Cinderella
Daisy's real name was Dominique Amelie Isolde Suzette Yvonne Martine.
Her beautiful mother could not decide which name to give her from her list of favorites, so decided to use them all. Her father, much to her mother's dismay, gave her the nickname of Daisy when she still in the cradle. The moniker stuck and much to her mother's chagrin, everyone called her Daisy Martine.
Daisy was a pleasant happy child, the spitting image of her mother and the apple of her father's eye. She toddled around but was surrounded by so much love, never fell without loving hands catching her. She never was the recipient of an unkind word or a hand raised to strike in anger.
As she grew and matured, a governess was brought in to teach her. The governess was enchanted with her charge and as proud of Daisy's accomplishments as her parents.
One day, after her classes, Daisy found her mother resting in her bed. She crawled upon the enormous bed and into her mother's arms.
"Mother, are you tired?"
"Yes, my sweet."
"Oh. I'm sorry to have disturbed you."
"I'm not. Tell me about your day."
Daisy cuddled into her mother's arms and chatted while her mother stroked her hair. The next day, her mother was still abed. Daisy crawled into her arms again and told her about her day. This continued until the leaves began to fall and when the snow coated the land. Daisy worried because her mother's coal black hair turned snowy white and her skin became more and more pale. Daisy watched her mother slowly disappear against the snowy white sheets until she disappeared completely.
Black cloths covered all of the mirrors. The shutters remained closed. Daisy's father was inconsolable and she was lost without her mother's love.
