Here we are with another chapter. Originaly, this one was going to be split into two, but after wriging the one after, i decided to fuse these two together. Honestly it feels to flow better.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy this one!
I i do not own anything that is Kingdom Hearts or Fire Emblem related.
Chapter 1: The Verge of History
"I wonder what it is that Master Yen Sid needs to tell us," Kairi asks Sora as they ascend the staircase in the Mysterious Tower, its pathways divided yet linked by standalone doors, hovering above a void of light.
"Who knows, but we should find out soon," Sora replies with a sense of seriousness, his gaze locked on the door to Yen Sid's room. He knocks on the door a few times, the sound echoing through the vast open space around them. I don't think I'll ever get used to this Tower.… "Master Yen Sid. You called for us?"
"Yes. Come in." The couple hears his reply through the door. He opens it with a low creak as the wooden door swings slowly as they enter the room; Master Yen Sid is seated and reading a large book, his face stern and focused. He glances up at them before allowing a small smile to form briefly before falling. "I am glad you have come. We have much to discuss."
"You mentioned and 'old Darkness' has returned; what did you mean by that?" Kairi asks with a hand on her chest as they approach the front of the desk. Yen Sid breaths a deep sigh before glancing at the stars.
"As you know, each star represents a world, unique and separate. And as you know, the World Order had been placed to keep this fact a secret. However, some have knowledge about this and keep it hidden. Watchers such as myself and Keyblade Wielders are the most common. But there are others. Rulers of some worlds have knowledge of this, such as King Triton that you encountered on your first journey Sora." Sora nods his head at this, remembering the King and how harsh he was to him, Donald and Goofy at first.
"This threat that I had mentioned in my letter is one such being that would see the World order be brought down, and all worlds succumbed to his Darkness."
"Sounds like another Maleficent or Xehanort to me, Master. But how is this threat different from the ones we faced before?" Sora asks with a hand on his chin, head tilted. Yen Sid nods at Sora, acknowledging his question.
"You are correct to assume this. However, this is far more destructive. For he does not seek to enslave or rule. Instead, he seeks to destroy and consume. To be the only living creature left." Sora and Kairi go eyes enlarge. A being that seeks nothing but destruction? Just what is this creature that he is talking about?
"Many years ago, back when I was young and had been granted the title of Master, I had set out on a journey to visit the worlds. Both out of a sense of duty as a Master, but also a sense of discovery. It was during my travels that I discovered a world hovering between the Realms of Light and Darkness. Archanea."
"Archanea?" Sora asks before looking at Kairi, who was equally confused at the name.
"Indeed. It is a unique world. Where people can turn into dragons, with the very gods themselves sentient dragons, it also has its own unique rules for those who visit and must abide by them. I myself was taken aback when I found myself confined to the laws of the world. My magic would not come forth, and my very Keyblade became a weapon of that world. Even my strength was shackled. Where it not for Naga, I would have not only been at a loss to adapt to this world, but also remained trapped in that world forever."
"Naga? Who is Naga?" Kairi asks, her head tilted and her hand on her chin.
"Naga is one of the gods of Archanea, a Divine Dragon, and my closest friend. She helped me find a way to leave the world, but only after I helped her with a dire threat, the rise of the Corrupt Earth Dragon, Madeus." Yen Sid returns his gaze to them, a sense of fondness in his eyes.
"He was the only one of his tribe of dragons to become a Manakete, a being who can switch between human form and dragon form at will with special stones. Naga tasked him to watch over his fallen tribe, who had all descended into madness due to their refusal to change. However, as he watched his fellow Manaketes fall to persecution by humans, he grew to hate them. This led him to form the Dolhr Empire, where he bided his time until the right moment. Eventually, blinded by his anger, he tried to conquer the world in retaliation for the cruelty towards his fellow Manaket's, but was stopped by a royal of the Archanea family, Anri, wielding a sword forged by Naga's fang. A blade of pure, holy light, Falchion."
Sora and Kairi stand in silence, engrossed in the story that their Master retails them. His past had been a mystery to them; not even Mickey, his closest apprentice, knew about his deep past.
"Twice again, he tried to conquer the world, only to fall at the hands of Anri's descended, the Hero King Marth, his wife Caeda, and his loyal followers. I was among those who thought beside him, back when I was in my prime, for I saw it as my duty to help stop the rise of Darkness where it may rise."
They wait as Yen Sid pauses in his tale, returning his gaze to the book he held before him before turning the page to reveal a picture. A young man in noble attire was standing next to a Keyblade Wielder, holding the Star Seeker Keyblade before it morphs into a sword, and before them hovered a demonic face, covered in shadows, save for the glow of six red eyes. The sight of it sent shivers down their spines, while Yen Sid's face became a scowl.
"What happened after that?" Sora asks.
"After Madeus's fall, years flew past as Naga worked to help me find a way home. For you see, Archanea is connected to a place known as the Outrealms. It is the only way to leave, but the worlds and realities it is connected to are so vast that it would have taken a thousand years or more for me to find my way home." They gasp at this remark. A thousand years to find the right way home?
"Thankfully, Naga did find the right portal for me to use, allowing me to return to this realm. However, it was not long before we met again. Naga, who was still young at this time, found our reality interesting. She would come to our home several times and bring tales and stories of her world's growth, the time of passage proceeding faster than our own. Until one fateful day, which caused her to take drastic action."
Sora and Kairi look at each other worryingly. What incident would cause a mighty Dive Dragon to do, whatever it was that Naga did?
"It was during the reign of the First Exalt of Ylisse, a descendant of the Hero King Marth who stopped Madeus. Back then, a Darkness rose from the depths to accomplish what Madeus could not, the same threat on the verge of returning. Grima, the Fallen Dragon."
The steel and anger in Yen Sid's voice at the mention of Grima takes Sora and Kairi back. Even when he talked about Xehanort, his voice remained calm and collected; to hear him like this was unexpected.
"Grima was once an alchemic creation, created by a mad Alchemist named Forneus. Born from the combination of many beings, including the very blood of a Divine Dragon and his own, Grima grew up in isolation. Even from an early age, he displayed acts of rampage and held terrifying power. Eventually, Forneus attempted to destroy his creation but failed. It was only by the work of a later Hero, Alm, the King of Valencia, along with his wife Celica and his loyal companions, that the creature was ended, but his spirit lived on."
"A thousand years later, Grima returned, presumably after forging a pact with someone, to plunge the world into Darkness, raising the dead to fight for him as his army. Naga attempted to stop Grima, but it was of no use. Due to sharing the blood of her tribe, Naga's power and his cancelled each other out. Neither could kill the other. And so Naga watched as Grima ravaged the land until she encountered a certain blue-haired man. The First Exalt. This young man called upon Naga to grant him the strength to defeat Grima. With the power of Falchion and the Binding Shield, also known as the Fire Emblem, Naga performed an Awakening on him, forging a pact with him, and branding his bloodline with her brand."
"However, it was not so simple. Grima's Darkness had become so vast; he began to bring in our foes on mass for the first time before Xehanort. The Heartless appeared swarmed over the world, even consuming Grima and his horde of corpses. However, instead of losing his heart, Grima gained control over them, becoming a threat even greater than Madeus ever was. Had I not been there to lend my help, he would have fallen to him. Followed by not only the world of Archanea but all the worlds." He turns his gaze towards the young couple, stern yet with a hint of sadness.
"It was because of this that Naga vanished her world into the Outrealms themselves, to be safe from the Heartless. For a thousand years has it been like this, but now, times are changing. With Grima's rise forthcoming, Keyblade Wielders are needed to help the descendents of Marth finish what his ancestors began all those years ago."
Sora and Kari could only stand in silence. A Great Evil sealed away for thousands of years whose return could spell doom for everyone. They share a glance, a silent conversation, before returning their gaze to Yen Sid.
"Now that you know the threat that comes, you have a choice to make."
"A choice?" Sora asks, surprised. Yen Sid has not asked of this before.
"Yes. For you see, if you accept this and travel to Archanea, there will be a very high chance you will not be able to return to our realm. The Outrealms are vast, and Grima's rise has given rise to a vast Darkness. Even with Naga's help, it may be impossible to return. I plan to give this same choice to the others when they arrive. All expect Mickey, Donald, and Goofy. I am sure you can understand why they cannot come."
They both nod sadly. Mickey is King of Disney Castle, with Donald and Goofy are his trusted friends and head of his Court and Knights. None of them can risk being trapped. They look at each other, a silent conversation speaks between them. Their eyes harden and narrow, their diction made.
"We will go," Sora speaks for them while Kairi nods. "We understand the risk, but we can't stand around while innocents are in danger. You have said it yourself; Grima is too big of a threat to ignore. It is a hard choice, but our hearts are telling us to go. After all, our hearts are our guiding keys." Yen Sid's eyes widen slightly at this. He has not said that phrase out loud at any point. He must have forgotten about Goofy's ears.
"In that case, you may leave immediately." He waves a hand before him as a parchment appears from a bluish-grey mist. "This note holds the location of the gate that leads to Archanea, as well some other information that may prove useful to you. I pray that you will arrive safely." Sora gently grabs the note before bowing with Kairi. They turn to leave Yen Sid but pause before leaving, turning to face him.
"Thank you for all that you have done to help us, Master Yen Sid. Wish us luck." Sora says with his iconic smile before opening the door. Yen Sid prepares another note to summon more of the others, watching them leave, deciding to send them in groups. He pauses before glancing at the door one final time.
"May your heart be your guiding Key, Sora, and Kairi."
The Gummi Ship sails through the Lanes-Between, its cartoonish shape quickly sailing past asteroids and hunks of metal. A custom job between the couple, it combined aspects of the Highwind-class and Falcon class with the main body Black with red details and pink wings. Looking around, Sora couldn't help but chuckle at how different the outside looked between his three journeys, from asteroids and hoops to wild and crazy mini-worlds to a vast space filled with mountains, volcanos, and metallic debris. Glancing at Kairi, he smiles at seeing her gaze out, her eyes wide with awe. This is the first time she could gaze out without a looming sense of dread, even with their upcoming mission and possible entrapment. Her first two times were under dire circumstances, fleeing from Hollow Bastion with a swarm of Heartless on them and travelling to the Keyblade Graveyard for the war, which kept her distracted from its beauty.
He glances forward to check their path, noticing how the debris ahead gets more clustered the further they go, the pathway barely visible between the rocks. Then, deftly tilting the Ship to fly through a gap, they finally reach the location of the gateway. They both gasp at what they see. Before them, glowing in lights of blue and white, with what seemed like lights of blue zooming from its centre, is the portal.
"Well, here we are. The portal Master Yen Sid directed us to. Are you ready, Kairi?" he turns to look at her as she does the same. Her face hardens before she nods.
"I am. Let's go." She replied with determination in her voice. Sora nods before pushing forward on the controls, steering the Ship into the glowing void. Exiting the portal, they arrive in the space of blue and purple, the colours mixing and clashing with each other in a deadly dance. Around them are several more portals, each one the same as they used to enter, with an uncountable number glowing around them like stars. A glance behind shows no evidence of the one they used to come here. Sighing heavily, Sora pushes forward to find the world.
What feels like hours pass as they continue to fly straight, passing more portals while scanning for the missing world. Eventually, they find it. Floating in the vastness of space is a vast palace connected to a city, with lush green hills and trees surrounding it; beneath it lays a desert, filled with the enormous remains of a giant Dragon. The world of Archanea.
"Alright, we're here. Let's get the transporter ready and head down," Sora says, looking at the world.
"What do you think our Keyblades will take forms of. I remember Master Yen Sid gave us a brief overview of what disciples people take to become warriors. He said he became a cavalier, a warrior on horseback, while his Keyblade became a spear." Kairi asks, gazing at their clothes. From what Yen Sid left for them in the notes, other than keeping their mission a secret until a point they could reveal it, was some brief notes about what, as he called them, 'class' they would take. From sword-wielding Mercenaries and Myrmidons to spear-wielding Knights and Cavaliers. Even Magic was its own form of discipline. So much for being able to use a weapon and magic at once.…
"I don't know, but we will find out when we arrive. Besides, that's where the fun will be at!" Sora chirps as he sets coordinates for the teleporter. Kairi shakes her head fondly before getting up. "Alright, teleporters ready. Let's head down and-" Before he could finish, a violent shock rips through the Gummi Ship. Alarms blare as a screen pops up, showing damage to the left engine and the wing as well.
"What happened!?" Kairi asks as another shock rips the Ship, tearing the front part as it begins to fall towards the world.
"I don't know! Whatever it is, the scanners aren't picking it up! We have to go now!" Sora yells as he stumbles to the centre of the room. Kairi quickly follows him as the teleporter hums to life. They can feel their clothes changing as a comfortable weight settles on their left hip. One final shock hits them, knocking them to the floor as the teleport activates and sends them down, just as a blast of fire engulfs the cockpit.
The sounds of birds chirping to the sky, along with the smell of grass, are the first things Sora registers as he slowly awakens. Then, opening his eyes, he awakens to see himself in a small field, with hills and trees surrounding the clearing. Rising slowly to his feet, he glances around, seeing smoke rising not far from him. But what grabs his eyes first is the familiar site of auburn hair resting in the grass.
"Kairi!" Sora cries as he stumbles his way to her, disoriented from the abruptness of the teleportation and impact upon the metal floor before it. Resting on one knee, he gently lifts her as she begins to stir, her eyes opening blearily.
"Sora..? Where..?" she asks groggily, a hand raising to rub the sleep from her eyes. Sora chuckles a bit while sighing. He shakes his head before giving her an easy smile.
"We seem to have landed in a field somewhere. Not sure where to be honest, didn't have a chance to scan the location for names…" he rubs sheepishly behind his head as he helps Kairi up. She glances around before letting out a small sigh.
"Well, at least we are not in the desert or the sea." She remarks before glancing at the rising smoke. "Do you think…" she asks while pointing at it. Sora follows her gaze and nods with a frown.
"Yeah, that is probably from what was our ship." He shakes his head. They put a lot of work into that and making it their own! He glances around before glancing at their attire. "Looks like our clothes have changed to reflect what our professions are in this world."
Sora's attire has changed to that of a Mercenary. His shirt and jacket have transformed into a long-sleeved black shirt with red highlights on his chest and arms. The shirt is open at the top while the collar reaches up to his chin. A small black shield with red lines on the outside hangs on his left shoulder while his hands are covered in black fingerless vambraces that reach his elbows. A blue belt wraps around his right shoulder down to his left waist, where a red scabbard hangs. Black slacks lie underneath black leather greaves with golden armour covering the front that reach up to his knees. His signature crown necklace hangs from his neck.
Kairi glances over herself, her clothes that of a Myrmidon. A white leather armour covers her chest with black shoulder straps, a black choker around her neck, while a black mini hood rises past her neck to the base of her hair. Pink sleeves that enlarge in size flow to her hands, ending in black fur around the exit fear her hands. A metal buckle in the shape of a Paopu Fruit rests on her left hip near a dark blue sheath; a black belt wrapped loosely around her waist. On her thighs is one black belt each, while her feet are encased in black leather boots that go halfway up her shins, ending in the same fur that's on her sleeves. A pink waistcloth hangs before her legs with black lines along its edges, reaching the top of her boots, while three similar lengths of cloth are tied together behind her. Her necklace hangs freely from her neck.
"Okay, I'll admit. These are not bad. Especially yours, Sora." She says with a cheeky grin, making him blush. She giggles at his shyness before glancing over the weapon on her hip. She grasps the handle gently before slowly pulling the blade from its sheath. The black handle remained as its grip, but the blade itself had changed into that of a small katana, elegantly curved and glowing in the colours of red and orange. Its new name echoes in her mind as she holds it in her hand. "Destiny's Katana. Guess that's what my Keyblade is now." She says, looking at Sora. "But it feels like some of its power is being held back…more than what Master Yen Sid said would be."
Sora glances at Kairi's blade before unsheathing his own. As with Kairi's, it retained the black handle, but the golden guard had been reduced from a square box to a single golden guard above the grip. The blade is long and silver, with an engraving of the crown embedded in the blade's centre. Grasping it in his hand, he could feel power locked away beneath its surface, unable to leave as its name calls out to him.
"Kingdom Blade. You're right, Kai; our weapons are not full strength. And I don't know about you, but I feel a lot more weaker as well…" he clenches his left hand, feeling the lack of strength he once had before coming here. Even his magic feels vastly reduced. Even though they had been warned, it still feels way more of a loss than expected. What is it with starting a new journey and losing all of his prior power? "Anyway, let's get going. We should hurry and find somewhere to rest and find out where we are." She nods in return before they sheath their weapons and walk in a random direction away from the rising smoke cloud. Unknown to them, a pair of eyes watch them leave, a crooked grin forming below it.
While they move through the forest and bushes, the couple gazes at the fauna and flora that adorns the bushes around them; birds fly idly between trees with small rocks lying between them. A couple of deer trot pass them while a bear nudges against a tree, possibly trying to get some hunny. Eventually, after pushing through a tall hedge, they find themselves along a dirt road. In the distance, they see what looked to be a small town.
"Looks like we found a place to stay the night." Sora chirps to Kairi, who happily nods. They move forward towards the town until they hear a rustling in the bushes around them. They stop, senses on alert as the rustling quiets. Gradually two figures appear before them, holding crude iron axes, while their backs are covered by what looked to be the skin of a bear, with a dragon skull on their heads. One of them looks at the, a glint in his eyes.
"Ello, you two. Fancy seeing you around here. Having a little stroll, are we?" The leader asks in a gruff voice as more start to appear around them, numbering around twenty. The couple stands back-to-back on edge. They were warned they would fight beings other than Heartless, Nobodies, and Unversed, but they didn't think it would be so soon. "Aw, now don't look so scared. We don't want to harm you. All we want is all your valuables, and you are free to go. And maybe a little bit more…" his grin turns sinister as he heft's his axe onto his shoulder, its design more streamlined and smaller than the others.
"Sorry, but we are going to have to refuse. Look, we don't want any trouble, so could you please move out of the way." Sora asks, even though he knows his request will be refused. The barbarians around him chuckle at his request while the leader just grins darkly. He changes the grip on his axe before throwing it at Sora. Reacting quickly, he angels his body so the axe bounces of the shield on his shoulder. The axe returns to its owner, a look of surprise on his face at the sudden deflection. Sora glances at Kairi behind him and nods before drawing his sword. He holds it in both hands as Kairi does the same, mirroring his pose. The men around them grumble; some swing their axes while waiting for their leader to give the order.
"So you want to play hard, ey? Well, we can do that. Get em boys!" he yells to the others, and they roar in agreement. Two of the brigands' charge at them axes raised. Kairi dashes forward and cuts across his chest twice in quick succession before he can blink, bringing him down. Sora doges the axe swing before bringing his blade down in one swing, ending the barbarian. They glance around them, seizing up the rest of them as they slowly spin, their backs stuck to each other like glue. The gravity of the situation builds upon them; without magic and the abilities of the Keyblade, all they have with them is their basic sword skills. Against the usually mindless and simple foes, no problem, but against living people is another challenge.
We can't last like this. Eventually, they will either overpower us through sheer numbers or catch us off guard. Sora thinks to himself as he struggles to see a way out, parring another axe strike before silencing his attacker with a single swing. He glances at Kairi, her blade swinging in quick succession to bring another foe down. One of the brigands armed with a spear charges at Kairi from behind while distracted, only to be blocked by Sora who rediertes his spear into the ground before being cut down by Kairi.
Suddenly, five of them charge at them simultaneously, forcing them to doge backwards to a cliff face rising along the road. While they managed to dodge some of the swings, two of the axe blades graze Kairi's leg and arm, while three leave small gashes on Sora's arm and chest. Panting heavily, the two back up to the cliff face, their weapons held low and eyes narrow.
"You two have spunk to have lasted this long. But it's over. Old Garrick will be happy with what we found today!" he boasts arrogantly until the sound of hooves impacting the ground distract him. Then, he turns to the source of the sound, followed by all present.
Coming down the road at a fast paste is an armoured warrior. The black mare horse is clade in glistening heavy armour of deep blue and silver, its eyes hard along with its rider. The rider is clade in equally heavy yet sleek blueish-silver armour, with shields the size of his head on his shoulders, white gauntlets and bluish silver greaves that reach up to his thighs. Smaller shields hang from his waits in colours of blue and silver. He is wielding a lance of silver in his right hand, along with a silver sword on his hip and an silver axe on his back. He charges at them with a fire in his brown eyes, brown hair smooth but for a turf atop his head.
"Pick a god and pray!" he yells as his horse suddenly jumps at them, landing amongst five of them, scattering them and slaying three as he moves in front of the couple, an iron wall to shield them. "More warriors from Pledgia, I presume?" he asks with a steel in his voice, his spear pointed at the leader of the pack. He growls at the knight, so close he was to having an easy steal.
"Bah, it is only a single knight; surround him and pull him off his horse. We can deal with the other two after we strip him of his armour." He barks orders out to the men. Just as they nod in approval, a ball of lightning streaks past and hits two of them, sending them sprawling across the ground. The leader turns around in a panic and sees two more warriors rushing at him.
One of them has dark blue hair and eyes, wearing a shirt with one arm missing a sleeve, with a teardrop emblem on his right shoulder. Twos white belts cross over his chest above his right lung. His left shoulder has a silver pauldron while a white and blue cape hangs from his shoulder, its lower edge torn and dirty. A white sheath with red edging hangs from his waist as he holds a two-handed longsword in his gloved hands. His trousers are the same colour of dark blue as his shirt, each with golden decals. His shoes are white, with two overcoats going up his legs up to his thighs. One is dark and fits to his leg, while the other is baggy and white. The sword in his hand has the same teardrop shape in its hilt, with the blade curved around it in gold as the silver blade shoots up. The handle is red with gold vines around it.
The other man has short white hair and brown eyes. He is wearing a dark purple overcoat with gold trimming and eye-like patterns on his sleeves in regal purple, the same colour on the interior of his jacket. Underneath is a plain white shirt, two brown belts holding up a dark purple waistcloth with gold trimmings that stretch to just above his knees, baggy plain pants, and slim dark boots that go up to his knees. He is holding a blade green-bluish sword with noticeable cracks, likely made of bronze, and a golden book with a lightning bolt on it, sparks of electricity spark across the open book.
"Blast, it's the Shepherds! Break for it, lads!" the leader cries as his men run for the trees, hastening to avoid contact with the armed men. Seeing the danger has past, the couple lean against the cliff wall before sliding down with weapons clattering next to them, their injuries and exhaustion catching up to them after the fierce melee.
"Lissa! We need healing here!" they hear a voice cry out in front of them. Soon, they feel a warm light wash over them, their injuries and exhaustion fading into the wind. They open their eyes to see their rescuers staring at them with relieved expressions, including a young woman holding a staff with a glowing crystal on its end, held up by golden wings. She is wearing a brown corset with a white mini apron with frills and brown fingerless gloves. Underneath is a yellow baggy robe that falls past her knees, with two brown belts on her arms above her elbows and two brown ropes circling the robe. A skirt cage can be seen through the gaps on the side, showing her shite slim pants and knee-high brown boots. Her eyes are green with long blond frilly hair tied into two pigtails on each side, wearing a white headdress with small circles flowing off on either side of her face.
"I am glad we arrived in time. We heard the sound of blades clashing and made haste to assist." The blue hair warriors spoke with relief in his voice; a sense of command and gentleness encompass his words. He reaches out a hand to Sora, who takes it as the white-haired man extends one to Kairi, who grabs it with a nod of thanks.
"Thank you for arriving when you did. For a moment there, I thought we were stuck." Sora nods in thanks before his brow furrows. "Um, if you don't mind me asking. Where are we?" The moment his question left his mouth, two of the men and the young woman broke out into chuckles and laughter as the knight held his head in his hand. The couple looked at each other in confusion. Had he said something funny?
"Forgive me. I shouldn't have done that." The blue-haired man says as his chuckling stops before motioning to the white-haired man. "It is just that our more recent friend had asked the very same question not too long ago." The young man in question rubs his head shyly as the young couple chuckle at the joke. "To answer your question, you are in the Halidom of Ylisse. About a day and a half march away from the capital of Ylisstol." Sora and Kairi glance at each other with relief in their eyes. They managed to land not far from where they intended to be!
"We are currently on our way there as it is. My name is Chrom; I am the leader of a group of warriors called the Shepherds. The delicate one next to me is my little sister, Lissa." He gestures to the blond, who looks at him with a pout. She thrusts both arms into the air before stomping on the ground like she was jogging on the spot.
"I already told you I am NOT delicate! Why do you think that of me?" she wines at him, causing him to laugh while patting her on the head, causing her to huff and cross her arms before he gestures to the knight.
"This is Frederick, the Wary. Our bodyguard and so-called for his unrelenting vigil." They glance over only to see the horse grazing on the grass while Frederick himself is busy clearing the road of pebbles and loose branches. He holds a tree branch in one hand before turning to view them, stoic and calm.
"As I said before, milord, it is a title I wear with pride. One has to be vigilant in these trying times." He calmly says as he tosses a branch into the thicket. Chrom shakes his head fondly before placing a hand on the white-haired man's shoulder.
"And this is Robin. Our newest friend with a talent for tactics." Robin smiles while rubbing the back of his head at the comment.
"I don't deserve much praise. All I did was just remember some knowledge at the right time." Chrom shakes his head before smiling again.
"You helped save Ylissian lives, and now you have saved two more. I'd say you have more talent than you give yourself." Robin smiles at the remark.
Sora and Kairi nod with a smile before extending their hands. "My name is Sora, and this is my girlfriend, Kairi." He introduces while shaking Chrom's hand. Kairi blushes but smiles before shaking Lissa's hand.
"It's nice to meet you. If you don't mind me asking Robin, but you have amnesia?" Kairi asks innocently. Robin's smile falls before nodding.
"Yes. I can not remember anything of my past. The only things that have returned to me are my knowledge of tactics and my name; the rest is a blank." He stares at his hands before clenching them, a sad look on Chrom and Lissa's faces. Kairi nods sympathetically at him.
"I know how you feel. I had amnesia too." Kairi's comment catches them off guard, Robin especially. So here was another person who had amnesia. Maybe they could help him find his way.
"I see. That sounds like an interesting story. Would you mind if you accompany us? The night is fast approaching, and it is dangerous to travel is such low a group these days." Chrom offers the couple. They glace at each other before nodding in acceptance, following the group as they make their way to the capital.
And that's that. I was planning on brining in the female robin as well, but i decided not to, since it probably wouldn't work out in the long run. If people want me too i can try and find a way to bring her in. As for having Sora and Kairi stranded, well, that's something i haven't really decided upon yet. DO i have them stay or go back? That is something I'll let you guys talk about.
One thing i should talk about is why I'm depowering Sora and co like this. My honest answer is that if i didn't, the story wouldn't really be that fun to write. It wouldn't be entertaining to read either. I'm sure it could have be done SOME way but I'm going like this. Also, it fun to write them up as Fire Emblem Units. Speaking of, the chapter after this one is a unique one that i think some people may like.
Until next Tuesday.
