A/N Not much to put out there before starting this one. I do want to make a couple things clear though. Harry is strong. Very strong. That doesn't mean he can do anything. He has focused heavily on battle magic to survive a war instead of hoping that a disarming spell will beat a killing curse. I know how the story really goes, but that always made me go "wait, what?" seemed like a bit of a cop out to me. Anyways, The relationship will be a bit more opened up in this one. Yes they share a room, but lets face it, they dont sleep, they dont have to use the restroom, and anyone who was watched or read twilight knows Alice's closet is big enough to be its own bedroom, so modesty, whatever they choose to employ is easily obtained. I would assume they shower or take a bath, but not for the same reasons we would. Its pointed out in book 1 by Edward saying that even his smell is designed to lure her in. That tells me that either A they dont sweat, or B if they do, its no where near the same composition as a basic humans. Take your pick, because I am not going to go that in depth in this story.

You'll also note that this chapter is very Harry Alice centric. That will happen a good bit in this story but by far not the only view. I also want to point out that the type and amount of grief harry would be going through, would not be something that is overcome quickly. By the end of this chapter though, you can simply assume that he is, for the most, past it. Hell acknowledge it occasionally, or something may happen, but pls enjoy. Chapter 3 though is where canon and au start mixing a good bit more. I have a few surprises.

Chapter 2

It had been a couple months and the summer holidays were coming to an end. A lot of things had happened in the short time frame. Firstly had been Harry emptying his trunk. That wouldn't have been bad, except that he had a 5 compartment trunk that had a huge amount of storage in each. The first one was clothes. Harry had saved one of his better Hogwarts uniforms for memory sake, and gotten rid of the rest, vanishing them. The second compartment had been everything he would need for making potions. Unfortunately, all the ingredients had spoiled, spilled and such. He had figured it had something to do with traveling between worlds. That had also vanished quickly, followed by several overpowered air freshening charms.

Idly, Harry made a note to see if he could supplement some non-magical plants for other ingredients into potions. He remembered there were already quite a few, but potions had never truly interested him, knowing only what he had needed to know to make the basics quickly. It was obviously something he wouldn't be able to do for a while and a long term project at that. It also had no promise of actually working.

Moving to the 3rd compartment had been Harry's library. That had stopped him for a moment remembering how Hermione had broken the copyright charms and made sure Harry had a copy of every single book she could find, from magical to mundane. If it might help him in some way form or fashion, he had a copy. He had been lost in his grief for a bit there. It was a slow process that the whole family had been helping him with. Alice had obviously been the best there, many times just stopping what they were doing, and dragging him somewhere for a cuddle, a hug, or just holding him until he was ready to continue.

After coming back to himself it was put to the side till a library could be added on. Something Esme had thought of doing for a long time, but with the constant moving and not truly having that many books in the house, at least not the thousands that Harry had, they had never added one anywhere. It was decided they would have a hidden room off to the side that Harry would also ward for the magical portion to keep others from asking questions. Even then there would be a restricted section in there that only Harry himself would be able to go to because of the protections on some of the books. The two family grimoires he had were very good examples. The Blacks and Potters Grimoires had been some of the oldest and even Harry didn't know all that was in there.

The 4th compartment only had 4 bags in them. Each was the size of about of Emmett's fist.

Flashback Start

"So Harry, what's in those bags?" Alice, staring at them, was more than a bit curious. She'd been hearing about all the amazing things that magic could do, "Well, these are bottomless pouches…" seeing her eyes light up, he hurried on knowing what she want to use them for. "But… they are keyed to money, particularly a certain wizard currency each. On for Galleons" holding up one of each coin, "one for sickles, and one for knuts. The 4th bag is a trade bag, also bottomless but is keyed to precious stones." He followed this with holding up a few gems, emeralds, rubies, topazes and a few others. All rather small themselves, but also assuring her there were larger ones.

"I could enchant your purse or a bag of some kind to have an undetectable extension, but, well due to having to train so hard for combat and such, I'll have to look it up. I promise I will though." He smiled at her with a cheeky smile, something he had seen Sirius do a few times before he died at the Ministry, and he had been told his father did also on a regular basis.

Flashback end

They had agreed that he would have to hold onto them for now, till they could figure out a safe and secure way to melt them down and bar them each. But it would be a good fall back currency if they ever needed it. The final compartment was a stairway that had let down. In it Alice saw all sorts of armor, weapons, and shields. In the center of the back she saw two crests. One looking like a lion with swords crossed behind it on what looked like a classical knight shield. There was latin below it that read, Audacis it victoria. "To the bold goes victory, roughly translated" he had said. She could also see Potter above the crest.

Next to it was another shield, with a red rose in the center, to the bottom left and top right where two stars, one in each area, and in the other two corners were chalices. Below it was Al, vias pura. Above it said Black. "Always pure, personally I like to think the intent was pure of heart, but you never know." He then went to the back and stood in front of a suit of armor that was as black as midnight. It was full plate in its style, covering head to toe with accents of emerald green. It had a cloak around the shoulders that appeared to just absorb light.

Harry had explained that although it was his personal armor, being a basilisk hide made it too heavy to move around in. Though he imagined now it wouldn't be a problem. Off to the side she could see what appeared to be more hide, but there was also a bowl that seemed to glow. Explaining a pensieve as a bowl that allowed people to review memories as a group or individually was exciting in its own way. She had made him promise to show them some of his 'adventures' as he put it.

Of course other things had happened. Carlisle had brought forth a vial of human blood from his work at the hospital and had Harry smell it. Due to his occlumency, Harry maintained positive control of himself. That brought forth group outings, and desensitization to humans in general. This had led to an issue where Harry had nearly attacked some idiots that had tried to grab Alice, but luckily Alice had seen it and moved him back quickly while Edward and Emmett had handled the issue. They were much more practiced in controlling their strength.

Harry and Alice had officially started courting, as Harry had called it. He took her for walks through the woods, dates into town eventually. And of course they went clothes shopping for him. She had also taught him to drive, and he had taken her flying on his broomstick that had been in his trunk. Though it wasn't as fast as they could run, she did enjoy the freedom of flight. Edward had helped him when he wanted to learn to dance, as there was a doctor's ball coming up and he wanted to escort Alice there.

They also took the time to help him catch up on what would be expected of him in highschool as he hadn't really had a mundane education since he was 11. Thanks to his greatly improved memory augmented by his occlumency, he started tearing through the information at a rate that even Edward was jealous of. To Harry, the hardest part was grasping the core concepts, but after that, it was all logical steps connecting a to b to c and so forth. Harry even started giving each of them short lessons on Occlumency.

Flashback start

Standing in front of the gathered Cullins, Harry lectured. "Occlumency is very much a practice of mental will. Combining the art of meditation to reach a state of calm and near peace, with the organization of one's memories is the very first step. By organizing your memories though, you have to relive each one, whether good or bad, recognize it for what it is, a part of you. Ask yourself, what am I seeing, why did I do what I did, what was I feeling, why was I feeling it, how do I feel now. Acknowledge and accept these emotions and then put it in the proper place. I initially used trunks, or as you know it, a storage box. It can truly be what you want, but to start with, you will want to start simple. Emotions are not wrong, they are not evil, they are a part of who and what you are, and to be at peace with who you are, you must accept your past."

"Each of us, including me, have things they are not proud of, however, the importance is not just what you did, but how you will work to ensure it doesn't happen again. Learn from your history and be better today than you were then, be better tomorrow than you are today. Finally, only you can decide if you are better." He instructed them on how to relax, the focus of breathing, even if they did not need to breath, helped. Edward obviously had the hardest time due to his gift.

After a couple of hours, Harry had them stop and pulled Edward to the side. "You're having trouble." It wasn't a question, but a simple statement of fact. "Harry, I am constantly hearing everyone's thoughts, impressions of what they are thinking of. It is very… distracting." Sighing, Edward looked away. "Then don't ignore them. Let them come, let them flow. Meditation isn't about finding peace when the world is calm. It's about being calm and collected when the world is in turmoil around you." Grinning impishly at him, he simply stared for a moment. "Star wars, really Harry?" "If it works, it works." With a shrug, he walked off.

Flashback End

They had all made progress, but going through decades, even centuries in Carlisle's case, was never going to be a fast process. It took him at 14 nearly 6 months to through his. And he truly felt sorry for Alice at times during what became family meditation time. Not that they couldn't meditate on their own, Edward certainly did. But Alice didn't have just memories, she had memories of events that never happened because someone changed their mind. She still had to deal with them.

His hope was that with at least a sorted mind, they would have a clearer and more focused mind. However, though there wasn't any documentation one way or another, he hoped that they could learn to build shields. It wouldn't be known till they sorted memories and then started building walls or shields. However, if it was as he assumed, a strong act of will, and not a product of magic. Well then, that opened up other possibilities too, didn't it.

His and Alice's physical relationship had also advanced. They could be found occasionally making out, clothes did stay on of course. Neither wanted to rush things, partly because Harry was still grieving for what was lost, and it did haunt him occasionally. He was making progress and spent time going through his memories of the war and particularly of the final battle. Alice though loved the idea of being courted. She was already planning the wedding in her head. She truly wanted one. To her it was just another way of saying she was his, and he was hers. To him though, it was also a magical vow that would reinforce what he was feeling already, and what it would grow to.

They had finally come to the idea that Harry's magic would simply be talked about with others as energy manipulation. He would also hold back from some of the more spectacular showings, such as conjuration, at least, in the eye of other covens. However, he pointed out that if the family was in danger, or someone was stupid enough to actually try to hurt Alice, all bets were off, and they would learn real quick why he became one of the only two men in existence that Voldemort, as powerful as he was, feared.

Harry's actual vampire gift hadn't shown itself yet, but no one was too surprised by that. It could be situational, emotional or other things and sometimes might not appear till after years or decades. Even then, it could take a long time to truly learn to control. With everything going on, it was agreed that he had enough on his plate. For once, Harry truly did agree that he did not need to rush things.

The night before they where to go back to school, where they had already enrolled Harry as a Junior along with Alice and Edward, with Rosalie and Emmet being senior's, was another tradition among the Cullen clan. The males would go off and do their thing, usually hunting large predators, while the women would stay at the house having hunted the night before. Of course, Harry had gone off with Alice the night before so he was only along for the fun. Esme still cooed every time she saw them do something coupleish. She had always worried over Alice and Edward. Alice had seemed to have taken having no mate harder though, most likely because one who could have been a mate left.

"So Alice, be honest, how is it?" Rosalie said from the couch she was sitting on. She had always seen Alice as the bubbly girl she was, but many times it had seemed forced. She never really said anything, but she did care in her own way. "It's amazing. Really. He's kind and considerate, and the stories he can tell are breathtaking. I really feel happy being near him." Esme and Rosalie smiled at that, though Esme got a bit of a mischievous look on her face.

"So, are you planning anything?" She had seen a bit of Alice's search history. "Nothing special that I know of." Rose chimed in at this point, catching on. If Harry was as old fashioned as he seemed to be at times, she had a very good idea of what was going to happen. "Really Alice? So this upcoming year has no real plans, no events? Hmmm maybe Emmett and I should just go on a year round world tour and come back some time…..HEY!" She deftly knocked the pillow to the side that came flying her way. Alice was scowling at her, though there was no real heat in it, "Yes there are plans, I just haven't put much thought into it yet. And if you decide to leave, I may have to find someone else to be my maid of honor when it comes time." She showed her maturity when she stuck out her tongue.

The ladies night continued on from there, talking about dresses, flowers, vows, and more. It was truly one of the best girls nights the girls had had in a while. After a while Esme brought them back down a bit. "Alice, Rosalie, in all seriousness, watch out for him tomorrow. I want someone with him at all times. I know he has amazing self control, but if it looks like he is going to lose it, someone gets him out of there. We can come up with something later, or just leave." Rosalie frowned a bit at the last part but nodded. She had agreed he was good to go to school, but it was still a risk. All of them were a risk to some degree, which is why they fed so close to the start.

Alice was looking at the wall, but seemed to be seeing things that weren't there. They both understood she was checking tomorrow. "No close calls that I can See, but it's still a good precaution. Perhaps I should ask him for one of his portkey thingies so if it does get bad, I can just grab him, drag him somewhere and activate it. Then we'll be here." Both nodded along. They had seen him use a portkey, and even taken one to get to Seattle one day. It wasn't the most pleasant of sensations, but it definitely was fast. Conversation drifted to other topics from there.

Edward had just taken down a mountain line, he was the last that had needed to feed. "Edwarad, Emmett, Harry, please come sit down with me." They all moved over to Carlisle and saw he had knocked down and moved a few larger trees to them to be used. Clearing his throat, he saw he had all of their attention. "Nothing to worry about , just going over the normal stuff that I do every year." Seeing Emmett chuckle, Edward nod and Harry paying attention, he continued on.

"The biggest thing is to not draw too much attention to yourselves. Act like students, albeit rather intelligent ones. Keep visible differences such as extreme strength, speed, and such hidden. That is very important. The only other thing though, and this is the most important part, Harry, if you feel like you are losing control or can't maintain control, get out of the school and come home as quickly as you can." All three nodded at this. It was, in all honesty, Harry's biggest worry. He had good control and focus with his occlumency, but there was the fact that it could still happen.

Talk went from there for a bit, hitting various topics to how the teenage girls and guys would react. Harry also made sure to ask how Alice would react if one of these girls got too close. "It depends, Rosalie has no problem making her claim in public, though I think Alice will probably just stay close most of the time. You two will have a lot of classes together, you can thank Edward there." Emmett said, trying not to laugh too much. He realized his new brother didn't have much experience when it came to girls and wasn't sure how to act with others who would most likely be more physical than he was used to.

The stories started flowing from there, Emmett telling of a time he and Rosalie had nearly been expelled a couple of decades ago from some school in Canada. Edward of being on a sports team and how he really didn't suggest it. The act of having to pretend to be breathing the whole time while he played had been annoying to say the least. Harry told of his 1st time playing quidditch, and how he nearly swallowed the snitch. They enjoyed the time and enjoyed the stories.

Soon the sun was coming up and it was time to get ready for the day.

They were all piled in two cars. Rosalie and Emmett were with Edward in his Volvo, while Harry and Alice were in her mustang. Both were amazing cars and, after finding out Rosalie knew an amazing amount about cars and how to modify them, like the others in the family, decided he would have to learn himself. He could definitely agree, they went fast, and he did like the speeds that they could reach. Pulling up to the school and finding a couple of spots next to each other was nice. What was annoying was seeing all the other students staring at the cars and then at them as they walked in. Seriously, he felt like a damn runway model with the way they entered.

He had no idea what he was expecting, but this was definitely not it. In one class,he was required to introduce himself along with Alice, since the Cullens were the only new students in the school area. That had hit him a bit, in a good way. He was starting to think of himself as a Cullen. Though for appearances sake he kept his birth name. It wasn't like they could link him to anyone and Carlisle had called someone business man they did work with and had papers for Harry less than a week later.

Deciding to take a page out of his father's and godfather's book and make a bit of a production of it, he walked up to the front. Standing tall, and then taking a half step forward and sweeping his hand in front of him stopping it at his stomach, elbow at a 90 degree angle, he bowed from the waist slightly and after standing straight, "Hello, my name is Haydrian James Cullen Potter-Black. For those unaware, Potter is my birth name, Black was the name of my godfather and as such his name was added to mine to signify the relationship. Cullen is obviously my adopted name. I hope to become friends with many of you. Thank you for your time." Smiling his most charming smile, he stood beside Alice and offered her a hand.

She had taken and performed a very nice curtsy, "Alice Cullen, charmed to meet you all. Like Haydrian said, I hope to become friends with many of you, although I should mention, just so there are no mistakes made, Haydrian and I are betrothed. It was set up by his godfather before his untimely death, and before my adoption into the Cullen family." She smiled her sweet pixie smile but the intent was clear, ladies, stay away from my man. It was something they had discussed on the car ride over to school and decided that since their bond was so new, and they did not want accidents to happen, that it was best to put this out there for others to understand. Alice had thought this might happen and had her papers when Carlisle had gone to get Harry's, modified.

The contract did actually exist, but it was written in so much legalese and held the proper amount of power as a fly did. But it did keep questions from being asked. "Any questions for the two?" the teacher had decided to put forth. It was obvious he wanted to ask a few himself but at least kept some professionalism. That wasn't to say the students couldn't and hopefully would, ask. Several hands were raised. "Yeah, names Jessica. Um, what do you mean Betrothed, is that like an engagement? Aren't you too young for that? And isn't the fact that you're both legally Cullens now means you can't get married? Your siblings, aren't you?" There it all was, just as they thought it would happen. Apparently, this was the school gossip queen. Harry immediately thought of Lavender Brown and looked out the window for a moment.

"You'll have to forgive Harry. What brought him to forks, and to the Cullen family, was a brutal terrorist attack. Sadly, most of his friends didn't survive." Letting that sink in right there, which was also a way to keep people from asking about his, and by extension hers, past. People would assume they were both survivors. "To answer your questions though, Betrothed is an official agreement between two families that states that a son of one and a daughter of another will marry. It doesn't have any real legal standing anymore, but there are several families across the world that do practice it. Harry's godfather wanted to ensure that should the worse happen, he would be matched with a proper lady as befitted his family history. Same for me. And because we are adopted, we are allowed to marry. There's no incest or anything like that. So while we may be, by technicality of law, adoptive siblings, we are not related by blood." At this point she guided Harry back to his chair beside her and they sat quietly.

Lunch time saw the rumors circulating and a quick and quiet explanation to the others had them chuckling at what they had done. Harry quietly vanished food from all of their trays as the meal went on. And soon enough, they were back in classes. The day went slowly on from there. There weren't really any introductions, but they had been pulled into the principal's office. He basically told them that although they may be betrothed, he would not have any extreme shows of public affection. He expected them to act appropriately. Harry had assured him that he wouldn't demean Alice by treating her as anything less than the lady that she was. Adding a small compulsion also had the principal by the end smiling and agreeing, along with apologizing for calling them there, but that he would most likely get some calls from parents and needed to make sure he could tell them it was already addressed.

Alice pointed out that she just wanted to make sure there weren't any mistakes or misunderstandings between her and any of the lady's of the school, and put the information out there so no one was shocked. It also, she claimed, would stop rumors. And so school ended eventually and they all went home.

Esme had called Harry and Alice into the kitchen as soon as they got there. They knew this was going to happen but Alice really didn't want to deal with teenage girls throwing herself on Harry. Looking at them, she wasn't really mad, just upset that they hadn't said anything beforehand. Oh she knew they could take care of themselves, but Forks was a very small town. However, what was done was done.

"Before you give me reasons or excuses or anything else, you are both actual adults, and I'm not going to berate you for what was done. I would like to hear, in your own words, what happened and why. I have a theory or two, but let's hear it." She didn't yell, didn't raise her voice, it was soft, full of concern, and honestly the two felt that maybe they had overstepped bounds when they made their announcement. Harry, not wanting Alice to take the brunt, spoke first. "We were talking in the car on the way to school, and we were both uncomfortable with what was likely to happen between me and the other girls. Yes I could have been nice and brushed them off, but we felt that if we made it clear we were together, then we could actually try to make real friends."

Alice picked up at this point, "We both understand that we will be leaving here in probably no more than a decade at most, but we wanted to try and have friends. True, we can't really relate to them, and we obviously would not be able to tell them most of our secrets, but it was a shot to try and fit in. Without having to worry about who was making a move on either me or him or who had designs." Esme nodded as if this was exactly what she was thinking. In truth, she honestly thought Alice was simply making her claim public without doing a Rosalie. She loved that girl, but public displays were no problem for her and Emmett when they wanted to.

"I understand, and like I said, I am not mad. Keep things calm in public, make it clear to everyone out there that you aren't going to start anything crazy, and everything will be fine. Whatever you two get up to in your room, I honestly don't care. We all know what will happen eventually. Just let the boat stop rocking a bit for now." They both nodded at that and went up to there room, sat down at the desks and knocked out what little homework they had.

Time continued and everyone fell into a routine. In his off time, Harry was going through some rune books. He may have studied runes in school, but most of what he learned, as usual, only leaned towards battle aspects. He also enjoyed looking at the books. His mind memory may be eidetic now, but that didn't change the fact that information that wasn't used often got buried. It was never forgotten, but sometimes it was easier to go through a book than try to drudge up a memory.

He was trying to work out a rune string that would help them all in day to day life. He had put off the aging rune string. It wasn't really necessary right now and there was plenty of time. However, to be dependent on the weather to be able to try to blend in was annoying. Sure they had a cover for it, hiking in the woods, and having a house that close to the actual woods helped to support that. However, if he could work a rune string that simply stopped them from sparkling, then it would give them more options. He'd have to come at it later, maybe a different mindset.

Alice had been reading some of his books as well on the side. She had been mainly concerned with customs and trying to figure out if there was anything that needed to be added to a regular wedding. She really wanted to make sure that it was perfect for both of them. For the most part everything was the same, however she was going to have whoever officiated add a couple lines at the end in Latin, along with the tying of a ribbon around their wrist to signify the joining. There were some other things, but she noticed that for the most, they were the same things.

The family was going good, and as time went on, everyone got used to it. Edward would occasionally read a magical text, Rosalie and Emmet helped Harry learn the basics of car care. Harry did get his license and as a gift, was given a new car. When he looked up the info on the car, he was astounded to find his new car was a Porsche 911 GT1 Strassenversion. It had also been painted a flat black with emerald highlights in various areas. He didn't know how they got it and he didn't care. Him and Alice had broken it in very quickly.

When they realized that they had missed his birthday, and after admonishing him slightly for it, they threw a small party. Presents were given, though nothing too ostentatious was thrown around. It was pointed out to him that when you lived as long as they could, arguably forever, that you could easily build up a lot of stuff. So usually they got gifts that were either hand made or had some type of connection.

The holidays came and they took a trip up to Alaska and Harry was introduced to the Denali coven. It was an interesting visit, and though the sisters flirted slightly, it was made quite clear they respected their status and were only having a little fun. They had wanted to introduce him to Eleazar, as he had a unique gift to tell others what their gift was. However he and his wife Carmen had gone off on some trip. They hadn't said where, but they wouldn't be back for a few more months.

Finally starting back at school things, where calming down. Harry and Alice had made some friends, not many but enough to be social. Emmett and Rosalie where the head turners of the senior class. They had announced they would be taking a year off before starting college, even then they where debating whether they would go online or not. Edward kept his distance from most everyone. Harry thought he was purposefully being anti-social. He knew edward was actually a pretty down to earth person, but he also seemed to be standoffish to those who didn't know him.

When he walked into english that day, he and Alice saw a new student. "Hi, my names Isabella Swan, but you can call me Bella."

Chapter End

Closing notes. I want to say thank you to everyone who has followed, favorited, or reviewed, or some combination thereof. I read each one and try to take it into consideration. I do want to make one reply to a particular reviewer and if they are reading this then you know who you are.

I get where your coming from. And in some fanfic you are absolutely right. However in this fic, and I have tried to explain this, Harry focused heavily on things to keep him alive. So combat magic and combat runes, mental magics, tactics, politics, and etiquette. The last two because if you can get the government on your side, even if its useless, it does give you some legitimacy. Hes not all powerful or can solve everything just because hes there. He hasnt fixed the glitter effect or the non-aging issue or at least appearing to age. They still have to feed, and do everything they have always done.

With that said, I will go into a bit more in the next chapter or two what he has done around the house. But keep in mind, though the wards they put up in the HP movies and books during the hunt, they where even mentioned as being temporary. Easy to put up, but also easy to take down if someone knows they are there. For something permanent, that would take a wardstone, and I am going to assume there is a way to prepare it, along with the type of stone and such. Finally, as lightly pointed out in this chapter. Money will not be an issue. I mean, in the books they own an island. Stop and thank about that for a second. An ….Island. Thats new money, old money, and oil money, all rolled into one. Ok maybe they cant buy a country, but they are pretty damn rich.

As always, read and review, and if you enjoyed it, hit that follow and favorite button.
