Bowsette: A New Life
Chapter 19
Unusual Date
Upon seeing Bowsette sitting across the long table waiting for him Mario stops in his tracks and stares. Bowsette was always gorgeous, but it looked like she had decided to go the extra mile. Bowsette was wearing black eyeshadow, makeup to cover up her facial scales, red eyeliner on top armbands and choker were studded with small rubies, but her dress… it was black as usual but that's all that was the same. Bowsette's dress was lined top to bottom with what looked like black gemstones, making her whole dress shimmer. Bowsette wasn't wearing her shell which made Mario relax a bit, there's no way she'd show up looking for a fight without that thing. It all made Mario feel rather plain, and he'd done his best.
For her part Bowsette was just as flabbergasted. The plumber was wearing a fancy two-piece suit that was a red suit jacket with blue pants, along with wearing brown dress shoes that must have been a pain to walk here in. All she could do was stare back at Mario with her mouth open and a chalice in her hand. Bowsette was expecting him to show up with the same blue overall red shirt plus hat combo as ever, but he'd even left his hat off and slicked his hair back.
'Wow…' The two both thought at the same time. Mario cleared his throat and took a seat across from the Koopa Queen. "So… um… you look very good this-a evening." Mario finally said after a couple minutes of the two struggling to say something. "Thank you…" Bowsette's cheeks burned. "You look very handsome plumber boy." Now it was Mario's turn to be flustered.
Bowsette's feelings rushed back again in full force and invaded her thoughts, and she was too gobsmacked to stop them. 'Oh God of All Koopas he's so… so hot… No, I've got to do this I gotta reject him and everything will go back to normal but he's so hot but I've got to reject him…' Bowsette's thoughts raced in a circle. Bowsette coughed. "Guards! Bring dinner!" Bowsette suddenly yelled. Several Koopa Troopas entered carrying various dishes. Bowsette did her best to focus on the large plate of meat before her instead of her date. "Um… dig in!" Bowsette dives into the meat without further preamble and starts eating in her usual manner.
Mario had sat there nervously for the longest time. All he could do was stare at his host and wonder how it had taken him so long to notice how attractive she was. As she called for food though, he tried to be polite at first, but then noticed that Bowsette was diving into her food with reckless abandon. Never one to be left behind Mario grabbed his meal and dug into it with just as much fervor.
Pulling up at almost the same time the two looked at each other. Mario and Bowsette were now a mess, their clothes covered with various sauces and bits of meat. A look the two rivals had shared many many times passed between the two and they both started eating faster and faster. The Koopa attendants watch as the two diners eat with ever increasing fury. "More!" Bowsette calls. The Koopas rush off hurriedly to grab more food.
That portly plumber isn't going to outdo me!' Bowsette though as she shoveled more food into her face. Soon Bowsette crawls into the table and grabs more food even as her attendants place more on each side of the table. The two grabbing the food off the plate before the attendants are even finished presenting it. Mario isn't far behind; he wasn't going to make this easy for the Koopa Queen either. It was oddly refreshing to see that Mario's 'date' if he could call it that wasn't fixated upon being delicate and refined like some princesses he could name. As he ate as fiercely as he had with his brother when they were competing at downing a half dozen pizzas Mario had to admit it was nice not having to put up a front with a woman for once.
A fierce battle rages for several minutes, the kitchen unable to keep up with the hunger on display. The two combatants reached the center of the table at the same time, and each grabbed a hunk of sirloin. "Ugh! It's-a mine!" Mario grunted. "Oh no, go back to your pasta you Italian fatso! It's mine!" The two pulled it back and forth for a minute before mutually deciding to bite into it and fight to tear the most off the bone.
(Un)Fortunately, the two are too focused to notice what they're doing. As they get down to the last strips of meat Mario and Bowsette go in for a bite… and their lips impact. Both freeze in their tracks holding the kiss and going red as a beet. Bowsette pulls away and holds her face as she blushes. "You… you just wanted to steal a kiss from me! You creep!"
"Says the woman who had-a me helpless and decided to-a make out with me instead of killing me." Mario shot back. 'Does she want to kiss-a me or not? What does she want?' Mario thinks exasperated. Mario tries to pull away, but Bowsette grabs his shoulder and stops him. She almost kisses him again right then and there but stops herself. "Maybe… maybe you're right. But this isn't… this isn't right!" Bowsette laments. "It-a seems pretty right to me." Mario said. "No, it's not! This is not how it's supposed to be! We're enemies Pizza freak! We should be fighting over princesses not… not…" The words get caught in her throat. "You hate me."
"I don't-a hate you." Mario said. Bowsette's eyes shot up. "Huh?" Bowsette looked at him confused. "Maybe I did once." Mario admitted. "But you're not-a as bad as you try to be." Mario scratches his head. "Oh really? You sound confident." Bowsette tries her best to sound tough. "I'm the Queen of Koopas, kidnapper of princesses and conqueror of lands! I am the most powerful and evil scourge the world has ever known!"
"Really? I think the-a Smithy Gang has you beat." Bowsette scoffs. "Amateurs!" She tried to deflect. "What about-a Cackletta or the Shroobs? Fawful?" Mario kept pressing. He suddenly blushed upon realizing he had been inside Bowsette's body for a considerable amount of time during one of those particular adventures, not that he saw anything of note from there. "They… they weren't so bad…" Bowsette tries to deny. "Anyway, I'm here and they aren't!" Bowsette said firmly. "Because of us. Because you helped get-a rid of them." Mario thinks back. "Why didn't you… I don't know…" Mario hesitates. Bowsette was scarier now than when the two would fight!
"Smother you with kisses then?" Bowsette finished. "I don't know." Literally true, she had no idea why the other Bowsette didn't take the opportunity the various times they were allies to go after Mario. Time and again Bowsette really didn't understand what was going through the other Bowsette's head and she probably never would. Besides, as far as she knew that particular Bowsette never actually existed except in everybody's heads. "Maybe I didn't know what I wanted." Bowsette admitted. "Or maybe I knew you loved someone else, and it was hopeless."
"And now?" Mario pressed. 'No gotta reject gotta reject gotta... gotta...' Bowsette couldn't stop looking at his lips. "I… I…" Bowsette blushed hard and before she knew it she was leaning forward. Mario closed his eyes and followed…
