Olivia hung her coat on the rack, the weight of the situation settling in. She had invited Seth, a relative stranger, into her home. It was out of character for her to be so trusting, especially in a situation like this. Her mind raced with thoughts of caution and wariness.

As she turned to face him in the hallway, she couldn't shake the feeling of vulnerability. Seth stood there, a reassuring presence, but still, he was practically a stranger. Yet, there was something about him that felt like a warm, familiar embrace. She couldn't quite put her finger on it.

It was an inexplicable connection that defied logic, but in that moment, it was enough for her to trust him.

"I'll need to call the towing service tomorrow to get my car sorted," she mentioned.

Seth offered her a reassuring smile. "Don't worry about it. I've already taken care of it. Called in a favor from a friend."

Olivia's heart swelled with gratitude. "Thank you, Seth. You've really gone above and beyond."

He smiled, the expression reaching his eyes. "It's no trouble at all. I'm just glad you're safe."

She made her way to the kitchen, gesturing for Seth to join her. "Would you like some chamomile tea? It's the least I can do."

Seth followed her."Chamomile sounds perfect, thank you."

As Olivia set about preparing the tea, she couldn't help but marvel at the way Seth seemed to fit into her life, even if it was just for a night. His presence was a comfort she hadn't anticipated, and for that, she was grateful. The sound of the kettle coming to a boil mingled with the soft patter of rain against the windows, creating a soothing backdrop to their impromptu tea time.

When the cups were ready, she handed one to Seth and they settled onto the couch in the living room, the warm, soft light casting a cozy glow over them.

The tea was a comfort, its warmth seeping into their bones.

The conversation flowed effortlessly as they shared stories from their childhoods, finding common ground in unexpected places.

Olivia found herself laughing at Seth's easy jokes, feeling a sense of ease that she hadn't anticipated.

Olivia's eyes sparkled with amusement as she recounted a high school field trip, her voice animated with the memory. "We were out in the woods, you know, for some ecology thing. And then, out of nowhere, in the distance wolves started howling. Those animals are terrifying, I was scared out of my wits! I barely slept a wink that night."

Seth's reaction was almost comical. He took a sip of his tea, but it went down the wrong way. He coughed, trying to regain his composure, hoping Olivia didn't notice. "Wow, that sounds... intense."

Olivia raised an eyebrow, a playful glint in her eye. "You alright there, Seth?"

He chuckled, a touch nervously. "Yeah, just went down the wrong pipe. That's all."

In that moment, Seth decided it was best to keep his supernatural secret hidden for a while longer. Some things were better revealed when trust was firmly established.

As the conversation flowed, the hours slipped away, and Seth checked the time. "Do you have a ride to work tomorrow?"

Olivia nodded. "Yeah, my colleague can pick me up. Why?"

Seth leaned forward, a warm smile on his face. "Give me your car keys. I'll make sure it's in the parking lot in front of your office by the time you get off."

Olivia's eyes widened in surprise and gratitude. "Oh, you really don't have to do that. But thank you. That's incredibly kind of you."

Seth smiled warmly. "It's no trouble at all. I'd be happy to help."

As they stood up from the couch, Olivia retrieved her car keys and handed them over to Seth. Their fingers brushed briefly, sending a tingle down both their spines. It was a small moment, but it held a promise of something more.

With a final exchange of thanks and goodbyes, Olivia watched Seth leave, a sense of contentment settling within her. She knew she was taking a chance, inviting him into her life, but there was something about Seth that felt right.

When the door closed, Olivia settled back on the couch, the warmth of the tea and the memory of the evening wrapping around her like a comforting embrace.

The following day, Seth found himself on early morning patrol. His eyes felt heavy from staying up late talking with Olivia the night before. He moved through the forest, his mind drifting more than it should, as he tried to shake off the sleep deprivation.

Jacob Black, who had been running alongside him, shot him an annoyed glance. "Seth, you're not focused today. What's going on with you?"

Seth waved off Jacob's concern. "I'm fine, Jake. Just had a long night, that's all."

Despite his tiredness, he managed to complete his patrol by 10 o'clock. It was then that he decided to text Olivia to check on her morning and get her work address. He wanted to make sure everything was in place for her car.

Heading to the garage, Seth had Embry join him, and they prepared to tow Olivia's car. It didn't take them long to discover that the problem was just a disconnected cable. They fixed it quickly, and by 2 in the afternoon, they were parked in front of the office where Olivia worked.

Seth gathered Olivia's car keys and headed inside, making his way to the front desk to inquire about her.

The receptionist, a young woman with a flirtatious air about her, raised an eyebrow as she examined him.

"Can I help you?" she purred, her hand lightly grazing his arm as she reached for the keys.

Seth shifted uncomfortably, doing his best to dodge her advances. "I'm looking for Olivia.

The assistant informed him that she was currently in a meeting.

Undeterred, Seth handed over the keys. "Could you make sure these get to her when she's available?"

The assistant took the keys, her gaze lingering on Seth. She leaned a bit closer, attempting a flirtatious touch on his arm. "So, how do you know Olivia?"

Seth's discomfort was palpable. He awkwardly side-stepped the advances. "We're friends. She needed some help with her car."

The assistant's tone turned suggestive as she tried to lean closer, her hand lightly grazing Seth's arm. "Well, aren't you a knight in shining armor?"

Seth's discomfort was evident, and he awkwardly pulled away, his instincts telling him that this interaction was veering into uncomfortable territory. "Just doing what anyone would do. Can you make sure these get to Olivia?"

She nodded, a knowing glint in her eyes. "Of course, if you're ever in the area again, don't hesitate to stop by."

Seth managed a polite nod before excusing himself. He couldn't help but feel a surge of relief as he stepped out of the office building.

The sooner he could leave the office and put this awkward encounter behind him, the better.

Texting Olivia to let her know that her car was safely at her disposal, Seth decided to head over to Sue's place. He knew she could use a hand with something, and the distraction would be a welcome change of pace.

At Sue's, Seth found himself knee-deep in a home improvement project, the steady rhythm of work a comforting contrast to the whirlwind of emotions from the past 24 hours. As the day drew to a close, he couldn't help but feel grateful for the unexpected turn of events that had brought him closer to Olivia.
