The sun was shining over Springdale as Summer and Tate walked down the boardwalk on their way to the ice cream shop. It had recently just opened near the beach and everyone had said that it was to die for. "I wonder which flavor I should get." Tate said, holding the pamphlet in his hands. There were a ton of different flavors to choose from. Chocolate, Strawberry, even some original flavors like Cotton Candy Blast and Summertime Freeze. Both children stopped as they noticed the line, it was backed up all the way outside the store! Both children gasped in shock as they noticed that they were pretty much at the end of the line. "The store is super popular." Summer said, her eyes wide. She turned to her brother with a smile on her face. "We better get in line then." She said, walking forward a bit. "Wait a minute…" Tate said, squinting to look down at the far end of the line. "The line isn't for the ice cream." he said, pointing down to the end of the line. Summer squinted down to the end of the line and found it to be not for the ice cream, but for their new friend Isabelle! "Isabelle?!" Summer cried out, but she couldn't hear them over the constant pestering of everyone around her. They wanted selfies and autographs for crying out loud.
"She's… she's very popular. This could be a bit troubling for her" Tate said, scratching his cheek. Summer let out a low chuckle. "Alright then, if that's the case." Summer said, and before Tate knew it, both he and Isabelle were dragged all the way away from the beach and down to Bruno's house, where the Yo-kai Detective Agency was meeting up. "I brought her along!" Summer said, showing off Isabelle. Tate himself stood tall and proud while Isabelle kept a nice smile on her face. "Sorry for dropping in unannounced." she said. It didn't take long for Bruno to jump off the ground, stepping on the past Jibanyan by accident, "NYAN!" he screamed, moving out of the way as Bruno ran over to Isabelle. "Don't be sorry! You are a member of the Yo-kai Detective Agency!" he said with a smile. "And apparently, in this agency, you step on people's backs!" Jibanyan screamed at him, crossing his arms. Isabelle looked over, "You poor thing." she muttered under her breath. "Here, take this!" Bruno said, ignoring the tiny cat yo-kai's aching back. Isabelle held out her hands as a small badge fell down into them. "It's a membership badge, you are officially one of us now." Bruno said. "Wow! Thank You!" she said, holding the tiny badge in her hands. "Did we have memberships before?" Tate looked at his sister with an annoyed look. She had the same annoyed look while looking back, saying "This is the first I've heard of it." she told her little brother. Bruno gasped and looked back. "Oh! Nate! I made you one as well!" he said, showing off the tiny badge.
"Oh that's right!" Summer turned around, giving a warm smile. "Hey dad!" she said, waving wildly at her father. "Hey!" Nate smiled, before turning to Bruno. "Thank you, but I'm really not cut out for detective work." Nate waved his hands in defense. "Nonsense, I'm sure The Legendary Yo-kai Master has solved tons of mysteries in the past." Bruno tossed him the badge. "Thanks, but not really." Nate scratched the back of his head when the past Whisper stepped in. "He has a habit of blaming Yo-kai for the smallest things, which often make me scold him for blaming us Yo-kai on the silliest things ever." The white ghost said, crossing his arms. "And Nyate's right literally all the time." The past Jibanyan said, jumping on the bed. "DON'T INTERRUPT ME YOU JIBA JERK!" Whisper pulled at Jibanyan's face. "You were done talking, nyan!" Jibanyan said in defense as Whisper continued to pull at his face. Summer giggled, "They're really funny." she said. Nate could only chuckle, "Trust me, you don't know what it's like living with them." he said as the fighting continued. "Past Whisper is a meanie!" Junior flew in, pointing at the white ghost with purple lips. "Meanie!?" The past Whisper said, seemingly offended. "Meanie! Meanie! Meanie!" Junior proceeded to fly around the room while the past Whisper chased him, trying to give him a piece of his mind. Junior seemed to be having fun though, enjoying the game of tag and flying in loops and dodging all of Whisper's attacks. "Anyway!" Bruno said, striking a pose for Isabelle. "If you need anything, just ask me!" Bruno pounded his stomach. Sly flexed near Summer, saying "If you need anything, Summer, just ask me." Summer looked at him with a drop of sweat down her cheek. "You're just copying Bruno now, aren't ya?" the girl with the braids asked.
"Nya, can you guys do this somewhere else, it's my nyap time nyow." Jibanyan said, laying down on the floor. "You don't exactly live here y'know." Nate said, "Old lady said make yourself at home, and I'm making myself at home Nyate." Jibanyan said, lounging on the floor and eating chocolate bars. "Anyway, what are you up to Cole?" Isabelle walked over to the computer. "Huh? Oh, just looking over at-" Cole didn't get to finish his sentence before Bruno but in, screaming "USURANURA!" Isabelle took a step back as Jibanyan walked over. "I was using it last night." he said bluntly, causing Bruno to look over. "You were surfing Usuranura last night?" he asked. "No, I was on the computer watching NextHarMEOWny concerts that happened in the later years. I have nyo idea what that website is." Jibanyan said, talking about the computer. "It's a forum about Yo-kai related problems that happen in our town along with urban legends from around the world." Bruno said, gazing over the computer and looking at the most recent post. "Is it scary?" Isabelle asked. Bruno looked over at her with a fearful look. "Do you dislike scary things Isabelle?" he asked, to which Isabelle stood tall and proud and said "Not at all!" to which Bruno fist pumped the air and yelled "I know right?!"
"Mood swings."
Bruno looked over at the cat lounging on the ground, munching on a Chocobar. "You're just as bad as Nyate is with Katie, but at least he doesn't have mood swings." Jibanyan said, preparing to take a big bite of his chocolate bar. "Can Jii have some?" Junior floated over next to the cat Yo-kai. Jibanyan raised an eyebrow, but shrugged and broke off a piece and gave it to the small floating red ball. Junior plopped it in his mouth and swallowed. "DELICIOUS!" Junior said, waving his arms around everywhere. The two then looked over at Bruno, who had his eyes closed and was smiling widely at Isabelle. "Fatty's disgusting." he said bluntly, to which Jibanyan nodded. The computer dinged, causing Cole to turn to it. "Huh? There's a new post." he said, clicking on the latest post, which caught the attention of everyone in the room. "In other words, now's the time for us to act!" Bruno said, getting all hyped up. Nate scooched over to his future children, asking "Is he always like this?" to which his response was a simple head shake no. "What kind of incidents do you deal with anyway?" The past Whisper floated over to the computer. Bruno clicked on the post and began to read it out fully. "Well, we're dealing with… multiple pale covered hands coming from the ocean?" Bruno said the beginning before Whisper cut in with "What?"
"The arms had a strange glow and pulled my friends into the ocean." Isabelle began reading the rest of the post. "Wow, so we have someone killing people, that's… different, nyan." Jibanyan said, jumping onto the shoulders of Cole and looking at the post. "The Springdale Triangle of Terror. We've really come far from a swirl from your ice cream being stolen and someone next door is playing really loud music, nyan." Jibanyan said, pointing at the post. "That sounds… oddly peaceful." Tate popped into the conversation. "The past was nyice, but I guess we're stuck in the future right nyow so you're dealing with the scary stuff." Jibanyan said. "You're?" Cole asked as Jibanyan jumped to the bed and began to curl up. "Yep, I'm going to lay down right here if that's okay. Maybe get in a nyap or two. If I get bored I'll just look up when Next HarMEOWny's next concert is and purchase tickets." Jibanyan said. "Alright then, suit yourself." Nate said. "You're coming with?" Summer asked, Nate shrugged. "I got nothing else better to do." he said, putting his hands behind his head. "ALRIGHT! COME ON AGENTS! LET'S MOVE!" Bruno said, leading the entire agency out the door.
30 years before:
Tomnyan never really got into the big adventure stuff that Nate got into, nor was he around to see it. He heard Nate talk about his adventures with a flying whale, going back in time, and even helping out the lord of the Yo-kai World himself. But the yellow cat Yo-kai never had been on any of the adventures himself, only heard of it. But now, he felt like he was roped into one of these adventures, a grand one for sure. A magic door that turned to stone was revealed with the Yo-Kai Watch, and now everyone was in a panic because the Legendary Yo-kai Master had now disappeared without a trace. He was worried along with everyone else, Nate was his neighbor, as well as one of his best friends. He was the first person to introduce him to the wonders of Springdale and how different it was from BBQ. So he had to help bring him to safety, he needed to return a favor. That was why he called them, it took a while to get in contact with them, but thankfully, the Koma Knomads were still down in BBQ, going to college with that Brenda person Knomad Koma had been talking about. Knomad Jiro managed to get in contact with them and now he was going to meet them at the park where the door was.
Tomnyan walked down the street with a smile on his face, saying hi to all of the Yo-kai that were in Springdale. Swelterrier, Pandanoko, even a Legendary Yo-kai like Elder Bloom. He rounded the corner and found himself over at the park, where surprisingly, Hailey Anne and Usapyon were. Nate also introduced him to the two detectives. They must be looking for clues on where Nate had gone. "HOWDY!" he said, raising his paw. The two looked over at him, "Tomnyan!" Hailey said with a smile, Usapyon smiled back before he went back to what he was doing. "What are y'all up to, meow?" the cat Yo-kai asked. "Clue finding at the scene of the disappearance." Usapyon said, looking around the door with a magnifying glass. "Oh, well, you might not have to worry about this much longer, meow! I brought over the best of the best to help with this!" he said, the two looked at him. "You're bringing over friends?" Hailey asked. "Meow!" Tomnyan shook his head yes in response. "All the way from BBQ as well!" he said, looking up to the sky, they were coming right now. "HERE THEY ARE, MEOW!" Tomnyan said, waving his paws up and down. Hailey and Usapyon ran over to the Merican Yo-kai and looked up. "I… I don't see anything." Hailey said, before she used her Yo-kai Watch to scan the air and found five people falling down and striking heroic poses. Hailey turned off the watch's light and stared, there were five of them. The first one was a humanoid with black wings on her back and wore a red and gold costume with red and black horns on the top. Their skin appeared to be purple along with their eyes and they were wearing a black mask. The next one had no legs and was wearing a lab coat along with a skull covering their face. They had messy gray hair and boney hands. They had a black body and what appeared to be a rib cage covered by the lab coat. The third one was another humanoid like the first, with dark-brown magenta skin and blue green hair that had split ends. He wore a visor and along with a purple and orange jumpsuit, he wore white boots that had flares on the side, along with white gloves. The next one was an anthropomorphic shark with a wrestling mask, along with purple fingerless gloves and purple shoes. The final one was a pale skinned boy that reminded Hailey of Unbelieveaboy, although, he had pale blue skin and green hair that reminded Hailey of seaweed. The most notable thing about this guy was the buckle that said "Bad" on it.
"Who are they?" Hailey asked with curiosity, Usapyon pulled out the Yo-kai pad and scrolled through until he found the pages. "They are a big thing in BBQ actually, members of a superhero team known as Tempest Pride." The space suit wearing Yo-kai said, falling on the pages. "The leader is in the middle, her names Little Charmer." Usapyon said, pointing to Little Charmer of the eerie tribe, weird that she wasn't apart of the charming tribe because charm was in her name. "The other members are Unbearaboy, The Jawsome Kid, Double Time, and Dr. E. Raser." Usapyon said, naming out the rest of the team members. "That's right meow! I called them over here to help us out with the door, meow!" Tomnayn popped into the conversation. "Huh, so you must be the one that little guy was talking about." Little Charmer said, her voice sounded right out of an action movie, it warmed Hailey's heart. There were real superheroes in Springdale! Technically they were Yo-kai, but she hit the jackpot this time. "Wow! Real Superheroes!" Hailey said, jumping up and down. Little Charmer greeted her with a smile, "Have no fear human, we'll take it from here and find your friend." The leader said, turning over to the stone door. "So, this is what everyone has gotten themselves all worked up over." Little Charmer said, putting her hand to the door. Dr. E. Raser examined the door, the shady Yo-kai placed his hand on the door, feeling the hard texture of the rock. "It's nothing like in the human world, so it must be from the Yo-kai World." E. Raser said, raising a finger. "Yeah, but who created it? And why?" Little Charmer said, all the while Jawsome Kid cracked his knuckles. "I can punch it at full force and see if it opens." Jawsome Kid spun his arm in the air really fast. "That could proba-DON'T ACTUALLY DO IT!" Unbearaboy screamed, but it was too late, Jawsome Kid had punched the door, but he didn't leave a dent. "ARGH WHAT IS THIS THING MADE OF?!" Jawsome Kid asked, clutching his now throbbing hand. Dr. E. Raser examined the door once more, knocking on it a few times. "This certainly isn't stone, it's something stronger than that." The doctor said, "Ya think?!" Jawsome Kid snapped at him, his hand still writhing in pain.
"It must be some sort of alien tech! Made to look like stone but instead, being something from so far out of this galaxy! This must be where they will come from when they invade earth!" Hailey said, her eyes sparkled a bit as she ran up to the door and hugged it. "Why do you always have to resort to aliens, dani?" Usapyon asked, walking beside her. "She could be right though." Double Time said, Usapyon, Hailey, and Tomnyan looked at him with disbelief. "Maybe not about the aliens, but about the invasion." Double Time clarified, Hailey got slightly disappointed, but was still a bit curious about the invasion. "What kind of invasion?" Hailey asked, Little Charmer stepped forward. "Right now, the theory going around is that there will be an invasion on the human world from the Yo-kai World." the hero said. "An invasion from the Yo-kai World… you mean Yo-kai are going to invade the human realm?" Hailey asked, putting her hands on her head. "That's the theory, we've gotten a few sources in the Yo-kai World saying they are after the recent jailbreak from Yocatraz." Unbearaboy hopped onto the very top of the door and held his finger high. "Jailbreak?" Hailey asked, to which Usapyon pulled out his Yo-kai pad to show her. "These criminals flew the coop recently." he said, Hailey shifted her glasses to read the paper. "But, those three couldn't launch a full scale invasion on humankind all by themselves, right?" Usapyon asked, E. Raser put his hands in his pockets. "Of course not, they're all too small, and frankly too stupid, to come up with a plan to invade the human world all by themselves. There is something bigger going on here, we just don't know what it is." E. Raser said. The human girl, the spacesuit wearing Yo-kai, and the Yo-kai hero group all began to ponder what was really going on here. "Well, whatever's going on, it has to involve these doors, maybe they are a way of getting around to certain areas faster." Little Charmer said, putting her hand on the door. "So like teleportation? Does that mean Nate is lost in the Yo-kai World or something?" Hailey asked.
Tomnyan's ear twitched, he sensed something, or rather, someone. While everyone else continued their conversation, he started to survey the area for the person that was setting off his senses, it didn't take long to find them, they were hiding behind a tree. Good for them, it was a hot day out. He was feeling pretty hot as well, the sun was brutal today. He walked over to the tree where the person was hiding behind, it was another human. She had brown hair unlike Hailey's purple hair and it was tied in the back of her head with a ponytail, being held up by a pink bow. Her eyes were brown and her eyebrows were shifted in a worried expression. Tomnyan looked at what the girl was looking at, and it was Hailey talking with the other Yo-kai. Maybe she could see them? It was possible for humans to see Yo-kai without the Yo-kai Watch, it has happened multiple times before. Tomnyan closed his eyes and smiled, raising up his right paw. "Howdy pardner!" he said, bringing in his BBQ accent for the greeting. The girl didn't even look down or say anything, she just kept looking at Hailey. "Meow?" Tomnyan opened his eyes to see that ponytail (his nickname for her) didn't really do anything. Tomnyan opened a pack of Deliciousticks and started to chow down on them. The sweet crunch seemed to get the attention of the girl, as her worried eyebrows changed to have one of them raised. Tomnyan swallowed, now he finally had her attention… at least that was what he thought. She seemed nice though, and that deserved a song. "You won't mind, will you, meow?" Tomnyan asked, pulling out his guitar. He plucked a few strings to see if she would get a response, but the girl instead went back to watching Hailey have her talk with the group of heroes. He simply shrugged, he needed to practice anyway. Tomnyan slumped himself in the shade and played the song he always played.
Katie heard some weird noises, first it started off as someone munching on candy, and now she was hearing someone play some sort of song. She often looked left and right to find the source of the noises, but no one seemed to be around or in ear shot for her to hear them. Nevertheless, she kept watching Hailey, she couldn't exactly hear what she was talking about now, but it was best to keep tabs on her because she definitely had something to do with Nate, whether she was involved with how weird he was behaving or not, Hailey Anne had something to do with Nate, and she had to find out what it was.
30 years later:
"Did everyone forget their swimsuits?"
"It's not like we came here to swim."
Nate looked at his future son, "But it's the beach." he said, Tate just gave him a look. It wasn't an angry look, Nate couldn't tell what type of look or emotion was behind Tate's eyes. It was honestly kind of freaky. "I got really cheerful and my grandma hit me." Bruno said, his eyebrows furrowed in anger. "I… see." Nate said, a drop of sweat rolling down his head. Isabelle gave a bright energetic smile and moved towards Bruno. "Since you came out all this way, might as well have some fun." she said with a smile, Bruno started to turn red and tore off his clothes, revealing his blue and green swimsuit. "O-of course!" he said, standing tall and proud, much to the dismay of everyone except Isabelle. "Wow, that really suits you!" Isabelle exclaimed with a smile, to which Bruno laughed and scratched the back of his head. "Well aren't you in high spirits all of a sudden." The past Whisper sighed, to which Junior added in "Fatty's face and tummy are both a mess." Sliding into the conversation was Sly, all decked out in floaties, goggles, and a snorkel. "I've also come prepared, Summer." He said, striking a few poses. "Please tell me he's not always like that." The past Whisper pointed, to which Summer let out a very sad sigh, basically answering Whisper's question. The day after that was filled with fun in the water, and laying in the shade, for Nate, Isabelle and Bruno, it was out in the water, for the Yo-kai and the other humans, it was laying in the shade. "Even after hearing such a horrible story, they sure seem eager to go into the water." Tate said.
The story goes that four friends, two male and two female, were out at the beach one afternoon just as the sun was setting. They were planning on having a barbecue or something, Tate didn't recall that part. What he did recall was what happened when the two males went into the water for a little contest. First one to the buoys wins, however, upon getting towards the buoys, lights from under the water began to light up, and out came pale hands. It was all recorded on one of the females phones and the two men were dragged under the water, only to appear on the other side of the beach completely unharmed and simply passed out. It was some scary stuff, but Summer and the others had apparently dealt with worse, even his own father had dealt with worse. He was much more interested in the giant whale story, where a second world similar to theirs existed. "Oh, I get it now. You didn't bring your swimsuit because you're scared of the ocean." Summer teased, a grin on her face. Junior and the two Whisper's were busy eating ice cream. Although, they did overhear and look at Tate with curiosity, except Junior. "You're a coward!" Junior pointed and exclaimed, to which Tate shook his hands. "No, no, no! It's because the currents here get really strong!" Tate said, "Really? And where did you hear that?" Whisper asked, staring deeply into his soul. "They uh… talked about it at school… I think." Tate said, pressing his fingers together. The past Whisper appeared on the other side. "Sounds like you're just scared." he said, looking off to find Nate staring at the sand intensely. "... what is he doing?" the future Whisper asked his past self, to which the past Whisper sighed and floated over to his master's side, with Summer following him. "Something wrong?" she asked, her father looked up at her. "I need to get across the sand without touching it." he said, to which Summer looked left and right before asking "...why?" To which Nate held up a hand, a finger pointed upwards. "I'm glad you asked my dearest daughter." Summer just had a drop of sweat roll down her cheek as Nate continued. "You see, with how hot the sun is, this would mean that the sand would be really hot as well. Stepping on it after being in the water will cause my feet to burn up." Nate said, to which the two Whisper's and Summer had unamused looks.
"That's… that's it?" she asked, Nate nodded yes vigorously. "Really Nate, you are setting a terrible example for your child." Whisper said as Nate jumped onto the closest beach towel. "Is… is he always like this?" Summer asked, to which Whisper responded with "I'm surprised he didn't call Robonyan F for this, although I wonder if he even has his medal on him right now. We wouldn't probably have met you if Nate just had Mirapo or something with him." Whisper said just as Nate came running back into the water's edge. He let out a sigh of relief as Summer saw steam coming out of the water. "Just… walk on the sand." The future Whisper said, to which the Whisper Nate knew stepped in. "Clearly you don't remember how Nate is sometimes." Whisper said, looking back. "And what's that supposed to mean?" Nate crossed his arms and glared at the self appointed Yo-kai butler. "Please, this has happened before, honestly just be glad Swash isn't here, then you would be setting an even worse example for your daughter than you are now." Whisper crossed his arms and glared back. "Is… is this what it's always like for you?" Summer asked, Nate blinked. "Well… not all the time." Nate scratched the back of his head. "Your life with yo-kai… it's kind of fun honestly." Nate and the past Whisper looked up at Summer. "What do you mean by that?" Whisper asked, to which Summer turned to him. "You have to admit, it's kind of wacky for him to be worried about something such as hot sand that he was to summon a Yo-kai to help him out with this." Summer began, to which Nate had a drop of sweat going down his head. "It's nice though that he has to call a Yo-kai for something like that when I don't really summon them unless I need them to fight…" Summer looked at her Yo-Kai Watch, come to think of it, did she ever summon anyone just to hang out? Not to fight anyone's battles or to save people from getting crushed by buildings or whatever. She never summoned them to have fun, and her father was doing something like that… she smiled at him. "I hope everything works out for you with the sand." Summer walked away, to which Nate and the Past Whisper stared at her. "Like I said, set a better example." Whisper looked at him, Nate simply stuck out his tongue at Whisper. The butler Yo-kai gave a push to Nate, pushing him into the sand and causing Nate to jump up and down, with his feet on fire.
The rest of the day went by in a flash and the sun was beginning to set. Cole stood on the edge of the dock, looking out into the sunset. "We've waited this long, and nothing out of the ordinary has happened." he said, looking off into the sunset. Isabelle shot Summer a sad and apologetic look. "Sorry about that, even though we came here to investigate, we wound up having too much fun." Isabelle said, to which Summer just smiled back at her and waved it off, to which Whisper flew in. "There were others having way much more fun." he said, before looking at Nate. "And there were others playing in the sand." he commented, to which Nate crossed his arms and huffed, turning away from the future Yo-kai Butler. "Today was the best day ever… I had Isabelle all to myself… I wonder if I made everyone else jealous because of how me and Isabelle were being so lovey-dovey." Bruno said, to which the Past Whisper looked at him with disgust. "Jibanyan was right, he really is just like Nate when he's near Katie." Past Whisper said, Bruno ignored the past ghost and went into thought. "I should go home now while things are still going well." he said, planning to leave. "Hey! Why don't we go investigate together?" Isabelle asked, putting her hands together in a praying motion. Bruno turned around with a wide toothy grin. "Of course! I was going to do that all by myself!" he exclaimed, much to the dismay of everyone except Isabelle. The two began to swim out into the ocean, much to Nate's worry. What if the pale hands got them? "Are you sure we should be letting those two go out there all alone?" he asked, to which Summer waved it off. "Bruno's a magician with magic, and he can summon the Celestials, he should be fine." Summer said, to which Nate had a drop of sweat roll down his head. "Celestials… really makes you wonder what happened in thirty years." Nate said.
"Besides, they insisted on going by themselves." Summer put her hands behind her head, her eyes drifted to her brother, who was holding Bruno's phone for some reason. Her eyebrow raised up, "What are you doing with his phone?" she asked, to which her brother replied with "Isabelle wanted me to record the two of them together." Whisper crossed his arms with a sigh, "That explains it." he said, he watched as the two swam out pretty far, putting a hand above his eyes. "It looks like they are going out pretty fast." he said, this worried Summer a bit. She cupped her hands around her mouth and yelled out to them "Don't get too close to the buoy's, you two!" Cole thought for a minute, there was no way a person could swim that fast, especially Bruno with his, erm, size, let's say. "They're being pushed out." he said, to which everyone looked at him. "The witnesses warned us about the strong currents yesterday." Cole explained, to which Tate chimed in with "That's right! They warned us about that at school." to which the Past Whisper looked at him. "You were telling the truth?" he popped into the conversation, but everyone ignored him, much more worried about Bruno and Isabelle. They tried to call out to them, but it was far too late. Blue-ish pale hands came up from the water, and it didn't take long for both Bruno and Isabelle to scream in horror.
Meanwhile:

Jibanyan looked at his past self, who was busy reading a magazine of Next HarMEOWny on it while munching on a chocolate bar. He had a hard time believing that it was his past self at first, but now he was one hundred percent certain that it was. His love for chocolate, his will to fight trucks, and his undying love for Amy, this had to be him from the past. But then that posed the problem, what made him forget that kid? He didn't exactly remember being with a human companion when he was younger. He did know about Whisper though, they were together quite often, at least if memory served. Ever since that kid came through that door claiming to be someone from the past, Jibanyan had been searching his memory for that kid. No memory he had showed him with that kid, come to think of it, his memories had been fuzzy for a long time now. He didn't even remember liking that girl band before but low and behold, his past self is practically in love with them, kissing a poster of the band leader every night before bed. Jibanyan cringed, why would he do something like that in the past? Disgusting. The little guy continued to eat multiple chocolate bars without even taking a break for a drink, it was weird. The past version of himself seemed to notice. "You wannya bite?" he asked, closing the magazine and holding the chocolate bar closer. Jibanyan moved a bit closer and opened his mouth, before taking a bite out of the chocolate bar. The chocolate melted in his mouth and the crunch was satisfying. "Do you have like two tons of these?" he asked, to which his past self just chuckled. "I wish, nyan. Nyate would never let me buy two tons, especially on his average allowance." the red cat chuckled. "This Nyate fellow? What's he like?" Jibanyan asked, the red cat from the past looked at him. "Well, he's a great friend, let's me live there and the time I was homesick, he didn't call me back or anything, just let me go see Amy… until I was homesick of his place, nyan." The past Jibanyan explained.
Jibanyan listened to his past self talk so confidently about Nate, he talked about all the times he has been summoned to deal with problems, all the times Nate has been there for him and been nice to him, and all the times Nate has been a cool guy to hang around. Why…? Why didn't he remember Nate? It was strange, furthermore, how come he didn't know that he was friends with the son and daughter of the Legendary Yo-kai Master, that was kind of a big deal. "Come on out my friend, calling… Jibanyan!" Jibanyan found himself getting teleported off the roof of the building, it made him feel light headed at first but before long, he found himself leaping out of the shadow that belonged to Summer Adams. "Hm?" he hummed, investigating his surroundings. There was a light breeze, the pink sky and the setting sun, and… water?! "NYA!" Jibanyan screamed, taking a few steps back and turning around, a tick mark appearing on the side of his head. "What's the big idea?!" he screamed, the others seemed a bit stunned by his reaction. "Do none of you have a brain? Cats HATE getting wet, especially me!" Jibanyan walked off, to which Summer turned and screamed his name. Jibanyan waved them off. "NYOPE! CALL SOMEONE ELSE!" he said. "He's… almost the same as the past." Nate mentioned with a sweatdrop. "A lot of things changed, apparently he wasn't one of them." Whisper said, Isabelle held a hand close to her chest. "Yo-kai really are something." she said, to which the Future Whisper responded with "He's a… special case." he said, to which Nate held up his watch and said "Alright, my turn." Summer watched as he struck a familiar stance and did his usual summoning, summoning Jibanyan once again. He slid the medal into the watch and the usual summoning played out. Summer couldn't help but watch again, the summoning was super cool and flashy, it was full of personality. She wished that she had this watch, it would make this Yo-kai bus-
"TOO BAD!"
Summer blinked, Jibanyan now seemed to be in distress unlike the last time. He ran around the board screaming and crying before falling on his hands and knees. The cheerleaders in the background seemed to have somewhat apologetic looks while more singing began to play. "WHAT WAS IN THAT SUSHI? WHAT WAS IN THAT SUSHI? A GIANT HEAP OF WASABI!" The singing stopped as Jibanyan got on his paws and knees and screamed his name in pain, it was followed by a laugh track and an orchestra playing a losing noise. "Why me, nyan?" Jibanyan said, falling to the ground in pain. "What happened this time?" Tate asked, looking worried. Nate scratched the back of his head, "Well, it is a roulette, sometimes you win… and sometimes you lose." Nate explained, "Oh that poor thing." Isabelle said, with Bruno chiming in. "Do not worry, it's a Yo-kai, it can't die!" he said, to which the Past Jibanyan turned to him. "BUT I CAN BURN MY MOUTH!" he screamed, "Burning your mouth doesn't matter! There is a giant squid that will attack civilization as we know it!" The Past Whisper turned the red cat's face to the problem. "And what do you expect me to do about it, nyan?" Jibanyan asked, a drop of sweat rolling down his cheek. "GO OUT THERE AND DEAL WITH IT!" Whisper gave Jibanyan a push, but luckily he stopped at the edge. "ARE YOU INYSANE? I HATE GETTING WET!" Jibanyan screamed, looking back at Whisper. "No time for that, the world's at stake." Whisper began to push, Jibanyan tried to push back, but it wasn't helpful that he was right by the edge. "BACK SHOULDER THROW!"
"WHISSU!"
Jibanyan launched Whisper at the giant octopus, the octopus' eyes widened in shock as Whisper hit it at full force, causing it to scream in pain and fall into the water. "YOU JIBA-BRAT!" Whisper screamed, before he looked down. "Did he beat it?" Cole asked, to which Jibanyan placed his paws in his stomach band. The squid washed up on shore, now smaller and even a bit cute. Summer knelt down, blushing a bit at the adorableness of the squid. It was white and yellow and had black markings on the head and tentacles. Its eyes were red and had two fangs. "Nya? This little guy was causing all the problems at the beach?" Past Jibanyan poked it. The squid glared at him. "Problems?" he asked. Everyone crowded around the squid, with Past Whisper floating over to it. "You look kinda cute, what happened to the big scary monster earlier?" he asked. "YOU!" the squid said, jumping up and slapping Past Whisper with his tentacles, Tate watched as Past Whisper went flying across the beach. "WHISSU!" he screamed, much to everyone's dismay. "Geez, I didn't do anything wrong, no reason to send giant marshmallows at me. Were planning to cut me next?" the squid asked, Bruno's eyes darted away, which the squid noticed. "You jerks!" He growled, shaking his head from left to right. "It seems kinda angry… but it's also cute!" Summer said, putting her hands together and blushed a bit more. Isabelle did the same, "True!" she said. "What's your name anyway, nyan?" Past Jibanyan asked, the squid glared but then looked at Isabelle, she had her eyes closed and her lips curled into a nice smile. She was so cute. "I-Ikarin!" Ikarin finally introduced himself, blushing red and looking away from Isabelle. "Ah, he's turning red." Tate said, "Aw, is the little guy feeling embarrassed?" Past Whisper asked, to which Ikarin slapped him back into the ocean. "WHISSU!" Past Whisper screamed, flying away. "Is it okay to keep doing that?" Cole whispered to Nate, who simply smiled and shrugged. "T-That's not ink in the slightest!" Ikarin said, his cheeks still red. "I'm Ikarin! I'm beaking mad!" Ikarin growled and shook his head from side to side. "Okay… but why?" Ikarin turned towards an average looking boy in an average looking swimsuit, the tag hadn't even been taken off, talk about lazy. "Why so angry?" the boy continued. "Like I'd tell you." Ikarin shook his head until his eyes fell on Isabelle once again, now giving him a concerned look. He blushed harder, before crossing his tentacles. "Because…" Ikarin began, and everyone tuned in to hear his story.
"Back then, before I became a Yo-kai, I was just an ordinary squid. I got myself bullied by these huge humans! They wanted to fry me, but said I was too small to be tasty." Ikarin said, "You got mad at humans because you didn't get eaten?" past Jibanyan asked. "DON'T INTERRUPT ME!" Ikarin screamed, Bruno chimed in. "No, he was left out in the sun to die, and thus, he was going to drown humans as revenge." Bruno said. "That… makes sense, nyan." Past Jibanyan said. "BOTH OF YOU ARE WRONG! YOUR BEAKING ME MAD!" Ikarin said, before clearing his throat. "I was trying to save people from getting swept by the current. The currents are strong out here and if you get past the buoys, no matter how good you swim, you're getting swept out to sea." Ikarin explained. "Oh! So you were helping people." Summer said. "That's why you said stuff like 'BEGONE!' and 'YOU SHALL NOT PASS!'" Nate said, to which Ikarin nodded. "I've tried my best to squid them away, but you people keep coming!" Ikarin said. "Well, it is a beach." Past Whisper said. "But, why are you helping us?" Isabelle asked. Ikarin looked up at her, "You see… after being bullied by those humans, I couldn't move. I was going to die until I was saved by a small human. He brought me back to the ocean but… he swam out too far and got lost in the current." Ikarin said. "Nyo… lifeguard, nyo… coast guard… nyo parents?" Past Jibanyan asked, Ikarin shook his head. "Just me and the small human." the squid Yo-kai said. Past Jibanyan turned to Tate and the others. "The future is messed up, nyan." he simply said, before allowing Ikarin to continue his story.
"I waited at the buoy for him, but he never came back. I dried up and died, but when I woke up, I was the Yo-kai Ikarin." Ikarin finished his story. "OH MY GOSH! HE JUST WAITED FOR THE CHILD TO COME BACK! WHAT A THOUGHTFUL DEED!" Past Whisper began to cry, holding a box of tissues in his arm. "So, you've been making sure others don't get swept up like that boy." Whisper concluded. Junior put a hand on his cheek. "Squid is so admirable…" he trailed off, but Tate frowned. "Wait a minute…" he dug into his pocket. Isabelle began to cry, the story touched her heart. "I-I didn't know you felt that way." she said, wiping her eyes. "Isabelle…" Summer said, Bruno turned away from the group. "Isabelle is such a kind person." he said, getting looks by everyone. "AHA!" Tate screamed, causing everyone to look at him. "The kid that saved you… he doesn't happen to be this kid, is he?" Tate showed Ikarin the picture on his phone. Ikarin squinted to get a better view, but gasped in shock as he saw the same boy that saved him that day with his parents. "Child swimming with squid and getting lost in the current rescued!" Nate read the headline. "THAT'S THE HUMAN THAT SAVED ME!" Ikarin shrieked with joy. "He's a first grader at my school. That was why school didn't want us going too far into the ocean." Tate explained. "Wait, you weren't making that up?" Past Whisper asked, but everyone seemed to ignore him. "Thank goodness!" Ikarin began to have tears stream down his face. "He was okay!" he started to glow before disappearing entirely, surprising Nate, and the past versions of Whisper and Jibanyan. "G-Goodbye I guess." Nate said, Jibanyan and Whisper surveyed the area around Ikarin. "Nyot a trace." Jibanyan said, both turned to Whisper. "I… think he went to heaven?" He added, although he did leave something behind. A white key-like thing floated over towards Nate, who held out his hand and grabbed it. "His… Keystone, was it?" Nate looked up at his daughter, who nodded. "Ikarin…" Nate said, holding the Keystone up high, it shined a bit in the sun.
?, Future:
"She's here."
Voidera looked up. "She… she is?" he questioned. Shutendoji nodded, "The tree." he tilted his head towards it, the flowers on the tree began to bloom brightly, the bright pink flowers now showed tiny spots of yellow on them. "She… she's come." Voidera said, "We'll begin our search, but I have a sneaking suspicion on who it is already." Shutendoji said, he was in his human form right now, his hands were stuffed into his pockets. He turned and began to walk away, but he stopped at the sight of three beings in the room. One was a cat with fire at the end of its tails, the other seemed to be an otter in a spacesuit with rabbit ears? The other… he didn't know what that was.
"Shutendoji, I presume?" the cat stepped forward, his arms crossed. Shutendoji turned into his Yo-kai form, preparing to fight the small cat. "Nyow, nyow. No need for hostilities. I come to you with a proposition. One that can make your quest for this princess a lot easier, nyan."
While uneasy, Shutendoji placed his hand in front of Voidera, calling him off the attack. "Go on." Shutendoji said, the three began to explain what was going on, all the while Voidera looked unhappy with what they were saying, but Shutendoji on the other hand…
He was more than happy.
A/N: Well... that took a bit haha! I deeply apologize for making you wait, a whole bunch of stuff has happened since the last time I uploaded. Fnaf SB: Ruin was an absolute blast to play and miles better than the base game, a bunch of drama has happened recently in the community though so I might be hyperfixiating on Yo-kai Watch for a bit, which is a good thing. A. More of this story can be produced, B. It's nice to take breaks from the franchise and focus on other things once in a while, C. This break will not last long as the Fnaf anniversary is coming up August 8th, which will make be awesome! I don't have anything planned here sadly, but my personal Fnaf projects will be worked on heavily that day. Enough about funny animatronic bear, let's talk about the funny ghost cat haha! I had a bit of a writers block when writing this, I really did want to work on it, but procrastination and a writers block took over and made me not want to write it. It is based off episode 16 of the Shadowside Anime. I thought Ikarin was actually in Yo-kai Watch 4, but apparently not! Oh well, we also got introduced to Voidera, Doketsu's English name according to the manga (and Wiki too I guess) along with Shutendoji, which was just a cool name in general and I'm glad that wasn't changed (at least not to my knowledge). Next chapter will take place in the past and focus on everyone's favorite ponytail girl, Katie! But trust me, we're gonna be getting into the meat of the story and hopefully introducing the main villain soon. I deeply apologize once again for how long this took, I'm surprised no one updates on the Yo-kai Watch fanfiction site much, there's some cool stuff I want to see continued. But oh well, guess I'll keep this place alive for right now haha! Thank you so much and I hope to see you quicker with these chapters.
