No more attacks happened between then and Christmas break. Harry Potter was the main suspect now, after showing off his Parseltongue skills. Even his friends…

Ron Weasley was legit scared of him at this point. Neville Longbottom would only be with him in a room if Hermione is there too. Even Hermione asked him if he was the heir, but took his word when he denied.

Except for Draco. He dismissed the idea entirely. "That's ridiculous."

Christmas break passed by pretty quickly with no more attacks. Maybe the heir went home for Christmas.

January.

The castle was no longer empty, and people seemed to have somewhat forgotten about the chamber over break. Harry was feeling optimistic! Maybe the chamber was closed. He thought, until… the voices.

"The voices." He whispered to Draco.

"No, Harry!" Draco scolded him. "You're not following the voices."

"What if the lead me to the heir?"

"What if the lead you to another victim? Do you know how that would look?"

"I have to!" Harry insisted.

"Well, I'm not following you."

"Don't."

Harry followed the voice through the castle all the way to Moaning Myrtle's bathroom, which was flooding. He entered the bathroom. He heard sobbing.

"Hello?" He called. Out popped a ghost.

"Who's there?" Moaning Myrtle asked aggressively.

Harry introduced himself, and asked Myrtle a few questions. She was more than happy to complain to him about some diary falling through her or something.

"May I keep the diary?" Harry asked, Myrtle did not object.

That's how Harry found himself later that day in the Slytherin common room talking to Tom Riddle through the diary.

When he told Draco about the diary, he was not pleased.

"This is clearly dark magic. You should take it back to Moaning Myrtle's bathroom immediately." Draco warned him.

"But I need to find out more about the Chamber of Secrets." And so he kept it, not for long though.

That night, the diary disappeared.
