Two months have passed, and life at Hogwarts has been normal.

Draco has made the quidditch team as a beater, and has been demonstrating great skills, which has gained him a lot of popularity within the house of Slytherin, and respect outside of it.

Harry has found a new mystery to work out: the voice he's been hearing.

"Did you hear this?" he asked one day, while they were both studying in the Slytherin common room, and looked at Draco

"Hear what?" Draco asked, visibly confused.

Ever since, Harry has been following the voice, and trying to figure out what it is.

"You should not tell anyone of this." Draco warned him, "people will think you're crazy."

"Not in a magical way?"

"No, not in a magical way."

So he didn't.

It is, once again, Halloween. Draco and Harry headed with some of their other Slytherin friends to the Great Hall for the party. Everybody seemed to be amazed by the Great Hall decorations for Halloween, but no Draco. Malfoy Manor decorations were much fancier. He was enjoying the dinner nonetheless! The food was good! And so were the vibes…

"Did you hear this?" Not again.

"Is it the voice again?" Draco whispered to Harry. Harry nodded.

"I'm gonna go follow it!"

"Wait!" Draco stopped him, grabbing his hand. "Can we not do that? Just tonight?"

"But…"

"I don't want to miss the party."

"You don't have to follow it with me." Harry said, freed himself from Draco's grip, and ran after the voice before he lost it.

"Ugh, fine!" Draco groaned, and reluctantly followed Harry.

They followed the voice through the castle. While Harry was very focused and invested, Draco was bored. He couldn't even hear the voice.

"What is it saying?" Draco opened his mouth to ask.

"Ssshh!" Harry shushed him.

Draco did not enjoy this.

They took a turn. The corridor they arrived at was very wet.

"No! My shoes!" Draco complained about the filthy water ruining his very fancy shoes, but Harry was looking at the end of the corridor. No longer following the voice.

Draco looked around him. The wall. That's blood on the wall.

The Chamber of Secrets has been opened.

Enemies of the heir, beware!

Oh no.

"Harry, we need to leave now."

Harry was too transfixed by what seemed like a cat.

"Do you hear me?" Draco nudged him, "We cannot be here!"

Harry looked at him. "That's Mrs. Norris."

"I don't care! We need to leave now!"

"No, we need to go get someone."

"No, we don't!" Draco just grabbed Harry by his hand.

"Let go of me!"

"Sshh!"

Draco opened an empty classroom and pulled Harry inside.

"What was that?" Harry asked.

"This is serious, Harry."

"I know, Mrs. Norris…" Harry started to say.

"It's bigger than that!" Draco cut him off. "It's the chamber."

Harry looked confused. Draco told him the legend of the Chamber of Secrets.

"We are safe, but we cannot be associated with it." Draco reassured Harry.

"What about the muggleborn students?" Harry asked, concerned.

"What about them?" Draco asked, Harry gave him a grim look.

"They're not safe!" Harry was about to yell, when they heard Mr. Filch voice yelling from the corridor outside.

Somehow without them noticing, the entire school has gathered around the scene of the crime. They were trapped inside.

"Where do you think you're going?" Harry was about to leave the classroom when Draco stopped him.

Harry and Draco had another argument about their next step. Draco suggested using the invisibility cloak to leave and go back to the Slytherin dungeons, far away from here, where no one will suspect them. Harry wanted to go to Dumbledore.

"They'll think you're the heir!" Draco told Harry. "You are a Slytherin after all!"

"You are a Slytherin too!"

"Yes, and a Pureblood!" Draco reminded him. "This will look very bad!"

They stayed in the classroom whisper-arguing until the crowd outside dispersed and the hallway was once again empty. That's when they finally came out. Harry stopped to stare at the wall.

"Poor Hermione…" Harry said to himself.

Draco did not think of that.
