Gordon had been heading outside for his usual swim when he'd heard Scott and John talking.

After all the events of yesterday he thought that he would sleep in late, especially with a sleep slightly disturbed by his squid sense still firing warnings at him, but he'd woken up only a little later than his usual time. So he'd got up for his swim, still being plagued by unease over something.

Now he knew what that was all about.

He left by the way he came. John was better placed to sort Scott out, and if Kayo was being comforted by their Grandmother then there was only one other person who need him.

Gordon let himself into Alan's room, grinning at the sight of the teen, flopped on his rug as usual, gaming glasses still stuck on his forehead. He shoved some bits off the bed and settled down to wait for the kid to wake up, pulling out the tablet he'd brought with him to watch. He didn't see anything of the classic episodes of Into The Unknown.

It was a long wait. The kid could almost rival Virgil for sleep, although Gordon couldn't really fault him, he was a teen after all, even if he didn't remember needing so much sleep when he was a teen…

Eventually Alan stirred and Gordon watched in amusement as it took Al a good ten minutes to wake up fully, and he hadn't even realised Gordon was sitting there.

'Al?'

He got immense satisfaction as Alan jumped a foot into the air with a yelp.

'Gordon!'

'That's my name, don't wear it out!'

'Wait – why are you here?'

'Gee, thanks Al.'

'Well?'

Gordon hadn't really thought about what he was going to say, and as Alan stood there, arms folded across his chest. He looked so much like Scott it was unreal. He gave himself a mental shake.

'John and Grandma are dealing with a little issue; Virgil is asleep and you and I are gonna go grab a late breakfast for everyone. How does that sound?'

'An issue?'

'Just some clearing up from yesterday's fun and games.'

Alan frowned at him, and Gordon was again struck with how similar Alan and Scott were. Not just in characteristics but also in mental agility. He was stunned into silence at Alan's next words.

'What's happened between Scott and Kayo?'

'Err…what?'

'Well, everything else was sorted out last night, so it must be them.'

He couldn't fault Alan's reasonings. So he got up and slung an arm around his brother's shoulders and led him down to the hangars.

'They'll sort themselves out, one way or another, Al. We can't do anything about that but we can feed everyone and help some kind of normalcy to return.'

Alan thought for a moment. He'd been so upset when Scott and Kayo had first told him of their relationship, but he'd soon come to realise that they were an amazing couple and that they really loved each other.

He hoped that love would get them through this, whatever it was.

By the time they had made it down to the hanger Virgil had already fired up Tracy Two and was waiting for them. They didn't need to know how he knew, and they settled for the flight over to the mainland and the Bauernfrühsrück that awaited them.

They might not have been able to help Scott and Kayo work through their problem but they could do what Tracys did best.

They could take care of them.
