Happy birthday to me (and the Pokemon franchise)!

Happy birthday dear me and the Pokemon franchise!
Happy birthday to me!
And the Pokemon franchise... Anyways, welcome back to "A Long Distance Ship", everyone! If you are reading this on the day that this is going up, than you know that 27 years ago today, Pokemon Red and Green were first released in Japan. Five years after that, I evolved from from Northern Nebula Pokeshipper into Northstar Pokeshipper (or, today is my 22nd birthday). And as it is a Monday, that means another chapter of the story is coming out for you guys to enjoy! Last time, Ash charged into his fight with Brawly, which confirmed that no, he cannot win gym battles without using Pikachu... yet. He decided to do some training on Dewford Island for his rematch, and this chapter covers the first couple of days training, from AG021 to AG024. A pro of this arc is that Ash gets more development, but a huge con (especially for me writing this) means that he spends long periods of time away from a computer to talk with Misty, so we will have a lot of ground to cover in such little time for these next three chapters. What has Ash been up to since his loss? Well, let's read to find out!

Hey Misty, I am sorry that I did not talk to you for a while, I was very busy with training for the Dewford Island Gym rematch. But since I haven't talked to you in a while, I have a lot of updates on what happened since we last talked with one another. May, Max, Brock, and I have found the perfect place to train and decided to set up camp there. A guy named Steven Stone showed us the place after we met him in Granite Cave. Anyways, not long after we started training, we got an unwanted visitor who trashed our place, and after a while, we found out that it was a wild Corphish. And it was a tough one, as it managed to take out Pikachu! But using its impatience against it, Treecko managed to help me get a new member on my team. That's right, I used how I lost in the Dewford Gym to help me win. But now for the reason I am emailing you, Misty. The day after I caught Corphish (aka today), we had another scuffle with Team Rocket, where both May and Jessie's Wurmple evolved into Silcoon. (The color was a bit off on Jessie's as it was a purple color instead of white, but I am sure it is just normal.) Anyways, after we sent them blasting off, Corphish got really sick. So I carried him all the way to the Pokémon Center in order to get him treated by Nurse Joy. I walked up a steep mountain, went through a thick forest (almost getting a face full of Stun Spore with no Salveyo Weed in sight), and waded across a river infested with Carvanha who wanted to attack me, Corphish, and Pikachu! (Corphish used BubbleBeam to help me out, using some of his remaining strength before we finally arrived at the Pokémon Center.) Corphish is fine, it was just the fact that he ate rope and other stuff that is bad for Pokémon. A nice rest at the Pokémon Center should help him out. I need a nice long rest too after what I did for my Pokémon, especially on a mostly empty stomach (I only had a single Pecha Berry all day)…
Ash
PS: I may not have beaten her in a battle, but wasn't it you who suggested to make her laugh?

Hey there, Ash. I am glad that you have caught a new Pokémon (especially one that is a water type). But there is one thing that I am concerned about: how you dealt with helping your new Pokémon out when he got sick. I know that you care deeply for your Pokémon, and have done some pretty stupid things in the past in order to keep them safe, but I think that this is the stupidest thing you have done by far. I know that caring for Pokémon is very important (especially for you), but putting your own Pokémon's health above your own was pretty risky for you, Ash. You could have easily passed from all the exhaustion from running nonstop from one end of the island to the other, especially when you have had only one thing to eat all day. (Either from that or from a river full of hostile Pokémon attacking you) What I am saying is that care for yourself as much as you care for your Pokémon, Ash. But as long as you both are okay, it is all good. Good luck on the rest of your training, Ash.
Misty
PS: Thinking back... yeah... 11-year-old me was the one who told you to try and make her laugh. Maybe if you go to Saffron City again, try and beat her in an actual battle.
And that does it for this chapter of "A Long Distance Ship"! We have reached another milestone since last chapter, as this story has 20 reviews! The first comes from an old friend, Ian, who reminded me that MISTY was the one to tell Ash to make Sabrina laugh. But still, I saw it as Ash's most undeserved badge of the Indigo League, and I might have Ash have a rematch with her before he and Misty hit puberty, if you know what I mean. And for the 20th review of the story, we have someone who also decided to become a follower, LiquidNitrous! Thank you for all of the support, guys. Remember: every review, follow, and favorite gives me the motivation to keep on going, so if you like the story, do it! Anyways, thats all for today, I will see you next time, and have a good week!
