Hello, everyone, and welcome back to "A Long Distance Ship"! In the last part, Ash finally had his rematch with Brawly and told Misty about it, and prooved that yes, he CAN win gym battles without relying on Pikachu. Anyways, Ash and co. are heading off to Slateport City in this chapter, but it will not exactly be smooth sailing. But don't take my word for it. Let's hear about the story from Ash's perspective.

Hey there, Misty, I am finally in Slateport City after a rough ride from Dewford Island. A "nice old couple" offered to take us to Slateport City for May's first contest, and from there, my third gym challenge in the region. Take a wild guess who the "nice old couple" actually were. Yep, the TRio, and May, Max, Brock and I did not notice it until it was too late and we had the worst string of luck imaginable. We ended up on an abandoned ship that a bunch of wild Pokémon have decided to make their home, especially water Pokémon. We had problems with one of the Pokémon that called the ship home in particular: a Swampert. You see, he didn't like that we and another person, Tommy, were on the boat and tried to keep us captive. But it turns out that Tommy was familiar with the Swampert, as the same day this ship was abandoned, he lost his Marshtomp in all of the chaos. It took a while, but Swampert eventually recognized Tommy as his trainer and let our friends (and Team Rocket, who also got captured by Swampert) free. After the TRio got blasted off yet again, Tommy offered us a lift to Slateport. We have just arrived there for May's first contest, and after that, we plan on heading to Mauville City for my third gym badge in the Hoenn region. Wish me luck!

Ash

Hey, Ash. Glad to hear that you have reached Slateport City safely, even if it took you a lot longer than you would have liked because of the TRio. Looking at Swampert, and with your accounts of how it acted on the ship, I think it would have worked well as a horror movie villain, one that I would have enjoyed (water-type bias totally in effect). It also appears to be what Mock's Mudkip will become one day, that is, if he has it evolve before he realizes that he is not a water-type trainer. Also, an abandoned boat sounds like the perfect place for a wild Pokémon sanctuary as it is surrounded by water, and very few humans would go there (intentionally, that is). A shame I am stuck here in the gym and I couldn't see it in person. Anyways, my day was pretty good today. I had a lot of gym challengers wanting to come over for a badge, and on a day when I planned on getting a few things. Luckily Togepi and Psyduck were okay with running out and getting them for me, including a new outfit that I plan on wearing from now on. I will send you a pic of me in it. I hope you like it!

Misty

PS: I wish May good luck in her upcoming contest!

And that just about does it for this chapter of the story. Sorry for it being short compared to the previous ones. One of the disadvantages of having just one episode per email is having less to say about them. Anyways, I would like to thank Ian again for reviewing, as well as Abandonded 001. I am sorry you didn't enjoy the story to the latter, but I reviewed the story you suggested to me. And let me tell you, it was truly one of the fanfictions based on a show I never watched. And thanks to KrazySage for adding this story to your following list. And unfortunatly, we lost another favorite, as Grove of Hearts opted to remove this story from his list. I am sorry that you didn't like it, buddy, and thanks for giving it a chance. Remember to favorite and follow the story if you like it, and leave a review to roast the fic or praise it. It all gives me the motivation to continue! I will see you next time, and have a great weekend!
