Pokémon: Ash Ketchum's New Adventure
Chapter 8-Fight Night
Serena, Chloe, Goh and Bonnie were at the Pokémon Center, about to eat breakfast, they were waiting for Ash to wake up and come down to the dining room. They also noticed that Clemont was missing too. Serena grew concerned.
"Hey guys." she said, looking around. Chloe stopped and looked at her "What's up, Serena?" Goh asked.
"Have you guys seen Ash and Clemont?" she asked them. Serena was still unsure of their location. Bonnie looked outside after seeing a plume of smoke rise into the air. "They're outside having a Pokémon battle!" She said Goh, Chloe and Serena walked outside and saw them, Ash on their left side of the battlefield, and Clemont was on their right.
"Pikachu, use Thunderbolt on Luxray!" A string of electricity shot from his body, making contact with the Gleam Eyes Pokémon. Clemont watched Pikachu. He needed to think of an attack, and fast!
"Luxray, dodge it then use Wild Charge!" Luxray dodged the attack, Pikachu was on the other side of the battlefield. Pikachu saw Luxray charging at him full speed. "Pikachu, dodge it!" Ash said, Pikachu jumped up and dodged it.
"Pikachu, use iron tail!" Ash said. Pikachu's tail glowed white as he jumped up to attack Luxray. Clemont needed to think of something! "Luxray, use Thunder Fang!" Luxray listened to his command and attacked. The Gleam Eyes Pokémon ran across the battlefield, opened his mouth and bit down on Pikachu.
Ash looked at him, sparks of electricity coursing out of his body, Ash's eyes widened. He knew what had happened.
Pikachu was paralyzed.
Ash knew that this battle was over. Clemont smiled "Alright, Luxray! let's finish this off, use Discharge!" Luxray stored up as much electricity in his body and discharged it onto Pikachu. Ash wasn't going to let that slide, he looked at Luxray. Pikachu dodged it "Good job, Pikachu! Now, let's finish this off with Thunderbolt!"
Pikachu charged up his body and let out a very powerful thunderbolt and onto Clemont's Pokémon, Luxray couldn't handle it, and he fainted.
Clemont looked at the knocked out Pokémon and walked up to him. The gym leader knelt to his Pokémon and looked at him, Luxray opened his eyes and licked him. "Good job, Luxray. take a nice long rest." Clemont said, recalling him into his Poké ball. Ash smiled as he walked over to clemont and gave him a high five.
"That was a good battle, Clemont." Ash said, smiling at his friend. Pikachu jumped on Ash's shoulder and agreed with his best friend. He smiled and petted him. Clemont and Ash walked inside the Pokémon Center, Serena walked up to them both.
"Hey, Serena!" Ash said, she smiled and waved. "How was your practice battle?" Serena asked. Ash smiled. "It was great! getting up at five in the morning and using the Pokémon Center's battlefield was worth it!" he said, Serena smiled. Ash was so full of energy and up to train and battle.
"You guys must be hungry, after you'd checked your Pokémon to Nurse Joy, you guys come to the dining room." Serena said, Ash smiled and nodded. She waved and walked off. Clemont turned to him.
"Ash." Clemont started. "I know that you're not looking into a relationship right now but. I know you like her too." he said.
Ash grew surprised and put his hands up in defense. "Um… N-No I don't." Clemont could tell that he was lying.
"Ash, you held her hand once! how can you not like her!" he said, adjusting his glasses on his face. Ash smiles and shoves his hands into the pockets of his blue basketball shorts. Ash couldn't keep this forever! They did meet up again in 2014, then again when he trained for the PWCS with Goh and Chloe. Ashsmiled, he wanted to go for it. but how was he going to approach her?
The chime was heard. Ash saw an Audino pushing a rolling cart with Pikachu, Nurse Joy placed a Poké Ball on a slot, Clemont grabbed it and put it back onto him, Ash adjusted the collar to his short sleeved jacket and they went off to the dining room to eat.
Ash and his friends were walking around, they did have some time to kill before the gym opened. Ash saw someone from a distance, It was a man being chased.
"Guys! that man needs help!" Bonnie said. The man was being chased by a swarm of Fearow, his Lucario close behind him.
"Pikachu! use Thunderbolt!" Ash called out, Pikachu let out a powerful thunderbolt and zapped the Pokémon, the swarm of Fearow flew off into the cloudless sky, the man and his Lucario walked up to him. "Thank you so much!" the man said, Ash smiled and rubbed the back of his head. "It's nothing," he said.
"You saved my life." Goh was confused. He didn't know why he didn't use his Lucario to attack the Fearow that were chasing them.
"Why didn't you use your Pokémon to attack them?" Goh asked.
"We did." The man said. "But, when we got away, they chased us and we ended up here." he said, wiping the beads of sweat off his forehead with his fingers. Lucario grabbed a large water bottle that was in his backpack and handed it to the man. He looked at Ash and his friends and recognized him instantly.
"Your Ash Ketchum!" he said, smiling at the man. Ash smiles back. "Where were you heading, oh, what's your name?"
"My name is, Alain. and I'm headed to my next Gym battle." the man said. Ash smiled and nodded. "Were headed to the Jerusalem Gym."
"Oh! you're competing in the Pokélite too?" He asked. Ash smiled and nodded. He was excited to battle trainers here who are just as passionate as him about Pokémon. No doubt that the World Champion was very excited for the league, he needed to train, the champion here does have the third strongest Pokémon team in the world.
"Awesome!" the man said as he shook his hand.
"Bye, Alain! I'll see you when we go to the league!" Ash said, then they all walked off.
They ran into Tomer again. Ash saw him training at an outdoor battlefield with his Pokémon.
"Ash! His Umbreon is shiny!" Goh said. Ash saw his Pokémon. His Umbreon was all black with blue stripes instead of yellow. Ash smiled and wanted to watch him battle.
"Umbreon, use Tackle on Metagross! Metagross, use Hyper Beam!"
Umbreon ran full speed onto the battlefield, and tried to hit his teammate. Metagross dodged it and used Hyper Beam on the Eeveelution. Ash and his friends watched from a distance as this battle was happening. His umbreon jumped up and tackled Metagross. His Pokémon went down with a thud, then he wasn't going anymore.
"Metagross return!" He said, holding up his wrist and tapping his iWatch, it displayed a transparent screen, as he swiped his finger to get to his Poké Ball. Tomer flipped his hand over as a tiny hole opened up to reveal a marble sized Poké Ball designed by Professor Klein.
He pressed it, holding it in his hand, a string of red light came shooting out of it and recalled his Pokémon back in. He then summoned out another marble sized Poké Ball and recalled his Umbreon. Ash looked at him and recalled two other Pokémon from his roster. He threw up his two Poké Balls and they opened.
"Woah! He has a Zekrom!" Goh exclaimed.
"That's AWESOME!" Ash said in excitement.
Zekrom went to the other side of the battlefield, Dragonite stayed on Tomer's side. "Zekrom, use Stone Edge!"
"That's not good." Goh said.
Zekrom attacked, the Legendary Pokémon used the move, causing rocks to shoot out of the earth and hit Dragonite, "Dragonite, use Thunder Punch, Zekrom, dodge it then use Dragon Claw!"
The two Pokémon clashed with immense power, Ash was impressed by this battle. The rest… Were scared.
"Ash, how can you be impressed?! He has a Legendary Pokémon on his team!" Goh Exclaimed. "This isn't like Leon's battle!"
"But, I actually had a battle like this with a trainer named Tobias. Sure, he used all legendaries to defeat me, and I didn't see his other six Pokémon, but. I think I can take him." Ash said, sill watching.
"He's hopeless…" Bonnie said.
"He's being optimistic, Bonnie." Chloe said.
"Whatever…. He's still dense as ever." she said. Goh laughed at that.
"Dragonite, use Thunder Punch, again. Zekrom, use Bolt Strike!"
Dragonite's hand lit up with thunder as Zekrom's body charged up with electricity. Ash smiled and watched as Zekrom hit Dragonite, Dragonite couldn't get out of the way in time as he was knocked out.
"Dragonite!" he said, recalling his Pokémon. "You did a good job." he said, Tomer saw Ash and his friends watching. "Hey, guys!" he said, walking over to the fence, looking through the holes. Clemont saw his arm. He noticed that he can control his Pokémon through his watch.
"You can control your Pokémon through your watch?!" he asked. Tomer nodded. "Yeah! and I have a holographic screen that lets me pick out my Pokémon, see?" he showed them, he
touched the screen as a holographic screen popped up, they saw six Poké balls in a circle. When you touch each Poké ball the Pokémon comes out through a tiny hole that was designed into the watch.
"That's amazing! and who designed this tech?" Goh asked.
"Professor Klein, he's the Professor in Tel Aviv. He designed this for me, and I'm getting something else from him too, they are called Pokémon summon gloves." Clemont was in awe.
"That's incredible!" Clemont said in awe
"Science is so amazing!" Ash said. Bonnie rolled her eyes, Ash hasn't changed a bit.
"If you want, I can take you to where the Pokélite is, today is…. Thursday, so tomorrow you can come to my house in Tel Aviv, or. how about you come later after your battle in Jerusalem. Or, I can take you guys and I can watch Ash battle."
"Awesome!" the world champion said, Serena smiled and touched his shoulder. "Let's go! I;m fired up!"
They went to his black 2023 Audi Q8 — but they had a problem. there were more then five people. "Wait. we can't fit seven people here. How are we going to do this?"
"We can fit two people in the trunk, that's illegal!"
"Mmmm, Ash and Goh can take a cab to Jerusalem and were can go with Tomer." Bonnie said, Clemont nodded then they went to his car. Ash and Goh went into the cab to the Gym.
"Where are you guys going?" the driver asked.
"We're going to the Jerusalem Gym. I'm getting my third gym badge today!" Ash said, putting on his seatbelt. Goh put on his seatbelt too and they went to the Gym. When they were driving, the man decided to make small talk with them.
"Hey! aren't you the World Champion?" he asked, talking about Ash. Ash smiled and nodded. "Yes I am! and I'm going to compete in the Pokélite!" Ash smiled. The man also smiled as he drove. Goh looked out the window and saw people walking with their Pokémon, some people were flying on their flying type Pokémon as well, Ash opened the window as he saw his friends inside the champion's black Audi Q8.
The speakers were blaring a band that he recognized was System Of A Down. Ash smiled and looked at the passenger side window, it was open. Pikachu had his paws on his trainer's lap and looked out the window from the cab.
"You like the drive buddy?" Ash asked. Pikachu nodded and looked at the vehicle next to theirs.
"Pikachu likes it." Goh said, leaning towards them. "Excuse me? can you turn the air on, it's warm here."
"Yes I can." he smiled as he did that.
A few minutes later, they were there. Ash gave him some money and they walked out. Ash looked at the gym. it was huge with an open ceiling, two flights of stairs were visible. It wasn't as big as Rose Stadium. But, it was large enough to be a flying type gym.
The car parked next to Ash and Goh. Tomer opened the door and stepped out of his car, as well as everyone else. Ash went up the stairs then the sliding doors opened. Ash saw the lobby, it wasn't as big as the one in Galar. But it was decent. Ash and everyone went inside the battlefield. The building was large. Ash liked the energy here. He smiled and a woman walked into the gym.
"Hi! you must be Ash!" she smiled and shook his hand. Ash smiled.
"That's me, are you the Gym Leader?" he asked. She smiled again.
"Yes, I am. Ready to do this?" Ash nodded and they stood on two platforms.
A man wearing a black Pokélite polo shirt complete with the gym logo above the word written in Hebrew walked to the center and cleared his throat. "The battle between Shirrel the Gym Leader and Ash, the challenger is about to begin, each trainer will use two Pokémon, the battle will be over when either side's Pokémon are able to continue, trainers! bring out your Pokémon!"
Tomer looked onward, Goh saw the determination in the champion's eyes. Ash brought out his first Pokémon
"Dragonite! I choose you!' he said. Dragonite popped out, she was ready to go. The Gym Leader brought out her Pokémon.
"Gallade, secure a victory for us!" she said, throwing her Poké ball into the air. Out came her Pokémon, he was as determined as Ash's Dragonite was. Shirrel and Ash looked onward onto the battlefield. "Battle begin!" the ref yelled out, throwing down both arms to signal the battle was getting underway.
"Dragonite, use Hyper Beam!" A powerful beam of energy shot out of her mouth and it hit Gallade with ease. She put her hands over her face to cover herself from the smoke. Ash was serious.
"Gallade, Double Team, then use Leaf Blade!" Gallade turned into copies of himself, surrounding Dragonite. Ash saw multiple openings and took it to his advantage. "Dragonite, fly up and use Hyper Beam to take out Gallade's Double Team!" Dragonite did as commanded and she let out a powerful Hyper Beam, it took out the copies of her Pokémon — including the real one. And just before Gallade could even land a hit on Dragonite!
"Gallade, can you still battle?" she asked. The Blade Pokémon nodded. "Then Let's do this! Gallade, Mega Evolve!" she said, touching two fingers on the Tiara that was on the side of her head. it lit up and her Pokémon started Mega Evolving.
"Woah!" Goh said, looking at the heated battle before him. Ash knew what to do, since flying types were weak to fighting, Ash had the perfect strategy for this.
"Dragonite, fly up again, then use Hyper Beam again, then use Dragon Claw!"
"What is he doing?!" Tomer asked. "He can't use Dragon Type moves on a fighting type!"
"But." Clemont said. "This is Ash Ketchum were talking about! he has a strategy for battling." Israel's Champion nodded as he watched the battle unfold. "Do it!" Ash said Dragonite came down on Mega Gallade with a critical hit. The smoke cleared and the swirls in Gallade's eyes said it all before the Pokémon reverted back into his pre mega form.
"Gallade is unable to battle! and that means Dragonite wins!" the ref said. Ash grinned, then his Pokémon tackled her trainer, smiling as the two hugged. Dragonite got off her trainer as Ash returned her to her Poké Ball.
Still with a serious expression, he pulled out his second Poké Ball.
"Wait, why's he returning Dragonite?" Serena asked, looking at her childhood crush, holding another Poké Ball in his hand. She looked out onto the battlefield as Ash released His other Pokémon.
"Infernape, secure a victory for us!" she said
"Dude, what is she doing?!" Tomer asked.
"Maybe it's a part of her strategy." Goh pushed some hair out of his face.
"This is crazy!" Serena said. Chloe nodded in agreement. This was strange, but again. This is Ash they're friends with.
"Dracovish, use Water Gun!" Ash said, a large amount of water came out of the Water/Dragon type's mouth, Infernape got hit pretty bad because of it. But, Infernape's body absorbed the water.
"How?!" Bonnie asked.
"Well you see, Bonnie. water evaporates into steam-"
"And, I'm already bored…" Bonnie told her brother. Clemont sighed in defeat and watched the battle.
Ash is going to win for sure. I can feel it… Goh thought to himself.
Ash called out another attack. "Dracovish, use Fishious Rend!" Dracovish's mouth turned blue as he ran across the battlefield, ready to clamp down on the Gym Leader's Pokémon and secure another victory, and get themselves another badge under their belts.
Before Shirrel can do anything, The Water\Dragon type went for it and went for the attack. He clamped down on Infernape's head, causing the Flame Pokémon to go limp. and drop it his knees.
Shirrel looked down at her Pokémon in horror as she looked at the Pokélite referee to make the call.
"Infernape is unable to battle, so the match goes to Dracovish!" the man said as he motioned his left arm over to Ash's side of the Gym. Ash smiled, ran up to his Pokémon snd hugged him. Pikachu, who was sitting in Serena's arms, jumped up and ran over to Ash.
"Pika-Pi!" He called his name, Ash smiled and opened his arms, Pikachu jumped up as Ash wrapped his arms around him and hugged him, Pikachu felt his trainer's body heat. Pikachu smiled as he saw Shirrel walk up with a badge in her hand, it was a gold badge that was shaped like two fists.
"Ash, as proof for battling me in the Jerusalem Gym, I present you, the boxing badge
Ash smiled as he held it up. "Alright! I just got the boxing badge!" His friends walked up to him, Goh clapped him on the shoulder, Serena hugged him and smiled. "I'm glad you won your third gym, Ash." she smiled, Ash smiled back and hugged her. His warm body caused her to blush instantly.
"Come on guys, lunch is on me!" Tomer said. They all cheered as they left the gym, another battle behind them.
They went to a restaurant located next to the gym. Ash and the others went inside to get a table. "Hello, table for seven please." Tomer said.
The hostess smiled at both Pokémon Champions as she grabbed some menus. They all went to the dining room and sat at a table big enough for seven people.
"So, Ash. I watched the Alola League on TV back in 2019. And… You were just. Incredible! When your Lycanroc went up against Gladion's, it was INCREDIBLE! By the way, how's the Professor?" Tomer asked, eating his food.
"He's alright. I think I'm going to call him tonight to see how he's doing and my other friends. Probably say hi to my brother Lei."
"Lei?"
"Yeah, Ash has a brother named Lei when we went to the Alola Region again." \
"You have a brother?!" Tomer asked, taking a sip of his Pinap juice.
"Yeah. You keep up with the Masked Royal right?"
Tomer nodded. "I follow his Instagram."
Ash nodded as he ate a french fry. "Yeah, that's my teacher." Tomer nodded and turned off his phone and put it in his jeans pocket. Ash looked at Serena, Serena was thinking.
I know that you're not looking into a relationship right now but. I know you like her too. Clemont's voice rang inside his head. Ash sighed, he wanted to tell Serena…. But he just doesn't know when.
"What are you thinking about?" Goh asked him, clapping a hand on his friend's shudder, Ash looked at him as he smiled and adjusted his hat. "It's nothing, Goh." He nodded and kept eating his burger.
The drive back to Tomer's house wasn't bad. Ash and Goh got to ride in his car, the house was Just up ahead.
Ash and his friends see his home, a modern house with white exterior and wooden deck. The house has a large glass window that allows natural light to enter the interior.
There is a large wooden deck on the front of the house and a seating area with tan cushions on the chairs and a wooden table. The trees on the lawn and the greenery in the background add to the serene atmosphere of the image. The house is surrounded by green trees and has a small garden area in front of it.
The architecture of the house is modern and minimalist, with clean lines and simple shapes. The use of white and natural materials gives the house a bright and airy appearance.
"Wow!" Ash said as he was shocked and amazed by how large the size of it was. "This is amazing!" Serena said in awe and disbelief.
"Thank you. My friends and I live here." he said Ash smiled as he got out of the car. A cab pulled up as Chloe and Bonnie got out of the cab, Dedenne popped out of Bonnie's bag.
Tomer walked up to the front and unlocked the door and pushed open the large glass panel that made up the entryway to the house.
They then stumble to see a modern living room with an open floor plan, large windows, and high ceilings. The walls are painted white, and there is a wooden staircase leading to the second floor. The flooring is made of hardwood and the furniture is minimalistic. The room is spacious and bright, with views of a swimming pool outside. On the side of the pool, was a large battlefield completed with the same wooden floors for the entrance. There are two large windows on either side of the room, allowing for natural light to flood in. The staircase leads to the second floor, where there is a balcony overlooking the swimming pool, jacuzzi and Pokémon Battlefield.
"WOW!" Ash said as he ran outside and saw the pool, his friends went and took a look too and they gasped at how beautiful it was!
A modern, swimming pool in the middle. Has a large deck area with sun loungers and a dining table. The pool area is surrounded by lush greenery and the home appears to be surrounded by trees. It also has large windows and doors that provide an excellent view of the surrounding area. Ash looked at the gold painted battlefield that was downstairs — Similar to Lillie's Pokémon Battlefield that was in Alola.
"Dude, this is amazing." Ash said.
"Yeah, and check it out-" he pointed up to the ceilings "-There's speakers connected to the ceiling, so my phone can play music from the house, everywhere."
"Okay, that's so cool!" Ash said. "And can anyone connect to the house?"
"Yeah, they can."
"This is so cool! Hey Tomer. Let's have a battle!" Ash said. Ash's eyes widened as he was excited. Serena smiled and blushed as she saw her friend. Tomer chuckled also as he couldn't say no to that.
"This is a one on one battle! trainers bring out your Pokémon!" Clemont said.
Tomer took out his phone and put on some music. The song was For Whom The Bell Tolls by Metallica. Tomer tapped his watch twice as a screen popped up. the wheel that they saw before popped up again. He chose his Pokémon as a Marble sized Poke Ball slipped out and dropped into his hand. He pressed the button to make it bigger and he threw it.
"Metagross, go!"
Metagross popped out as he was ready. The Iron Leg Pokémon bang his fists together, Tomer crosses his arms as he looks at Ash.
"Lucario! I choose you!"
"What is he doing?! He knows that fighting is weak against physic!" Serena said.
"But." Goh interjected. "Lucario is strong against steel, since he is fighting-steel." Serena nodded as she and her friends watched from the sidelines.
"Battle begin!"
