Chapter Three

Next day…

9:00 am

Breakfast went relatively fine before Alan went to the bank, as both Don and Kim were taking the twins to the park and Charlie needed to finish working on his papers for his mid-afternoon classes, though he wanted to see if Don and Kim had the time do lunch with him somewhere, mostly so that he would get to know Kim better.

"Don, do you and Kim want to have lunch somewhere later?" Charlie asked hopefully

Don looked at Kim, who nodded with a small smile, as she really needed to get her mind clear and she also wanted to get to know her brother-in-law.

"Sure, do you want to get pizza before your classes?" Don asked with his trademark grin, knowing that his brother was eager to hang out.

"Works for me." Charlie said smiling back as he went back to looking through his papers as he waved his brother and Kim goodbye as they left.

As Don and Kim walked out, they both wondered what they'll ever do about Kim's parents, as they could potentially show up again at any point and what precautions they should take for the sake of their twins, as neither of them want those people near the little ones, as it would only lead to trouble.

"Do you want to talk about it?" Don asked, unsure how to even approach the subject.

"Not right now, maybe this evening, when I've had more time to think." Kim said honestly, as she knew they would have to discuss at some point.

Don simply nodded, as he knew from experience that this type of thing can't be solved with one simple conversation.

As they neared the park, they were unaware of the watchful eyes of the said parents, who were also dealing with their own problems at the moment.

"When should we approach them?" Ellen asked her husband, as she was eager to escape the situation they had found themselves in.

"Tomorrow, as we still have a week to work things out." Mark said, hoping that was reassuring, as their actions over the years are really catching up with them.

Ellen simply nodded as they both knew that their daughter wouldn't be in the mood to even see them, but really needed her, and Don's, help.
