11/10/23: I have changed the dialogue in Chapter 1 with the Alola League to World Coronation Series.
Day 7
Staraptor seemed to be a firm parent much like Noctowl but was also easygoing for the most part. The Predator Pokémon had only two hatchlings but when Ash met them they could have the potential to be strong Flying-types. The Sinnoh bird of prey gestured his wings to the offsprings and gave them their introductions.
[Murkrow, the Darkness Pokémon. Seen as a symbol of bad luck, it's generally disliked. Yet it gives presents—objects that sparkle or shine—to Trainers it's close to.
Gender: Male
Ability: Super Luck
Moves: Peck, Astonish, Gust, Wing Attack, Night Shade, Assurance]
Murkrow did not have a mischievous attitude like many he had encountered, instead he was more docile and tame. The Predator Pokémon must of had a stern teaching with the Darkness Pokémon chick to prevent the devious habits from developing. Ash recalled how skilled Honchkrows are during his journey, most notable Paul's, and the Pallet Town native gave the Johto crow a nice stroke through his wings which made the crow caw with joy.
[Vullaby, the Diapered Pokémon. Its wings are too tiny to allow it to fly. As the time approaches for it to evolve, it discards the bones it was wearing.
Gender: Female
Ability: Overcoat
Moves: Gust, Leer, Flatter, Pluck, Tailwind, Knock Off]
Vullaby seemed pouty, probably due to the fact she couldn't fly just yet. Staraptor helped her by allowing her to fly on her back. The diapered vulture seemed to be embarrassed by her inability to fly but Ash reassured the Diapered Pokémon that he promised her to train and evolve to fly on her own, knowing that she evolves into a Mandibuzz.
Torterra lumbered over to Ash, his offspring either on his back for playing or walking beside him. It made sense to the trainer, considering how the Continent Pokémon's shell was kinda like a playground for the children plus the Grass/Ground-type was gentle with them. The Sinnoh Grass starter gave each of his kids the encouragement to introduce themselves to Ash which he welcomed.
[Budew, the Bud Pokémon. This Pokémon is highly sensitive to temperature changes. When its bud starts to open, that means spring is right around the corner.
Gender: Female
Ability: Natural Cure
Moves: Absorb, Growth, Stun Spore, Worry Seed]
Budew was a small bundle of joy. She nuzzled up against Ash's leg and purred like Bulbasaur's Oddish did when he first officially met the Weed Pokémon. Petting the 'bud' part of the sprout, the Sinnoh Grass/Poison had battle potential as the idea of a Roserade entered Ash's mind for his team.
[Cottonee, the Cotton Puff Pokémon. To protect itself, it shoots cotton from its body. When it gets wet in the rain, its cotton grows moist and heavy, and it can't move as well.
Gender: Female
Ability: Prankster
Moves: Helping Hand, Fairy Wind, Stun Spore, Razor Leaf, Growth, Poison Powder, Giga Drain, Charm]
Cottonee hovered around the trainer then nuzzled up to him. The Unova Grass/Fairy-type was cheerful and lively, floating along breezes as if he was dancing. The Cotton Puff Pokémon was not one Ash ever thought of catching but he welcomed the sentient cotton with open arms.
[Petilil, the Bulb Pokémon. The deeper the color of a Petilil's leaves, the healthier the Pokémon is. Petilil sometimes makes its home in a well-tended field or flowerbed.
Gender: Female
Ability: Leaf Guard
Moves: Growth, Helping Hand, Stun Spore, Giga Drain, Aromatherapy, Magical Leaf, Sleep Powder, Giga Drain, Leech Seed]
Petilil was shy, hiding behind her father's leg. The Continent Pokémon nudged her slowly which allowed the Unova Bulb Pokémon to warm up instantly. Ash even cradled her, making the light green bulb croon in admiration.
[Ferroseed, the Thorn Seed Pokémon. It defends itself by launching spikes, but its aim isn't very good at first. Only after a lot of practice will it improve.
Gender: Male
Ability: Iron Barbs
Moves: Iron Head, Harden, Pin Missile, Ingrain, Flash Cannon]
Ferroseed had to be handled with caution due to the spikes. It seemed to make the Thorn Seed Pokémon unhappy that he was sharp in his coat. But Ash still attempted to encourage him without contact. If the Grass/Steel-type evolved, he would have to learn to fight defensively like his dad. Not that Ash minded, he began to think about some defense tactics for some of his Pokémon now.
[Snover, the Frost Tree Pokémon. In the spring, it grows berries with the texture of frozen treats around its belly.
Gender: Male
Ability: Snow Warning
Moves: Leer, Icy Wind, Razor Leaf, Mist, Ice Shard]
Snover liked to practice his Ice-type moves but Torterra was often a victim. The Continent Pokémon, thanks to his defense, was able to endure each attack before both praising and scolding his Grass/Ice-type child. Ash thought back to how powerful Abomasnows can be with his battles against Candice and Wulfric, the latter using Mega Evolution, and got the trainer excited if the Frost Tree Pokémon decided to evolve.
[Phantump, the Stump Pokémon. An unknown spirit came to lodge in a tree stump, creating this Pokémon. A cure-all can be made from an infusion of its green leaves.
Gender: Male
Ability: Frisk
Moves: Astonish, Branch Poke, Leech Seed, Confuse Ray, Will-O-Wisp, Hex, Growth]
Phantump shared Petilil's bashfulness at first, hiding in the Grass/Ground-type's tree. Ash took it slow which made the tree spirit warm up and enjoy the boy. Thinking about, Ash wanted the Stump Pokémon on his Kalos journey but never caught one. Phantump was also very close to his cousin Pumpakoo, possibly due to typing or region origin.
[Pansage, the Grass Monkey Pokémon. It shares the leaf on its head with weary-looking Pokémon. These leaves are known to relieve stress.
Gender: Male
Ability: Gluttony; Overgrow (Hidden Ability)
Moves: Fury Swipes, Leer, Lick, Vine Whip, Bite, Seed Bomb]
Pansage preferred to be arboreal, which is why he was in Torterra's tree. The Grass Monkey Pokémon was hyper, all over the place that made Ash and Pikachu exhausted to catch up. Recalling Cilan's Pansage, his was more reserved and calm but then Ketchum remembered how efficient the Grass-type simian was during his Unova journey so he was excited to have the Unovan monkey on his team.
[Cacnea, the Cactus Pokémon. The more arid and harsh the environment, the more pretty and fragrant a flower Cacnea grows. This Pokémon battles by wildly swinging its thorny arms.
Gender: Male
Ability: Sand Veil
Moves: Leer, Sand Attack, Absorb, Leech Seed, Poison Jab, Ingrain, Payback]
Cancea jumped into Ash's arms... making the trainer cringe in pain due to the thorns. Torterra had to tell his Cactus Pokémon to disengage his thorns which made the living cactus apologize to his trainer. The boy reassured him it was fine -having endured multiple Pokémon attacks over his journeys- and thought about having the desert-dwelling Pokémon evolving into a Cacturne if he desired it.
[Grookey, the Chimp Pokémon. When it uses its special stick to strike up a beat, the sound waves produced carry revitalizing energy to the plants and flowers in the area.
Gender: Male
Ability: Overgrow, Grassy Surge (Hidden Ability)
Moves: Scratch, Growl, Branch Poke, Taunt, Razor Leaf]
Much like Goh's Grookey, Torterra's was rambunctious. The green monkey clambered all over his father, tapping his stick eagerly. A deep grumble from the Continent Pokémon made the chimp cease his antics but not without a few taps. While Torterra rolled his eyes, Ash greeted Grookey. The Chimp Pokémon proceeded to clamber all over the trainer to his gusto.
Infernape trained with his infants, wanting them to turn out strong like he was. His fathering methods were like Primeape and even the Pig Monkey's litter joined in on training with their uncle Infernape, let alone some of Infernape's other nieces and nephews too. The Fire-type simian didn't strain them, knowing their limits to help them refrain from going overboard. Each of his infants made Ash go eye wide at seeing the offsprings before scanning them as they introduced themselves.
[Pansear, the High Temp Pokémon. Very intelligent, it roasts berries before eating them. It likes to help people.
Gender: Male
Ability: Gluttony, Blaze (Hidden Ability)
Moves: Fury Swipes, Leer, Lick, Incinerate, Bite, Flame Burst]
Pansear was vivid, hopping all over the area. Infernape did his best to reprimand the Unovan Fire-type from bouncing which took a long time until the High Temp Pokémon was able to relax himself and admire his trainer. Ash shook hands with the Unovan simian which resulted in the pure Fire-type to shake it ecstatic.
[Torchic, the Chick Pokémon. It has a flame sac inside its belly that perpetually burns. It feels warm if it is hugged.
Gender: Male
Ability: Blaze; Speed Boost (Hidden Ability)
Moves: Scratch, Growl, Quick Attack, Ember, Flame Charge, Detect, Sand Attack]
Torchic was extremely rambunctious, practically battle-hungry. Knowing from firsthand experience that Blazikens happen to be strong and agile, the trainer was happy with the Chick Pokémon. The Hoenn Fire starter chirped with a grateful tone and went back to training with his feet at the moment.
[Meditite, the Meditate Pokémon. Meditite heightens its inner energy through meditation. It survives on just one berry a day. Minimal eating is another aspect of this Pokémon's training.
Gender: Female
Ability: Telepathy
Moves: Low Kick, Confusion, Detect, Endure, Feint, Force Palm, Psybeam, Calm Mind, Mind Reader]
Meditite was the calmest of Infernape's children as he meditated like the Pokédex said. The Meditate Pokémon only opened one eye, assessing the trainer before resuming back to his meditation. Ash remembered how the Fighting/Psychic-type had a meditative-like fighting style, which he didn't mind. In fact, he found it quite fitting.
[Buneary, the Rabbit Pokémon. It slams foes by sharply uncoiling its rolled ears. It stings enough to make a grown-up cry in pain.
Gender: Female
Ability: Run Away
Moves: Pound, Defense Curl, Baby Doll Eyes, Quick Attack, Double Kick, Charm]
Buneary was, surprisingly, up for a fight. Ash and Pikachu never met a more spirited Rabbit Pokémon that was often used for contests, at least what they know of. The Sinnoh lagomorph was more than a cute face, she wanted to be as strong as her dad.
[Mienfoo, the Martial Arts Pokémon. It takes pride in the speed at which it can use moves. What it loses in power, it makes up for in quantity.
Gender: Male
Ability: Inner Focus
Moves: Detect, Pound, Fake Out, Reversal, Fury Swipes, Quick Guard, Force Palm]
Mienfoo had a fighting style like his sibling, Meditite. He didn't mediate as much though, as he preferred to practice offensively. As usual, Ash had no issues with it, liking the bipedal weasel and never considered having the Martial Arts Pokémon on his team.
[Ralts, the Feeling Pokémon. The horns on its head provide a strong power that enables it to sense people's emotions.
Gender: Male
Ability: Synchronize
Moves: Disarming Voice, Double Team, Confusion, Hypnosis, Draining Kiss]
Infernape's Ralts wasn't like Haunter's, this one wanting to battle more. He trained alongside his siblings with his Psychic-type moves. The Pallet Town native wasn't sure why this was but he openly welcomed it.
[Tyrogue, the Scuffle Pokémon. It is always bursting with energy. To make itself stronger, it keeps on fighting even if it loses.
Gender(s): Male x2
Ability: Guts (x2)
Moves: Tackle, Helping Hand, Fake Out, Focus Energy]
Oak informed Ash that Infernape adopted these two as they seemed to be wanted, which made the boy frown. However, the twin Tyrogues aimed to please. They were often sparring with one another. Infernape lectured them on their attacks, working on offense and defense. The twin Scuffle Pokémon wanted to get stronger and did as they were told, doing a few air punches and kicks that Ash watched. He began to think about how the Hitmon line was a Pokémon he had wanted but never found in the wild.
[Drowzee, the Hypnosis Pokémon. It can tell what people are dreaming by sniffing with its big nose. It loves fun dreams.
Gender: Male
Ability: Forewarn
Moves: Pound, Hypnosis, Disable, Confusion, Headbutt, Poison Gas]
Unlike the many Drowzee Ash has encountered, this one was not... evil in a sense. The Hypnosis Pokémon must have been older as he worked with his little brother Ralts with his psychic powers. The thought of having the yellow tapir on his team wasn't one to cross his mind.
[Makuhita, the Guts Pokémon. Their daily routine consists of training together first thing in the morning, eating and napping in the afternoon, and then more training afterward.
Gender: Male
Ability: Thick Fat
Moves: Fake Out, Focus Energy, Sand Attack, Arm Thrust, Force Palm, Knock Off]
Makuhita was practicing tanking hits while in a stance, even hitting hard. The Guts Pokémon was like Snorlax in a sense with this method. The idea of the Hoenn pure Fighting-type was great as he was great with offense and defense in Ash's eyes.
[Magby, the Live Coal Pokémon. Magby's state of health is determined by observing the fire it breathes. If the Pokémon is spouting yellow flames from its mouth, it is in good health. When it is fatigued, black smoke will be mixed in with the flames.
Gender: Male
Ability: Flame Body
Moves: Clear Smog, Leer, Ember, Smokescreen, Flame Wheel, Confuse Ray]
Magby practiced his Fire-type moves with his father. The Live Coal Pokémon worked on his accuracy and precision as the Sinnoh simian worked on improving the red bipedal Pokémon. Other than his wanting to be strong the Fire-type baby was cheerful and liked to be recognized. Ash rubbed the lumps of Magby, thinking about a potential Magmortar, a Pokémon that he has wanted.
[Elekid, the Electric Pokémon. Spinning its arms around to generate electricity makes the area between its horns shine light blue.
Gender: Male
Ability: Static
Moves: Quick Attack, Leer, Charge, Swift, Shock Wave, Thunder Wave, Screech]
Infernape's Elekid brought memories of Paul's Electivire. The young Electric Pokémon proved he liked to train himself with his Electric-type attributes. Pikachu was fond of the yellow bipedal Pokémon since he had always faced them, never thinking about having one as a nephew. But regardless, the Electric Pokémon instantly grew a bond with his mouse uncle in learning his moves.
[Scorbunny, the Rabbit Pokémon. It has special pads on the backs of its feet, and one on its nose. Once it's raring to fight, these pads radiate tremendous heat.
Gender: Female
Ability: Blaze, Libero (Hidden Ability)
Moves: Ember, Growl, Quick Attack, Double Kick, Flame Charge]
Ash wasn't a stranger to Scorbunny. After all, Goh had the same experience before he obtained Cinderace. The Galarian rabbit threw a few punches before running circles around her father and trainer. She had a proud expression on her face, having displayed her prowess.
[Charcadet, the Fire Child Pokémon. Its firepower increases when it fights, reaching over 1,800 degrees Fahrenheit. It likes berries that are rich in fat.
Gender(s): Male (x2)
Ability: Flame Body (x2)
Moves: Ember, Leer, Astonish, Clear Smog, Fire Spin, Will-O-Wisp, Night Shade]
The Charcadet twins were competitive with one another, vying to be better than the other. Infernape often had to break them up, to both cease overexerting themselves and their twin squabbles. The fire children managed to settle their grudge before posing for Ash. The World Champion discovered they have two different evolutions: Ceruledge and Armorouge. Ash was not sure which would evolve into which but he was excited to see what would happen.
A/N: Added Grookey to Torterra's, Scorbunny and Characadet twins to Infernape's.
