The next few minutes felt like the greatest minutes of Luan's life. As she walked with Yuya, things seemed to feel better than they had in a long time. She even forgot that she was supposed to keep an eye out for her brother. Yuya was so fun and silly that she couldn't help laughing when he was being a goof. He reminded her of herself when she used to do children's birthday parties before... well you know. Eventually, Yuya and Luan sat down near the entrance to the funhouse so they can rest. Yuya had bought some toffee apples and Luan was happy to have some food to eat. Back when she was locked in the basement, Luan barely had anything to eat. It was another one of her brother's cruel punishments. She knew that she may never get a chance to eat food as good as this again so she savored the flavor of her toffee apple. Yuya smiled as he watched Luan eat her treat. Just then, a familiar whack on his head got his attention. Luan heard the sound and turned in that direction. Standing behind Yuya was a young girl holding a paper fan and she didn't look too happy.

"YUYA! I'VE BEEN LOOKING ALL OVER FOR YOU!" She shouted at Yuya. Luan blocked her ears as the girl ranted at Yuya. Luckily she had put Mr. Coconuts in her backpack so she didn't haven't have to worry about toffee getting into her hair. But Yuya smiled."Ease off Zuzu."He said to the girl. "I had a good reason to stop the show." "Yeah RIGHT!" She shouted. "You just wanted to slack off again. Well, I'm not buying it!" "Wha- NO!" Yuya stammered. "I was helping someone who I saw in the crowd! She looked like she needed it." "Well, where is she?!" The girl asked. Yuya pointed to Luan who was still eating the toffee apple. The girl gasped at the sight of her. "What happened to her? She looked like she got mugged!"She asked. "I don't want to talk about it." Luan replied. Yuya put his hand on her shoulder. "It's Ok. I understand if you're conflicted by something." He said. Luan smiled at him. Just then the girl looked at Luan with concern. "I never seen her before." I saw her in the crowd during my latest show," Yuya explained. "She looked like she was lost." Luan shrugged. "I wasn't lost. Just was wandering around." The girl was still looking over Luan. To be honest, she felt a bit uncomfortable. "So where are you from?" She asked with a smile. "It doesn't matter."Luan scoffed. "I ran away, and I'm not going back." Yuya was surprised to hear this. "Really?" He asked concerned. "How come?" Luan sighed. She knew she couldn't avoid it for long. "My brother treats me as a tool." Both Yuya and the girl looked shocked to hear that. "But... but what about your parents?" The girl asked. "I lost my parents in an accident." Luan sighed sadly. "Oh." Yuya said, putting his arm around his new friend. "That's, uh ... that's awful." "It's ok." Luan said. "I did what I had to do. If I didn't leave, things would've gotten worse." The girl stared at Luan. Luan braced herself, expecting the worst. But instead, the girl stroked Luan's forehead. "You poor thing." She said, looking at Luan like she was a stray kitten. She held out her hand. "My name's Zuzu." She said introducing herself. Luan happily shook Zuzu's hand. Just then Yuya's outfit began to glow. "Uh Yuya? what's up with that?" Luan asked in confusion. "Oh. Wonder what they want now?" Yuya asked as he pulled a pendant out of his shirt.

"Yuya, I'm sure if they wanted to give you trouble, They wouldn't let you know by doing that." Zuzu said. This left Luan feeling even more confused. "Who?" She asked. "Well you see-" He began. Just then a flash of light emerged from the pendant that turned into a shape sorta like a door.

(A/N Here's an idea I had. What if there was a pocket dimension inside Yuya's pendant? It would be where Yuri, Yugo and Yuto would be when Yuya's not using their powers.)

"Yuya, why not invite your friend in here?" A voice said from the door like shape. "Oh! Hey Yuto." Yuya said calmly. "You startled me. Sure." Yuya took Luan's hand and helped her through the door like shape. "It'll be ok." He reassured her. The light from the shape was so bright Luan had to cover her eyes in order to see where she was going. When she stopped squinting she and Yuya were in a white room. The room was empty except for three boys in different corners. The first boy had black hair light purple in the front that swept upward and to the right side of his head. He wore punk-style outfit, with a dull green formal shirt and dark blue tie, as well as a black cape-like garment with ripped sleeves and edges plus dark blue pants and black boot-like shoes.

The second boy looked even more like like a weasel than the guy at the dunk tank. He had very short, thick, pink eyebrows and purple eyes and his hair being uniformly violet with pink underneath - his fringes extending to frame his face, with two pointing upwards. He wore an officer's uniform of sorts, consisting of a purple and light blue waistcoat, pink cravat, a two-part cape of red and purple, a purple abbreviated coat with thick cuffs and gold shoulder bands with an amber-colored setting, fastened at the collar bone, and light blue pants tucked into silver-tinted leather boots.

The third boy seemed the most collected out of the three. He had greenish-blue eyes and his hair was dual-colored, with yellow bangs swept to the right and blue in the back. He wore a white jacket with red borders and yellow stripes on the sleeves, along with a white jumpsuit that has red, blue, and yellow stripes that meet in the center in a chevron pattern, white gloves, shoulder, elbow and knee pads, and white, red, and gray boots. To Luan's mind he looked like one of those bikers that she saw on TV.

Luan was surprised by this. Who were these boys? And why were they here in this room? Suddenly she took a double take and gasped. The three boys had the same face as Yuya! Speaking of Yuya, the young entertainer was still next to him. Just then the officer dressed boy was up in Luan's face. "Hey Yuya, Where did you find this new friend? A garbage dump!?" He asked before laughing cruelly like he just made the funniest joke ever. Luan took a step back, terrified. "Yuri, knock it off!" Yuya snapped giving the boy a withering look. "I'm just sayi-" The officer dressed boy started to say. "ENOUGH Yuri!" The punk-style boy shouted stepping forward. He held out his hand. "Nice to meet you." He said, smiling warmly. Luan hesitated before shaking his hand. "Hey. You can trust them." Yuya smiled putting his hand on her shoulder. "I guess we really shocked her bad." The biker boy said with a concerned look on his face. "Well, true." Yuya replied. At this time Luan was so lost for words she couldn't move her mouth. But the punk-style boy smiled at her. "It's Ok. You're safe here." He said. His tone sounded reassuring to Luan who relaxed a bit. "Thanks."She said breathing a sigh of relief. "Don't mention it." The punk-style boy replied. "I'm Yuto by the way." The biker boy shook Luan's hand. "I'm Yugo." He said smiling. "You already met Yuri." Yugo pointed to the officer-dressed boy who was staring at the ceiling. "How come you all have the same face as Yuya?" Luan asked, scratching her head. "Well, it's kinda a long story." Yuto said awkwardly. "Don't bother explaining it to her." Yuri muttered under his breath. "YURI!" Yuya snapped. "What? You always told me to tell the truth! And besides I don't want to scare her!" Yuri sighed in annoyance.

"Sorry about this, Luan." he said, shaking his head. "As you can see, they're a bit eccentric." Luan shrugged. Seeing those three reminded her of her family before her parents left her. Yuya escorted back through the door-like shape. A couple seconds later, they were back in the fairground. Zuzu was checking her watch. "3:35. A new record Yuya." She said when Yuya and Luan emerged. Luan had to squint while her eyes readjusted to the lights of the carnival. Meanwhile Yuya had started to roll a coin on his fingers. The quarter rolled across his knuckles, back and forth. But each time it got to the edge of his hand, it vanished, reappearing at the other side instantaneously.

"You've got 10 minutes until your next dueltaining show, Yuya." Zuzu said, coming over to him. "Uh what's dueltaining?" Luan asked confused. Yuya grinned at her. "I'm glad you asked me that." He said. "Dueltaining is a style of Dueling that makes everyone happy! Me, you, the crowd- the whole world! My dad's not only an expert at it - he invented it!" Luan looked at Yuya in surprise. "Really?" "Yep." Yuya said. "You can learn all the moves at You Show Duel School! Except you can't go to class during a carnival..." Luan sighed in defeat. "There goes a way of me making some decent money!" She muttered under her breath. "Don't worry, I can teach you all you need to know!" Yuya reassured her. "Not that I'm an expert. I'm still a student myself." Zuzu put her hand on Luan's shoulder. "He might look like it Luan, but he has a lot of experience making people smile. So what do you say?" Luan thought about it for a while. She was worried that Lincoln would find her but she could definitely use a way to earn the money. And maybe Yuya's teaching could help her remember what having fun was all about. "Ok. I'm in." She said. "Really? You mean it?" Yuya said surprised. "Of course!" Luan said smiling. "I think the great Yuya Sakaki just got himself a lovely assistant." Just then somehow she heard Yuri's voice! "Oo-hoo-hooh, harsh!" "Yuri, she needs our help. Besides I think she could be a good student." Yuya told him. "Hey! I'm glad you're taking up a apprentice. But we'll have to do something about her appearance," Yuri replied. "She doesn't exactly look the part." Yuya nodded. "Zuzu, you want to help me get Luan ready for the show?" Zuzu nodded and Luan looked at the floor nervously. She didn't like the sound of this.
