Flare Lockwood, District One Female.

Wiping the blood off in the snow, she let herself breath in the cold air. The group had taken off as soon as the bloodbath had ended, grabbing what they could before leaving. One of the kills had been hers.

She was happy about that.

A smirk graced her lips as she placed the knife back into her pocket.

"How much longer?" Evander seemed to ask for the hundredth time.

"For the last fucking time, not that much longer. Now quit your complaining or you'll be the next one I take out." Myrcella snarked back, glaring at him.

Laughter filled the air as they finally reached the mansion that lurked in the distance. Opening the door, Myrcella led them in and to the elevator where they took to the top floor.

"I'd say we go hunting now but something tells me that it's only going to get colder as the night goes on. So until we know how it'll be, we'll hunt in the early morning."

Agreement was made and they each took a room and left their things there as they met back up in Myrcella's room.

Flare took a spot on the floor next to the bed, leaning back against it.

She still felt wired and ready to jump at a moment's notice.

"So who killed who?"

"I got Ay from Seven and I think I saw Ikarus get the male from ten." Evander spoke with a smile, wiping his sword off.

"I got that little bitch from twelve, I was going for her ally from seven but she got in the way of her. I can't complain though, it was a good kill and now there is one less person to kill later."

"Flare and I got that brat from three, the kid."

"Damn, I'm surprised he went that easily."

"He was hiding in the tree line, likely waiting for his alliance to come to him. We couldn't have that." Flare spoke with a shrug, as she sighed out.

"Oh, Logan, the one that Ikarus got also killed his district partner."

"Are we surprised about that though? He hated her guts and did say that she would be his first target."

Silence filled the air for a moment.

"I was thinking about our overall plan for us," Flare spoke up and gained everyone's attention on her. "I think we should stick together till the final eight or so and then when it's time we go our own ways. If we run into each other after that, it's kill or be killed."

"No, that's a good plan. In the meantime, we can go pick off tributes one by one. Now, i dont know about y'all but I'm going to take a shower and get this blood off before finding some food. Make sure to lock the doors and keep a weapon on you at all times. I don't think anyone is stupid enough to try to get us in our sleep but you never know."

Only ten other tributes remained in the way of Flare's ultimate plan.

One that would be amazing.

Ikarus Pyxis, District Four Male.

"Thank god you're okay!" Reid rushed at him as he came close enough, arms wrapping around him quickly and then pulling back.

"Don't worry, it's not my blood on me, I got the male from ten. Got my revenge for Ana after all."

"Percy and Astrid are waiting for us a mile away or so. We were thinking about finding a cave tonight and we'll see who's left tomorrow."

Just then, six cannons went off.

"Come on."

They took off into the forest, snow crunching as they ran deeper into the forest.

"We all made it out," Astrid spoke with a grin as they all came together. "Perce and I found a cave deep enough for all of us and maybe even a fire."

True to her words, the cave was deep enough and blocked most of the wind that had been starting to pick up. The fire didn't take long to make and Reid made sure that it wasn't visible in case any tribute came across them.

Silence took over as they all started to process the day that they all had. Ikarus wasn't feeling anything short of pride and glee. He knew that people had to die in order for any of them to get home, it was just how the games were supposed to happen.

Letting out a breath, he suggested that they all look through their packs.

The four of them managed to have a decent amount of things they would need. Sleeping bags, some rations of food as well as iodine and two full water bottles.

"First step is water, the lake is a couple miles south of us and we passed it on our way here. It doesn't look entirely frozen over just yet. Reid and I will get to that now since we don't know how long it'll be before the sun goes fully down."

He made sure to strap his trident to his back as he and his district partner headed out. They didn't talk as they made the trek but he made sure to keep his eye on Reid at all times. Halfway there, he noticed smaller footsteps heading in the direction.

They looked fresh as if the person had just been there. Ikarus nudged Reid and nodded down towards the snow.

"Keep an eye out," She spoke under her breath, almost too faint for him to hear.

"Noted."

They carefully pressed on and he had to stop Reid from taking another step when he saw the females from eight and eleven gathering water. They looked like they had been crying. He could hear someone muttering something about Chloe not making it to their point where they would meet up.

The pair from Four grinned at each other as they pulled their weapons out.

"She didn't make it to y'alls meeting point because she's fucking dead." Ikarus spoke as he stepped forward. The female from eight stepped forward in front of her ally, a sneer on her lips.

"You don't know that."

"Actually I do, I watched as Logan choked the life out of her before killing him myself." He spun his trident around in his hand. "And now we get to kill you both."

Velveta pushed Maleae further behind her. "You need to go, I'll hold them off and make it back to you. I promise!"

"No, I won't leave you."

"Go! Please, I'll see you soon," She all but shoved the woman in the other direction and Ikarus could see tears in both of their eyes as the woman ran in the opposite direction.

Reid was the first one to strike, throwing a knife at the female's arm as she had reached for her own weapon. Ikarus and Reid worked as one as they got in several strikes on Velveta. Of course, she didn't go down easily. Her own knives had swiped against Ikarus' cheek as well as his dominant shoulder.

He retaliated by swiping his own weapon against her chest, watching as blood started to well up and fall.

The final blow came by Reid as she finally managed to get the knife lodged into Velvet's back when she had turned at the last moment to try to flee.

The cannon sounded followed by another one right after.

Ikarus raised a brow.

"Come on, let's get the water and head back. It's almost time to see everyone that's dead."

Delaware Spires, District Six Male

"Okay, we're alive," He let out a hesitant laugh as he and Kassidy took a moment to breathe against a tree. They had grabbed what they could from the bloodbath before taking off for the large building.

A few more minutes of walking, they stepped into it, noting the footprints on the ground.

"The Careers might already be here and if they are, they probably took the top floor." Kassidy mused as they took the elevator to the basement level.

"If they did, we'll need to camp down here, make sure there's something in front of the door." He spoke as he took in the room. It was small, but large enough for the two of them. A single bed and fireplace took up most of the room but as long as it would keep them safe for the night and the next few days, that would be more than enough.

Sitting on the bed, he took a breath of relief.

They had both made it out alive.

Now he just had to deal with the awkwardness that was sure to follow them over the next few days. After all, they really hadn't had a chance to talk about the night before the reaping since they got to the Capitol.

Sylvia Falcon, District Seven Female

Her breath came out in little puffs of white as she finally found a large enough branch for her to stay in. It was cold, but she handled it colder more than once in her life. Once settled, she allowed the tears to fall.

Both of her allies didn't make it to their rendezvous point they had agreed on.

She feared that she was the only one out of the three that made it.

What else could ruin her?

Nothing else could make her feel as low as she felt. It was just like when she lost Perrin. The exact same hopelessness and fear that she felt. Losing her allies hurt just as much as losing him.

She never wiped the tears away, as a beeping noise faintly reached her ears. The parachute landed gracefully on her lap and she quickly turned the noise off, not wanting to draw attention to herself or her location.

Shaking hands opened the container and her free hand slapped over her mouth as she read the note.

"It's a shame that Velveta was killed in the same way that you killed your brother isn't it Sylvia? You really thought that we would never find out, but we did. Why else would we select you for this year's games my dear? Call it karma, and may the odds be ever in your favor. S.M"

They knew.

How did they know?

A sob escaped her and she tried to get away from the damning note sent to her.

Then she felt herself falling.

Of course she had forgotten to strap herself in so that this wouldn't happen.

At least she would be with her brother again. There would be no way she would survive a fall from the height she had been at.

"I'm sorry guys."

The last thing that she thought of before she hit the ground was the quote she had said at the interview just the day before.

"You're never freer than when you're thirty feet off of the ground. Once you begin to fly, you'll never want to land."

Her cannon sounded, as she laid on the ground as if she was sleeping, the only thing off was her neck at an unnatural angle.

Damara Estridge, District Five Female

The sound of one of her quickly made snares going off was what woke her from her dozing against a tree. Eyes snapping open, she grinned ruthlessly as she got up and saw Chive struggling to get out.

"Struggling is pointless," She spoke softly, and the man noticed her then. His weapon was just outside of his grasp.

"Why am I not surprised to see that it's you behind this?"

"Because this is who I am, deep inside and I finally get to let it out." Damara laughed, and twirled one of her stiletto knives in her hand as she moved around him. "It's kind of funny don't you think? That an informer to the Capitol was chosen to be here. Ironic. Thinking that you're safe until you're not."

"My loyalty to the Capitol will be what saves me."

"Wrong. They don't care about you. No one cares about you Chive. To them, you're just another tribute in the Games. They don't care if you live or not, and frankly they'll probably be glad that you're gone."

She stopped in front of him, kneeling down to reach him better as her knife pressed into his arm and dragged down.

"Let's get this started then shall we?"

She never once let up on him, as her knife carved into his skin more times than she could count, and she knew that the Capitol had to be loving this.

"This is to show you that you shouldn't trust anyone." she whispered to his bleeding form, he had since stopped struggling against her.

"Have fun in hell Chive."

His cannon sounded as she slammed her blade into his head.

One down, many to go.

Later that night as she found a safe place to rest, the Panem seal appeared in the sky. The faces of the kid from three was the first to show, soon followed by her district partner which she laughed at. Both from seven were the next ones flashing in the sky, followed by the female from eight.

Surprisingly, both from ten were gone, and Chive as well, along with the female from twelve.

She would wait to see which tribute or alliance she could come across next.

alright! we finish today's updates with night one. it was a lot of fun to write, and congrats if your tribute is still standing at the end of this chapter. now onto the tributes obituaries.

18th place; Velveta Devi, District Eight Female- killed by Ikarus Pyxis and Reid Thasos; Vel my love, you were an absolute joy to write during this. her character was well thought out and i did my best to write her as i could. a part of me intended for her to go on longer in the games but it came to that situation for her, and i tried to honor her preferred death of essentially sacrificing herself so her ally could escape. so thank you to VeryNewToThis for Velveta, she was a blast.

17th Place; Sylvia Falcon, District Seven Female- Death by broken neck; I wont lie, i cried while writing her scene. Sylvia was never one that i intended to go out early, but I couldn't see her making it past the first night. Her death was poetic and i felt i did her right by it. The game maker's note was a last minute add to make it all the more convincing. thank you to the amazing Paradigm for Sylvia, I hope i did you proud by it. At least you still have Reid and Myrcella.

16th Place; Chive Winfield, District Eleven Male- Killed by Damara Estridge; Chive was always a character I felt like i'd never be able to write in the way that he deserved. He was though a different change from the others and I enjoyed writing him for as long as I did. A part of me always figured that if youre an informer for the capitol, you'll never last long in the games because of it. Thank you to VeryNewToThis for Chive, i loved him a lot.
