Chapter One
2006
Midmorning…
The Craftsman…
Kim and Don sat in contentment as the entire Eppes family was hanging around in the living room as they watched an old movie that no one had seen, except for Don and Kim, as Sullivan's Travels is one of his favorite movies.
Ever since Kim had met Don, she found herself enjoying all the old movies they have watched together, and how they found different activities with each other, something she would forever be grateful for.
She definitely needed the distraction after the whole mess with her parents last month, which was still raw for her, as she hadn't heard anything from them since they left and she would rather not contact them herself, either.
'They will never change.' She thought bitterly before turning her attention back to the movie, as there was really no point to thinking about it right now. It would only bring back unpleasant memories.
Besides, she has no idea as to where they ever are.
Meanwhile..
Unknown location…
Mark looked out the window of the hotel he and Ellen have been staying for the last week, and was amazed that none of the people they owe money are camping out, as they weren't exactly careful when they left L.A..
Mark sadly thought of his daughter, as he knew he and his wife have really screwed up this time, as they will probably never have a proper relationship with their daughter, and that they will never get to know their grandchildren.
They have made far too many mistakes.
He was pulled out of his thoughts when he heard the door, which caused him and Ellen to freeze, wondering who it could possibly be and if they should even answer.
When he answered the door, he had a surprise.
"You…" He stammered, staring at someone he had long thought was dead.
