Hello, everyone, and welcome back to another chapter of "A Long Distance Ship!" Last time, Ash and Max helped look over some starter Pokemon while Nurse Joy had to help out with a beached Wailord, and let's just say that it didn't quite go the way that they planned. Anyways, this chapter marks May's debut in the Hoenn Contest Circut. Will all of her hard work on Dewford Island and in Slateport City pay off? Well, how about you read to find out?

Hey Misty. May, Max, Brock, and I have just gotten back from May's first ever Pokémon Contest, and it didn't quite go as well for May as she would have liked. She tripped during her routine with Beautifly close to the end of her appeal round, but she managed to scrape into the battle rounds with a 24.9. The battle round on the other hand… yeah, that is a completely different story, as she had to face off against the same Drew person I mentioned two emails ago. And despite Beautifly double resisting Roselia's grass attacks, May got absolutely destroyed. She learned how cutthroat contest battles could be, and regrets not training for battles more on Dewford Island and here in Slateport. I admitted to her that losing is tough, seeing as how I lost many battles since starting my journey. We watched the rest of the contest (a trainer named Robbie and his Milotic ended up the winners of the Slateport Contest) as May vowed to win her next contest. And I hope she does.

Hey there, Ash. Glad to hear that the contest went well. It is a shame that May could not win her first contest, but hey, she was just beginning the whole battling thing. You didn't win your first ever gym battle either, Ash. (Or win a badge fair and square until your fifth gym battle *Lost to Brock, beat Brock with a cheap strategy, had our battle interrupted by the TRio before my sisters decided to just give you the badge, lost to Surge, before finally beating him.*) I wish May luck when her next contest comes up. As for the Pokémon that ended up winning the whole thing, even if it wasn't a Water-type (which honestly makes the whole Pokémon better), I think I love Milotic! They look so beautiful, and if I was in the Hoenn region with you, I would totally try and catch one (or its pre-evolution) and train it! Anyways, good luck, Ash!

Misty

And that is it for this chapter of "A Long Distance Ship". I knew if Misty saw Milotic if she was traveling with Ash, she would fangirl over it so hard, and they are growing more eagar to see one another again. (And if you watched the actual show, you know they will, but my version will be different from their canonical meeting. Like, really different. When Parts 71-72 of my Pokemon anime review on Deviant Art come out, you will understand why...) Anyways, thanks again Ian for leaving a comment on this story, and thanks to mudaship39 for favoriting this story. Every favorite, follow, and review on this story is greatly apreciated, positive, negative, or constructive. I will see you all next time, and have a good week, everyone!
