised, kiddo?" the "knocked-down" witch asked warmly.
Luz nodded and then reached out her arms. Eda brought Luz close when she saw her daughter's fingers twitching. Luz gently touched her witch mother's face.
"Pwetty," the human gasped softly.
Eda smiled warmly and moved to her nest. She gently lay down and hugged her human daughter close. Luz giggled when Eda's hair tickled her, and Eda's smile grew.
"And you're fang-rotting cute no matter what age I am," Eda replied warmly and looked around. "Now, where's that brother of yours? Unless it's school or some isles' ending thing, you two are joined at the hips."
Eda got her answer when King appeared out of nowhere and jumped. She didn't have time to react, and the "Knocked-down" titan came down on her stomach. Eda let out a grunt that turned into a laugh as King wiggled his way under Luz's arms.
"You two gremlins planned this, didn't you?" Eda asked jokingly.
The matching mischievous expressions her kids wore told Eda everything. She hugged the two closer and began to plant kisses on their faces. Luz giggled while King tried to move his face away from his mother.
"Oh, I love you two," Eda said lovingly.
"Luve you, Mommy Edy!"
"Weh!"
Eda's smile grew to fill her face as she settled in her nest with her kids for an extra hour of sleep.
(Camila)
The human mother was awake by this point and cracked one eye open halfway when she heard her door open. She watched as Boscha confidently strolled into the room. Though the "knocked-down" Grudgby player tried to look tough, the blanket she was dragging behind her and the slitherbeast plush she held close to her chest broke that look.
Boscha had reached Camila's bed when Vee wandered into the room. Camila noticed by the look on her daughter's face she didn't have a bad dream. Vee just wanted to be with her mommy.
Boscha turned and looked at Vee when she heard her approach.
"My tuwn," the "knocked-down" witch proclaimed, voice barely a whisper.
Vee shook her head confidently but still hid her face behind her plush. "No, my tuwn," she replied shyly.
Boscha growled under her breath and glared at her "cousin." Vee let out a small whimper but didn't back down.
Camila decided it was time to intervene before things turned out like the first time these two wanted to sleep with her. She got out of bed and walked over to the two.
The two heard their guardian coming and gasped when they got a good look at her.
"Pwetty," the two muttered in awe.
Camila blushed and giggled slightly at the praise and picked up Bosha. The new Dual-trick student squeaked cutely as Camila put Boscha into bed. She kissed the witch on the forehead and went to get Vee.
Vee opened her right arm, and Camila giggled at the cuteness. She picked up the "knocked-down" basilisk and returned to her bed. She carefully got into it and wrapped an arm around Boscha.
Boscha and Vee snuggled into their guardian's arms, and Camila nearly gushed at the sight.
"Luve you, Mommy/Auntie Cammy!"
If Camila wasn't gushing before, she was now. She kissed her charges' faces a few times and then settled in for an extra hour of sleep.
(Lilith)
"Pwetty," Amity mumbled, and Lilith giggled.
Mother and daughter had just finished their morning ritual and were settling in for an extra hour of sleep like the others of the Familia.
"And you're always too cute for words," Lilith replied warmly, kissing her daughter's cheek.
Amity blushed as she snuggled into her mother's chest. Lilith got comfortable and was about to close her eyes when a familiar voice sounded out.
"Hey, LuLu! I can't believe all the energy I have now! Hoot, Hoot! It's like I ate three Zap bugs before I went to bed!"
Amity's eyes snapped open, and she looked on with horror at the "knocked-down" house demon.
Hooty didn't look that much different than his normal state. The only differences were Hooty's down feathers and the extra fat around his face.
"Oh, hiya, Amity!" Hooty chirped, "Guess who's finally joining the "knocked-down" coven? It's me!"
Amity couldn't control her childish fear and pressed tight against her mother. Lilith noticed this and gave her daughter a pat on the shoulder. She then looked at her dear friend with a hint of authority in her eyes.
"Hooty," Lilith seriously spoke, "I know this is a new experience for you, but remember what we talked about last night."
"Sorry, LuLu," Hooty said, a slight frown on his face.
Lilith smiled gently and reached out a hand. Hooty stretched out his neck and met his dear friend in the middle.
"It's quite already, Dear Hootsifer," Lilith said warmly, patting Hooty on the head. "Just be mindful about others being… off-put by your current appearance."
"For you, LuLu!" Hooty proclaimed proudly, "I will walk to the swamps of Amphibia and back."
Hooty then returned to Portable house, and Lilith shook her head. She loves her dear friend dearly, but he needs to learn about personal space.
The "knocked-down" Historian looked at Amity and sighed. The young witch was still somewhat in shock at seeing Hooty. Lilith sighed again and slowly picked up Amity as she left her bed.
"Well, shall we get breakfast started?" Lilith asked, and Amity slowly nodded.
(An hour later)
"Wow," Eda said in awe, sitting Luz and King at their usual place at the table. "How many potions did you need to knock Hooty down, Lily?"
"I assure you, Edalyn," Lilith replied, giving her niece and nephew their breakfast, "That's a question better left unanswered."
Eda frowned as she looked at the house demon on her sister's back. She made a note to check her potions after breakfast and took her usual seat.
Luz took a deep breath, ready to dive facefirst into her meal, only to have a vine tipped her right shoulder. She looked in that direction, but the vine vanished before she saw it. The "knocked-down" human frowned when she saw nothing, not even the second vine that scooped up some eggs.
Luz looked at her breakfast, and her frown deepened when she saw some of her eggs missing. She tried to shrug off her awkwardness and get ready to dive in.
Luz felt something tip her left shoulder this time and looked in that direction. She didn't see anything again and missed the Abomination's hand that replaced her missing egg and gave her an extra sausage patty.
Luz looked at her plate and saw the extra food. She tried to shake off her awkwardness again and prepared for her dive.
The vine from before crept up behind Luz and was about to tip her on the shoulder. The Abomination hand suddenly appeared and batted the vine away. The hand then wiggled a finger scoldingly at the vine, and the vine seemed to get irritated.
"Girls," Camila said warningly. "I told you, no fighting at the table."
"Sowwy, Auntie Cammy," Amity and Boscha moaned and hung their heads in shame.
Luz looked as Boscha recalled her vines, and Amity retracted her abomination. She next glared at Boscha, who just blew her a raspberry in return. She then looked at Amity with a big smile, and Amity returned the smile while blushing.
Luz returned her attention to her breakfast, and soon the entire Owlets were eyeing their meals. The Owl Mothers smiled fondly at this, and Eda held up three fingers.
'3…2…1…' she mouthed as she counted down, and then five current kids dove facefirst into their breakfast.
The "knocked-down" mothers laughed heartily as their kids made cute noises.
"One would think they would have gotten bored of this after a year," Lilith mused good-naturally.
"Oh, Lilith," Camila replied, shaking her head good-naturally. "I was cleaning Luz's face until she was six."
"Besides, Lily," Eda added in good-hearted teasing, "You wouldn't trade what came next for worlds."
Lilith looked as the children continued to devour their breakfast and smiled. No, she wouldn't trade any of this for all the riches in the realms.
"Speaking of that," Eda said, loud enough for everyone in the room to hear.
The kids stopped their devouring and looked at the witch. Eda gave them a teasing smile when she saw all eyes on her. She paused for a moment, just to be more of a tease.
"After we get you gremlins cleaned up," Eda finally said, "We're going to try something a little different for this "knock-down" week."
The kids could only look at the ex-wild witch in confusion. Eda offered them no more information; she just ate breakfast.
(SC)
"Lucky!" Luz moaned jealously.
"Sowwy," Vee muttered, hiding her face behind her plush toy.
The entire Owl Familia was in the "Knocked-down" room, having just finished their morning bathes.
The Owl Mothers couldn't help but smile at the sight; instead of wearing their standard "knocked-down" outfits, the kids wore the outfits their mothers wore during their first "knocked-down" adventure.
Because she won the coin toss, Vee was dressed in Eda's "knocked-down" outfit, only sporting her trademark colors. Luz was wearing Lilith's outfit; Amity was wearing Camila's clothes.
Even Boscha had gotten into the outfit swap; she was wearing Amity's usual "knocked-down" outfit without any changes. She even wore her hair like Amity did during her first time rejuvenated.
Finally, there was King; the young titan wore a simple red vest and matching pants. On his right horn was a gold ring with the initials "KC" on it.
The mothers, not wanting to be left out, decided to try something different. Eda was wearing Luz's usual outfit, only with her colors, but a denim skirt replaced the shorts, and she wore heeled boots.
Lilith was wearing Vee's outfit, but with flats, with sleeves of the sweater pulled up to the elbow. Finally, Camila was in Amity's outfit but with a pair of simple boots and her sleeves tighter to her arms.
Luz glared at her sister playfully and walked up to her. She suddenly grinned and hugged Vee before the basilisk knew what was happening.
"It's otay!" Luz cheerfully said. "My tuwn next!"
Vee smiled and returned the hug. Soon, King and Amity joined the hug. The mothers gushed at the scene as Camila took a few pictures. She noticed Boscha standing off to the side, a hint of red on her cheeks, and smiled.
Boscha felt someone looking at her and looked at her guardian. Camila continued to smile as she gestured for Boscha to join the rest of the KDC in the group hug.
Boscha, in her usual fashion, turned her nose up at the offer. Camila kept smiling and aimed her camera at the group.
Soon, Boscha inched her way to the group. Amity rolled her eyes when she saw Boscha and made room as Boscha reached them. The new dual-track student hesitated, but only a second.
Boscha joined the hug, and the mothers couldn't help but 'aww' at the sight. Camila took a few pictures as a crow suddenly flew into the room through the window. The crow landed on a mildly confused Eda, and she grabbed it.
"Hello?" the ex-wild witch spoke into the crow.
Eda suddenly thrust the crow away from her ear as a loud voice rang out from it.
"EDAYLN CLAWTHORNE! I KNOW YOU'RE BEHIND THIS!"
Startled, the group looked at Eda as she brought the cow back to her face. She didn't hide the humor in her voice when she spoke.
"Hi, goo-head. I see you find Golden Boy'ssurprise?"
"Eda!" Darius said furiously, "If I found you con my boy into doing this, I swear by the titan, the three-stone guardian, and every-known human realm deity-"
"Wow, wow," Eda said, "Slow your abomination, Darius. I was just the supplier here. This was all your kid's idea."
"I doubt that?" Darius growled.
Eda rolled her eyes and sighed. She gestured that she was taking the call into the hallway, and Lilith nodded. The ex-wild witch silently exited the room and closed the door.
"I know you think I twisted Hunter's arm in this," Eda said seriously. "But this was all Hunter's idea. He saw what was happening to you and came to me, okay."
She could hear the ex-head growling, but he didn't respond in any manner.
"...And seeing what you were like when you picked up the kid a few weeks ago, I couldn't help but agree," Eda frowned as she recalled two weeks ago.
She was thankful she was on a crow, for Darius couldn't see the shudder that ran down her back.
She wasn't sugarcoating anything if asked; seeing Darius looking so tired and worn down had her flashing back to last Year's Ghoul Break and how Luz looked at the start of the week.
She shook her head to clear it and spoke calmly into the crow. "Look, you know you need to let the potion run its course."
She smirked and knew her old classmate could feel it at his end as she said the next part.
"Besides, you know you're not alone. And I not just talking about Rainestorm and their kids; the Blight Babies are also in on it, and they did the same to their daddy."
Eda nearly cackled when she heard her old classmate's breath hitch. She managed to keep her voice collected as she sealed the deal.
"Look, Rainestorm's kids are stopping by with them and the Blights later in the afternoon. Why don't you tag along and help plan out the week? Leave this government stuff behind for a couple of days and just be a kid."
"...Fine," Darius grumbled, "But when this week is over, you and I are going to talk about you corrupting my child."
Darius ended the call, and the crow flew away. Eda shook her head, and a light smile played on her lips as she returned to her family.
"What's with these government stiffs thinking I corrupt kids of any age?" Eda suddenly blinked at the sight she found herself in. "...And what happened while I was out?"
In front o her was her kid and Boscha; the two were fighting. But the smile the two were sporting said otherwise.
"Oh, Boscha called the Vee's outfit lame, and Luz didn't like that," Lilith replied lightheartedly, "I suppose Darius is now coming with Raine."
"You bet you snorse he is," Eda chirped. "And with the Blacklights coming, we'll have a full house."
"Ma-Ma's coming," Vee muttered and hid her red face with her plush.

Like how I'm taking suggestions, I'm trying something a little different this time. Each day will have three to four chapters featuring events from a character's point of view. So this might lead to the longest mainline story in my series yet!
