Baleigh's POV
"Sit down." I heard my dad's voice boom as I entered the house, it had to be about four in the morning.
"Shit. I was caught, Ian was supposed to cover for me." I cursed my younger brother as I trudged into the living room where my father stood.
"Sit." My father repeated through clenched teeth. I sat down in an empty chair as he flipped the light on.
"Give me the gun." Shot out of his mouth.
"What gun?" I feigned innocence, why wouldn't he let this go?
"I know you have it, because it's missing from my study. How many times have I told you not go in there? I know you think your little miss badass but, you're not. You are a child. You're only sixteen years old, you don't know what you're getting yourself into. I don't like who you're becoming. You're rude to your mom all the time and she doesn't deserve that. I've told both you and your brother that you two will never partake in what I do for work. Do you understand me?" Johnny was angry, he amounted this behavior to his sister.
"Fine, here. I'm not mean to mom. What are you talking about?" I asked innocently, setting the gun on the glass table.
"Stop playing the victim, it's getting really old. There will be consequences if you don't get your act together. I'm not going to let you talk to your mom any way you want." Johnny continues to grow even more angry, before grabbing a hammer and pounding up to the steps to his daughter's bedroom.
"Dad!" I yelled, rushing up the stairs after him. Johnny began hammering nails into the window.
"Why are you treating me like I'm a child?" I yelled at him, Johnny just bitterly chuckled.
"Whether you want to believe it or not, you still are a child Baleigh Marie. I don't know why you think it's okay to disrespect your parents but, I've had about enough." Lulu Zacchara stood in the doorway, leaning her head against the doorframe. Lulu was dressed in a pink robe, with grey sweatpants and a pink top, with matching pink slippers on her feet.
" I don't need you guys, I'll move out right now!" I yelled, going to grab a bag but my mother grabbed me by the arm, stopping me.
"I don't know where you think you're going, I don't know what lies your aunt has filled your head with but...I've never mistreated you once. From the time I got pregnant with you I swore to always be there for you. For sixteen years I have done everything I can for you and your brother because I love you. Just because I love you doesn't mean I have to put up with your disrespect. I'd like to know what your issue with me is, let's talk. You've got the floor." Lulu was angry about this whole situation but, she didn't betray any of that in her tone or over her facial features.
"I'm going to Aunt Claudia's, you're lying if you say that you two give a flying fuck about me or Ian! We're not your property. I can do whatever the hell I want, there's nothing you can do to stop me! I am my own person, I'll run away if I have to! This is child abuse, nailing my windows shut! What if I wanted a cool breeze?" Baleigh crossed her arms, challenging her mother.
"Bales, just stop! Why do you always have to play the victim? Mom is really trying to understand whatever is going on, you never used to act like this. You didn't start until Aunt Claudia came back from Rome! Ever since your fourteenth birthday you've been a damn Trainwreck! Stop stealing dad's guns, stop selling pictures of yourself on the Internet and, stop being a royal bitch to the only parents you'll ever have! They've given you chance after chance to turn all of this around, you're turning into someone I hate. I'm going to bed, goodnight asshole." Ian Zacchara went off on his sister, he'd heard enough of his sister's lies.
"Ian wait...you don't understand." Her blue eyes falter at hearing the truth in her brother's words as his door slammed.
"You're grounded." Johnny says firmly, walking to the room he and Lulu shared.
"Goodnight." Lulu barely looked at her daughter, before following her husband and shutting their door.
"I don't have to take this and I won't." I vowed to myself as I saw the sun starting to rise.
Ian's POV
I buried my face in a pillow and yelled, anger and frustration settling in. I had been talking to Aunt Maxie about everything that was going on, not like mom hadn't already told her. Maxie wasn't my aunt by blood but, she was our godmother and our mother's best friend. I naturally gravitated towards Maxie while my sister was up Claudia's ass. Maxie had told me that maybe I should consider talking to a therapist, I didn't completely hate the idea. I wanted to tell Mom and dad first, I knew they got the best doctors and everything Else. I'd never wanted to get into dad's business, simply because most of the time it made him sad. I hated seeing him that way. I got up from my bed and walked down the carpeted hallway, knocking on their door.
Johnny's POV
We heard a soft knock on our door, we had just settled into bed with the comforter over us.
"Mom, Dad? Are you guys still awake?" Came Ian's voice from the other side of the door.
"Come in." Lulu calls out, the door opens and softly shuts as Ian sits on the edge of their bed.
"What's up, sport?" Johnny asked with a smile.
"I was talking to Aunt Maxie and, I think I should see a therapist. I wanted to tell you guys sooner but, with Baleigh and her shenanigans I wasn't sure it was the right time. I'm still not sure." Ian admitted, Lulu and I shared a look.
"If you think talking to someone will help, then we'll find you a therapist. I just want what's best for you, Ian. That's all I've ever wanted for both of my babies." Lulu squeezes his hand, Johnny couldn't help but smile at his wife.
"Thank you mom." Ian smiled at her.
"I'm on it first thing...well, maybe now. I forgot how late it was." Johnny checks his watch, he would have to be at work in less than an hour.
"Dad, you haven't had any sleep. Neither of you have. Work should be the last thing on your minds. It won't matter if you show up to work if you both pass out from exhaustion." Ian gives both of them knowing looks.
"Well, he does have a point. We aren't getting any younger, Johnny." Lulu gave me a lopsided smile.
"If I'm not going to work, you're not going to school. You've been up just as long as us, let's call it a mental health day." Johnny always having to have the last word.
"I'll take you up on that, I'm really exhausted." Ian stifles a yawn.
"Go to bed baby, get some rest. I'll make you some breakfast too." Lulu ruffles his brown hair.
"I will but, don't hurt yourself mom. You know I like my eggs...not burnt." Ian smirked, earning a playful slap on the arm from Lulu.
"Okay you little asshole." Lulu rolled her eyes.
"Goodnight mom and dad, I love you guys." Ian got off the bed, waving goodnight to them.
"To the moon and back." Lulu smiled as the door shut behind him.
"You're not lifting a finger." Johnny turned onto his side to look at her.
"Johnny, you know that I'm not going to be able to sleep." Lulu sighs, for the first time admitting defeat.
"We've gotta do something. Something is going to end up happening to her, I'm only tough on her because I want better for her. I'm just...she's wasting her life away pretending to be whatever Claudia had molded her into. I pray that nothing happens, it scares me." Johnny squeezed his wife's hand.
"I wonder how Olivia would handle something like this." Lulu ponders, it was obvious her daughter wouldn't listen to either of them. Maybe she might listen to Olivia.
"Anything is worth a shot. If you think that will help, go ahead. I just want to enjoy a day in bed with my sexy wife. Let's just forget about things for a day, we've earned it."
