Chapter Four

Two hours later…

Charlie met with Don and Kim at Wilson's Pizza, a newly opened place where the three have already been there twice and they have been impressed every time.

The best part was a play area for the twins, as well as other similarly aged kids for them to hang out with and there were plenty of familiar kids there, which was a huge plus for the parents.

"How's work going, Chuck?" Don asked after they ordered

"Don't call me Chuck, and it's been going pretty good, I've got some great students this semester." Charlie said, returning a smile

"Nice, how are things going with Amita?" Don asked, not sure if he should be asking or not

"Good, as she chose to stay at CalSci and I actually asked her out for coffee tomorrow morning, so we'll see where that goes." Charlie said with a grin

"That's great news, buddy." Don said smiling, as he knew that Charlie had feelings for Amita and he wanted to see his brother happy

"So am I. Amita is a good fit for you." Kim said in agreement, glad that she doesn't have her parents to discuss at the moment.

Unbeknownst to her, said parents were outside the building, quickly moving to another restaurant to avoid being spotted by their daughter, as they couldn't help but follow and see how the family was doing.

Mark felt nothing but regret, as they knew that they had screwed up along the way but he thought there was still a chance that they could somehow resolve things.

"Let's head back to the hotel, before they see us." Mark urged his wife a couple moments later, as they didn't want to cause a scene at the moment.

Not in public anyway.

Half an hour later….

Charlie exchanged his goodbyes with Don and Kim and went to get his bike, as his car was in the shop, again.

He swore that the mechanic was deliberately trying to find new ways to fix his car and he was tempted by Don's offer to look at the car.

As he rode to CalSci, he was unaware of an unknown male figure, determined to get the Halls to pay their debts.

And that no one will get in his way.
