Hello everyone, and welcome back to "A Long Distance Ship"! In the previous chapter, Ash ended up catching his second Hoenn Pokemon in the form of Treecko and saw the new Pokemon that Jessie and James caught in the Hoenn region, Cacnea and Seviper. Anyways, this will be the first chapter since Petalburg where I will only cover a single episode, more specifically AG009. I hope you guys all enjoy it! Let's get going!

Subject: A mystery at Shroomish Mansion

Hey there, Misty. Brock, May, Max, and I are officially out of the woods and arrived in a small town to rest up before we continue on the road to Rustboro City. While May and Brock went to get some shopping for supplies done before we head on the road again, Max and I had our own adventures looking for some Pokémon, and he ended up meeting and befriending a Shroomish! While Shoomish are usually forest Pokémon, this Shroomish, and a bunch of others, lived in a mansion when the town was more forested. But as the forest got torn down for more and more buildings, the Shroomish stayed in the mansion, attacking those who came in. (I should know, as Team Rocket got stunned by their Stun Spore when they attacked. Twice.) And while the man who wanted to tear down the mansion (the grandson of the man who owned the mansion before passing on) didn't change his plans on tearing it down, he decided to replant the trees so the Shroomish he was close to as a child can be happy. Anyways, seeing how Max got close to the Shroomish that kicked this whole thing off (even giving it a little bow), I can just tell he is going to be great with Pokémon when he eventually becomes a trainer one day. Sure, it is a sample size of just one, but I am sure it will grow. Do you think so, Misty?

Hey Ash, glad to see you have made it to a town. Those Shroomish sure are lucky to have their home replanted after all of that trouble. And I feel sorry for almost all those who got a taste of Stun Spore. Where is the Salveyo Weed when you need it? Anyways, the preparations for the start of gym season are going well so far, my Pokémon are excited to battle new trainers who come through Cerulean! Wish me luck!

PS: It is too early to tell if Max will be a good trainer when he turns ten based on his relationship with Pokémon. Give me another example or two before I can form my final opinion.
