"Alright, just heads up. Weiss, going from the first volume, it really doesn't capture your best moments."
Weiss raised an eyebrow, before widening her eyes in realization. Weiss groaned and her friends sent her sympathetic looks.
-Volume Intro-
"I didn't realize the last thing we watched would be the intro," Ruby exclaimed.
The episode continues where they left off. Airships proceed to land on their docks near Beacon.
Right as the door opens, Jaunes runs out to find the nearest trash can to throw up in.
"That is amazing will power Jaune." Said boy looked confused. "Well, considering how far away from land you were, you really had to hold that in, massive respect bud."
Yang and Ruby make their way off the ship and begin to marvel at the sight before them. "The view from Vale's got nothing on this." Yangs says, crossing her arms in the process.
Ruby becomes 2-D and geeks over everyone's weapons, Yang just looks at her sister weirdly. "Oh, sis! That kids got a collapsible staff, and she's got a fire sword!" Ruby starts drifting away, Yang being the one having to reel her back into reality by her hood.
"Easy there little sister, they're just weapons." Ruby took this as an offense, "Just weapons? They're an extension of ourselves, they're a part of us! Oh, they're so cool."
Changes to only show Yang, "Well, why can't you swoon over your own weapon, are you happy with it?" The sound of metal is heard before going back to Ruby. "Of course I'm happy with Crescent Rose, I just really like seeing new ones. It's like meeting new people, but better."
"Ruby, did you have any bad experiences to make you think that way?" Raider asked.
Ruby's family became defensive, thinking some sort of incident with someone happened. Ruby didn't answer and went over and stole the remote from Raider's chair. "Hey!"
"Ruby, come one. Why don't you try and go make some friends of your own?" Yang says, grabbing Ruby's hood and pulling it down over her sister's head.
"But why would I need friends when I have you?" She says, correcting her hood.
Summer and Tai smiled warmly at their two girls, Raven just scoffed and rolled her eyes.
"Well, actually my friends are here now, gotta go catch up. Kay see you bye!"
"Wait, where are you going?"
Yang and four others run off. Yang zooms past Ruby, causing her to spin around, leaving her dizzy. Yang and her friends only get farther and farther away.
"Wait, aren't we supposed to go to our dorms?" Ruby yells after to Yang. "Where are our dorms? Do we have dorms? I don't know what I'm doing." Ruby continues to back up, until she trips over a luggage cart, falling to the ground with the suitcases flying everywhere.
Raider snaps her finger and points at the Schnee in the front, "Cue Weiss Schnee!"
The camera zooms back, showing a white shoe. "What are you doing!?" Comes Weiss's voice.
Ruby raises her head, and faces the girl, "Sorry." Weiss just yells out at her in outrage, "'Sorry'!? Do you have any idea of the damage you could have caused?"
Weiss could only wince at her past self. She tried to shrink herself as much as possible, wanting to avoid the gazes of her family and others. She could only imagine how disappointed her sister must be of her right now.
Jacque saw absolutely no problem with this behavior. She deserved what's coming to her.
Winter could only be disappointed in herself. She left Weiss with her 'father' and this is how she turned out because of it. Willow of the kind of mother she was to her children, she stood aside as she watched her family be transformed into mini versions of their father.
Man, that family is more broken than a shattered mirror.
Ruby hands Weiss one of the suitcases, but she just rudely takes it from her hands. "Give me that! This is dust, mined and purified from the Schnee Quarry. What are you, braindead? Dust! Fire, water, lightning, energy!" Weiss shakes around the dust casple that isn't fully closed.
Ruby proceeds to inhale the dust through both her mouth and nose. "Are you even listening? Is any of this sinking in?"
"She would be paying more attention if she wasn't inhaling fire dust!" Qrow yelled, only causing the girl to sink deeper in her seat. Now seeing that also played a vital part in the cause of the explosion. More so than Ruby did.
"I'm really sorry Ruby, I-" Ruby only cut her off. "It's fine Weiss, this is all in the past. And, you're getting better. Just small steps at a time."
Weiss could do nothing more than send her leader a grateful smile. In all honesty, Weiss thought she shouldn't deserve Ruby's forgiveness.
"What do you have to say for yourself?" That dust was the last straw as Ruby let out an enormous sneeze. Causing a massive explosion with fire, ice and a little bit of lightning.
The dust casple flew in the air and bounced over to Blake's feet. She picked up the capsule while reading her book. She turned the capsule to see a snowflake. Turning to face the sound of Weiss screaming at Ruby.
"Unbelievable!" Weiss is covered in soot everywhere. "This is exactly the kind of thing I was talking about." Ruby is standing in front of her silent, twiddling her index fingers together. "I'm really, really sorry!"
"You complete dolt!"
Raider is holding her phone before bursting out laughing. All faces turn to her and she calms herself down. "Sorry, I just looked up the word and laughed at how there was just a straightforward answer to it. There was only one definition. Continuing."
"What're you even doing here? Aren't you a little young to be attending Beacon?"
"And aren't you a little too old to be treating this situation like a child?" Surprisingly, this comment came from Raven.
"That is enough! I'm sure Weiss realizes and sees her mistakes from the past! But that doesn't mean she has to be ridiculed now in the present when she hasn't done anything wrong!"
"Of course, you of all people would defend her. Seems to be expected from the Schnee's sister." Winter didn't try to hide her irritation at the women, she just continued to glare daggers at her. Sharp, cold daggers.
"People make mistakes, it's whether they put the effort to right them or not. And Weiss right now is living proof that she's correcting them. By growing and becoming a better version of herself."
Raider gave pause before turning to Raven, "It's more improvement then you've ever made."
"Well, I-uh I…" Ruby looks down nervously, and Weiss only continues berating her. "This isn't your ordinary combat school. It's not just sparring and practice you know. We're here to fight monsters, so watch where you're going!"
It was then Ruby began to stand up for herself and talk back. "Hey, I said I was sorry Princess!"
It was then, Blake joined the argument between the two. "It's heiress actually. Weiss Schnee, heiress to the Schnee Dust Company. One of the largest producers for energy propellant in the world."
"Kinda a little scary how she knows all that on a whim."
"Gotta agree, that is a little creepy Blakey." Yang says, looking towards her partner. She just rolled her eyes affectionately, "Sure, might be disturbing for some, but Weiss didn't see it that way when I told her that."
"Finally, some recognition-" Weiss continued, but Blake wasn't quite finished yet. "The same company, infamous for its controversial labor forces and questionable business partners."
The room was silent as some of the adults stared at the girl, her parents included. Two people didn't even try to hold in their laughter. "There's the fiery spirit, My Love."
That name gave Ghira and Kali pause. " Love?"
Kali asked with a horrified expression, "Blake, you and him are dating?" Ghira was hoping to the Brothers above that isn't the case.
Yang felt a sudden pang of sadness she couldn't quite place, but tried to ignore it.
"Well of cour-"
"No-!"
Both of them were cut off by Raider. "'Adam is Blake's previous partner from the White Fang. They were stated to have a mentor-apprentice relationship, and Adam was also referred to as Blake's 'Crazy, abusive Ex-Boyfriend'. So, all in all, I don't think the two have ever dated."
Adam sent daggers in Raider's direction, but she just ignored and turned to the relieved Belladonna's, and Yang, who didn't understand why she felt like a weight has been lifted off her shoulders.
"Besides, I'm gonna make sure my ships are canon, here, well some of them, by the time we're done. Now, we have to get back to the episode."
"Wha-! How dare-! The nerve…!" Weiss snatches the capsule and storms off in a huff. Ruby calls after her, trying to deflate the situation, "I promise I'll make this up to you!" Weiss doesn't turn around and continues her stride.
"I guess I'm not the only one having a rough first day."
"All people will have rough first days Ruby, it's inevitable." Pyrrha says, trying to comfort her friend.
Ruby bounces back, "So what's…" But trails off when she sees Blake walking away.
"I'm sorry Ruby." The girl only waved her faunus friend off, "Don't worry about it, I'm sure you had places to be anyways."
Ruby drops to her knees and just lies on her back, "Welcome to Beacon." Closing her eyes before she is met with a shadow.
She looks up to see Jaune, lending out his hand for Ruby to take. "Hey, I'm Jaune."
"The start of a brand new friendship!"
I'm glad Ruby had Jaune to help her get her through her first day at Beacon. Both of Ruby's parents thought, the two also silently thanking the blonde boy.
Ruby gratefully takes his hand, "Ruby." She then gives a snort before asking, "Aren't you the guy that threw up on the ship?"
Scene: The two are walking side by side down a stone path. "All I'm saying is that motion sickness is a much more common problem than people let on."
"Look, I'm sorry, Vomit-Boy was the first thing that came to mind." Jaune just scoffed, "Oh yeah? Well, what if I called you Crater-Face."
"Hey! That explosion was an accident!"
"And so was Jaune puking on the ship. You really have no right to complain." Ruby nervously rubbed her neck.
"Well, the name's Jaune Arc, short, sweet, rolls off the tongue. Ladies love it."
All the women in the room turn to Jaune. Said boy was trying to avoid all of their gazes.
"Do they?"
"Asking the question that we were all thinking about."
"They will, well, I hope they will. I mean, my mom always says that… nevermind." He waves his hand towards Ruby, dropping the subject.
"Sooo, I got this thing," Ruby says, pulling out Crescent Rose.
Jaune jumps back in surprise, "Woah! Is that a scythe?"
"It's also a customizable high impact sniper rifle." Juane blanks and Ruby tries again. "It's also a gun." Jaune lets out a noise of understanding. "That's cool!"
Ruby asks excitedly, "So what do you got?"
"I got this sword." Ruby looks at it with amazement, "Yeah, I got a shield too."
"So what do they do?" Ruby asks as Jaune retracts his shield, but just drops it. "The shield gets smaller, so when I get tired of carrying it… I can just put it away."
"But wouldn't it weigh the same?" Jaune just nods and confirms it disappointingly.
"Well, I'm kinda a dork when it comes to weapons, I guess I did go a little overboard designing it." This gives Jaune pause, "Wait, you made that?"
"Of course! All students at Signal forge their own weapons. Didn't you make yours?" Jaune takes a look at the sword before answering, "It's a hand-me-down. My Great-great grandfather used it to fight in the war."
"Well hey!" Jaune looks towards Raider. "That would just make yours more special than others, giving it more value considering its history."
"She's right Jaune, you can't sell your weapon short just because of its appearance." Pyrrha says, making Jaune give her a comforting smile. The action caused the red head to blush.
"Sounds more like a family heirloom to me. Well I like it! Not many people have an appreciation for the classics these days." Ruby says, trying to reassure the boy. It has the desired effect when Jaune lets out a small chuckle. "Yeah, the classics."
Changing the subject, Ruby asked Jaune. "So, why'd you help me out back there, in the courtyard."
"Eh, why not. My mom always says, strangers are just friends you haven't met yet."Ruby then asked Jaune the big question, "Hey, where are we going?" Jaune shrugged, "Oh I don't know, I was following you."
The screen starts to fade.
"You think there might be a directory, maybe a food court? Some sort of recognizable landmark?"
Ruby just continues to snort as Jaune keeps the questions going.
"Is that a 'no'?"
Ruby answers plain and simple, "That's a no."
*End Credits*
"Alright, anything to say before we move on to the next episode? If you need to go to the bathroom, do it now."
With that said, everyone began to do their business before returning to their respective seats. Raider being able to start the next episode.
