Chapter 2 - Alex vs Ground Beef

A young man roughly 14 years stood on a cliff that overlooked Camp Half-Blood, a safe haven for demi-gods hidden from mortal eyes.

The young man had light skin with a slight tan from being exposed to the sun. His long hair is black and held in a ponytail with long bangs being swept to the right side. His eyes were an emerald, green color inherited from his mother. He stood an impressive 5'7 with a lean, toned body like an Olympic swimmer or runner. His attire consisting of a black jacket with a green inner-lining and green buttons that had yin-yang symbols, a green shirt beneath that, dark pants held up by a belt with a yin-yang buckle, and black boots that went halfway up his shins. The young man also wielding a small spear of 30" hoisted on the back of his right shoulder. The blade of the spear was a sterling silver color, the handle was curved with polished black leather wrapped tightly around, and the shaft was of golden wood with intricate markings. (1) He also had two chakram blades on his sides.

The young man is Alexander, son of Edenian General Jade and Hades, God of the Underworld. A Half-Blood of a Greek god and Edenian.

He was born shortly after the Netherrealm War (2) along with the Royal Children Chow, Lin, and Calla and began to train under his mother Jade as well as his many teachers in Liu, Ermac, Sheeva, and Bo'Rai Cho. He mastered several of the styles that his mother had learned over her long and illustrious life as Shao Khan's assassin as well as others from his teachers. He studied Sojutsu and Bojutsu under his mother as well as having some magical training to augment his fighting abilities. He also took the time to learn to use chakram blades in conjunction with a few of his fighting styles as melee and throwing weapons.

He was considered human by all appearances and form, but he was much stronger than a regular human due to his long time of training, meditation, and physical practice, along with having a very strict yet healthy life, thus he was at the peak of human ability and skill. He was also half Edenian on his mother's side and half god on his father's and unlike most humans, he had increase strength, stamina, power, magical potential, and also having a much longer life span then most if not every human he knew of.

When he found out that his mother and 'aunt'/godmother were over ten thousand years of age and the queen over twenty thousand (3) and still looked radiantly beautiful, he was amazed.

As soon as he was older by human standards, he had taken the time to make trips with his mother to Earthrealm to learn of his Earthling heritage and where he met Edenia's allies, it was in Earthrealm that he learned to take in a love for technology to become a "normal teen boy" as stated by Cassie while retaining his respect for the powers of magic due to his training under his mother. Jade also had Alexander learn about Greek Mythology for some reason, but he didn't complain as he enjoyed learning about the Greek Patheon heroes, deities, and stories.

You may be wondering why he was in Earthrealm to begin with. The answer was because of one man,

Johnny Cage.

After Shao Kahn's invasion of Earthrealm, Johnny's status as a Hollywood icon grew into a global phenomenon. When a photographer got a lucky shot of Johnny Cage in the middle of the invasion, all of Tinseltown went into a media frenzy.

The cover story was that Johnny was scouting the city as a potential location for his next film when Shao Kahn's forces invaded, and he was quickly roped into the defense of Earthrealm as one of its fighters. After all, who would believe that an actor with martial arts training who does his own stunts was invited to a tournament that decides the fate of the realm.

After Shao Kahn's defeat and the end of the Mortal Kombat tournament, Sonya agreed to go on a date with Johnny. One date. It was a BBQ place in Hollywood that specialized in Texas BBQ which won big points with the Austin native…and she enjoyed herself. It scared her how much she enjoyed spending time with him. Suffice to say, Johnny was surprised when Sonya had asked him out on a second date. He agreed right away.

Two years after Shao Kahn's invasion, Shinnok attacked Earthrealm with his army of Netherrealm demons in an effort to steal the lifeforce of Earthrealm, the Jinsei in what would be dubbed the Netherrealm War. During the war, Johnny had been injured by the sorcerer Quan Chi who intended to make Cage into a revenant. Sonya not only saved Johnny, but she also showed Quin Chi that he belongs to her and her alone…painfully via a stomp onto his family jewels. Unfortunately, he escaped.

One year after the war, Cassandra 'Cassie' Carlton Cage was born on May 29th, 1993. Raising a daughter with the woman he loved was more challenging than any role Johnny undertook as an actor, but it was the most rewarding.

Cassie led an interesting life, along with her best friend Jacqueline "Jacqui" Sonya Briggs. Because of their family's close friendship, Cassie and Jacqui would sometimes visit Edenia and vis versa. This resulted in Cassie, Jacqui, Lin, Chow, Calla, and Alexander somewhat growing up together.

Before they started high school, Johnny visited Edenia with an idea to better promote inter-realm relations. Alex, Lin, Calla, and Chow would be fostered in Earthrealm where they would attend high school with his daughter and goddaughter/niece to better learn more about Earthrealm. A culture exchange as he called it. The children wanted to go, especially the girls, since Cassie and Jacqui introduced them to what Sonya called "modern devices of the distracted age".

Chow wanted to go for a different reason. After hearing of his father's time as a student of the White Lotus and training in the Wu Shi Academy in Yuunan China(4), Chow wanted to follow in his father's path before he met his mother. So, Chow would be fostered with the White Lotus under master Kung Lao at the shaolin temple where Liu grew up.

Alex, Lin, Calla, Cassie, and Jacqui first year as Freshmen at Beverly Hills High School went well. They were all the top of their class and very active in school events. Alex struggled a bit though as he suffered from ADHD and dyslexia but managed to push through it. Calla also struggled because of her Tarkatan heritage. Her cheeks were missing, and in their place was a set of long, jagged Tarkatan fangs. Her lips were the only thing that kept her mouth from being permanently agape thanks to her fanged teeth. As a result, she was forced to wear a facemask in public, being comfortable taking it off only in the Cage/Blade family home where she stayed. Nonetheless, she was extremely beautiful as was Lin thanks to their Edenian heritage and had the attention of most boys and a few girls from freshmen to seniors. Alex himself had a few female admirers due to being part-Edenian.

Near the end of the school year, the news reported strange weather phenomenon's out in the Atlantic Ocean. It was as if the sky and sea were fighting each other. Shortly afterward, Jade had contacted Johnny and Sonya, saying that Alex needed to go to New York, specifically Long Island to a special camp. When asked why, he was told it had to do with his father, who Alex knew little about, and that he would get answers at the camp.

Using Johnny's private jet, Alexander flew from Los Angeles International Airport to Long Island Mac Arthur Airport. When he landed, he decided to walk to the camp.

Now on the cliff, he could see a huge bull-shaped creature, the Minotaur right before where the barrier to camp was. In its hand was a person, a grown woman while two boys were nearby.

Before Alex could react, the Minotaur squeezed the woman who vanished into a golden light making him angry. Being raised by only his mother he had great respect for women and seeing a woman hurt set his blood on fire. "No!" He yelled seeing the creature clearly about to attack the two boys. Alex crossed his arms as he fell back, the earth seemingly swallowing him as if he fell in a pool.

He had to hurry.

Life wasn't fair to some people and Percy Jackson knew it. First his math teacher turned into a monster, then his best friend turned out to have goat legs, now his mother was gone.

'Why is this happening to me!?' Cried Percy in his head as the Minotaur charged. Everything seemed to be in slow motion as the creature charged closer and closer, its horns poised to skewer both boys. Just as Percy closed his eyes while shielding Grover with his body, the ground seemed to open in front of the creature as Alexander was launched from below, striking the Minotaur with a rising uppercut.

Landing, he turned and saw Percy looking at him with a wide-eyed expression of disbelief. Going over he checked the boy for injuries.

"What's your name?" He asked as the boy was mostly ok, just some cuts and bruises.

"Per-percy. Who are you?" He stammered.

"My name is Alexander. Alex for short."

A bellow of rage interrupted the two demi-gods as the Minotaur recovered from the uppercut. Its hateful eyes glaring at Alex as it lowered its head and charged. Alex met its charge with his own while Percy just thought he was crazy.

Just before they met, Alex disappeared into a portal. A second later he emerged at the Minotaur's side and kicked it so hard in the knee that it shattered its kneecap, making it bellow in pain. It tried to grab Alex but he simply jumped away. Percy suddenly appeared behind the Minotaur as he yelled and latched on its back as it started jerking around as Percy grabbed its left horn.

A loud ripping noise was heard as Percy was flung from the back of the Minotaur, its left horn in his hand. Percy hit the ground hard and fell unconscious. Seeing Percy away from the beast, Alex jumped in the air and flew at the Minotaur with a flying kick. It saw him coming and blocked with its massive forearm. With the same forearm, it flung Alex ten feet away towards a tree. In midair, Alex corrected himself and land on the side of the tree and jumped off. Not a second later, the Minotaur slammed into the tree, charging the moment it flung Alex away, hoping to gore him with its remaining horn but missed.

The monster struggled as its remaining horn was embedded in the thick trunk of the tree. Preoccupied with freeing itself, it didn't notice Alex until it felt a vicious punch to the side of its face. The force of the blow caused its remaining horn to rip off as it stayed impaled in the tree.

Alex then decided to end it.

(Cue X-ray, Down&Out)

Jumping in a portal, Alexander appears above the Minotaur and delivers a vicious axe kick on top of the Minotaur's skull.

(Cue the X-ray of the Minotaur's skull cracking)

Alexander continued his assault by grabbing the Minotaur by its broken horns and bringing it face down on his knee.

(Cue the X-ray of the Minotaur's face fracturing and snout bending)

Finally, Alexander takes his spear and thrusts it into the Minotaur's abdomen as it extends.

(Cue the X-ray of the Minotaur's organs pierced and ruptured)

Alex kicks the beast off his spear as it collapses while the Minotaur landed in a mangled heap.

"Chiron, I see them by the line!" A female voice alerted Alexander that people were coming, but he was focused on the Minotaur's as it laid on the ground injured, moaning in pain. Twirling his spear several times, Alex swiped at its neck. Its head cut clean off before it disappeared in a shower of gold dust along with its body.

Turning, the Edenian saw who he assumed was Chiron and immediately went into a defensive stance. Chiron lower half was that of a horse. He thought that Kotal Kahn had broken the treaty (5) and sent one of his warriors but relaxed when he noticed a key difference, Outworld Centaur's have long tails that they use as an extra limb to attack. Chiron had a normal horse tail.

Next to him were two girls.

One was a girl that looked the same age as Percy. She had a typical California look to her with long honey-blond hair set in princess curls and tanned skin. Her eyes, however, were stormy gray.

The other girl looked slightly older with a fit figure that seemed to add to her beauty. She had chocolate brown eyes and brown hair. Alex could tell from the way she carried herself, she was a warrior.

Both girls wore orange t-shirts that read "Camp Half-Blood" with the brown-haired girl also having a camo jacket over her shirt.

Chiron lifted Percy in his arms while the girls lifted the Satyr while Alex grabbed the horn still lodged in the tree then crossed the border into the safety of the camp. "My boy. Are you alright? May I ask who you are?" Chiron asked calmly.

The Edanian saw the sun slowly start to rise as the storm passed and morning came. "My name is Alexander." Alex replied as the blond girl turned to Chiron.

"Is he the "one""?

"Quiet Annabeth." Answered Chiron. "Let us not tempt the fates."

Alex wondered what the girl meant as he, the boy, the Satyr, the two girls, and the Centaur crossed the barrier and entered the camp.

Hi everyone. Here is the second chapter of Son of Hades. We've officially entered "The Lightning Thief" and as you can see, Alexander is in Earthrealm. My OCs will be staying with the Cage/Blade family and unlike NetherRealm Studios my Johnny and Sonya have a "somewhat" stable marriage life. I always felt Ed Boon squandered the life Sonya could have had with her husband and daughter so in my story, they never divorced. Also because Jax was never made into a revenant, he lives a stable life with his wife and daughter in California. Since in MK11 Cassie says she graduated BHHS in 2010, I'm guessing she was born in 1993. I've also been reading the MKX comics in my spare time to help.

I hope you all like Alexander's X-ray. I am creating another story titled "My MK OCs" that will have information on my OCs with intro's, background info, custom fatalities, and endings. Here is a brief summary of Alexander's abilities, since he is a child of the big three, he'll have access to a wide range of abilities.

I'm trying to create 1 Fatal Blow, 1 X-ray, and 5 Fatalities. The fatalities are for each ability.

Here is his X-ray named Down&Out.

X-ray: Alexander jumps in a portal and delivers an axe kick to Kabal's skull, cracking his head, he then grabs Kabal's head and brings it down on his knee, fracturing his face, finally Alexander takes his spear in its collapse form and thrust it in Kabal's abdomen as it extends, piercing and rupturing his organs before kicking him away.

Now before anyone says Alexander is already OP remember not only is he half Edenian but he is also half god and a child of the big 3. Children of the big 3 are said to be more powerful than other demigod children and Edenian's are stronger than mortals. Fighting the Minotaur would be like fighting Motaro or Goro who I'm sure could easily take on the Minotaur.

Now for announcements.

(AN 1) Alexander's spear is based on Nuada's spear from Hellboy 2. He can use it as a sword in its collapsed form which is 30"(inches) or extend it to its full length of 6'(feet).

(An 2) Theirs is no official name of the conflict at the start of MKX so I am naming it the Netherrealm War. Shao Kahn's invasion from MK9 (2011) happened in 1990. Two years later in 1992, Shinnok started the Netherrealm War. Because of these conflicts, mortals are aware of the realms and it's non-human inhabitants but the Mist the gods have created still keeps them somewhat ignorant.

(An 3) We don't really know how old characters like Kitana, Jade, and Sindel are since all that's said in the MK wiki site is that Kitana is 10,000 or over 10,000.

(An 4) The location of the Wu Shi Academy and White Lotus HQ is never specified. Only that it is in China so I choose the Yuunan province of China.

(An 5) Kotal Kahn's treaty will be explained in another story titled "Son of Hades one shots" that will have random points of my OC's (Alexander, Calla, Lin, and Chow) growing up. Kotal's treaty with Edenia/Earthrealm will be explained there.
