Hello everyone! This chapter is the longest chapter that I have written for this story. It is 22 pages and over 8,000 words (which is a lot for me). This chapter is probably my favorite chapter so far. Also, this is Swedish, while this is Irish/Gaelic. I hope that you enjoy!
Chapter 18: Timebomb
Before anyone could say anything else, there was screaming that came from upstairs. Sookie gasped. "Bill!"
I watched as Godric closed his eyes with a lift of the corner of his lips. "No," he said. "I'm here my child. Down here."
In an instant, Eric appeared in the door to the stairs. He vamped over to stand in front of his maker. "Godric," he whispered before falling to his knees.
"You were a fool for sending humans after me," Godric admonished in a calm voice. "Even more so for putting the Queen in danger."
"I can run into danger if I want to Godric," I declared with a snap in my voice. "I don't need anyone's permission."
Godric looked at me with a raised eyebrow, but before he could say anything, Eric spoke up. "I had no other choice. These savages they… they seek to destroy you."
"I'm aware of what they've planned," Godric told him. My heart clenched at the thought of him being gone, despite already changing his mind, and Godric turned to look at me again. He gave me a small smile and shook his head. I breathed a little easier at that. Godric pointed to Hugo – that I just now noticed – was knocked out on the ground. "This one betrayed you."
I looked shocked before turning to Sookie, who confirmed it with a nod. "He's with the Fellowship," she proclaimed. "They set a trap for us."
"How long has it been since you've fed?" Eric asked as he examined Godric, still kneeling in front of him, ignoring what Sookie said.
"I require very little blood anymore," Godric informed him. An alarm started to sound with lights that Flashed on the walls. "Save the human and Lev." He then turned to Sookie and I, nodding his head towards Eric. "Both of you go with him."
"I'm not leaving your side until you are…" Eric started but was cut off by Godric.
"I can take care of myself," Godric snapped in exasperation.
I let go of Sookie to take a step towards the two vampires. "Godric, you should come with us."
Godric simply gave me a look and Sookie came up beside me. Looking between the three of us, she gave us a worried look. "Come on!" she urged. "We have to go."
"Spill no blood on the way out," Godric commanded Eric. "Go."
"Godric," I pleaded moving closer to him.
He turned to me with a soft smile. Cupping my face in his hands, he placed a kiss to my forehead. He looked me int eh eye, placing his forehead on mine. "Buailfidh mé leat taobh amuigh (I will meet you outside)," he whispered to me.
I sighed and nodded. "Is fearr leat (You better)."
He chuckled and let me go. Eric grabbed my arm and pulled me to go it front of him. Sookie took my hand as we ran up the stairs. Steve's voice could be heard over a loudspeaker directing the members of the church to leave the church and for others to get ready for a fight. Eric moved in front of us and stopped to look around the corner at the top of the stairs. "I could have you both out in seconds," he muttered to himself.
"There's kids out there," I reminded him.
Eric didn't even look back at me. "Now, those humans wouldn't think twice about hurting us."
"Why didn't you bring Bill with you?" Sookie queried, narrowing her eyes at him.
"His attachment to you is irrational," Eric spelled out to her. "It clouds his judgement. He would kill every child in this church to save you."
"Why aren't you?" Sookie snapped back.
I slapped her arm with a glare at her condescending tone. "Sookie! You heard Godric. No bloodshed."
Eric finally turned to the both of us with an unimpressed look. "I'm following Godric's order and getting you both out, that's all."
"He's your maker, isn't he?" Sookie realized.
Eric didn't even react as I gave her a glare. "Don't just throw that around Sookie," I warned her. "That's dangerous information to have."
Sookie looked at me in shock that I kept berating her. Before she could say anything, Eric brought attention to him. "Don't use words that you don't understand."
"You have a lot of love for him," she continued.
Eric looked at me for a moment before replying in a faint voice. "Don't use words I don't understand."
I tried to ignore the pain in my heart at his words, as well as off my face. I held his gaze until he turned to look furtively around the corner at the entrance door. The regular members and kids had left, and they were closing and locking the door. Eric went to step around the corner, but I grabbed his hand to hold him back. "Eric, wait."
He turned to me and bent down a little as his lips ghosted over my cheek. "Do you trust me?" he whispered in my ear.
A light shiver went down my spine and I realized with a start that I was starved for his attention after not being around him for two days. I nodded though and tired kept my thoughts on what was going on. Eric squeezed my hand a little. "Then trust me."
He placed a light kiss to my cheek before slipping his hand from mine and walking around the corner. I watched discreetly with Sookie as Eric slouched a little to make him seem less threatening.
"Oh, hey, y'all," he said with a cheerful and happy-go-lucky voice. It made me flinch slightly because I was so used to his deeper tone. I decided then that the deeper tone suited him better than any other. "How's it going? Steve sent me over to man the exit here. Think I can take it from here."
He ended it with a slight chuckle. The more that they talked the more one of them got suspicious. I was doubting that this was going to work the longer it took. When he was asked about not having a steak, I could hear in Eric's voice that he was trying to glamour one of the guys to give him his. The guy was about to hand Eric his steak, but the third guy had moved around to Eric's back. He went to run at him with the steak raised, but I called out to him. "Steak!"
Eric immediately pushed the guy away before turning back around to disarm the others. He ended up with one of the guys against the wall and holding his steak to his throat. I immediately ran to him with Sookie right behind me. "Eric!" I shouted as I stopped next to him. "Remember what Godric said. You don't have to kill him."
He pulled the wooden steak out of the guys hand and threw it to the floor, making a clattering sound. Letting the guy go, he slid to the floor as Eric turned to open the door. "Come on."
Just as he opened the door we saw a whole group of people with crossbows and silver chains. "Those arrows are wood," the guy said from the floor. "You'll never make it through."
"Eric, Teddy, through the sanctuary," Sookie suggested. We turned around to go and open the doors to the sanctuary. Sookie and I were walking quickly in order to keep up with Eric's long strides.
"Where's the exit?" Eric asked.
"Back that way," Sookie replied, pointing to the back corner.
"There are several exits, actually," Steve's voice called as he stepped out and walked over the alter on a platform. We came to a stop as he kept speaking. "For you, the easiest one take you straight to hell."
As if on cue, the sanctuary doors opened and the group from outside walked in. The doors on either side of us both opened to reveal more church members with wooden steaks and silver chains.
"Let us leave," Sookie pleaded. "Save yourselves. No one has to die."
"The war has begun, you evil whore of Satan," Steve preached as we were surrounded. "You vampires cast the first stone by killing my family. The lines have been drawn. You're either with us or against us. We are prepared for Armageddon."
"The vampire you're holding prisoner got away," Sookie tried again as my hand found Eric subconsciously. He squeezed it gently in reassurance. "He's a sheriff. He's bound to send for help."
Steve just shook his head with a chuckle. "I'm not concerned with Godric. Any vampire will do for our grand celebration, and we got one right here."
He pointed to Eric and both Sookie and I looked to his impassive expression. Eric slowly looked over at me before letting go of my hand to cup my cheek. "I'll be fine," he whispered.
Walking forward, I tried to reach for him, but someone came over to hold me back. Eric had been saying goodbye when he cupped my cheek. I could see it in his eyes. He didn't think he was going to make it out but was trying not to make me worry. It wasn't working. He was my mate. I didn't want to let him go. I had just found him, and he was leaving me willingly.
Eric stopped a few paces away from us and slowly looked up at the reverend in a white suit. Steve gave a wide, creepy smile. "Brothers and sisters," he announced with elation. "There will be a holy bonfire at down."
He began to laugh as some of the men walked over and stripped him of his leather jacket. I struggled as more men came over to hold both me and Sookie. Eric laid down on the alter without fighting as they put silver on him to keep him down. The sound of his fangs clicking down made several people jump and tears filled my eyes at his groans of pain. I suddenly hated Godric's order to not spilling blood.
Steve had a giddy smile on his face like a little kid on Christmas morning. "You see?" he began preaching again. "Just as our Lord our Savior was betrayed for thirty pieces of silver, a few ounces of silver can betray a child of Satan to the world!"
"That doesn't make any sense," Sookie argued struggling against the guys holding her. I had stopped struggling and just stared at Eric. "How can you people listen to him?"
Eric then started to speak through the pain he was in. "I-I offer myself in exchange for Godric's freedom. And both of the girl's as well."
"That's noble," Steve commended, nodding his head. "But they're just as culpable as you are. They're both traitors to their race. The human race. They hardly deserve mercy." He then leaned down in Eric's face. "Maybe we should tie the redhead to you so you can meet the sun together." Eric growled at him, but Steve just smiled. "Bet this marshmallow would roast up nicely."
He walked down the stairs towards us, and I felt something in me snap. I turned my eyes to Steve, and I could feel the familiar pressure that accompanied my eyes glowing. A loud feral growl erupted from my chest and echoed in the large sanctuary as I felt myself shift, my claws and fangs growing out. The men holding me let go in fear, but I barely gave them a glance. I just stared at Steve, who looked at me in astonishment.
"What are you?" he whispered in awe.
"You don't need to worry about that," I growled in a deep voice.
Suddenly, there was a series of loud crashes and screams outside the sanctuary and we all turned to the doors. They opened to reveal Bill who shouted for us. I took that moment to try and rush Steve as Bill came forward as well. Before either of us could do anything, Steve brought out a revolver and pointed it at Sookie's head.
"One more step, either of you, or the girl dies!" Steve shouted.
I let out a threatening growl and Bill frowned. "If you shoot her, everyone here will die," Bill declared. "Let her go now. Both of them."
Steve sighed, looking at Sookie in exasperation. "Honestly, what do they see in you?" He then glanced at me. "You, I can kind of understand, but not her. Soldiers, some silver chains for our friend here."
"Don't," Sookie begged, struggling against the guys holding her. "He done nothing to you."
"Sookie, I will be fine," Bill reassured.
Suddenly, there was a voice that shocked me out of my shift. Jason's voice. "Newlin!" There was a pop sound and Steve dropped the gun and shook his hand in pain. There was green paint on his hand as the crowd parted to look at Jason. "Let them go, fuckwad!"
He then shot him again, right between the eyes, before he was grabbed by some of the 'soldiers.'
Bill took that moment to rush towards Sookie. He pushed the two men holding her and grabbed my hand to pull me close as he wrapped an arm around Sookie. I pulled away immediately and ran up the stairs of the platform, Bill shouting my name. Pulling the silver off of Eric, I helped him sit up. "Let's go," I urged. "We need to get out of here."
Eric only growled and before he was even healed, he rushed forward and grabbed Steve by his neck. He picked Newlin up and shoved him down on the steps. "Eric! Do not kill him!" Sookie shouted at him.
"Kill him!" Jason shouted while being restrained. "Kill the motherfucker!"
"God ahead," Steve panted. "Murder us. Murder us before God. We are willing to die."
I saw several of the members look shocked by what he said. I walked towards him and put a hand on the arm that was holding Steve down. "Eric," I said calmly to get his attention. He looked at me briefly out of the corner of his eye before looking back at Steve. "We can go. You don't have to kill him."
"He threatened you," he growled out with a hiss at Steve.
My heart warmed a little at that, but before I could say anything, there was the sound of something running against the wind. It seemed to be all around us before the doors to the sanctuary opened again to reveal Stan and several vampires from Godric's nest.
"Steve Newlin!" Steve called as more vampires joined from the sides. "You have pushed us too far. You expect us to sit on our thumbs while you round up your men to come lynch us?" The members of the church looked around in fear and Eric kept Steve pinned down. "We'll kill you first," Stan continued. "Same way we did your father."
"Oh, God, no," Sookie gasped, and Bill held her closer.
"Murderer!" Steve choked our and struggled against Eric's grip.
"Destroy them," Stan growled. "All of them."
His fangs extended before they all rushed forward. I felt an arm wrap around my waist and looked up at Eric who pulled me close to him. Each vampire grabbed a human, growling while the people screamed.
"Bill, Eric!" Sookie yelled over the noise. "Stop them."
Eric only pulled me closer and growled at a vampire that got too close. Bill shouted that we had to go and began to drag Sookie who shouted for me. Before any blood could be drawn, the voice of Godric ended the chaos. "Enough!" he said in a raised voice. We all turned to see him standing among the organ pipes. "You came for me, I assume. Underling."
"Yeah, Sheriff," Stan grumbled.
"These people have not harmed me," Godric explained. "You see? We can coexist." I smiled at hearing that. "Mr. Newlin, I do not wish to create bloodshed where none is called for. Help me set an example. If we leave you in peace, will you do the same?"
Everyone turned to look at the Reverend that still sat on the ground. "I will not negotiate with subhumans," he declared. He got up on his knees, looking up at Eric with a sneer. Steve loosened his tie as he spoke. "Kill me," he demanded as he bared his neck. Eric only looked at him in barely hidden disinterest. "Do it. Jesus will protect me."
"I'm actually older than you Jesus," Godric told him. "I wish I could have known him, but I missed it."
He suddenly disappeared before reappearing behind Steve and lifted him by the back of his collar. Steve grunted in surprise but quickly put on a firm face.
"Good people," Godric addressed the human mob. "Who of you is willing to die for this man's madness?" It was silent as no one step up. "That's what I thought. Stand down, everyone."
Stan rolled his eyes and let go of the human he was holding. The others slowly let go of theirs as well. "People, go home," Godric commanded the humans. "It's over now."
"Oh, thank God, Bill—" Sookie sighed burying her head in his shoulder.
"It's all right," Bill reassured her. "You're safe now." He kept telling her that as he looked to me, still in Eric's arms. I nodded to him with a smile to let him know I was okay, as the mob started to file out of the church. Bill nodded back with a relieved smile.
Steve begged the mob not to leave him as Godric let Steve go, who fell to his knees with a groan. "I daresay my faith in humankind is stronger than yours," Godric told Steve. He then turned his attention to the vampires. "Come."
Stan walked up to Godric as he came down the steps. "Sir," he tried. "After what these humans have done to you?"
"I said come," Godric commanded with authority. I watched as Stan moved aside to let Godric through and everyone fell into step behind him.
Eric shifted me in his arms, and I looked up to see him watching me with worry in his ocean blue eyes. "Are you okay?" he asked quietly.
"I'm fine," I responded, removing his hand from my waist. He didn't protest but grunted and his head whipped to the side. I had drawn back and punched him right in his left jaw with only half my strength. I was pissed off that he would willingly give himself up. I could feel everyone's eyes on us as Sookie gasped in surprise.
My wolf was furious at Eric as well, not liking that he almost met the true death. Eric looked at me in shock as I growled at him. "If you ever give yourself up again, I will steak you myself," I threatened with a growl. "Understood?"
Eric nodded faintly while fixing his jaw. He had a small smile on his face as I spun around and marched after Godric. Said vampire had a small amused smile on his face as he walked beside me.
*Queen of the Wolves*
We all went back to Godric's home. The moment we walking inside, Willow practically tackled Godric in a hug. He buried his head in her hair. After a moment of just holding one another, they shared a deep kiss before Willow grabbed me and pulled me upstairs with the excuse of getting me ready. Apparently, there was to be a small party welcoming Godric back.
That's how I found myself standing in front of a full-length mirror in a black velvet dress with a deep V-neck and a slit up the left side. It had long wide white sleeves that fell almost to the floor with black flower designs on them. I wore black lace tie up wedge heels. My hair was up in a bun at the base of my head with braids on either side. My make up was a smokey eye and a light pink lip.
The door behind me opened to reveal Willow dressed in a black dress that wrapped around her neck and sinched at the waist with beads. At the bottom, the black faded to red. She had a neutral eye makeup that made her eyes pop and a bold red lip. Her hair fell over her shoulders in curls, the shine back.
I smiled at her. "You look beautiful Willa," I complimented her.
She smiled back at me. "You look gorgeous my Queen."
I rolled my eyes at her. "What have I said about calling me that," I grumbled.
"I'm just teasing you Ted," she giggled. "I wanted to say thank you for keeping your promise to bring him back."
I gave her a tight hug. "I always keep my promises." I pulled back to look in her bright sea blue eyes. "Now, don't let him go."
Willow giggled and nodded. "I don't plan on it." She then held her arm out to me. "Shall we?"
I laughed as I linked my arm with hers. We then walked down the stairs and into the party. Many vampires bowed when they saw me, and I nodded in response as we passed. I noticed Eric speaking to Jason next to the large fireplace. I frowned as we walked up to them. "I hope that everything is okay over here," I said, announcing our presence.
The boys both turned to Willow and I and Eric's eyes widened upon seeing me. He looked me over as Jason smiled nervously. "Yeah, everything's fine," Jason answered with a chuckle as Eric continued to stare at me. "We were just clearing a few things up."
I listened to Jasons heartbeat and found it was rapid in nervousness, but he was being honest with me. I decided not to press and nodded. "Jason, I would like you to meet Willow Ransom," I introduced them as I gestured between them. "Willow, this is my cousin Jason Stackhouse." Willow gave a wide smile and left my side to give Jason a tight hug. Jason looked at me in hesitation. "Godric is her mate."
Understanding lit up his eyes and he gave her an awkward pat on the back. When she let go she put her hands on his shoulders. "Thank you so much for helping to return Godric to me."
Jason waved off the praise with a bashful look. Willow and I said goodbye to Jason as I continued to ignore Eric's eyes staring at me. We walked into the room that Godric was sitting in, and a wide smile lit up Godric's face at seeing us. He held out a hand for Willow and she took it, settling herself sideways in his lap. I smiled softly at the obvious love between them.
Glancing behind me, I saw Eric who was still staring at me. I wished that I would be able to have that someday with him. I turned back to the mated couple in front of me and cleared my throat to break the kiss they were locked in. Smiling, I gestured to the door as I spoke. "I have a surprise for you."
We all turned as both Zander and Georgette walked in with the others. Zander turned and smiled as he walked over to us, pulling Georgette behind him. "Godric!" he laughed.
"Zander," Godric greeted with a chuckle as they hugged.
"Big brother!" Willow exclaimed in excitement at seeing Leo. She ran to give him a large hug as Godric was giving Georgette a hug.
"You both look to be in good health," Godric said pulled back. "I'm glad."
I stepped forward as I introduced him to the other pack members. "Everyone, this is Godric. Godric, you remember Leo. Next to him is his mate, Belladonna Pain. This is one of my Alphas, Bryson Ranger, and his mate Aberdeen. Then we have Nikola Ebonywood and Ciro Hawthorne."
The guys all came up to shake his hand and the girls waved. He turned to me with a proud smile. "You have chosen you pack well Lev," he praised. "I'm glad they have your back. I'm proud of you."
I blushed at the praise when Leo's phone dinged. He looked at it and nodded to me with a solemn look. I nodded back before telling everyone to scatter around the room. They all did so as I looked to Willow and Godric. "Your parents are on their way Willow," I filled them in, and Willow sighed. "Dante and Danica are right behind them. Just be calm and act normal. We'll take care of it."
They both nodded and went back to his chair with Willow retaking her place in his lap. I went in search of Sookie and Bill. I found them talking in the other room. Sookie was wearing a white, knee length trench coat over her dress. I walked up to them with a smile and wrapped my arm around Sookie's shoulders.
She turned to me and her jaw dropped at seeing me. "Is there something on my face?" I teased.
Closing her mouth, she smiled at me. "No, I've just never seen in such a beautiful dress before."
I blushed at her compliment as I glanced down at my dress. "It was a gift from Godric. He always said that I needed at least one fancy dress in my closet."
"Why haven't you worn it before?" Bill asked with a curious look.
"I left it here," I replied with a slight smile. "I knew that I wouldn't wear it to any of our bonfires, and I knew that I would only be able to wear it here."
"What are these bonfires that you keep talking about?" Bill asked.
"It's a party for the wolves," I told him with a smile. "But it's also like a council meeting. Any pack that has a major issue can come to us so we can work through it and give a verdict. Next time we have one, you'll have to come."
He smiled before Sookie turned to him with a certain look. "So, what were you saying kept you from coming?" she asked. Bill stuttered a little and glanced at me. I went to speak but Sookie kept going. "Was Eric a part of it?"
"Mm heard my name," Eric popped up out of nowhere, his eyes finding my figure and keeping them there. "I hope you were speaking well of me?"
I met his stare head on while Sookie gave him a blank stare. "Why should I? You let both of us walk into a trap."
"I regret that," Eric replied immediately, and I could fell that he was truthful with it. "If I had known it was a possibility—"
"You did know," Sookie snapped, cutting him off. "But because it was Godric you'd risk anything."
For the first time in the conversation, Eric's eyes slid over to Sookie. His eyes looked like glaciers, and I had to hold back the shiver that went down my spine at that look. "The bond between a vampire and his maker is stronger than you can imagine," he explained in an annoyed tone. Eric's eyes then cleared to an ocean as he looked me over again. "Now, if I could steal Theodora for a moment?"
Before I could say anything, the sound of a car door slamming sounded along with loud voices. The voices got louder before the door opened and Willow's parents walked through the door. The whole room just ignored them as they searched the crowd for their daughter.
"Who are they?" Sookie inquired curiously.
"Nixon and Zoey Ransom," I answered her and all three of them looked to me in shock. "They're Willow's parents. Excuse me."
I slowly made my was to the room they went into with the three of them following. I could hear them shouting for Willow, and they were suddenly quiet. Making my way through the crowd, I saw they had stopped in front of the chair that both Godric and Willow sat in. Godric looked at them with an impassive look with his arm wrapped around her waist and his hand resting on her hip. Willow, on the other hand, had a small glare in place with her arm laying across the back of his shoulders and her other hand on his chest.
From the side, Dante and Danica both pushed their way through the crowd that had formed. "Mom! Dad! Don't do this!" Dante begged, stepping closer to them. "Godric just got back. There's no reason to be doing this now."
Nixon pushed him away when he got close to them, and Danica came up to steady him. "We don't take orders from anyone," he growled at his youngest.
"Willow," Zoey growled as she didn't look away from her daughter. "Get down here. We're going home."
"No, mother," Willow snapped back. "I'm not going anywhere. Whatever you have to say, you can say in front of my mate as well."
Nixon growled at that. "That leech is not your mate!" he shouted, and I had to hold back Eric from going out there. "He's glamoured you into believing that!"
Willow growled as her eyes glowed red in anger. Godric's other hand came up to rub her thigh in a calming manner. "Calm down darling," he spoke softly. Willow relaxed in his arms with her eyes returning to their sea blue. Godric then turned his attention to her parents in front of him. "I can assure you that I would never do anything like that to your daughter. I love her, not just the bond. I would never harm her in any way."
"Like we would believe a heartless creature like yourself," Zoey sneered.
"We put a lot into getting you away from him," Nixon revealed with a thunderous expression. He walked towards them and grabbed Willow's arm. "We will not allow you to be mated to this dead fucker."
"Then it's a good thing that it's not up to you," I countered him. The crowd parted for me as both Nixon and Zoey spun around to see me with horror and fear in their eyes. I narrowed my eyes at Nixon. "Let go of her Nixon."
Nixon opened his mouth to argue but my eyes glowing cut him off. He let go of her arm and returned to his wife's side. I walked toward them slowly as they both grew nervous. "My Queen," Zoey tried. "Let us explain."
"Save it," I snapped with a growl, and she flinched. I stared to circle them as I spoke. "You both have been trying my patients since this whole situation started. First, you didn't tell me when either Godric or Willow disappeared. Second, you violated pack rules by being acting Alphas when that should have gone to Dante. Third, you come into Godric's home and start to demand things from you Alpha that you have no right to do. And lastly, not only did you admit it, but it was confirmed by both Godric and Willow. You both tried to sever the mate bond between them."
"There is no mate bond!" Zoey shouted. "He's glamoured her!"
My eyes glowed and an almighty growl erupted from me. Zoey and Nixon both flinched away from me. "I want you to think very hard before you speak in this house," I warned them. "You have not friends here."
They both looked around the room to see several vampires were bearing their fangs. The members of my pack had moved through the crowd and stood in a circle around us. Everyone had hard looks on their faces, but Leo gave them a sad, mournful look. Zoey spotted him and took a step forward, but he took a step back with a shake of his head. Tears filled her eyes as she was pulled into her husband's arms.
"You both have violated our most sacred law," I announced to them, and they turned to me in worry. "You tried to sever the mate bond between a wolf and their mate. A great crime as you well know. I would ask what you have to say for yourselves, but you've made that abundantly clear."
They both looked startled at my tone of voice. I took a deep breath and let it out slowly. "You both are being moved to a new pack," I commanded. "You have forty-eight hours from now to pack your belongings and leave Dallas. My Alpha, Felix, will call you with details of your new pack when we find one to take you. Consider yourselves Omegas until further notice."
Zoey growled briefly before lunging at me. Quickly grabbing her arm, I spun it and twisted her arm behind her back. Nixon went to go forward, but was caught by Eric, who used his vampire speed to grab him by his throat. Eric's fangs were bared, and he hissed at Nixon.
"Coming at the Queen is considered to be treason," I mentioned off handedly.
"There must always be a Ransom as the Alpha of Dallas," Nixon groaned.
"And there will be," I told him. "It just won't be either of you. And before you say anything else, I could easily have you killed for the crimes that you've committed. The only reason that I'm not is because of your children. All three of them have been nothing but honest and loyal to me. This is how I can repay that."
I motioned Bryson forward and pushed Zoey into his arms. Walking forward, I motioned to Zander, and he walked up as I stopped beside Eric. I reached up and laid my hand on his arm, using my strength to push his arm down. Eric's stormy blue eyes snapped to my calm emerald green eyes. I kept my eyes on his as I took his hand off Nixon's throat and Zander came forward to take him.
Eric's eyes cleared but then started to turn steely as his eyes flicked down to my lips for a moment. I smiled softly at him before I turned to Bryson and my brother. "Make sure that they leave. I will tell you one more time. You have forty-eight hours to pack and leave Dallas. I suggest you head home and get started."
The both nodded in defeat before they were escorted out. I turned to Godric and Willow. "I apologize Sheriff for the disturbance in your home."
"It is no problem, my Queen," Godric waved off. "My home is your home. You are always welcome here."
I nodded with a small smile. "Thank you. If it wouldn't be too much trouble, if I could use my old room?"
"Of course," he agreed with a nod. "It's still the way you left it."
I nodded to him before giving them a curtsy and they responded with Willow doing a curtsy and Godric bowing. I gave one last look at Eric, who hadn't taken his eyes off of me. He still had a hold of hand and I slipped it out as I turned. Walking through the parting crowd, I made my way upstairs and found my old room.
The walls were a forest green while the carpet was a navy blue. The mahogany wooden canopy bed still had amethyst purple curtains. The bed had black silk sheets and a violet comforter. I smiled at the mahogany desk and dresser on the opposite sides of the room. There was a forest green lounge chair in the corner next to the door by a mahogany bookcase. Godric had always made sure that I had the best, even if I objected to it.
I walked over to the double doors that led to the balcony and opened it. I walked out to see Nixon and Zoey climb into their car and drive off. Sighing, I looked up at the moon and stars in the sky. The stars and moon always calmed me down.
The sound of my door opening and closing came to my ears. I closed my eyes as the smell of crisp ocean air surrounded me as he joined me on the balcony. "Can I help you Eric?" I asked in a flat tone, not wanting to deal with him right now.
"You're not doubting you decision, are you?" he asked.
"Never," I snapped, turning my head to glare at him. "I simply needed a moment to myself. Again, can I help you with something?"
Eric searched my eyes for something before taking a step towards me. "So, now you're talking to me?"
I raised an eyebrow. "What the fuck are you talking about?"
"You haven't said a word to me since you punched me," he explained. "Why did you punch me?"
"You think that I want you to die!?" I snarled at him, and he looked at me with wide eyes. "It pissed me off that you would give yourself up without a fight. Did the past few days mean nothing to you!?"
Eric was quiet for a moment staring into my eyes. He ran a finger up my left arm. "It's true," he whispered, and I tilted my head in confusion. "I'm your mate, aren't I?"
"Damn it Godric," I grumbled with a huff. I looked up into his expectant blue eyes and I sighed through my nose. "Yes, it's true."
Eric narrowed his eyes as they turned to ice. "Why didn't you tell me?"
I scoffed. "I didn't trust you back then. I didn't want you to take advantage and use it to your benefit. That or become mated and they you leave me alone, moving on."
Eric was quiet and just stared at me. I pulled away from him and went to walk away when he grabbed my arm. He pulled me back to him our faces inches from each other. "How long have you known?"
"Since the incident with Longshadow," I answered quietly.
There was a growl from Eric's chest, and I could feel it because there was barely any room between us. "So, I was right," he growled. "You are mine."
I growled back, my eyes flashing. "I told you before. If you want me to be yours, it is as equals. If I belong to you, then you belong to me. No one else."
Eric leaned forward and captured my lips with his in a slow careful kiss. When he pulled back, my eyes opened to see steely blue eyes staring at me in hunger. "As long as you're not anyone else's, I think that I can agree to that," he told me.
I searched his eyes before trying to read his emotions. He was being sincere with his words. My hand reached up to pull his head down to mine as our lips connected in a hard and passionate kiss. My other hand came up to wrap around his neck as his hands found my waist. As the kiss kept going, his hands came up. One went to the back of my head and the other came up between my shoulder blades.
I pulled back for air and Eric latched onto my neck, making me let out a moan. I heard his fangs click down in response and he pulled back to look at me. He held up a wrist to me and I furrowed my brows in confusion while I caught my breath. "I don't care if you've already had my blood," he told me. "You'll take my blood again before I take yours."
"You'll be tying yourself to me," I told him. "This is a way of marriage to the wolves. Are you sure you want that?"
"As long as your mine, I don't care," he countered, pulling me flush against him. I could feel a bulge poking my stomach, letting me know how much he wanted me. "I already knew that when I kissed you, I wouldn't be able to have anyone else."
I smiled at that and nodded to him. Before he could bite his wrist, I grabbed his wrist. Smirking at him, I let my canines grow before biting into his wrist. There was a hiss from him as I drank his blood. I let go and licked the blood away from his wrist and my mouth.
Eric leaned forward and licked the blood away from my chin before making his way down my neck. His fangs ran over my skin causing me to shiver. I could feel him smirk against my skin before there was a sting as he bit me. My mouth fell open, and another moan left me. Eric's arm tightened around my waist so I couldn't pull away.
I pushed lightly on his chest when I felt he had enough. He licked away the blood as the bite marks healed up. Eric pulled back, licking the blood from his lips. We stared at each other a moment and I could tell Eric was trying to get used to the feelings that I had at the moment. "Do you feel it?" I asked quietly. "The bond."
My wolf howled in my head at finally being complete. Eric's eyes widened. "Was that your wolf?"
I giggled and nodded. "She's just excited. We'll work on filtering the connection later."
He nodded as he looked at me. His hand came up to cup my cheek before giving me a slow kiss. We both deepened it as we went. Eric's other hand traced up my spine as my hands reached under his shirt. Finding the back zipper, he pulled it down. We both let go of each other as he pulled off his shirt and I stepped out of my dress.
Eric let out a groan when he saw my black lace lingerie set. I ran my hands up his abs, feeling the muscles twitch at my touch. I looked back up into his steel blue eyes and he cupped my face with his hands, bringing me back into a deep kiss. He walked us back as he rid me of my bra, and I unbuckled his belt and unzipped his jeans. We broke apart as Eric picked me up and tossed me onto the bed.
I laughed as I bounced a little. Eric grabbed my ankles and pulled me towards him as he stood at the edge of the bed. He kicked off his shoes, socks, and his jeans, leaving him in his boxers. Bending over me, he gave me a slow kiss before making his way down my jaw and to my neck. He continued down and stopped to pay attention to both of my breasts. Licking and sucking one, he would fondle the other making me arch into him and let out a loud moan. He switched to give the other the same treatment before going further down.
Eric licked my stomach, making me giggle before he rid me of my underwear. He straightened up to toss it over his shoulder and grabbed my legs before kissing his way down my right leg. I squirmed a little bit, letting out a whine, and he chuckled before doing the same with the other leg.
"Eric," I whined.
"What do you want Theodora?" Eric purred, leaning over me again as he stroked my stomach.
"Don't tease me," I begged. "Please."
"Well, since you asked so nicely," he growled before getting on his knees and burying his face in my core.
I moaned loudly, arching my back as one hand gripping the sheets and the other burying itself in his hair. My hips bucked and Eric draped an arm over my hips to keep me still. He licked and sucked at my core before putting in two fingers. I groaned loudly and pulled Eric's hair, so he was leaned over me again. He leaned into my neck and let out a deep groan.
"You're so tight älskling," he groaned.
"It's been nearly ten years leannán (lover)," I ground out and he stretched me with his fingers. "I've only been with one other person."
"And you'll never have anyone else again," he growled, and he went back down to suck at my clit. I could feel my orgasm quickly approaching and Eric came back up to me. "Let go älskare (lover). Cum for me."
I let go, a scream erupting from my throat in the form of his name. Eric licked and sucked everything before kissing up my body as I came back down from my high. I pulled him up to me by his hair and kissed him hard, not caring that I could taste myself. My vampire mate groaned into the kiss as I felt him rub against me.
We parted and I looked into his eyes, which were completely steel gray now. "Don't tease me Eric," I whispered.
He smirked and rolled his hips against mine. He had taken off his boxers while I was coming down. "Tell me what you need älskling," he purred to me. "Tell me and I'll give it to you. The Queen must say what she wants in order to get what she wants."
I groaned as he kept rocking his hips against me. I had never wanted someone so bad in my life than I did right now. Deciding to tease back, I reached behind his back, grabbing his waist and pulled him flush against me. Taking my right hand, I grabbed the back of his neck and pulled him down so I could reach him. I dragged my tongue over his throat, a deep growl coming from his chest at the action. Tugging on his earlobe with my teeth, I whispered in his ear. "I need you. I need you inside me Eric. Fuck me leannán."
Eric let out another hungry growl as he pulled back to line himself up. He slowly pushed his length into me, both of us groaning at the feeling.
"Fuck, you're so tight," his voice rumbled in my ear as he leaned over me. "And you're all mine. No one else will ever touch you again."
I whimpered at the feeling of being so full as he thrust into me slowly, letting me get used to his size. Eric was much larger than Zane ever was. There was some pain but as he kept going, the pain faded. I let out a loud moan as I pulled him closer to me. I wrapped my legs higher on his waist, pulling him deeper. I began to roll my hips to meet him thrust for thrust.
"Harder, faster Eric please," I whispered. He was leaning in my face, his fangs bared and staring into my eyes. He started to go harder and sped up a little as we maintained eye contact. There was nothing that I could concentrate on except Eric and what he was doing to my body.
Looking into his eyes, I could tell that he was holding back. I gave him a nod and a pleading look. He let out an angry growl before pounding into me. Just like when we first kissed, he was taking what he wanted from my body, and I couldn't care. I pulled him down to me as we kept going at a faster pace. I kissed him hard, dragging my tongue over his fangs. He groaned into my mouth as my body trembled in his hold.
I shifted in his hold and flipped us over. Grinding down on him, I put my hands on his chest for balance. Eric's hands came up to cup my breasts as he met my rhythm. He sat up to bite and suck on one before turning to the other one to give it the same treatment as I arched into him. Eventually, he brought his assault to my neck with open mouth kisses and licks. The scraping of his fangs caused me to shiver a little.
I could feel my orgasm coming quickly. Cradling his face in my hands, I made him look into my eyes. "Eric – baby – I'm gonna cum."
"Cum for me," he growled to me. "I'm right behind you."
I let go and screamed his name as he followed me after a few more thrusts. As we came down, we sat there just basking in the aftershocks and holding each other. I was trying to get my breath back as Eric moved us to the head of the bed. He put me under the covers before joining me and pulling me to lay on his chest. "God, that was good," I expressed with a smile.
Eric chuckled, his chest rumbling as I let out a yawn. "Get some sleep älskling. You'll need it. You're mine now Queen of the Wolves."
"Just as you're mine, Viking," I yawned and snuggled into his chest to take a well-deserved nap after the crazy and long couple days that I've had. Eric held me close as I drifted off to sleep.
