Hello everyone, and welcome back to another chapter of "A Long Distance Ship"! And what a wonderful day it is for Pokeshipping, as in Japan, it is SatoKasu day! That's right, the Japanese have their own day dedicated to my favorite ship, April 3rd (4/3). Why that day? It isn't becasue an episode important to both characters aired on that day, but because four and three can be read as "shi" and "mi", the last sylables of Ash and Misty's Japanese names, SatoSHI and KasuMI, respectively. Anyways, I hope you enjoy this chapter, and remember to vote in the poll on my profile if you haven't already! Now let's go!

Subject: Misty Village

Hey Misty. My friends and I have made it to the Mauville City Pokemon Center after a handful of adventures. After leaving the Pokemon center and traveling for a couple of days, we ended up in a village known for its foggy weather called "Misty Village" (no relation to you). The people deal with the fog with the help of something known as "The Light Stone", which gives off light when hit by an electric attack. We found out about it thanks to Team Rocket before returning the stone to the people who look after it from the lighthouse. The older of the two, Alyssa, thought that WE stole the light stone, but the younger one, Thatcher, recognized the real crooks before explaining everything. Thatcher thought that I was some sort of hero, as I have a blue coat and a Pikachu, just like the one who brought the light stone over to Misty Village. And while I want to be a hero, I think the future should decide if there is a hero buried deep inside. But I just decided to play along for a little while, teaching Thatcher about what it takes to be a hero and a good trainer. He got to put it to good use pretty quickly as guess who decided to try and steal the Light Stone AGAIN. If you guessed the TRio, then you are right. And when my friends and I went to the lighthouse, they decided to take Pikachu as well! Even though Thatcher thought that there was no way for Pikachu to hear me, I shouted out a plan to Pikachu: use Thunderbolt on the Light Stone. As Team Rocket electricity-proofed the Zapdos mech that they used to take the stone away, there was no way for Pikachu to free himself, but the Light Stone shone whenever it was hit by an electrical attack, so it could shine and lead us to the TRio. But Brock said that the bond between us was strong, and sure enough, it worked. When we reached Team Rocket, Thatcher helped me out with his Plusle and Minun using Helping Hand and Spark to override the electricity proofing of Team Rocket's mech. After sending the TRio blasting off yet again, I told him the truth: I am not really the legendary hero. But he didn't care if I was THE hero, because I am HIS hero for what I have done in helping him gain confidence in his Pokemon. I am glad that someone called me that, and I promised Thatcher that when we meet again, we will have a battle before we headed off towards Mauville. We ended up getting to the Center today, after taking part in some sort of fun house competition. We ended up losing (no thanks to THEM), but I am sure that I will win my upcoming gym battle! Wish me luck!

Ash

PS: I don't know if it is just me missing you THAT much, but whenever I heard Alyssa talking, she sounded just like you…

Hey there, Ash! I am glad to hear you have made it to your destination! The Light Stone sure sounds like a useful item to have in foggy spaces. If only there was a move that could remove fog, that would be pretty useful for your travels. But still, the Light Stone was helpful for you getting to Misty Village safely. Thatcher sounds like a good kid, and you treated him well even if you were not the legendary hero that he thought. You have inspired so many people we have met throughout the time we have traveled through Kanto, the Orange Islands, and Johto, and I am glad to see you continuing the trend in the Hoenn region. And about your hearing me within the voice of Alyssa, I think it is just a coincidence, but I have been hearing a little bit of you in some of my challengers, which has been leading me to think of you during them. I will admit it is bad, as it has cost me a couple of matches, but still, I cannot admit that I miss you… *sigh* I wish that my sisters could just finish up their tour and head back here*… Anyways, good luck on your gym battle, Ash!
