Chapter 16:
Kurvos, an enemy of Goku and Vegeta Jr's past has come back with vengeance in his eyes. But, Goku Jr's determination and spirit is unwavering as he stares down his enemy from thirty years ago. Kurvos breaks the silence between the two: "It's finally time to turn the tables my favor, Goku…I can't wait to see your blood spilled on this rock." Goku Jr retaliates immediately to that statement: "You won't win Kurvos. Unlike last time, I will make sure that you never make it out of this one alive." Kurvos smirks before chuckling at that remark: "I'd like to see you try. In the name of the Junsui-Jin Empire, I will make sure that you are eradicated here and now…"
Goku Jr sees the others in the area and notes that they don't want to have any outside interference: "Alright you guys! Don't interfere in this battle!" Oritsu looks over to see Goku Jr and Kurvos in the sky: "Hate to be the one to ask, but how come?" Goku Jr tells the others: "This is a fight where I won't hold back. I don't want you guys becoming collateral damage" Vejin shrugs this off and remarks to himself: "The old man is finally dusting off the gloves, eh? This is gonna be interesting" Ryuko, naturally, is slightly worried that his grandfather has begun to fight seriously once again after not doing so for years.
Kurvos begins to grow excited as he grasps his spear tight: "This fight..Will finally be the deciding factor between us. YOU WILL FALL HERE, GOKU!" He spins his spear around before going in for a strike at Goku Jr. Goku Jr quickly blocks the attack with both hands. The resulting clash would leave shockwaves in the area, blowing everyone back except for Vejin, Ryuko, and Kobra. Goku Jr and Kurvos were very even with their blows, each punch, kick, and the occasional spear strike from Kurvos would all be seen before their very eyes. But, Kurvos appears to be gaining an edge over Goku Jr. He's improving at an exponential rate as he kicks Goku Jr down and past our fighters. He then gets slammed into the mountainside.
Ryuko immediately flies over to Goku Jr who is concerned for his grandfather: "GRANDPAAAA!" Goku Jr clears the rubble around him with a swift burst of ki before saying in a firm voice: "Ryuko! You need to stay out of this fight!" Kurvos descends down to the duo: "He's right brat. It's best that you don't get in our way.." Goku Jr quickly dashes in to launch an assault on Kurvos. A punch, and a kick, but it's suddenly followed up by an uppercut from Ryuko! Kurvos wasn't phased by the attack as he catches Ryuko's hand and throws him back to Goku Jr. Goku Jr catches Ryuko quickly and tells him one last time: "Ryuko, that's enough! Please, I'm asking you to stay out of this one!" Ryuko replies: "I can't just let you fight him alone grandpa! I'm worried about you!" Goku Jr sees the worryness in Ryuko's eyes: "Ryuko, I'll be alright. I understand your concern about me, but this is finally time I can get serious. This is my fight, Ryuko. You of all people should know this." Ryuko had no response to what his grandfather had to say. But, he didn't want to stand there idly by and watch his grandfather be brought down by an enemy of his past. Ryuko clenches his fist and grits his teeth. Ryuko, in a burst, finally speaks his mind: "Grandpa, I don't want you to end up like the last time you've gotten serious! I don't want to lose you! That's why I'm going to fight alongside you, no matter what!" Ryuko rushes to Kurvos immediately. But, Goku Jr vanishes and teleports in front of Ryuko, and unleashes a powerful gut punch to his grandson. He used enough force to knock him unconscious, at least until the battle ends.
Goku Jr catches his grandson: "Kurvos, can you give me a minute? I'll make sure that there will be no interruptions anymore." Kurvos shrugs this off, but he respects Goku Jr's wishes and nods. Goku Jr flies down to Oritsu and the others. He hands Ryuko to Ortisu and sets him aside next to him. Goku Jr puts his hand on Oritsu's shoulder: "Please look after him while I go and fight, Oritsu." Oritsu nods and Goku Jr goes back to fight Kurvos.
Oritsu tells B'az: "You go help Letuce with his fight. I'll stay here with Ryuko." B'az replies to him: "Got it. I'm on my way Letuce!" B'az then flies over to assist Letuce with his battle against Konstrikta. Konstrikta keeps pushing Letuce back as he continues to release a barrage of blasts. But, in the blink of an eye, B'az kicks Konstrikta down. Konstrikta cries in pain: "GAAAAAAAAAGH! Who dares?!" B'az looks down at Konstrikta who's covered in dust and rubble. He gets up and wipes the dust off himself: "Alright then. It's a two on one. Hope you two are ready to taste defeat!" Konstrikta rushes at them both, but is met by a swift kick from B'az yet again! Konstrikta blocks it, but he's open to Letuce's uppercut! B'az then does an axe kick to knock Konstrikta back down, followed up by a five hit combo from Letuce. Two punches, a kick, a dropkick, and finished with an overcharged blast. The five hit combo resulted with a finishing explosion. Konstrikta was finally put on the receiving end this time, and he was not having it. Konstrikta quickly used the smoke left from Letuce's blast as a cover. Using his high intellect, he devises a plan to ensure his victory. Instead of overpowering them, he opts for a different strategy. When the smoke clears, Konstrikta has vanished. B'az and Letuce can't track him anywhere. Konstrikta had already snuck up besides the two and struck them with a ki blade attack, causing them to bleed out from their backs.
Letuce and B'az were left in a state of shock: "Wh-What?!" Konstrikta is finally visible once again to explain what he's done: "You see, unlike my comrades, I opted for my use in intellect and copied their abilities. While Slyther may have been stronger than myself I was far more creative with his blades and was able to improve more than him." Konstrikta enters his camouflage state once again to strike at the two, but B'az was able to dodge. Letuce took the blow unfortunately: "GHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Konstrikta notes this mentally: "He dodged my attack? My energy and visual appearance are zero, but he- I see…He must be hearing my movement. I've heard of the Namekians having astounding hearing.." B'az charges up a Fortune Fire in his hands. After a few seconds it was ready, B'az fires the technique, but Konstrikta narrowly dodges it. The same goes for Letuce, as he just barely escapes the explosion of the blast. Konstrikta descends onto the ground: "Now I see why I can't fight you when I camouflage myself…" Konstrikta smirks as he looks at B'az. Konstrikta…whistles? Letuce was left confused by this sudden approach. But, B'az was left completely immobile as he shouts in utter agony: "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!" B'az would only hear ringing in his ears after ten seconds, it felt like he couldn't hear a thing. Letuce quickly dashes to B'az: "B'az! What's going on!?" B'az sees the troubled look on Letuce's face, but he can't hear a word he's saying.
Konstrikta is pleased with the results: "Despite having such profound hearing, Namekians have super sensitive ears. Meaning any high pitched noise like a whistle would make them immobile for a short time. Now then.." Konstrikta goes invisible once again and pummels B'az who's already down. Letuce shouts at Konstrikta: "STOP!" Konstrikta keeps going and going. He doesn't let up his assault. Letuce has enough and charges up another blast: "I SAID STOP!" He fires off a blast to Konstrikta. Konstrikta is hit by the blast and stops pummeling B'az. B'az slowly regains his hearing as he can hear the blasts and explosions. Konstrikta looks back to Letuce and takes out his dual ki blades. As he dashes to Letuce ready for the killing blow, B'az stretches out his arms to prevent it from happening. Konstrikta grows concerned: "What!? No!" He tries to break free from his grasp, but fails. B'az then pulls himself to Konstrikta and full sends a dive kick to his back.
B'az finally recovers his hearing: "Alright Letuce. This is bad. Now that he knows my weakness, I can't help you detect him when he goes invisible. So here's the plan." B'az tells Letuce the plan in secret and he understands: "Got it." B'az and Letuce dash in from the right and left respectively to attack Konstrikta in unison. After their first assault, B'az sends several hand signals to Letuce. Letuce nods and seemingly leaves the battlefield by vanishing. B'az charges up a Fortune Fire once again to finish the downed Konstrikta, but he starts whistling again. However, B'az isn't effected by this blunder, leaving Konstrikta in confusion: "What?! You should be paralyzed by that!" He examines B'az closely to realize that B'az tore off his ears! Konstrikta was left in bewilderment: "He's insane! He removed his ears so he isn't immobilized! No matter..I can still go invisible with nothing to worry about…" Letuce from above fires a blast as Konstrikta finishes his sentence. It was revealed that he was able to copy and improve his comrades' techniques through an enhancement that was on his head. With the device in his head completely destroyed by Letuce's blast, the camouflage never comes out. Letuce drops down behind Konstrikta while B'az stays in the front. Letuce remarks: "You may have power of your mind, but that doesn't mean you can't be beaten!" Letuce charges up a Galick Gun. Konstrikta has no other option but to accept defeat. B'az and Letuce unleash their finishing blows
"FORTUNE FIREEEEEEEEEEEE!"
"GALICK GUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN!"
Konstrikta was fully engulfed and killed in the middle of the two blasts. All that was left is Kobra himself.
Kurvos and Goku Jr continued to trade blows, but it looked as if Kurvos wasn't even trying against him. Goku Jr even showed signs of struggle against him! Kurvos is the first to land a decisive blow on Goku Jr with an elbow to the face. He uses the bottom half of his spear to knock Goku Jr down and through a nearby forest. Kurvos does a single ki-infused strike with his spear to cut down the trees within the forest. He rushes in to Goku Jr and punches him directly in the face.
As Goku Jr is shown on the losing end, we dive back in time to the year 982. When Ryuko had ended up intwined with the Son family. Goku Jr's son, Shuu, and his wife, Erett, would take in the young infant Ryuko. Goku Jr visits his son and daughter in law the next day: "So you're saying that he showed up here in this pod?" Goku Jr wasn't as old as he is in present day. His hair wasn't completely white, but still grey. His face had very few wrinkles on it either. Shuu responds: "Yeah. That's why we decided that we should take care of this boy and raise him as our son." Ryuko cries as Shuu holds him. Shuu is a little nervous as he and his wife had never had a child before accepting this responsibility: "H-Hey now! It's okay, don't cry!" He tries to do something to stop Ryuko from crying but to no avail. Goku Jr takes Ryuko from Shuu's hands: "Here. Let me hold him. Hey there little guy" Goku Jr smiles at the baby Ryuko, and Ryuko stops crying and begins laughing. Erett giggles a little bit: "He really likes you Goku."
Goku Jr laughs slightly: "So you like your grandpa, huh? That's sweet. Have you guys thought of a name?" Shuu and Erett looked at each other before looking back to Goku Jr and shaking their heads no. Goku Jr states: "Well. I guess that's alright. After all he did show up last night at your doorstep." However, the space pod played a message: "Ryuko, my son.." It was Ryuko's biological father! "Wherever you may end up in the universe, I want you to live out your life as a member of the saiyan race. I want you to grow as a strong and proud warrior." A chunk of the message had glitched out before skipping ahead to the end of the message. "But, even then, I want you to know that I will always be proud of you. I hope that you have a bright future, Ryuko. And goodbye, my son." The message ends. Shuu examines the pod: "Maybe we can try and restore the full message back at Capsule Corp. But, Ryuko is a fine name to give him." Goku Jr adds on to Shuu's comment: "Agreed that boy's father has given his son a proud name. With that, he's now a member of the Son family. Son Ryuko!"
With Ryuko officially given the Son surname, we then see a lot of happy moments between the family. But, out of all these times, Ryuko spent the most time with his grandfather. After a few years, Ryuko and Goku Jr played catch and at one point, Ryuko through the ball so hard, that it went through Goku Jr's glove: "Woah! Easy there kid!" Ryuko apologizes: "Sorry grandpa!" Goku Jr flies over to grab the ball again: "It's alright. Let's try again."
We then cut to more moments of Ryuko and Goku Jr playing and horsing around with each other. They'd play child games like tag, hide and seek, but Ryuko asked a very important question one day. Ryuko, now age 6, asks his grandfather: "Grandpa, when can I start training with you? You always say how I have this power in me since I'm part saiyan!" Goku Jr tells his grandson: "Now now, we can't jump the gun on your training. I'll reconsider when you turn 8, okay?" Ryuko sighs and accepts this: "Okay…" Once Ryuko finally turned 8, he began training with his grandfather. Of course, Ryuko was humbled quickly by his grandfather. Ryuko grew upset at this: "Grandpa! You can't be winning all the time, it isn't fair!" Goku Jr looks down at Ryuko: "Sorry Ryuko, but I have to teach you this lesson. No matter how strong you may get, there will be someone out there stronger than you. That allows you to continue your training, so you have the ability to grow and learn, Ryuko. There is no shame in defeat. Defeat is just another lesson."
Some more time would pass and Ryuko would be 12. Goku Jr and Ryuko would be sitting down with his parents. Shuu talks to Ryuko first: "Ryuko, I think it's time that we tell you something." Erett reaches out to Ryuko's hand: "Please, don't get upset it any of us, okay?" Ryuko raises an eyebrow: "Okay? What's going on?" Goku Jr sits up straight instead of having his feet on the table: "Well, Ryuko. It's time that we tell you something that only the 3 of us, and Vegeta know…" Goku Jr tells Ryuko his true origin and how they are not related by blood. Ryuko was shocked by this and took a minute to have any words. Erett reaches out to Ryuko: "Ryuko, honey? Are you alright?" Ryuko finally responds: "Well, what difference does it make?" The 3 of them were surprised by his answer. Ryuko continues: "Okay, to put it straightforward, just because you aren't my actual family, doesn't mean we aren't. I'm still a member of the Son family, and I don't intend on leaving it. Even if that means we aren't blood related. The 4 of them hug it out. Goku Jr tells Ryuko: "You know, Ryuko, you were just like my Great Grandmother Pan. You and her had very similar personalities. She even went on so many adventures with our ancestor Goku. From Great Grandmother Pan's stories, she told me how much I resembled Goku. But you, resemble her and him more than me, Ryuko."
Later that day, Goku Jr and Vegeta Jr reconvene and have a quick chat at Capsule Corp. Goku Jr begins the conversation: "Vegeta. We need to talk about the fate of the Earth and then some after our passing." Vegeta Jr raises an eyebrow and responds in a sarcastic tone: "So now you finally decide to talk about it..Alright, what is it" Goku Jr continues: "If anything were to happen on this planet, there would be nobody here to protect it from larger threats. We can't be the ones to stop every planet ending event all the time. That's why once he's old enough, Ryuko will take my place." Vegeta Jr takes a sip of coffee and says: "Well, of course we're not going to be around forever. But, I do agree with you. The boys are a great fit to become the next generation of warriors for Earth. Letuce and Oritsu have been growing tight as ever. His older sister even took up an internship here. But, besides that, those 3 boys are our next generation alright."
After these instance of the past, we arrive back onto the battlefield with Kurvos and Goku Jr. As Goku Jr receives several attacks from Kurvos, Goku Jr begins to smile remembering the good times. Kurvos sees this: "Have you finally lost your sanity, Goku? Our final battle will end here and now with this strike!" Kurvos spins his spear before preparing to thrust it straight where Goku Jr's heart is. But, Goku jr grabs the blade with both hands and breaks it. Kurvos was slightly shocked but smirked: "Come on now. You don't want to end on this low note now. You haven't even used all your power.." Kurvos throws away his now broken spear. Goku Jr gets back up and replies: "I could say the same for you, Kurvos. Guess we both share that, huh. Heh heh heh" Kurvos states: "We may be on opposing sides as enemies, Goku. But you are by far the strongest opponent I've ever faced. It is a shame that this battle will result in one of our deaths." Goku Jr cracks his knuckles: "Yeah. It is a shame indeed. But, as you requested, I will stop holding back." Vejin pays close attention to this: "The old man is still holding back? That's impossible. If Ryuko and I were already so close to defeating him, what else does he have?" Goku Jr begins to power up, causing the area to tremor and break apart. The ground cracks apart as rubble levitates into the air. Goku Jr's hair began to spike upwards as he continues to power up: "HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" Everyone was left in complete shock except for Kurvos and Ryuko, the latter still being unconscious. Goku Jr's eyes began to change color to a bright blue before in one burst, unleashes all his power.
"HRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!"
His cry echoed through the area as a golden orb would surround Goku Jr. This power began to form winds around him. Everyone had to cover their eyes from the wind and bright light, except Kurvos. Kurvos is finally pleased with the outcome: "Finally…This is what I've been waiting to see for thirty years." The orb breaks apart to reveal Goku Jr doused in a golden aura, blonde spiky hair, blue eyes, and incredible power. Kurvos says it himself: "I finally get to see the Super Saiyan once again.."
Everyone was left amazed by Goku Jr's incredible power. Even Kobra began to show signs of fear by a few drops of sweat dripping down his face. Vejin, however, was the most shocked by this revelation as he now knows the legend of the Super Saiyan was in fact real: "WH-WHAT!? THE LEGEND OF THE SUPER SAIYAN!? N-No way…It's real!? The old man is a SUPER SAIYAN!?"
Goku Jr has finally skipped the warmup: "Alright Kurvos, now you hold up your end of the deal." Kurvos smirks as his battle jacket begins to glow, enhancing Kurvos's strength to max power, rivaling that of Goku Jr's super saiyan. The two engage in combat once again with every blow leaving a shockwave behind. Goku Jr lands a swift combination of several kicks into one final kick to knock Kurvos away. Kurvos recovers, but is met by Goku Jr immediately with a slamming punch downwards, knocking Kurvos deep into the ground. Kurvos quickly resurfaces and uppercuts Goku Jr and kicks him even higher into the air. Finally, Kurvos charges up a two handed blast. The blast was a deep blue color as it expanded in his palms. Kurvos's attack was ready to go:
"VENGEFUL BOMBER!"
Kurvos fires the attack, which results in Goku Jr getting hit directly. The sky began to part after the explosion. Kurvos finally uses all of his energy in this final attack. After his Vengeful Bomber, his battle jacket showed signs of overloading. But, after a second, it fixed itself and quickly brought itself back to max power. Kurvos charges in at full force with a single punch. Goku Jr would do the same. In the distance, the others would see two streaks of light, ready to collide with one another. They both shout at the top of their lungs:
"THIS BATTLE ENDS NOW! HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!"
In that fraction of a second, both attacks have reached their destination. While Kurvos aimed directly for Goku Jr's face, Goku Jr aimed his strike at Kurvos's abdomen, damaging his battle jacket beyond repair. Kurvos's power dropped like crazy afterwards. After this clash of attacks, Kurvos was left devastated. He knew he was too weak to stand a chance without the battle jacket to enhance his power. Goku Jr knew that this was it. His next attack was the final blow to Kurvos, and Kurvos knew that. Kurvos would smile before accepting his death and defeat. Goku Jr begins charging up a full power attack, out of respect for his adversary: "Ka…Me…" Goku Jr's Full Power Kamehameha was about to be unleashed on the battlefield: "Ha…Me…" Before the attack finished charging, there was a moment of silence. Kurvos would shed one tear, but he had no regrets in being a longtime enemy. He had finally been given something he should've had from the start. That being respect. So, to give Kurvos an honorable death, he would use his full power to end the member of the Junsui-Jin clan. And finally, Goku Jr finishes charging and unleashes the Full Power Kamehameha:
"HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"
The beam exploded in power almost immediately! The beam immediately disintegrated the battle jacket along with Kurvos. The size of Goku Jr's Full Power Kamehameha was staggering! It cleared the entire mountain valley instantly! All that was left was just an elongated crater made by the blast, and the mountains left with missing pieces or in complete rubble. Everyone had no words. There was nothing to say after that finishing move. Goku Jr single handedly showed everyone what his true power was that day. Before Goku Jr can get ready to help out the others against Kobra, a person has teleported onto the battlefield from thin air! Just who is this person? Goku Jr was surprised to see another person that looked like a saiyan: "Who are you?" Of course Goku Jr hadn't fully put his guard down yet, but he was unsure of the situation. The man replies: "I have the same question for you. Your hair reminds me of an old friend back home." Goku Jr replies: "I am Son Goku Jr. the descendant of the renowned Son Goku." The man hears this: "Goku, huh? I was told of stories about Goku. Anyways, allow me to introduce myself."
"I am Saito. And I am a saiyan that resided on Planet Yardrat."
The Lost Warrior: Saito(FINALE)
In the previous entry, Saito discovers that the saiyan, Bruzzell, has hired the Venom Mercenaries to go after Ryuko on Earth. Saito feels obligated to go help out Ryuko and the others so that way the events on Yardrat wouldn't happen again on Earth. Bruzzell exits the room after he ends the communication line with Kobra. Saito narrowly makes his way out before Bruzzell could spot him: "This is bad..Bruzzell's hired mercenaries to do what he did back on Yardrat! There's got to be some way to get to Earth!" Saito opens up the main menu of the ship's computer. However, he is instantly denied access, as Saito's fingerprints are not recognized on the ship. With Bruzzell back up to the control room, he notices that the main computer has been locked. He pulls up the cameras within the ship and spots Saito, trying to access the computer: "Fool…I've found you again.."
Bruzzell begins to move at high speeds back down to Saito's location. Saito finally manages to get access to the computer after hundreds of attempts. He sees a map of the North Galaxy Quadrant. Saito locates Earth and which direction he should focus on with instant transmission. However, Saito senses the presence of Bruzzell immediately. Bruzzell busts down the door. Saito realizes that the only way out of the computer room is blocked by Bruzzell. Bruzzell devilishly grins: "Nowhere to run, weakling.." Bruzzell charges at Saito and knees him in the gut. Saito is left gasping for air, but Bruzzell puts his foot on the back of his head, crushing Saito slowly. Saito tries to scream in pain, but can't, due to the lack of oxygen. Saito finally regains his breath and moves his arm up to try and instant transmission to Earth. Bruzzell grabs Saito's arm: "Ah ah ah…No running away here. I should've finished you off along with your planet and it's weak inhabitants. THEY DESERVED TO BE CLEANSED AWAY FROM THIS UNIVERSE! THEY WILL MAKE ROOM FOR THE SAIYANS TO TAKEOVER AGAIN!"
After hearing Bruzzell say that the world he called home was weak and pitiful gave him a second wind. Although Saito couldn't power up, he did use enough power to push Bruzzell off and catch him off guard. But, there was something else that caught Saito off guard. He felt a rising power coming from the north-west. It was from Earth! This was Saito's ticket to escaping Bruzzell! Bruzzell recovers and charges at him. But, it was too late. Saito had locked on to this energy he felt on Earth and teleports away. Bruzzell was agitated but, Saito wasn't much use to him either way. He just wanted another saiyan to join him, but he shrugs it off. Saito has successfully evaded Bruzzell.
