Astrid Santos, District Nine Female.

Their first plan had failed.

Astrid wasn't even sure how to cope with it. It had been a plan to take out a tribute or two. The blonde sighed out, running her hand through her hair. She had almost, almost gotten one of the two from six but their district partner had to be the one to pull them out of the way before her strike could hit its intended target.

"Still being hard on yourself?" Percy asked as he sat next to her, adding more kindling into their small fire. She let the warmth wash over her and sighed again.

"You know I am," She responded, looking at him out of the corner of her eyes.

"It was a good plan and we all know that. We just never expected for him to come back for her and to act like the hero so to speak."

Astrid rolled her eyes, grabbing the pot that had just been refilled from the lake and placed it on the fire, adding the iodine to purify it. "Chances are, someone else will come across them later tonight and take them out of something."

"Perhaps." Percy mused as he opened his pack and grabbed out the small loaf of bread and a couple pieces of jerky. They ate silently.

"Ikarus and Reid should be back soon, hopefully with something else for us to eat." She spoke up, and he nodded.

"Not many of us left, I can't believe that there's only thirteen of us left. I don't think these games will last much longer at this rate."

"One more step for one of us to get home." she agreed.

She would need to think of a better plan and execute it perfectly if she wanted to stay alive, but something told her that it wouldn't be as simple as that. No matter how badly she wanted it to be like that.

The weather changed that night, once all of them were back safely inside. Reid and Ikarus managed to kill a handful of animals that she had never seen before and they ate as much as they could. Freezing rain as well as snow started to fall, picking up as the night went on.

She offered to take first watch, knowing that she more than likely would not be able to sleep. Besides, it gave her more time to plan out her next move. One that had to work or so help her. Her hands undid her hair to let it rest for a bit, as she added more sticks to the fire to keep it going.

There were thirteen left including then, excluding them there were only nine other tributes hiding out somewhere in the arena. No matter how close she was with her small group, she wouldn't let her feelings, the small ones that were there at least, get in the way of her taking them out if there came a time for it.

As for the other tributes? Astrid was half tempted to let the arena take care of them. Surely there had to be something going on with a couple of the alliances and cracks forming would only grow bigger.

She could take out the Careers, or maybe a part of the careers if it came to it. The only one that was the biggest target for someone like her was Myrcella. But Astrid knew something no one else probably knew.

She knew her strengths and how she fought. And if she could utilize it to her advantage, she could take her down without a second thought.

Astrid would make sure her plan worked this time, come hell or high water.

Because no one wanted to see what she could do if her second plan went to shit.

Damara Esteridge, District Five Female.

Her breath came out in little clouds as she moved to another hiding spot. She knew she had to be getting close to another tribute and knew that it would be time to strike once again. But that would be later. Right now, all she was focused on was getting out of this weather and somewhere where she could lie low for a bit and think.

Damara finally found what looked to be an abandoned cabin, not much larger than her room back at the capitol. From the looks of it, no other tribute had found it yet thankfully. Making sure to shove the cabinet that was alongside the wall, she moved into the kitchen which was stocked with enough food to get her through the next couple days.

Letting out a breath, she found the small fireplace and set on getting a fire started. Once one was lit and warming the small room, she tried the sink which a weak flow of water streamed out of the tap. After adding the rest of the iodine, which still wouldnt be enough she set it in a pot and placed it on the fire.

Hopefully that would take care of anything else that lingered in the liquid.

Damara sank onto the couch and let her head fall back and let her eyes close for a moment.

She needed a plan in motion. One that would make her the star of this game.

Setting traps would be her best bet, ones that could either take a tribute out or one that would capture them and allow her to have some fun with them. Or, one that she was tinkering with, slipping into another alliance's camp and poisoning their food or water supply. Maybe even taking some valuable things so they would be without them.

The possibilities were endless.

Sitting up slightly, she grabbed her back and sat down on the ground and explored what she had left.

Four stiletto knives.

an empty water container.

An empty bottle of iodine, which she would likely toss at some point before she left.

Two bags of nuts.

Half a sleeve of crackers

Five regular throwing knives

A snare making kit, albeit smaller than she would have wanted it to be.

A small vial of an unknown poison with the note of "use it well kid."

The last item was the small first aid kit which Damara hoped that she would never have to use.

It was almost like the pack was really meant for her. Either way, she would use everything to her ability. Smirking to herself, Damara placed everything back in the bag, placing the small vial and her two of her stiletto knives back in. She placed the other two in the pockets of her jacket.

Seeing the water was now boiling, she took it off the fire and set it aside to cool off before she would add it to the container. Tonight would be one of rest and gaining back her energy. Tomorrow? Tomorrow would be another day of setting various traps over the arena. A few mile radius would work for now.

Humming under her breath, she grabbed the sleeve of crackers as well as the snare making kit, set on making the first couple before she got some sleep.

Tomorrow will be an action pack day.

Evander Soren, District Two Male.

They were getting restless that night.

That much he could tell.

They had made the most of the light they had in the arena, setting out to hunt as soon as the light broke. Breakfast had been as they walked and it was silent for the most part. He had taken up trying to joke around but clearly it didn't help in the slightest as Myrcella had pushed him roughly.

That shut him up.

It was around late afternoon that Myrcella muttered that they should turn back and go back to the building. Something about not finding a single tribute for them. Evander hoped that the next day would be one filled with bloodshed, knowing that the game makers had to be bored with the lack of action all day.

Hell, he hated that he hadn't killed anyone since the bloodbath. And he had only killed one tribute during it which meant basically nothing. He would have to change that. He had to.

Evander had to prove himself, not only to his mother, his district but also to himself.

And his Aunt.

He owed her that much.

Tossing in the bed, he breathed out. It was late, but like most nights he found himself able to sleep. His mind was too filled with thoughts of what could happen and what should happen. There were only thirteen of them alive, four of those being his alliance. Sooner or later they would have to disband and then it would be every man for themself.

A part of him was eager to get his strongest competition out of the way.

The other was slightly hesitant, he had gotten to know them and found that he quite liked them.

But it was something he would have to do if he wanted to make it back home to District Two.

Rolling onto his side, he kept one hand on his sword as he found himself slipping off into a dreamless sleep.
