Chapter 1:Repressed Memories

Mabel's Prospective:

Hi scrapbook my name is Mabel Pines I have a twin named Dipper Pines and this is the story of my summer. We finally came back to gravity falls after a whole year! Everything was going so well! I saw my old friends Candy and Grenda, Dipper got to give Wendy's bomber hat back, and my Grunkles came back for a bit on a break from the trip! Oh yeah Soos got married to his lady friend Melody! But there was one problem all year and summer Dipper had nightmares about Bill. Bill was a bad guy?...triangle either way he started the apocalypse called Weirdmageddon. We defeated him but Dipper frequently visited the statue of Bill left in the forest.

It was the end of summer, our 14th birthday when we started to float… again! I ran to the basement when I realized Dipper was missing! I put the passcode into the vending machine and when I got to the old portal room I saw it wasn't old anymore. The portal was rebuilt and in the middle of it Dipper. I ran towards him but a barrier was up and it knocked me back.

Mabel yelled:Dipper! What are you doing!

Dipper looked back at Mabel:I can't let Bill come back!

Mabel: What are you talking about Bill's gone! Even if he is coming back we can stop him together!

Dipper: Not this time I'm not dragging everyone into Weirdmageddon again! This time I'm doing it on my own! Goodbye Mabel I love you. senip reppid nam eht rebmemer lliw eno ownk lleps siht htiw!

I suddenly woke up the next day knowing I was 14 years old. My name is Mabel Pines and I am an only child.

I've been coming to Gravity Falls since I was 12. My parents sent me to get me out of the house and into the fresh air. I've been through a lot by myself, I've faced a demon and apocalypse without help for some of it but thanks to my grunkles we defeated Bill. I'm now 17 almost 18 and starting college after summer. It's been lonely being an only child but I'm used to it. My grunkles finally finished their boat trip around the world and they have been relaxing in retirement or building stuff. Wendy started a boxing club for all species and humans to learn some self defense. Pacifica has also got into college and strangely become nicer after getting punched in the face with poorness. Candy and Grenda are going to take a gap year and just relax after years of weirdness. Speaking of Candy, let's just say being boy crazy was really just a phase.

I walked into the house. It was the first week of my summer here Wendy seemed to be freaking out and talking to Grunkle Ford.

Wendy: But where is he then it's been 5 years and why was his hat giving off … what you call it?

Stanford sighed: Anomaly radiation and I don't know but he must have done something to erase our memories of him.

I cleared her throat loud enough so they could notice her: What's all the whispering and freaking out about. Who you talking about?

Wendy and Grunkle Ford gave each other a look and then Ford pulled out a blue hat with a pine tree on it.

Stanford: Do you recognize this hat Mabel?

Mabel took the hat and shrugged: It's the one we sell here at the Mystery Shack. What of it?

Stanford: Look inside Mabel.

I looked inside the hat and under the brim was the name Dipper Pines. I suddenly felt a wave of remembrance but couldn't quite place where she knew that name or why it had her last name.

Mabel: So this is the guy you're looking for but who is he?

Wendy then sighed: She must have lost her memories too otherwise we would've known about him missing 5 years ago.

Mabel started getting frustrated: Who are you talking about!? Who is Dipper Pines and why has he been missing 5 years!?

Wendy finally snapped: We are talking about Dipper pines, He is your twin brother you moron, and we don't know why he has been missing or where he is!?

As Wendy started to breath a little heavy I started to freak out a bit. I had a twin brother? Nooo I've been alone my whole life, an only child. Dipper Pines can't be my twin.

Mabel shrugged: Look I don't know who you're talking about Dipper Pines isn't my brother I'm an only child.

Stanford sighed: Look, remember how we tried to complete the Zodiac during Weirdmagden but we had the wrong person and me and Stanley fought?

Mabel: Yeah I don't remember what happened to that guy but yeah.

Stanford looked at Mabel with a serious look: That was a fake memory Dipper was the Pine tree but me and my brother's petty feud made it harder to defeat Bill.

Mabel: You're joking I mean that's not how I remember it and I have a pretty good memory.

Stanford sighed: That's the problem for the last 5 years all our memories of Dipper have been altered as if Dipper never existed. Take a look at this.

Grunkle Stanford took from his trench coat a pink book and handed it to Mabel. It was old and dusty but on it said Mabel's Scrapbook. What is this? My scrapbook is up stairs, but this is my handwriting. I flipped through it and saw pictures of me with some guy who looked nerdy as hell but seeing him made me feel happy and not alone for some reason. That feeling got stronger as memories poured through my head. The time me and Dipper played golf with Pacifca. The time we found out Fiddleford Mcgucket was the Gobblewonker. Our Summerween together, the time we faced little Gideon and saved the shack, or the time we escaped my prison bubble Bill put me in. Then the time Dipper rebuilt the portal and erased my memor-

Mabel slammed the scrapbook to the ground: That knucklehead! He erased our memories before he jumped through the portal.

Stanford looked at her funny: The portal? But it's broken down. I just checked it a couple months ago and Dipper has been gone for 5 years.

Mabel: He must have destroyed it and then hid the scrapbook and his hat. How'd you find those anyway?

Wendy: Ford kept picking up anomaly whatevers and asked me to help find it. We found them where Ford hid the third journal.

Mabel started pacing back and forth in panic: Dipper! I told him we can do it together, that idiot. He said Bill is coming back and he needs to do it himself!

Stanford: Sounds like him but still why would he reactivate the portal that actually could've bought something like or worse than Bill to this dimension. But if he went through the portal he could still be traveling through dimension if he's still alive that is.

Wendy put a hand on the panicking Mabel: Enough Dude you're freaking her out, She just remembered she had a brother let's go get the others and find out what to do next.

Me, Wendy, and Stanford went around helping everyone remember Dipper. Candy and Grenda, remembered easily, and were immediately there for me. Grunkle Stan punched a wall after remembering and calling Dipper a brave but stupid idiot. Soos and Melody started crying after remembering as Soos called himself a bad friend for not remembering him for the last 5 years. Fiddleford had a sad look on his face after having to go through this again, losing memories was nothing new to him. Pacifica just kicked her trash can saying "I can't believe that idiot!" Everyone met up at the portal room as Grunkle Stanford and Fiddleford used their scanner for what they called Dimensional Energy.

Stanley: So what the hell are we gonna do, Dipstick is running around Dimensions right now.

Mabel: Well maybe we can rebuild the portal and get him back like you did Grunkle Stan.

Pacifica: Couldn't that cause Weirdmagdden? I don't want to go through that again, I had to wear a potato sack.

Soos: Dudes we can just leave him in there.

Wendy:Yeah we have to save him. He would do the same for us.

Everyone was arguing about what to do, save Dipper or not. Then Stanford and Fiddleford came back and gave us some news.

Stanford: So we can rebuild the portal without their being a rift but…

Fiddleford: We only have one chance after that Dipper is lost forever.

Everyone had gone quiet but I spoke up: Then lets build it if there won't be a rift then we can get him right?!

Stanford: But does Dipper want to come back? I did but I could've easily just stayed in there how will we know that he comes through. It's been 5 years he's probably different then the Dipper we know.

Mabel: But how will we know if he is different or maybe he realized it was a mistake and is barely surviving. Also I want my brother back. We've been through so much and I love him. He's always been there for me so it's my turn!

Wendy stood up from her spot on the ground: Mabel's right Dipper went to save her when she didn't want to come back but he was still there for her. Now it's our turn.

So we made a plan. We rebuilt the portal and in the meantime made the townsfolk remember Dipper. They all agreed to help since he was one of the ones who saved them multiple times. The Portal we built in no time. To start it we would need everyone from the Zodiac so once we had everyone but Dipper we all stood in front of the Portal. Robbie was still a gloomy dude but he was actually engaged to Tamberine who thanks to Dipper giving her some advice realized Robbie was perfect for her. Gideon had become a mob boss but to help people and protect for free. He also did some Robin Hood stuff all over the world but we were able to get him to come help us.

Mabel stood in front of the portal with Grunkle Staney to her side: What do you think he'll be like. The same or … different.

Stanley put a hand on her shoulder and sighed: I think he'll be somewhat of the same and different it's been 5 years. Maybe lucky like me and your brother will still be the same dork we love.

Everyone came up with us and we all held hands. I had some tears dropping down my face but I was determined. The portal powered up, Lighting had flashed all over and we started floating. I looked at the blue light the portal emitted.

Mabel yelled: We're coming for you Mason!
