The wind was cold and the salty mists flew in her face and horns.
It felt amazing. Cricket and her partner had flown for what had seemed to be forever but now their new home was in sight. She was so close!
.
She hoped the map they sent had lead them straight and true.
.
The distant Kingdoms.
She wondered if her grin could fly her to the stars just by itself.
A thin crust of seawater coated the edge of her glasses but it did not stop her from seeing the magical sight ahead.
.
Her vision beholden a desert stretching with mountains in the distance.
She also saw what she assumed were settlements throughout the dunes, she should go and see them later she thought to herself.
.
A shore of sand stretched left to right as far as the eye could see, the waves crashing on the beach a deep blue. Like her best friend.
.
She turned to Blue, his wings glimmering in the morning sun.
His vision caught her eyes looking at him, as usual he gave her his shy smile.
.
She would never rather be with anyone else than him in this moment.
His talons were trembling a bit, she was not sure it was with fear or excitement.
.
As she landed her talons scooped up sand, Blue followed close behind.
He shook off his paws, sand flying everywhere.
.
What she first noticed was trees. Not ones like the Poison Jungle back at Pantala. Real Trees! Ones with a green shade of leaves and tall trunks!
There was a patuler oak sitting across from them on a small hill in the side of a cliff.
